So kindness of staff, delicious food
Great fresh food always great value for money.....
There are a few Japanese Restaurants in Eastwood, but only a few worth going to in my opinion. For lunch deal bentos, options include Sakae Dining, next to King’s Seafood Restaurant; Ichiraku, behind Eastwood library. For Sushi, I love Sushi Arigato. For Ramen, I recommend Zenya. I have been to both Sakae and Ichiraku. Sakae offers $13.50 bentos for lunchtimes with a variety of options including grilled Mackerel, teriyaki fish/chicken and katsus. Ichiraku has their menu starting from $10.80 and increasing with more expensive options. Sakae’s bentos come with green tea, three slices of sashimi, salad, potato salad, a mini spring roll plus rice and miso soup. Ichiraku’s comes with three pieces of baby tuna sushi, salad, rice and miso soup.
Service was friendly and food came out quickly too, portions were decent and was very affordable. Their food was fresh and tasty and have quite a big menu to choose from
I like this place because of the authenticity in Japanese dishes. From what I can see all the staff speak Japanese and they put efforts into the dishes they make. Occasionally, I see Japanese people go there. You will have no problem ordering food in Japanese. I have been there many times with friends and love the sushi. I find it is most fresh when it is on Saturday. The takeaway sushi is also quite delicious and reasonable in price but you may need to pre-order in case they are busy on the weekends.

A very nice Yakiniku buffet. It's a little bit pricey at $50-60 a head but if you plan on going here, make sure you're very hungry and eat lots!
Sashimi is very fresh, bbq meat is so-so, ice cream is the best part 😁😁😁😁 I always end up getting around 5 scoops 😂😂 Seriously black sesame and green tea is soo good!
Sakae is the go to local Japanese for the family. We'll usually order a whole bunch of their entrees and share with the whole family so we get a good amount of variety. The torikara, spicy sashimi salad and agedashi tofu are favourites for us, and we'll usually order different things depending on how we feel on the day. The entrees are the more value for money compared to their bentos. Never had a really bad dish here and the price is pretty decent. Recommended if you're ever in Eastwood!
One of my old all time favourite local jap places. Sashimi is fresh and their beef tataki with homemade sauce is tasty. Great agadashi tofu.
Great place. Friendly, fast service. Moderately priced and always plenty of customers inside! Love the 1 + 1 set they have there and always go for the sushi and udon.
We had a wonderful experience. Food was amazing and high quality. Ginger was fresh as well as the best miso soup ever. I thoroughly enjoyed the curry which wasn't too spicy but just right. Service was prompt and a pleasant setting, highly recommended. Price was right as well. We usually pay more at other restaurants but the taste isn't as good as here.
Sakae has been around for a while and they managed to keep a good standard of food! The sushi and sashimi are always fresh, and the other dishes are always fresh and tasty too!
Customer service is also good!
I have been going to this restaurant since 2003 and the menu is consistently good. They often have special deals based on the time of year. The bbq teriyaki squid, served warm is exquisite. The sashimi is always good, but freshest mid week. If you order a main, check the menu for extra items you can add for a discounted price. I often get the udon noodle soup, with either karaage chicken or pork katsu, plus 5 slices of succulent salmon belly sashimi on the side.
This restaurant has changed management several times, and has been renovated since my last visit. The menu has more bento choices and lunch time specials, and the bbq teriyaki squid is even more delicious than before.
My favourate Japanese restaunt in Eastwood

Tasty food with friendly and quick service. Best to order a few dishes to share if you come here with other people. Would come again to try the bento boxes + lunchtime specials.
great good, great value. definitely will come back again. Only little thing is the waitress she spilled miso soup on my daughter's leg, and later on the tempura sauce, without apologies😔
Offers great variety of bento box meals and reasonably priced dishes. Served in decent portions and dishes are delicious. Sashimi and salad are always fresh. Friendly staff, always worth going for their lunch specials.
