Came here for lunch today, got the carbonara and beef burger.
Taste: 4/5 (both pasta and burger 4/5)
- burger was pretty juicy, fries were super fresh!
- creamy carbonara pasta, not what I was expecting but tasty regardless.
Value: 4.125/5
Delicious takeaway bingsu will definetely come back to try the other flavors as best priced bingsu ever! Please feel free to check the link below for full blog review

Was looking for a place to eat and stumbled across The Honest Kitchen.
Friend ordered a chorizo pizza while I ordered the beef burger. Did not really expect much but overall pretty happy with what I ordered. Beef was cooked well and tasted nice. The pizza tasted not soggy and quite fresh. I would recommend this place!
Ordered the prawn pane. Quite surprised by the portion given. Loved the creaminess of the sauce. Service was great. I will probably try either the risotto or pizza next.
Pros:
- Attentive service
- Probably the only place to get bingsu after pizza
- Their steak pizza
- Reasonable price point
Cons:
- Mediocre pasta, probably on par with what you would imagine pasta made by Asian chefs tastes like
Giving it 4 star just because i haven't tried the pizza and pasta here, but did you know they do korean shaved ice as well?!
We had the mango cheesecake shaved ice and the red bean shaved ice. They are not the icy syrupy desserts like most korean shaved ice i had before, but more like fluffy ice cream, my favourite kind of shaved ice!!! They used evaporated milk i reckon, which gives it a rich taste. The mango cheesecake one wasn't very cheesy, but they were very generous with the mangoes!
The red bean one also has soy bean powder, which gives it an authentic korean touch to it.
would like to come back to try their italian food too.
Really nice pizza and pasta restaurant. Pasta is cooked al dente and not overburdened with sauce, but still has lots of flavour. The pizza is nice, with good dough (but could have used more toppings).
The chips are very nice, at first I thought they were too thick, but they manage to retain an excellent level of crunchiness on the outside, despite their big size
I can hardly find a nice aglio e olio in Sydney. But this really surprise me! Awesome taste and it’s juicy! Totally suit my tastebud! Will visit more often next time!
HONEST KITCHEN experience
My friends introduced me to this Korean/Italian restaurant. Without their introduction, I’m pretty sure that I would not be able to find this place for ages. But I feel like I found a hidden gem in Eastwood. They have a good variety of dishes such as pizza, pasta, risotto, burger and Korean desserts.
Things I liked
- A nice and casual dining at good atmosphere
- A wide variety of food menu
- Tasty dish for this price
- Uniqueness of Korean influence on Italian dish
Things I’d like to note
- A bit difficult to find this place (Located at the basement of Aldi)
Very good for a Korean run Italian restaurant. They're very generous with their dishes (I ordered the steak pizza and seafood bread bowl spaghetti). The pizza was surprisingly good with a good amount of toppings. The seafood spaghetti was the best, a good amount of seafood and yeh bread tasted so good dipped into the creamy sauce. The bingsoo here is one of the best in eastwood. The ice is soft and provide very good combinations of of toppings. I got the coffee with caramelised nuts bingsoo.
I've only tried the red bean bingsoo but it was really nice and even though it looked small when it came out, there is actually a lot. I really want to try the pizzas and pastas next time~
The best bingsoo spot in Eastwood in my opinion, the shaved ice was like snow and there are a variety of flavours to choose from. We had 3 of the four flavours on this really hot day and it was an awesome relief
My friend ordered a Supreme pizza and I ordered a Marinara seafood pasta. Both dishes lived up to my expectations. Expect some spice in the Marinara seafood pasta and lots of stretchy mozeralla cheese on the pizza. They are generous with the toppings on the pizza in my opinion and same goes for the seafood in the marinara pasta. The service was quick and friendly-they promptly served our meals and the meals were reasonably priced having regard to the generous portion size of the food.
great and efficient service, food came out quick, cater for kids with high chairs and cutlery. Get the the bowl of chips, their thick cut and crispy.
Italian food with Korean influence. I found myself here after my wife craved for pasta while in Eastwood! To my surprise it wasn't bad at all, pretty good actually. I guess it really suits my Asian palate for pasta!
Honest Kitchen reminds me of the pizza and pasta I had in Korea. Which is an “OMG this is amazing!” thing. Not saying it’s authentic Italian and if that’s the only Italian you’ll have, Honest Kitchen is probably not going to be up your alley, but in short they have my absolute love and devotion!
The menu is easy to navigate and read with categories like pasta, burger, steak & risotto, pizza, and salad & side. Pizzas are also split into three with meat, seafood, vegetarian, so you can go straight to your preference.
The prawn pane pasta is a must-get. Only after ordering did I realise there is just a normal pane pasta (big bread cream pasta) and is $2 cheaper, so if you eat bacon that could be an option also. I would have chosen the prawn pane anyway but it did only come with 4 prawns and is priced at $20. You’ll still be incredibly full though as there are a lot of carbs to get through. The cream sauce is amazing and PERFECT for bread dipping. A lot of garlic which I love, but they could add more chilli which is entirely personal preference though.
The Miss Marinara is a soupy pasta and reminded me slightly of a mild jjamppong which is a Korean spicy seafood noodle soup found commonly in Korean-Chinese restaurants. It was tasty too and definitely not as heavy as the pane pasta, but I still recommend the bread pasta.
The funghi pizza is another one giving me cravings. Bunch of mushrooms and perfectly cheesy, it was absolutely delightful and without a doubt I’ll be getting it again.
Isabella is another vegetarian pizza that has its cheese game on point with grilled eggplant and zucchini, red onion, olives, fresh tomato, and basil. It’s $16 and they are pretty generous with the toppings so worth a try, but personally funghi all the way!
Food comes out quickly and they also give you chilled lemon water to wash it all down with. Oh and pickles too to break up all the cheese, cream, and carbs! I love Honest Kitchen.
We came to Honest Kitchen seeking an authentic Bingsoo. The amazing kind - not to be confused with shaved ice and sugar syrup. Fluffy snow with Asian toppings.
The one here is certainly loaded with red beans and has a good ratio of mochi and peanut powder.
The snow was good. Not the best I've had in Sydney but definitely up there and worth returning for.
I happened on this place a year ago and was confused. What the? Korean style Italian food?! But now I'm a regular at Honest Kitchen. It's a cosy little cafe/restaurant with home style decor. It probably seats about 40-50 people (not too big) and gets very busy from 6pm. My recommendations: the...
It's a Korean Italian Restaurant, as there is only 1 pasta restaurant in Eastwood with nice & friendly environment. Too many Korean restaurant there, sometime just want to hv other things. I Love the Prawn Pane~ not too creamy but tastety.👍👍👍it's quite special~ one of my favorite dishes. The pumpkin risotto is recommended as well~ 👌👌👌 Spaghetti Marinarra not bed, but compare with the Prawn Pane, i prefer the prawm~ they do hv the Royal Card as well, but not sure how does that work~😂😂
Italian cuisine, with Korean influence- didn't sound so appealing at first. But i was clearly proven wrong. Their pane pasta was absolutely amazing. The only downside is the stale/soft bread, which kinda ruined the dish itself. Apart from that, i would definitely come back.

Eastwood is packed with so many Chinese and Korean restaurants so I was very happy that I discovered an Italian restaurant. Honest Kitchen serves good quality Italian dishes at affordable prices.
We ordered the bbq chicken pizza, the ribeye steak, and some drinks. Pizza was good but the steak was the highlight for me. It was juicy and packed full of flavour.
Staff were also very friendly and attentive. You must check this place out!
Had great Italian dinner at Honest Kitchen with family and friends on Sunday. Introduced by one of my friend and it's her new, regular Italian place.
Located in the Alde, Eastwood building, not easy to spot if you don't know the area well like me.
Generous serving size and tasty Italian dishes were just awesome. Steak pizza was fantastic, Seafood spaghetti, kids size pizza, seafood risotto, loved all the dishes we had. Looks like it'll be my regular place from now on.
Tried the pasta and it was surprisingly tasty. Overall service was attentive and service was fast. Pizza looked tasty, might consider trying it next time
What we need more in Sydney! Honest good Italian food without the rediculous prices.
Tried the 4 seasons pizza, marinara pasta and mushroom risotto. All excellent dishes, pizza is especially good. Quality and freshness in every bite.
When we walked by and saw the place we weren't fully convinced. The chef came out to greet us and told us how good his pizza dough is. He wasn't wrong.
Even the simple garden salad had punchy flavour and textured leaves you just don't get even at more expensive places these days. ie no soggy or deadish leaves...all crunchy and fresh.
Will be back for sure! Just hope we don't have to wait for a table when the word gets out!
First time trying rose spaghetti •̀ᴗ•̀
I enjoyed it though there was no wow effect (❛ө❛)
They have a great range of spaghetti / pasta / risotto / pizzas - might come back to try other dish
Ordered the bulgogi pizza, steak pizza and herb bread and got free bingsoo with our order too. The food was really nice and we had left overs. Both pizzas were really tasty. The size of the crust is standard for Neapolitan pizza and the taste of the pastry is really nice. So glad to have a nice pizza place near home. 😊
The Honest Kitchen is honestly good Italian. Try their seafood pasta, vegetarian pizza and aglio e olio. Thy are to die for.
They’ve recently updated their menu, there are so many more options now which is great! The big bread pasta and mushroom risotto were delicious as expected 👍
Had their Prawn pane, so creamy and delicious.
Recent new menu tastes very nice, especially the pasta!
