One of the biggest chains of Vietnamese restaurant across Sydney. They have a pretty decent menu and lucky for us, pretty close by. Both the missus and I had the vermicelli salad; pork and spring rolls respectively. Really nice with lots of greens and prefer to for a hot summer dinner!

Pho was shared between the kids and portions were big-ish. Kids couldn’t quite finish the raw beef & beef ball variety.

So all-in-all a tie with the other famous 🇻🇳 restaurant along the road.

I like that it's so much easier to get a table here than next door. Now I've tried both, I'd rather eat here. We came because I really wanted to try Bun Bo Hue.
The menu selection is big and everything looks delicious. Price is reasonable and serving is big.

We got rice paper rolls, Bun Bo hue and a beef and chicken pho.
The bun bo hue is not very spicy and the thick rice noodles were cooked well. The pho was good too, broth was aromatic but doesn't taste like MSG.
Was a good feed overall.

I always enjoy coming to Gia Hoi, each time the service is extremely quick & the food is hot & tasty.
My personal favourite is their grilled chicken with broken rice, it is soooo satisfying, the chicken is always crispy but super moist and piping hot, accompanied by fluffy broken rice & two bowls of sauce/soup to lather your chicken & rice in.
Surprisingly I've never had the pho which seems to be their most popular dish, but my boyfriend gets it every time, so it must be good! :-)

This is the best pho place I’ve even been in Syd. The waitresses are very nice. Great soup! Better than pho an! Me and my girlfriend love it.

The serving sizes here make their pho the perfect recovery feed despite their perceived inadequacy regarding the taste. They let you change your normal rice dish to tomato rice. I highly recommend the net rice paper crab and pork rolls if you can stomach more. The staff are very attentive, but the food sometimes takes more time than expected to come.

Good pho and vermicelli noodles. They also have avocado shake which is awesome.

Tables can be a little cramped, and sometimes it can get busy, but there are lots of tables and quick turnover generally means you won't wait too long.

Service can be a bit hit and miss depending on how busy they are

We usually go to the Canley Heights branch but we were in Eastwood and were craving for broken rice so visited this branch for the first time.

We ordered 2 broken rice (com tam) as that's what we had craving for. The portion size is noticeably smaller than that at Canley Heights. Otherwise it tasted good.

A few doors from tan viet is gia hoi, which offers way more choices than tan viet.

Intentionally steering clear of all things pho on my 1st visit, i got their special thin vermicelli (w pork meatballs, shredded pork, minced prawn, grilled pork n spring rolls n the requisite greens). Exhales..

Special thin vermicelli 3.25/5, a cacophony of all nyummy meat w humongous carbo that is vermicelli AND healthy greens. A celebration then. Need more of their sauce though.

Net rice paper spring rolls w crab n shrimp 4.25/5, easily what will bring me back here again n again. The skin is reminiscent of fried dim sum taro, only more dainty. The filling is king. Thank God it wasnt soaked in oil. Good stuff.

Clean place, good service, greetings on arrival n departure. Gia hoi has a more extensive menu than tan viet next door. I have yet to delve deeper into their other items. Based on my 1st date, i am keen on 2nd.

One of the best pho you can find in the area. We've been the regulars to this restaurant for a few years now. Service is always good and price is very reasonable. We've tried a lot of other dishes other than pho too and each one of them were so delicious. Will definitely recommend it to anyone.

Located on Rowe st, this venue offers quick and relatively decent priced Vietnamese food. The pho was decent but at the same time wasn't mind blowing either.

Went to the original in Bankstown a few years ago, now happy to see that they have expanded with outlets all over Sydney. The good news is that they have managed to maintain the quality of the food. Often packed at lunch time, I was there for a late lunch, so wasn't too crowded. A good range of Vietnamese noodles on the menu. I went for the classic Special Beef Pho. The soup broth was good, not overly heavy, but still had a good flavour. A good amount of all of the beef elements, minor down size was that the tripe pieces were really small & thin, kind of just got lost in the noodles. Service is usually snappy, to move you on quickly. Only complaint is that you have to specifically ask for fresh chili, but I never got it. Overall, one of the better offer on the main street of Eastwood.

This is a place I come frequently to satisfy my Vietnamese cravings. The owner who often stands at the front of the restaurant is very warm and accommodating and always endeavours to seat us as soon as possible, even when there is a waiting line that extends out the door.

The food is always delicious, fast and decently sized. Our personal favourites would be the beef pho noodles, vermicelli noodles with pork, and the crispy chicken with tomato rice.

In my opinion this is one of my favourite Pho restaurants in Sydney.

Dish ordered - special beef noodle soup. One of the things that sets this place apart from other Pho places is that they provide you with spicy broth with the noodles - whilst other pho joints only provide you with a mild broth and you'd have to add in the chilli yourself.

I will rate the pho dish and the restaurant with the following categories:

Broth - 9/10: a good broth makes a good pho bowl. The broth was very flavoursome whilst not being too greasy at the same time. Again the spicy broth, combined with the flavours from the meats and the green onions made it an excellent broth.

Noodles 9/10: well cooked as noodles should be

Meat  8/10 - good range of meats, from beef balls to brisket and beef tripe. However like all pho establishments the meat is a little raw and could be off-putting

Condiments 10/10 - bean sprouts, mint and lemon. Nothing can go wrong with that

Establishment:
7/10 - I like the long rectangle tables which forces strangers to sit next to each other, creating a warm vibe and a greater sense of community with pho-lovers uniting to appreciate this Vietnamese delight.

The restaurant is clean and relatively spacious, however the lights (being formerly a butcher shop) may be off putting

Service 8/10 - great service, but that will vary according to the number of people eating at the store

Price 8/10 - $14.00 for a large bowl which is reasonable - but for a poor uni student like the lower the price the better :)

Overall - not in the typical Vietnamese areas like Cabramatta or Marrickville but definitely a place worth trying. Great rice paper rolls too!

Just a few doors away from Tan Viet, Gia Hoi is the place to go if you are after the Bun Bo Hue.

If Bun Bo Hue or pho is not your preference, strongly suggest you try their Bun Dat Biet. The Vermicelli is just perfectly prepared. Pork chop is well marinated. The BBQ pork is perfect not too dry yet well cooked. The crushed peanut is present but not too overpowering.

The food did take a while to come up today. The quality of food easily make up for the delay. And let's not forget they have three types of chilli sauce. I strongly recommend the dark one which is the match made in heaven for Bun Dac Biet.

Bottom line : Great food. Good service. Good Value for the quality.

Consistent good Vietnamese food. Have tried the pho, bun bao hue, quail and vermicelli noodles. Mostly fantastic, I do think the pho and bun bao hue broth is a tad too sweet though. Can be hard to get staff attention sometimes but would recommend

Great pho place, with lots of choice in what sort of pho you want. Fairly cheap as well and the sizes are huge so it's definitely good value. We've tried other things at the restaurant but their pho is definitely the best bet.

Not a huge fan of the layout of the place, the tables are kinda cramped and the service is so so, but the noodles are good.

Been here a couple of times, and I tend to always order the raw beef pho as I love it and it always tastes fantastic. It's kind of a struggle to finish the whole bowl because the servings are so generous, which is a big plus. It works out well for my family since we can share food a lot easier. The value of it is therefore really great, and the pho tastes very authentic and flavoursome to me.

I have also tried a few other dishes such as their pork udon, crispy chicken with rice and beef cubes with rice, and cannot fault any of them. The service is pretty efficient so you don't have to wait long for your food. I very much enjoy coming here every so often!

Many moons ago I lived in the suburb of Eastwood. I knew every single restaurant, cafe and grocery shop around Eastwood. At that time I would frequent my favourites and knew of the new venues opening up. That was then. Now I don't go to Eastwood much and this is mainly due to horrendous parking and burgeoning crowds that converge at Eastwood on the weekends. It can be quite off-putting and I tend to stay away unless I have to be there. Which is the reason I didn't even realise that Gia Hoi had opened a branch in Eastwood. And according to the web, it has been opened for about 2 years. Sigh! Now this is what I would term 'slow as'! So my checking out begins over 3 visits. Bun Chao Tom - Grilled minced prawns with rice vermicelli. The minced prawn cake were thinly sliced and served over a bed of rice vermicelli with a side of fresh bean sprouts, pickled carrots and shredded lettuce. The dish was served with nuoc cham. Yum! I have a weakness for this dish. Loved how fresh the vegetables w

Rowdy but fantastically delicious value for all. The food at Gia Hoi is absolutely delicious and extremely cheap. I'm a regular usually visiting at least once a week. There's nothing like a steaming hot bowl of beef noodle soup (Pho Tai or Pho Dac Biet) in the middle of winter - the beef soup has a slightly heavier herbal touch than a lot of other Pho places in Sydney but this is what makes it that much tastier and nourishing. How much you enjoy this will depend on your personal taste but I highly recommend this soup.

Some other favourites of mine include the Special Vermicelli Salad (Bun Dac Biet) - the cool noodles mixed with a dash of fish sauce, mint, lettuce, pickled carrot and topped with sugarcane prawn fishcake, spring rolls, pork sausage, grilled lemongrass pork is a winner. The Com Bo Luc Lac (Tomato Rice with Wok Fried Beef Cubes) is incredibly flavoursome. The Com Tam Dac Biet comes with rice, pork cake, salad and a hearty grilled pork chop - it will keep you going all day.

NB - Regarding the service, it's really what you should expect when the food is this cheap. The restaurant when busy, can be extremely rowdy and with the amount of turnover the staff can be abrupt, sometimes verging on rude.

When you visit, expect nothing from the ambience and the service - just enjoy the delicious food - it wins!

A good and bustling Viet restaurant in the heart of Eastwood. The owner/manager is quite amicable and is always keen to help people to their tables. The com ga don, bun bo hue and pho bo are cheap and always consistently good here, and the service is brisk and efficient. The food here is authentic and probably the best in this area of Sydney, and should be considered if you're from around this area and were considering going to Canley/Cabra for viet.

This restaurant serves authentic Vietnamese foods. We were surprised by the quality of foods here and definitely enjoy the dinner.

Only thing is the place is very small and packed. But the owner is very happy to help moving our pram in and out of the restaurant.
