Review Eastwood Korean Restaurant - Eastwood

I was so disappointed with this restaurant. The “monk fish in spicy sauce” was terrible. I only found 3 -4 small pieces of fish meat which can be eaten in this huge fish dish and then the rest of the stuff was the skin and bones. First, I thought probably it is the supposed to be like, then our family tried to eat the skin, it was so gooey and very hard to bite, we couldn’t even swallow it. I think the skin wasn’t well cooked enough, so I called the waiter and he tried using chopsticks to separate one piece of skin and he failed, he agreed with me and took it back to kitchen and 5 minutes late, the fish brought back with the same look and same texture. I had no idea what they did to fish. We just give up to eat any of this mock fish again. We also ordered fried chicken, the chicken had a bit of smell which means it wasn’t fresh enough. The seafood pancake was good and delicious.

Very flavoursome food. Friendly staff. Highly recommended to try. Would definitely come back.

A small cosy restaurant selling Korean foods. We were greeted quickly upon arrival and got seated right away. As soon as the staff took our orders, they brought out various banchan (side dishes) and table water. Shortly 10 minutes later, the food arrived steaming hot and fresh. The bibimbap in stone pot is fragrant with sesame oil and crispy on the bottom and topped with a raw egg yolk that made the mixed rice more creamy. The half size fried chicken was cooked from thigh meat which helped the deep fry meat not too chewy but still tender and moist. I personally didn’t like the accompanying sweet chilli sauce but enjoyed dipping it in the bibimbap sauce and together with crunchy pickled radish. Food overall tastes alright, similar to other places hence for 4 stars rating.

Authentic Korean food with great service! The lady that served us was so friendly and helpful. Always smiling and kind. Really creates a great atmosphere to dine in. The food was also very delicious and it was one of the best Kimchi pancake we ever tasted. Every dish we ordered was great and they also give lots of side dishes. We will definitely be coming back here!

Good quality side dishes and authentic Korean beef bone soup with lean beef.

Pretty traditional Korean restaurant! Me and my partner had “binbinban “ and tofu hot stone pot! Use card got 1.5% extra charge! For 2 people’s dinner we paid 33$ total and got full enough! This is my first restaurant I had when I just arrived Sydney 3 years ago 🥺 memories here~~

Tasty dishes with more options than regular Korean restaurants. The service is also good. We will go there again for sure.

It was ok, not outstanding. Beef dish could have had more flavour, was ok but a little bland. At $49 I expected more. The Fish Soup was nice. Veggies were varied and interesting, but again, lacked some flavour. Service efficient but they don't speak a lot of English however. I think there's better choices for this restaurant price range in Eastwood.

Buckwheat noodles ($15) & spicy octopus with rice ($17), both really great dishes but nothing spectacular. Great humble joint with great prices.

I have been living in Sydney for a year now and even between Sydney and Singapore, I found this restaurant to be the best one in 2 cities which says a lot. The Seolleongtang is definitely a must try when you are here. The Al-tang is also fantastic and although it take me close to 2 hours to come here and eat, it’s still very much worth the trip.

Real rating: 9/10

Tried several Korean restaurants at Sydney and this is so far the best one I’ve had. Really recommend its seolleongtang, together with rice, it warms my stomach up on a cold winter day. Their spicy pork bulgogi is quite good as well! Overall I’d say even though the trip is a bit far, it’s totally worth it.

Real rating: 3.5/5

Came here with a mate as I read about it on a blog. Only came for the lamb and vegetables soup or hot pot. It's a surprise they have this soup as lamb is not a popular meat over there. A rarity I just can't say no!

The decor wasn't anything special. Just a large white room. Staff were nice and spoke English lol. Out back if you need to use the restroom, you might see a staff member chopping meat/fish on the ground. Best not to think too much of it!

Once the food was ordered, side dishes or banchan came out. Korean side dishes are (almost) exclusively vegetarian. There's kimchi, tofu strips and bok choy heavily seasoned with sesame oil. The soup came with rice. It cooks/boil in a portable stove you control.

The soup has chili (presumably to balance out the fattiness of the lamb) and lots of vegetables! Tasted nice and was very filling! So worth it!I would go back tbh to try other stuff. If in a group, I'll probably recommend to book a table

Worst Korean restaurant!! It was hard to comunicate with staffs most of all!! Restaurant was so dirty the glass that they gave us still had food particles previous customer or else where were still on the glasses. And spoons and chopstic wasn't washed properly and they were hammering some sort of fish out near the toilet!! So gross!!

So disappointed with horrible Kimchi soup tonight.. last time was not that bad even though the quality of the food they serve a bit sporadic at some reasons though. Probably main ingredient Kimchi was not properly fermented so tasted like raw salty one. You’re not supposed to sell Kimchi soup when you’re not prepared to serve by decent one unless you stop marketing with the best Kimchi soup restaurant catchphrase bullshit. F***king wast of my time and money.....

This is one of my fave go-to place for Korean food. And when I had an opportunity to come here after my facial, I wasted no time in walking into the restaurant. I went into one of my fave Korean places and that is Mirac. It is close to the train station and the food here is godly delicious!. I only had one hour for lunch due to the parking limits and I was not taking any chances.

It's one of the better korean restaurants in Eastwood. Their stews are quite hearty and they don't skimp on the ingredients. They also give you a generous amount of side dishes so that's always a plus!

There were a lot to choose from the menu. Ordered 2 stir fries (beef and pork), the seafood pancake and the cold noodles. The serving and the price were both quite reasonable. Food was delicious and not too greasy. would like to try their hot pot when it gets colder.

Have been to this restaurant previously, usually for hotpot, however we decided to try something different this time. We had the Wagyu beef, potato noodles and seafood soup. It tasted really nice, especially the beef. Will come again to this restaurant, when I'm in Eastwood.

MIRAC has a very hardworking owner who may not be the smiliest but is fast and efficient. It was a busy night and there was a slight wait, but everywhere in Eastwood was at full capacity and the thought of hot, delicious soup kept me going.

Al tang (fish roe stew) is my absolute favourite Korean stew, so of course a fix was due. We also ordered kimchi stew with pork belly. Before the mains, out came the side dishes with MIRAC serving up a decent number of 5. They were your standard, taste and variety wise.

When the stews came out they were of a good size, and came out nice and hot. With both I wish the soup had a deeper taste but they were still enjoyable and we demolished them. Didn’t even skimp on the fish roe either, as it’s quite upsetting when restaurants give you a max. of 3 pieces or something ridiculous like that.

The menu has a good variety with quite a few Korean favourites along with the typical finds. Plenty more to try if I go back, but with the plethora of Korean restaurants in Eastwood, it may take a little while.

The sizzlers they offer are amazingly mouthwatering and the beef bone soup in soy sauce is one of their signature dishes easy to fill satisfy a hungry stomach. The other dish I've tried is the sizzling chicken in spicy sauce which is equally filling and all of these are worthy of the price you pay.

It's so hard to know which Korean restaurants are good in Eastwood since there are so many. I had heard that MIRAC did a decent beef tartare so we decided to give it a go. It definitely seemed like a popular spot amongst Koreans as people ranged from high school students to uncles and aunties. The portion sizes are huge but the pictures in the menu can be a little deceiving. The food was decent and the service was good as well. If I'm ever looking for a casual Korean dinner in Eastwood I now know where to go.

We came here once and had seafood pancake, potato noodles and bibimbap. It took almost one hour to arrive and the meat with the bibimbap was cold, the pancake smelled funny and the noodles were too grose. I can admit i never been to Korea, but having had excellent Korean food in CBD, Strathfield, im fairly confident its not supposed to taste like this

Wait staff were incredibly rude. When we asked about the menu the waitress was using her cellphone and had a photo of the DPRK flag on it (yes i can tell the difference from the South Korean one). Left without eating.

Not bad considering I am bias to a particular other Korean restaurant in Eastwood. Service was quite good, a little confusion about one of our dishes but they all came out in a timely manner. All 5 sides were a good starter. The high light was the raw beef tartar. Light sweet sauce, cunchy pear & cucumber and raw egg on top. The seafood pancake didn't have much seafood in it, but had a nice crust to it. Beef & mushroom hot pot wasn't too bad, a little spicy. Glad I tried this restaurant, will be back

Horrible food. Just one word. Horrible. Ordered spicy octopus and it was octopus alright but it was chewy like rubber. The bulgogi which is the most basic korean dish was all clumped up in a chunk with very bad flavour. The pancake was probably the best out of all but still quite bad compared to other korean restaurants in the suburb. even the rice was quite overcooked and hard. DO NOT go!!!! Worst experience. Feel sorry for my family that we had to suffer such dinner on chinese new year day

Unpleasent experience. Went there with my girlfriend for lunch, we ordered rice and noodle dishes. Portion was ok but food tasted below average.

Service was the worse among all the korean restaurants I have been to EVER. Even when we were paying, the girl at front desk had the most unpleasant face. We will not be returning to this restaurant again.

Authentic Korean, great value!. I first came here on a recommendation from a Korean friend of mine, and have kept coming back to this no-frills restaurant for years for the consistently good, authentic food and excellent value for money.

Service can be a bit hit-and-miss depending on the wait staff on the night, so If you're happy to point to the menu to show what you're after, there should be no problems.

My favourite to order is the "Ssam Bap" (aka feast for two!). For around $38, you get a choice of either pork belly slices, bulgogi beef, chilli chicken, or duck to bbq yourself, served with rice, soup, about 8 different plates of side dishes (which can be topped up for free), and a plate of salad leaves to wrap your bbq'd food in - korean style. If you're really hungry, add in the seafood pancake.

BYO @ $2/person is an added bonus.
