Had the beef brisket in the dark soup base with noodles. Beautiful stock, deep and dark with hints of aniseed. The beef was soft and the noodles fresh and slippery, a real find and want to try more dishes.
I haven't actually tried the food here, but the desserts are delicious! Their little Taiwanese pancake sandwiches remind me of the kinds I've had in Japan, sweet and reminiscent of childhood. My personal fave is the cheese, but matcha and red bean are also a must
Have never eaten at this branch of Bao Dao, but have been the Chatswood a number of times and they've been a bit hit & miss. This Eastwood branch had similar menu, but it's table service. Ordered the signature beef noodle soup & a soy milk. Both were quite good, the beef noodle had a bit of a spicy kick (not noted on the menu). The noodle was of a thicker chewier type (in a good way). Good amount of beef toppings too. The sweetness in the soy milk was just right to offset the spiciness of the soup. Overall a satisfying lunch.
Had a bowl of their signature noodle soup! The richness of the soup warms my entire stomach and the fragrance left inside the mouth makes it hard to stop the next spoonful. Perfect match for a cold day like this. So delicious and value for money.
Definitely come back for more!
Their crispy chicken is great! The beef tendon noodle soup is pretty tasty as well. The waitress is very friendly. The price is reasonable.
I LOVE the beef and tendon noodle soup in that dark soy soup! So tasty and what I crave when it's freezing ☃ yes it looks like a regular casual joint but has just the right amount of hustle and bustle.
Food: tasty!
Service: quick + friendly but don't expect being waited on hand and foot
Price: it's not dirt cheap but good value! $20 for a noodle + drink with change
Great Taiwanese food with awesome decor. Such a cute place. And closes late on Saturday night which is awesome for those after dinner chats over milk tea. The only thing I can critic on is that the staff didn't give us chopsticks to eat noodles with. Otherwise great experience. They have a Taiwan travel documentary playing in the background which is great to learn about the food and culture. Don't miss out.
Found this gem whilst strolling like a lost sheep around Eastwood, the outdoor Taiwanese/ Japanese pancake setup; and the window to the restaurants kitchen, definitely brings life to Rowe street.
Upside is that their made to order, downside is the waiting times.
As an Anglo Aussie guy I love the Taiwanese noodle soups - the noodles are thick and the beef broth is delicious. I recommend the beef broth middle soup with a side of eggs. It has everything, meat, noodles, veges, soup. Very good price that fills you up. I will be a loyal customer.
Really enjoyed my time here. We noticed that the portion sizes were pretty big which was lucky because we knew we didn't have to order a lot to satisfy our small appetite at the time. It's great that they have a small and large size option (I reckon this is good for couples) and they have quite a large variety in their menu as well. The service is very polite and quick and it was overall a very good experience.
I am a Taiwanese, I really miss Taiwanese food, especially beef noodles, and stewed food. Because of Bao Dao, I don't need to back to Taiwan and enjoy those home dishes. If someone want to try local Taiwanese food, they can go toBao Dao and try beef noodles and stewed food. Also, I recommend its drink, green or black tea with pearl, its pearl seem to be sunk with black sugar for many hours.
This is a good Taiwanese restaurant which my Taiwanese girlfriend also agree that the taste is very traditional. The Beef noodle and Braised combination are highly recommended. The price is cheap. Normally get full within $20.
Beef Noodle Soup. Broth tastes kinda like pho but it has other tastes in it. I could taste some kind of herb in the broth. Meat was very tender and there was less trace of msg unlike some restaurants.
Good food. Good food, but don't get the inconsistent policy of ordering before seating that's selectively enforced, not to mention terrible signs indicating this.
service prompt and good, good variety of Taiwanese food
Been here a couple of times and been to the one in Chatswood very often. Decent portions and pricing, and a large menu. I love the vintage style décor. They are the most authentic tasting Taiwanese food in Sydney imo. The beef noodles are simply the best and the fried chicken is something we order every time. Where I always go when I miss home.
Quite enjoyed eating here. The service was quick and friendly, the food quality was great, and overall was good value.
I especially loved the Sticky Rice Pudding.
The decor is designed to reflect a Taiwanese style from the past, and may not be for everyone, but I liked it.
They offer a wide variety of Taiwanese dishes. There are not a lot of authentic Taiwanese restaurants in Sydney, but BaoDao is definitely one of the best ones. Really nice flavours and decent portions. Nice customer service. Great place for dinning alone or in groups.
Love the pearl milk tea, dumplings, and beef noodle soup here! Have tried several other dishes as well which have all been great. I feel like the food from this store is better than the Chatswood location.
Great Taiwanese food. I always get the rice and pork sauce.
Great place for Taiwanese food. Combination beef noodles were very tasty and filling. Decent pricing
just bought the sweet from outside the shop, kids love it.
