It’s good generally. I went there more than 4 times and the quality of foods were always excellent.
Staffs were kind too. The location is closed to Eastwood train station. It is hard to find parking ( but this is not their problem)
We were regulars before the change of ownership and visited a couple of times after. The food is still quite good, though the place and menu looks less Japanese has more of a cheap feel, with a huge live fish tank. The salmon teriyaki and ton-toro shoga are still good.
Pretty sure the owner has changed as their decoration becomes more Korean and the menu changed a little bit as well, but their dishes still tastes like they used to be. I would recommend teriyaki salmon and chicken nanbam.
I think Ichiraku has changed owners over the past couple of months as the name is now 'Dadop Ichiraku'. The menu has also slightly changed, there used to be many image references for their meals and now its all just wording.. I preferred the picture menu.
The pork soup base ramens are a favourite for the family to order, we also enjoy the bento boxes. The teriyaki salmon is done quite well here and is another favourite pick for the family. Food is very good value for what you get.
I like to come here for their lunch bentos. They are extremely generous with the amount of food. I especially applaud them for making a great salad in the bentos. My favourite is the teriyaki chicken bento and not bad with the price considering the generous amount of chicken served.
This place gets full marks for ambience! The music was 80's slow rock and sadly I was able to sing to all the songs! It was great! The food is tasty and customer service is engaging. I highly recommend a lunch special bento box.. Very good value.
This has to be one of the best Ramen place we have been to.
It had a great selection to chose from and we ordered the Corn Ramen and the Extra Spicy Ramen, both were fantastic.
We were left forced to fend for ourselves roaming the street to cure our Japanese cravings. #FirstWorldProblems Fortunately a simple call in advanced confirmed it's availability and we loosened our belts and headed for our eating adventure. The atmosphere was great. The service was on the ball. They brought out the free water without you begging. They gave you sufficient time to browse through the menu without rushing you. The food came out without too much wait time. It was quite packed for a Sunday lunch, especially since this restaurant is quite poorly located in Eastwood. We got our typical ramen preferences.. mine always with chilli and her's with garlic.... To be honest, we both agreed this place was not as great as Zenya in Eastwood... the meat at Zenya was more a slice of pork fat which melted in your mouth as you guzzled down soups and noodles. This meat was quite rough in texture. The broth was pretty decent though.
Ichiraku rocks my taste buds!. I have been here over 20 times with various family and friends and every single time we have all walked out with happy tummies and a smile. My priorities in a local eatery is fresh produce: tick, good value: tick and child friendly: tick! I read previous reviews and I agree to a certain extent the service isn't of 5 star quality but I'm not here to make friends. We have always been welcomed and food has arrived within a reasonable time of placing the order. My favourite dish is the salmon and avocado salad....I could eat it everyday! The sashimi and sushi rolls are a big hit with the kids. Enjoy!
Favourite Japanese in Eastwood. It is delicious and especially worth it if you eat in the discounted time!
The food is worth the value much more than Zenya in my opinion...
A solid local ramen shop for us - not the best in Sydney but by far the best in the area. Our standard go-to shop for nuce noodles when we aren't bothered to drive out to North Sydney area. Service is hit and miss - standard Korean (lack of) service but sometimes having to wait 30+ minutes for food is wrong. That said, though we are normally don't return to places with such poor service, the food is good enough to make up for it.
Just love the food at this place. Everything's so tasty that you want to try everything on the menu so we have been going back there again and again. Try the ramen, the bento boxes are great and the rice menus are yummo as well. Don't really mibd the service there. As long as the food's yummy that's all that matters for me!
Good food for a reasonable price. While the food isn't anything to write home about, it is still very good and decent food that is very affordable. It's the type of restaurant you'd go to for a casual dinner with family, or when you're too tired to think of where else to go. You'll always leave satisfied and full, and not much poorer!
We went there for dinner and I had the salmon teriyaki bento box. Everything tasted great, there was a lot of variety, and a lot of food for about $18. My boyfriend had a bowl of ramen which he thoroughly enjoyed, which was only about $12.
Nice service, nice food, nice prices. I'll definitely be going back regularly!
LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT!!!. I LOVE THIS PLACE! I have eaten here for about 10 times now, and the experience has always been pleasant and mouth watering that I can't rave about it enough! The value for money is just AMAZING!!!
The staff always welcome you with I think is what they say in Japanese "Welcome" as you are seated. They also offer you compliementary japanese tea, which would normally cost around $2-3pp at other restaurants.
They have an extensive menu to choose from, and I must say the chef is doing a great job across all ranges! With the variety of menu they offer I think I'll just never get tired of coming back here!
My husband's favourite so far is the Ramen with Pork based soup, which tastes slightly thicker and richer than the chicken option. He usually has it with various rolls which he said were all tasty.
I, on the other hand, being more conscious about my carb intake, love their sashimi/ soft shell crab salad. Sometimes I opt for the chicken namban or curry katsu and usually ask for half the portion of the rice - but still end up getting quite a lot which is a problem for me ;)
My 2 year old loves the kids ramen. At $3 per bowl, it's one of the best valued kids meals I've seen around.
I had been to quite a few different Japanese restaurants in the past and I must say this one offers great food at the most reasonable price. I know my family will keep coming back to this place, at least for quite a while...
Poor service. Food was average. Had the spicey miso ramen, very spicey but lacking in miso flavour my wife had the salmon teriyaki Benton box which was beautiful.
Nice food, good value, lots of variety, nice people.
Ramen has always definately been my favourite food! I actually have a hobby of trying and comparing different types of ramen, but Ichiraku definately sells the best ramen ever! I especially love it when Iruka sensei treats me, which he hasnt done recently. Still the best Ramen out there!!! Thanks old man!
Ive been here a few times for dinner and they never fail to impress me . The food here is always fresh and the service is efficient . Last night I had the soft shell crab salad and it's always so delicious . They Give a generous serving of crab and the dressing is To die for . I also had a pork soup ramen with butter, corn and pork. The little stick of butter melted on top of the soup and tasted so "buttery" haha. The corn kernels were crunchy and sweet so you could tell it was fresh. The soup was light and not sickening thick which is what I prefer. Overall, ichiraku is always a great place to fulfill my cravings For Japanese .
Good food; really nice staff. Their spider rolls are excellent.
Good food, bad service... The food here is fantastic in my opinion, the style of the resturaunt is defiantly a good modern look. You will always expect people to be here eating as it it fairly new, but talking about new the service is quite poor as they lacked staff when i went, finished tables weren't cleaned and many people were waiting to be served as well be seated. The resturaunt would be perfect with a few more staff on the floor.
Tasty food at an affordable price! The ramen, particularly the karaage chicken ramen. The bento boxes are good and filling. Great atmosphere and food at a great price.
New ramen place in Eastwood! I loved the broth and the tan tan men is my favourite. The soft shell crab salad is one of the best I've had and the lunch bento box menu is totally affordable and tasty. Will definitely be a regular there!!
