My usual order when patronize one of my favorite chinese wok cooking and steam cuisine of all time. Stir fried rice noodle with shrimp and scrambled egg plus the Cantonese steamed blue cod. Enjoy the good food with good people and good times indeed.

Very delicious, small family business with heart and passion into the cooking. Definitely worth the wait!

Reasonably good Cantonese style food. Prices are a bit on the high side but servings are large. The restaurant layout is a bit strange, almost like it used to be a residential property. Service was a bit slow and disorganised

Lovely restaurant! Highly recommend their pork bone & pepper soup!! A serve 3-4 pp! The only problem is not enough seat, so book early if you plan to go.

True hidden gem of Eastwood. The ingredients are always fresh. They only order a small inventory of seafoods, so the quality of food is alway good. Friendly business couple owners. Only downside the wait time can be long if you came as the last few tables of the night, so try and be the first one that shows up for the dinner time.

Very dodgy business. We called in advance and would like to make a booking for the dinner, they said there’s no need to book in advance and asked us to walk-in. When we got there, there’re quite a few walk-in customers waiting inside, standing around there. The restaurant offers only several tables and apparently they’ve booked out but they didn’t tell us. The worst thing is they didn’t do take-away and what we can do is to wait!!! I would never recommend to anyone unless you’d like to wait in a long queue and dinning in a horrible environment!

It was a very pleasant visit for family dinner. Having the white pepper pork soup in winter time instantly warm my belly☺️ Their ling fish hot pot, mango prawn roll, chicken taro and black pepper beef steak (the mushroom as side is just so nice) are just delicious!!

I’ll start with the dishes we ordered:
Yu Heung eggplant with mince
Tofu with chicken and salted fish (not on menu listed in Zomato)
Stir fry beans with squid in Malay preserve prawn paste
Honey pepper pork
The above 4 items are listed in tastiness in descending order. I’d describe the food as average- your typical local Cantonese fare. Struggle to say something positive... errr big portions!? But I do pay for it... > $20-25 per dish.

Why I’m giving a big fat 1 ⭐️ is the service. The lady boss is super polite and chatty but same can’t be said about the staff upstairs. Left us waiting for 15 mins without rice despite dishes arriving, no acknowledgement or so much as a grunt when we making request (I’m asking to top up my tea & a take away box, not to polish my car and now the lawn!!). This is a case study in a good enterprise but gets ruined by hiring wrong staff who don’t share the same goal.

Lastly we had to eat our meals with the giant spoon used as a communal scooper are we were told “this is all we have.” I’m calling BS here. Pity the proprietor, let down by poor staff.
We came here without a booking and was lucky to get seats straight away. We wanted to try the soup broths however these were sold out and have been advised you need to make a booking and order them well in advanced during the booking. So we tried some other basic dishes which tasted OK. The egg omelette with oysters, spinach dish and pork cheeks tasted nice, however the bill came to almost $100 for 3 basic dishes and this was a bit of a shock. I would probably come again to try their variety of soup dishes, which is what their known for, the next time I go.

This Chinese restaurant is close to where I live but tried it for the first time after driving past it for many years. Was very impressed with the quality of the food here and definitely won't be another few years until I go back. All the dishes were tasty and there are a lot of choices.

Visited here this week.

The restaurant has a strange layout appearing to be someone's house judging by the knick-knacks on shelves, a calendar up on a wall and what appears to be invoices pinned up next to it. The upstairs dining area wasn't much different with the tables and chairs scattered haphazardly and odd bits of furniture. There appeared to be specials up on the walls but most were in Chinese.

The food itself seems to be very traditional from what I could see and tried. We did order some more familiar dishes but one such as the crispy skin chicken was undercooked in parts with bloody bones. The parts that were edible were tasty enough I suppose but it's presentation didn't encourage me to eat more. Other dishes just weren't presented in a way that was appetising.

Some of the serving dishes were broken, soup bowl with a broken handle, rice container (read ice bucket) also had a handle missing.

Later in the night the staff left a door open making the room absolutely freezing, one waitress was even wearing a puffy jacket.

I wouldn't recommend this place, zero ambiance, food won't appeal to most people as it seems to be targeting Chinese folks. The restaurant itself is drab as I said it looks like you've stepped into something like an elderly relatives house. The service is ok, not rude but could be much better. There are much better alternatives in Epping and Eastwood, won't be back.

1 out of 5 for the service but 5/5 for the food. The waitress was not attentive at all and ignored us for nearly 15 minutes as we waited to order. But the food is a local gem, especially the crab. The food quality surely compensates the bad service.

We ordered 8 dishes for 9 ppl. The food portion is smaller compare with other restaurant, but I reckon it's just nice cox you get the variety. Well of course it will add up a bit more pricey, expect to spend $25 to $35 per person. Food takes a bit longer to come out when full house, so just have to be patient.

Pretty average to me. I'll be brutally honest and say I don't know how they are always booked out. We had a booking for 8 people, we got there on time and no table was ready. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table to finish and leave so they could set it up for us. It was also just 4 2 people tables pushed next to each other. It was in a corner so the person on the inside couldn't even get out. We waited ages for food to come out and had to ask about it twice to which the manager responded very rudely. We had ordered crispy skin chicken which came out, we finished it and realised that the portions were quite small so we decided to add a second order of crispy skin chicken. The second order of crispy skin chicken actually came out before any of our remaining 4 dishes did (one of the dishes was just fried Chinese Broccoli which would take much less time to cook compared to crispy skin chicken). We were completely flabbergasted. I definitely do not recommend this restaurant, the food is in small portions, the prices are high and they don't even seat you properly. I'm never going back.

Recently I heard a Chinese whisper go around mentioning Wokking Inn Restaurant is in town offering Chinese contemporary cuisines. On a weekend night the place is packed, taking over the second floor, filled with Asian families and a few Western couples who happen to pass by. Don’t be fooled when you enter the restaurant and witness one table ...

This place was almost full when we arrived. It seems to be a popular spot, though I can't understand why. The food was average and overpriced; we paid $18 for a plate of stir fried vegetables, which was a "special". We won't be going back.
