Review Pho Mai - Eastwood

The food here wasn’t bad but there were a few things I picked up. Decided to go with the wagyu pho but it was a little lack luster and also a bit too salty. The sugarcane prawn was actually pretty nice but is pretty hefty for what is given. Not sure if we came when the kitchen was closing but the kitchen was incredibly loud with the yelling and singing. Wasn’t the greatest vibe. However the avocado shake was actually pretty good. Kinda it’s in my redeeming quality.

Very nice experience eating out at Pho Mai. The service was great, the waitress gave good suggestions for us to try when some of the items on the menu were not available. Pho is usually pretty hit or miss and this Pho was definitely a hit - the brisket sausage was delicious and juicy and not stringy and chewy like brisket often is. There were many different types of Pho (veg/nonveg) to choose from and other non-pho options. The meals took about 5 minutes to prepare - really fast service. The place was clean and comfortable - it felt like a family friendly restaurant and it was priced pretty well too. I would definitely bring other people here for a meal.

Have walked past this place but never actually tried it until a few days ago. I ordered the Beef Pho Combination (Pho Duc Biet). The portion size was good and the broth was also pretty good. The pho tasted very authentic and will definitely be back here again to try out their other dishes

I really wanted to like this place despite all the bad reviews, but unfortunately, they were true. Crispy skin chicken with egg noodles - the chicken was like a biscuit, dry and flavourless. Egg noodles must have been cooked days ago and microwaved because it was soggy and clumped together. A soup may saved the noodles but they didn't provide one like most Viet restaurants do. I didn't give them 1 star because I didn't get sick from it which meant it was relatively clean.

I wouldn’t say it was splendid, but it’s ok. Came in around 12pm and we still managed to get a spot. Food was served relatively quick.

Decent bowl of pho. Great value for money and it was there pho special on Thursday. Personally found their broth just salty , and can't taste much other flavour. Maybe it is a busy day. I will try again next time.

Mom and I came to this restaurant for dinner and we ordered beef noodle soup, it was horrible. No coriander and no mint leaves. I do not recommend coming to this restaurant. So overpriced, bad customer service and so incompetent

Just went and picked up a chicken pho... take away. Quick service and very friendly. Brought it home and great quality and value. I had lots of chilli in mine - others did not - both super tasty. Can’t wait to go back and see what the rest of the menu is like!

Great serving sizes and very quick service. Waitresses were very nice and courteous. Quick and easy feed right in the centre of Eastwood. Would recommend. The drinks and food were cheap. The soups were a little watery and there was more noodle compared to other components but that’s about it.
We really enjoy Vietnamese food. It’s highly fragrant food with subtle flavours and often with a delicacy to it. With these thoughts swimming through our hungry heads we set off for Eastwood in Sydney’s Northern Suburbs to visit Pho Mai. Don’t sugar cane prawns sound like a great dish? We’ve had them plenty of time before at other places and they’ve always been a “go to” dish. These were deconstructed and tasted just as good as they have elsewhere. It was a big serving too!

Delicious and hot. Soup is clean and the beef brisket is delicious. Service is sometimes a bit of, but it’s delicious so all good.

Chewy noodles and tasty pho - go on , get sum.

Below average viet dishes. Terrible service, waitress ignored baby spilling drinks on chair, and let customer clean off all the way. Order was pushed as soon as sitting on table. Spoke to superviser, who cannot accept comment or feedback but try to debate. Totally disgraceful, not returning again

This place is a one stop for a quality bowl of Pho! The staff are accommodating and friendly, and you will always be able to find a table! Would highly recommend if you are in the area or are coming off the train!

I was looking for pho close to home and not in the middle of nowhere, like pho an at Bankstown. It was on a weekday during midday, they had a weekday special for $10 pho, that I decided to swing by. The restaurant was crowded, barely enough space to squeeze between chairs. Staff were lifeless and clearly influences the overall mood.

Pho - wanted to upgrade the size but that will revert it to regular pricing, nevertheless the regular bowl was plenty anyways. Rice noodles were good but beef not so much, soup needed a stronger spice kick.

Nothing special but the staff’s poor mood will translate onto patrons.
Good pho, heavy on the aromatics (star anise?). Chicken egg noodle soup was nice. Star was the Sautéed beef cubes with tomato rice. Nice smokey, charred flavor with a touch of pepper.

Quite nice pho and other Vietnamese dishes. This restaurant is located on the East side of Eastwood which is normally dominated by Korean restaurants. Parking can be quite difficult during weekend lunch times, the Aldi complex car park is probably your best bet.

I’m sorry, but stop kidding yourself with Vietnamese food. When there is a much better place on the other side of the train station. No thanks

Absolutely delicious food and such good prices for great big servings. Staff are friendly and service is very efficient. The place is clean and food is always so fresh. I love it here.
