The food is good and generous. Only lacking is consistency. Sometimes the food is too sweet or spicy or too chilly.

Generous, moorish and unapologetically delicious.
I have been coming to Yang Tz for years now, and not once have their Black Bean Noodles (BBN) and Sweet and Spicy Fried Chicken let me down.
Their BBN is a classic and delicious, but the real star of the show is their fried chicken.

Authentic Chinese-Korean food. Have been here regularly since I can rememeber. Can never go wrong with place! Severely underrated. But you must know what to order! My recommendations: item 31 - fried beef and veggies in sweet and sour sauce. Item 39 - fried chicken with sweet and spicy sauce (see pic) note that it can be spicy so ask for less spicy if you can't handle the heat. Item 57 - noodle with soy bean sauce (see pic). Item. Item 63 - Diced seafood and vegetable noodle soup (spicy!).

This place totally satisfied my noodle craving. On a friend's recommendation I ordered the noodles with soy bean ($12) and seafood noodle soup ($16). Liked both for different reasons. Soy bean one looked like it would be really salty when it arrived as it was so dark but actually milder than expected. Slight hint of sweetness even. Really nice. The seafood noodles was very warming on a cold day. Light broth, not as hot as I was expecting/hoping. Quite a few bits of seafood and vegetables. The type of noodles in both were great.

Loving the jjajangmyeon (Korean black bean noodle) from Yang Tze River, seems to be a staple as I saw every table had one of this on them. The seafood noodle was quite good too and I loved the veggie with mushrooms, the sauce was so flavorsome. Been back since for the noodles!

SPICY GARLIC FRIED CHICKEN AND BLACK BEAN NOODLES:
Yang Tz River make the best freaking spicy fried chicken in Sydney. The mixture of heat and sweetness is divine and there is a reason that it is in the other side of the main street of Eastwood "K-Town" and right next to the police station. Perhaps because Yang Tz River "kills" it.... sorry.
Anyhow, the only reason this receives a 4 is because the black bean noodles could be a little bit better. There is not a strong and unique taste that separates this from its competitors. It is definitely solid but nothing more. Visit @benchorburgers on Instagram!

Like throwing your food around? Order the yang jang pi ($16) and you can mess up a neatly arranged rainbow of prawns, squid, mussels, jellyfish, octopus, vegetables and stir-fried noodles into one big glorious muddle. Then you need to add as much sinus-clearing mustard sauce as you can handle.

Yang Tz Gang (River) is one of the most authentic Korean-Chinese restaurants you will find in Sydney. I have been to dozens of Korean-Chinese restaurants over the past 15 years and this one was a clear winner. I reckon there jajjangmyun (black bean noodles) is the best and the closest thing you will get to something in Korea. But the tang soo yuk (sweet and sour pork) was a little bit too sweet for my tastebuds but it looked really beautiful.

Best jajangmyeon! I could also eat the side dishes all day consisting of kimchi, radish, onion and black bean paste. Favourite go-to spot. Also, their hot and spicy chicken is amazing!

This restaurant is my favorite spot for having jjajangmyeon! The noodle was cooked perfectly and not that soft and the black bean sauce wasn't that oily. Ordered their tangsuyuk, the beef was tender and crunchy but the sauce was too sweet without any hint of sourness. I'll stick to their fried chicken next time!

Tucked away upstairs, this place hides it's fantastic food. Had the sweet and spicey fried chicken which was ridiculously tasty! We also ordered sautéed beef and leek(more leek than beef) with plain buns on the side. I recommend this combo as the tasty heavy chicken was neatly balanced with the clean tasting leek and beef. Slightly pricier than a cheap eat but it's well worth it. If you're keen for some good hearty Korean slash Chinese food get your self here:)

This restaurant is way too underrated ! Like the other reviewer mentioned, it's a korean chinese fusion kind of restaurant.
Whenever you come here, you have to try their ja jiang mien (Black Bean Noodle) & Fried chicken (with sweet/sour sauce?). I can't exactly remember the name of the chicken dish but I'll let my pictures do the talking! They serve two side dishes, pickles and kimchi. I wouldn't say they are good though.

It's pretty quiet during lunch time and a little better at night. It's not a very pretty restaurant but it's decent.
The noodle is chewy and the sauce is mostly made out of pork belly, onions, zucchini and their black bean sauce. It's good to eat along with the pickles they offered. Oh and let's not forget about the chicken, these two dishes go together really well!

Note: The chicken & noodle dishes are pretty oily, so unless it's a treat for yourself, i doubt it's healthy to have it everyday. lol.

The best Korean Chinese restaurant, as labelled by Koreans. And it is. There's a reason why they've been trading for 20+ years. Their food has a depth of flavour that is missing from all the new and somewhat hipper places. This place is old school. The interior is shabby and communication can be a challenge at times, but you're guaranteed a good feed here. And as close to authentic as you're going to get outside of Korea.

It's the best when you get a huge mouthful of noodles and lots of sauce.. I'm salivating right now just thinking about it.

Their sweet and sour pork Korean-Chinese style. The best ever and we have been regulars for years! I bet you won't know of this place unless your Korean friend brought you there :)

The best Korean-Chinese restaurant in Sydney!! The staff greeted us as soon as we came in the place. We were led to one of the empty tables near the cashier as half of the tables were full already not long after they opened for lunch service. We ordered the signature jajjangmyeon, kkanpungi and jjampong. All the foods arrived shortly after and they were all cooked fresh to order so piping hot. The crispy fried chicken in sweet and spicy sauce is delicious as the chicken pieces are tender inside and crispy on the outside. The sweet sticky and spicy sauce coated each piece beautifully and didn’t taste too overwhelming with spiciness. The black beans noodles was full of umami flavour, packed with onions, cabbage and pork in black bean sauces that has been stir fried over high heat to obtain that smoky flavours from the wok. The spicy seafood noodles soup was full of seafood (shrimp, mussels, octopus and squid) with plenty of veggies and mushrooms. The broth is well balanced and tastes quite spicy and flavourful but not too overly powerful. All three dishes were beautifully cooked and we were very satisfied after the meal (even got some leftovers for takeaway).

This Korean-Chinese restaurant is the best one in Sydney. Clean, Tidy, and spacious for dining in. Also all dishes are delicious, fresh, and worth of paying money. Fried beef & Jajang-myeon(black soybean noodle) Take-out were today’s choice. Yum as always😍😋 Definitely recommended!

Friendly service, calming atmosphere and food was excellent. This place’s reputation took a bit of a dip in the last couple of years and we had our skepticisms, however pleasantly surprised and will sure to be back soon. Good job!
