My beloved fiancé and I both enjoyed a lovely Turkish banquet of a variety of different dishes.
The food was excellent and service was very friendly.
Although it was a quite night, it has a lovely atmosphere about the place, with well thought out modern music playing.
I’d definitely return here again.
Had dinner here with my fiancé on Friday night, the service was 5 star, the decor was warm and inviting and atmospheric, the food was amazing. Full marks. This is gonna be our go-to for a long while. I can’t recommend it enough. It does get busy though so potentially make a booking.
Came across this restaurant online after searching for restaurants in Elsternwick. A good variety of Middle Eastern food. Depending on your mood, a diner can choose between Turkish, Lebanese or Moroccan. We opted for the Moroccan menu. A great choice. Interesting flavors and textures. The chicken in parchment with Moroccan aromats was delicious as was the Mechoi lamb with orange and carrot salad. The staff were very attentive. We will be back to try the Lebanese Banquet.
What a fantastic innovative menu with balanced spices and array of textures. Where else can you get Turkish, Lebanese and Middle-Eastern food in the same place all done so right?
SERVICE: 4/5
Overall welcoming, friendly and attentive. Nothing was too hard when asked. Only improvements were some delays coming out of the kitchen and having to request for things a couple of times before it came out.
The young gentleman who served us for the night was also very knowledgeable about the dishes, the ingredients and comfortable making suggestions for our table.
FOOD: 4.5/5
Pleasantly surprised is an understatement! The flavours in every single dish took you on an internal food safari! You know it's good when after every dish you end with "oh I really like this one, it's my fav dish of the night"...and then you order even more dishes, oops sorry-not-sorry.
In order of "favs":
1. Sultan Lamb Claypot - that was the bombbb! It was a warm hug in a claypot! The slow cooked lamb just fell apart, the haloumi, spices, eggplant and pearl cous cous just oozed together and we just couldn't help ourselves but to order some Turkish bread to mop it all up. I will definitely come back for this one.
2. Mixed Grill for 2 - I've had many mixed grills in my time and this is right up there. Every component was delicious in itself but came together in the perfect marriage on the platter resting on a bed of fluffy saffron pilaf and finished off with the yoghurt dip. Enough for two but I would still order a couple of entree/meze to accompany.
3. Manti - First ever Turkish dumplings I've had and something tells me I will be comparing all others to this one. The dumpling casing was so soft and buttery, the knife just glided right through it. The pomegranate molasses and yoghurt sauce, then sprinkle with pine nuts and coriander took me to dumpling heaven. Like eyes roll to the back of the head level of yum!
4. Meat cigars - Humble little spring roll cigars filled with spiced lamb mince were delightful! The balsamic and diced tomatoes were a good choice to cut through the rich cigars. A little bigger would've been nice so that they don't remind me so much of baklava fingers.
5. Prawn Hotplate - Reading it off the menu, it seemed so simple (garlic, lemon, yoghurt and coriander). It was as described plus a pinch or a.m.a.z.i.n.g.
Prawns were cooked to absolute perfection, juicy and lightly smoked from the impressive sizzle plate.
6. Trio of Dips - Rich and creamy dips that were full of flavour. The zaatar was lovely and fresh to accompany the dips, a perfect introduction to the night. For carb lovers, I recommend to order a side of Turkish bread which comes out warm.
7. Tabouleh - I'm not the biggest fan of parsley so admittedly I rarely order tabouli however hubby does love it. Of the taboulehs I've had, this one was really enjoyable as it was not overpowering and went well as a sidekick for the main dishes. It was dressed perfectly.
8. Dessert for 2 - We were full but HAD TO have dessert. Naturally couldn't decide so this tasting plate was perfect. It had baklava, Turkish delight and the signature dessert of the Turkish delight pudding with Persian floss. Enjoyable but not as impressive as everything else we had. I did see another table have the halva ice-cream which looked great so that will be the next pick.
Bill: All of the above + 4x sparkling water, 2x double-shot Baileys + 2x Coroners + 2x lattes + mint tea = $280 for 4 people. I think worth the pennies based on quality of food. If excluding drinks, definitely value for money.
DECOR & AMBIENCE: 3/5
A little eclectic with a combination of photographs, nostalgic magazine images and a map drawing on the menu board making up the decor. Dark tones and dim lighting also adds to the mood. It's a popular spot so tables crammed in is good for them but expect lots of bumping past seats throughout the night for us.
KID FRIENDLY: Definitely leave them at home and enjoy this one on a date night or with friends.
The 2 mains we had was just amazing. We had the Shish Lamb and stuffed Calamari and it’s one of the best we’ve ever had... Lamb was very flavourful and tender. Calamari was just cooked to perfection, not at all chewy and great combination with the Cous cous... We had the hummus as entree, the bread was great but there’s room for improvement for the hummus. We would definitely be back! Love a place where they do the food right :) kudos to the chef(s)
Clearly the best Middle Eastern Food and Drinks in town -
As soon as you walk in - the whole VIBE takes u back to an exotic holiday in the middle east!
Then the food - OMG - authentic flavours bursting inside your mouth!
Add to that, - Sizzling prawn dish and Rosemary Lamb Stew were to Die for!
But the Dessert won my heart!
Service was attentive and the staff highly knowledgeable and very friendly. The food was delicious and I will definately be going back. The bubaganosh dip is worth it, the homemade Meze spinach and ricotta and lamb fingers were great. My favourite was the Tabbouleh salad. The pic is of the desert which was delicious it was very sweet though.
Great service from charming staff. We shared a lot of dishes - dips, haloumi, falafel, lamb kebabs, chicken signature dish, cabbage salad, halva ice cream. Obviously they use top quality meat and produce. Servings were generous and plating was very attractive. Great flavours and good value. It deserves another visit, when we are going to try some of the cocktails.
Great service, food and prices. We will definately be recommending this restaurant to friends and family. Looking forward to going back again soon.
Middle Eastern at its best. Food is spot-on with lots of spices and flavours. Service is excellent and very helpful with both food & drinks. For those with allergies, this place caters far better than most. Coming back soon.
The lighting in this place did not do my iPhone snaps any favours so I'll spare you the grainy imagery. First up I like what they've done with the cocktails incorporating traditional flavours such as Rose, Turkish coffee and baklava and putting an authentic slant on same tried and true beverages. The menu also sounds very intriguing and offers something a bit different to what you generally see of this cuisine in Melbourne. My interest was piqued by the sultan lamb clay pot with its pear cous cous and makloubeh chicken with grilled eggplant and a cinnamon lamb pilaf. Naturally I insisted my partner order one of the two so I could experience both. I don't know what makloubeh is but it's bloody delicious. Entree wise we started with breads and dips and I thought the portions were a little on the stingy side, but that's possibly because I go through a a Costco 1kg tub of hummus in like a week. The ambiance was enjoyable and the pricing reasonable. They also have a few banquet options if you are feeling hungry and unsure of what to order. Solid
We shared a mixed grill for two, which was tender and tasty. We brought some of it home as take-away, the serving was so generous.
I wasn't so impressed by the milk pudding, but had a taste of the halva ice-cream dessert, which was superb.
1st time for Middle Eastern and we are hooked. Everything here was great, service, food & the initial aromas are amazing. Intimate and dimly lit surroundings adds to a romantic dinner. We ordered the Moroccan banquet and all the dishes were delicious and very filling. The Ras - el Hanout Prawns were so tasty and even something as simple as the Taktouka capsicum dip was an absolute delight with Turkish bread as a starter. Desert was a simple, Saffron and honey poached pear with almonds and that too took our breath away. Perfect night at a wonderful restaurant. We will be back 😊
Just had dinner here grill platter for 2 .This food is for the Gods .The tastiest grilled meats just melted in my mouth served on saffron rice.Service and atmosphere excellent .Crushed backlava is a must and for the Moscato lovers to wash it down with a bottle of Mr.Fox.
We almost missed our booking due to some confusion with the online booking system. But I'm glad we made it. The food was remarkable we started off with Kibbeh Batata for meze; crispy and flavoursome. Some pickled cabbage would go really well with this. This was followed on by the Grill Platter for 2 and eggplant salad on the side. The meat on the shish was beautiful and tender as was the lamb cutlet. And the saffron rice pilaf was perfectly cooked. Everything was perfectly seasoned with the right amount of spices. I couldn't leave without trying the Mahalabieh, the middle eastern version of panacotta. On it's own it's not anything special but the combination of the pistachios, flower syrup and that silky fairy floss all combined made it a most enjoyable dessert. The restaurant is perfect for families or people who want a bite to eat before heading out, with a 2 hour sitting earlier in the night. It certainly became more lively after 8 as the latter crowd arrived . The service was good, very quick. It felt like we hardly had to wait at all for our meals but then with only 2 hours to get out they wouldn't want to take their time. Overall great experience and we'll be back again. Next time with friends.
Brilliant. I have been twice and had the Lebanese banquet and the Moroccan banquet, both were huge portions which would be plenty for any appetite. My personal favourite was the chicken Makloubeh, bloody delicious.
I've had Arabesque on my to-do list for months and months. After a killer Bloody Mary down the road we were feeling hungry so took our chances making an impromptu booking at 8pm. We got in and the food was amazing. The Lamb Claypot was stunning! Just beware when using the restrooms. Somehow it's shared with Tommy Ruff's next door and one wrong turn later, I ended up in Tommy Ruff's with a bunch of strangers thinking I'd arrived in a Twilight Zone. Enjoy...
Price: $40-$50 PP
Ambience: Arabian nights lounge feel
Stand out items: Baklava with Turkish coffee, Falafels, Maloubeh Chicken, Shish Lamb or Chicken
This is hands down one of my favourite restaurants in Melbourne. We usually drive a good hour to get here to eat. My husband and me genuinely love this place. The only reason we tried this place was because about three years ago we had a discount coupon for it, and it was like we had struck gold.
The staff usually call you by name when you walk in, even if you are visiting for the first time. This of course only happens when you have made a reservation. Honestly, I like this personal touch makes me feel at home.
We usually go for the banquet when super hungry and the food is just YUM!
I simply love the Shish chicken and lamb. It comes on pilaf rice, which honestly makes the dish as good as it is. The main courses are quite substantial by themselves as well and come with four meat skewers and rice. We always get the Shish Lamb and chicken and falafels. We never never leave without consuming some of that amazing Turkish coffee baklava. The bitterness of the coffee and the sweetness of the baklava just hits the right spot and is the perfect way of ending the meal.
Most of the food we have tried here has been good, but we like sticking to our favourites, because that is what we go there for.
The place is highly recommended for parties and family get together.
The food it's very good and live music give you very romantic night and make you feel you are in turkey with your dinner. Turkish raki is always good with your meze. I enjoyed my dinner here.
I was looking for some authentic Turkish food that my partner could try, as he had never had it before. Happened across this place in zomato and gave it a go last Thursday night after booking through the app.
Had the dumplings for entree, which were so delicate and buttery - with just a hint of Asian spice. I had the kofta for main, which was well spiced and the salad was fresh and full of parsley (which I love). Slightly dry, but still a nice dish.
My partner had the lamb clay pot and it was AWESOME. We both hate chick peas, but even I was stealing mouthfuls out of it. The lamb was soft, well cooked and the sauce was 👍🏼
But the stellar part of the meal came for dessert. Smashed baklava with ice cream.
Oh my. ❤️
I fell in love.
We left bursting at the seams, relaxed after a few glasses of wine and a lovely 3 course meal.
2 wines, 1 lemonade, 1 lemon lime and bitters, 1 entree, 2 mains and 1 dessert = $118.
Excellent food, great value (big serving sizes & BYO) and nice atmosphere. We had two mains and an entree and were VERY full. Loved the stuffed calamari and slow cooked lamb in creamy sauce. Found the cheese & filo pastries too deep fried for my liking but can't wait to try other things on the menu. Small, intimate restaurant - loved the individual lights over each table & it is clearly a local favourite - no free tables at 8pm - fortunately we had booked. Staff very friendly. Will definitely be back.
Judging by the number of customers that the boss/manager sat down to have a chat with, I'm not surprised that more than half the customers here are regulars. First-timers like us weren't ignored either, service was hospitable and genuine all around. With such beautiful customer service and even more gorgeous and delicious food, I totally understand why anyone would return again and again. We tried the Sultan Lamb Claypot and the Stuffed Calamari - the former was a hearty rich flavourful dish and the latter was light on the palate. Both complement each other, and left us full and satisfied without feeling like we over-ate.
Food was delicious. The service was very friendly but extremely slow, however it was very busy. The only downside of this restaurant is they've crammed as many tables as they can in such a tight area. I was constantly being bumped by wait staff & customers trying to get to their table. There is very little room to move.
Fantastic food, great service that's attentive but not intrusive.
Also has a great atmosphere, perfect for a casual mid week dinner, or even a romantic date night
Having a Turkish background. I decided to tak my Turkish visitors to this restaurant that I had been to a while ago.
Wow what a selection.
my visitors were blown away with the variety, the service and the flavours of the foods that we have geown up with. 10 out of 10 we will definitely come back with my other friends.
My god how good was that. We started with the quail which was tender juicy served with a salad this was followed by lamb hot pot , well let me tell you the taste was out of this world the fusion of spices coupled with sprigs of rosemary just added to the lamb which was absolutely divine . I have eaten in several 5 star restaurants in London , New York and Tokyo but let me tell you this little friendly place in Elsterwick is outstanding. Do yourself a favor try it.
We had expectations when we ordered our meals and we were absolutely amazed. We were blown away with how fresh and tasty it was.
The service isn't that good though. We booked two times with Zomato and two times our table was not ready. And they even bring up the bill once... I saw it afterwards :/ We still recommend it
Delicious. I've been several times and I'll be back! Good food, great service and a nice atmosphere. I enjoy coming to Arabesque and would certainly recommend!
A neighbourhood gem.
Thoroughly impressed with the food here. The Sultan lamb claypot is an absolute must-order. Served with smoking rosemaries, the melt-in-your-mouth lamb pieces and the pear cous cous make us want to go back again and again.
The menu is fairly extensive with many great dishes.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Food 4/5
Service 4/5
Ambience 3.5/5
Come here for the Sultan Lamb Claypot, the chicken with eggplant, and all of the dips. Seriously, all of them, they're made in house. The food here is aromatic, and made with attention to detail, without being pretentious. This is where I take people for a decent feed when they come to Elsternwick (or, just Melbourne generally..).
You will want to try everything, so I recommend convincing your family/friends to share the dishes here.
Amazing place. The food was incredible, service was great and the feel was also good. We sat on a table of 4 with only 3 of us at the table and it was quite cramped, that would be the only criticism. I'll be going back, thanks guys for a great experience!
Had a great meal here while catching up with friends. Food was tasty, reasonable priced and a good amount. Staff were very accommodating to our needs. Will be back
Didn't hold high hopes for this place based on mediocre reviews on here but decided to give it a go as we had Dimmi reward voucher to use.We were pleasantly surprised!
Food was delicious..prawns and hummus for entree and by the time our mains arrived we instantly regretted ordering a main each as they were so big!Certainly could have shared one between us!
Staff were great..we had to rush off to a movie and they were very accommodating to calling the mains when entree arrived, as well as promptly bringing us the bill.
Perhaps we got the better service as we were seated right near the bar/kitchen?!
There were a few trainee staff on that night but they handled themselves well and sought assistance when needed. Was good to see (who we thought was) the manager actually taking the time to show them how to correctly lay out a table and present the plates.
I would take the negative reviews with a grain of salt and give this place a try for yourself.
What an amazing place to dine, bookings essential , can book online.
Middle eastern cuisine, lots of atmosphere and very welcoming staff. It a restaurant that makes you feel transported, and that's before you eat!!
We started with a cocktail :
Sultan’s Rose Garden
Vodka, Turkish lemonade infused with mint leaves & served on rocks & finished with rose liqueur, yum yum yum, what can I say, yum.
We chose to order meze to share between 4:
Arabesque Mini Dip Platter;
Three dips with Turkish bread & pickled vegetables.
Meat Cigars;
Filo pastry of spiced lamb, pinenuts finished with pomegranate molasses.
Bell Peppers;
Marinated roasted capsicum finished with Persian feta cheese.
Sambousik;
Filo pastry filled with baby Spinach & Feta.
And of course a double serve of Turkish bread, this restaurant is a must, it is very relaxing, vibrant and inviting all at the same time. What you don't order you certainly get the aromas from around the restaurant, as all of the other tables order their meals, is just divine. they were plates coming out on fire they were in vodka shots happening at a birthday where in the beaker was in a pan of flames just amazing.
On average is about $50 a head and it is absolutely worth every dollar.
Two hours just flew by and was still able to stay longer. Therefore, if you enjoy Middle Eastern food you should plan and get down there to Elsternwick.
Let me know your feedback see if you experience the same.
Hubby and I came here for a celebration and wasn't disappointed at all. We ordered the banquet and boy it was fulfilling! Very generous servings and it's the best option if you like the sound of everything and don't know what to pick! The staff were attentive and nice so we had a really good night. Place is busy so it got crowded and noisy but that's how you know they're good! Definitely recommend..
Came here without a booking on a Saturday night, and was lucky enough to get a table for 6! The restaurant was very busy and loud, so it was a bit of a struggle for conversation. The menu looked very nice; we ordered the trio of dips with bread for entree, and the chicken and lamb skewers on rice for mains to share. For dessert, we ordered the halva ice cream and the special Lebanese donuts. The food was absolutely amazing! The meat was so tender and cooked to perfection. One of the best restaurants we've had Mediterranean food at. It did take a long time for the food to come out, but I suppose that was expected as it was busy. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming; we all left beaming and with satisfied full tummies! Would definitely go back (:
Had the $50 banquet. All the food was nice, but felt overall it was a bit expensive for what we paid all up for the table. The service started out super attentive but as the restaurant got packed they forgot about us a bit. If you choose to order individual dishes rather than the banquet - I'll let you know we got three mains to share between 5 and then I piece each of all the entrees so it might be cheaper to just choose what u want.
Just had my first visit to Arabesque and I can definitely say my friends and I will be back again and again. The food was amazing and the service was impeccable. We went to Arabesque because they are currently hosting an event called "Feast From the Middle East" and we were lucky enough to try their Turkish specials. We had Turkish dumplings and Turkish delight and all sorts of goodies. The staff were very welcoming and treated us like royalty. This is truly a hidden gem in the heart of Elsternwick!
Ate with friends on a Friday night. Restaurant busy but service not 10/10. Food was lovely, tasty and the shared banquet was enjoyed by everyone, giving a real taste of many popular dishes. Better than other middle eastern experiences I have had at other restaurants in say Brunswick East, would eat here again.
Amazing food & service! Everything is incredible, always impressed at the customer service as nowadays is hard to find! Have been multiple times and will always be back.
The Traditional "Pasha Banquet" is good and at a reasonable price and with attentive service. The last dish is best - Turkish delight and coffee.
Modern Turkish restaurant with traditional food. The cocktails are amazing and is a treat to the eye. The food was great. They have an amazing customer service, they are very thoughtful and attentive, positive attitude. They had live music when we went, we enjoyed it very much
We had 20 people here for a Friday night which they easily accomidated. The inside is warm and inviting with a local feel. Given the number of people, we chose the Pasha banquet which had just enough food but probably lacked in value. It's a little unsatisfying and structured being allocated one piece on each plate. The food was really tasty, plenty of meat plates loaded with middle eastern spices and the best baclava you will find anywhere. I'll be returning with a smaller group for the lamb, fish and desserts.
We ordered the Pasha Banquet for my partner's birthday and were blown away. Every element that comes with every course has a special touch & absolutely sensational. The bread & dips were lovely and fresh. The meat & cheese entrees were made from lovely pastry and the filling was just delicious. The main courses tasted very authentic, which also came different types of rice & salads. We got to try the best of everything, accompanied with the homemade lemonade was refreshing.
But the last element, the baklava was the absolute best we've ever tasted & we have been to almost every middle eastern restaurant in Melbourne. To top it off, the service throughout the whole evening was amazing. They even brought out an extra dessert platter (more baklava!) and candles without me asking and sang happy birthday. Cannot wait to go again. 10/10
Arabesque is in a league of their own. The customer service is second to none and the food coupled with a welcoming atmosphere makes this restaurant outstanding and very enjoyable. The haloumi salad is delicious and the dips, meat dolmades and chicken makloubeh are my favs but there is nothing not worth exploring on their menu! Must try - will not disappoint and I've been coming here for 5 years now!
Amazing as always. Had the $50 banquet, lots of different meals to taste, so delicious. Always a safe bet going to Arabesque on a special occasion as it's always consistently amazing! Great service and food 10/10
Despite being off Glen Huntly road and out of site from the main road, Arabesque is full. This is unsurprising - the service, decor and food are of an extremely high calibre. The starter of trio of dips with Turkish bread elevated my expectations and I was not disappointed. For main, I had the lamb cutlets, cooked perfectly medium rare and paired with roast vegetables. The food was absolutely impeccable and the wait staff were eager and welcoming. My only criticism would be the walkway to the bathroom - shared with an adjacent restaurant, it detracted from the charm of Arabesque.
I would absolutely recommend.
A beautifully created banquet. From the welcoming service, to the warm decor, to the mouth watering banquet, my family and I haven't enjoyed a big Middle Eastern feast this much in years! We will definitely be back. This place is such a credit to its staff who clearly take much pride in sharing their love of their food and culture with their patrons.
Happy Service with Quality Food. We have eaten here a few times and although I was not overly impressed the first time round, I must say the second was terrific.
We sampled and shared quite a lot of the menu items and found all to be great.
Very accommodating with children and a great uplifting atmosphere.
Looking forward to our next visit.
Our new favourite!. We came here for my sister's birthday tonight and Ergun our waiter, overheard us talking about it (we didn't tell anyone!) and at the end of our meal the staff brought out a complementary dessert complete with sparklers and a staff rendition of happy birthday! Aside from that the food is delicious and moreish, the restaurant itself is beautiful and the service is outstanding. We will be back!
We live in Elsternwick and there are many restaurants here. Arabesque is the absolute standout in my opinion ! I love their menu, wonderful and pleasant service every time we go and their deserts are amazing ! Highly recommend !
Amazing Greg Malouf dining experience at Arabesque!
Yummy. The place was jam packed when we arrived as they had a big birthday table. Made for a cosy night but lots of buzz.
Despite concerns the service might have been stretched everything went smoothly and there is obviously an emphasis on checking that everyone is happy as we were asked a few times throughout the evening.
The menu covers a lot of territory so no shortage of choices and the veggie amongst our group was well catered for. Mezzes were all lovely including the standards like lamb cigars, babbaganoush, hummus and
calamari. And the mains of fish, lamb and chicken were all generous and most importantly delicious. No one starved!
Finished with the dessert special, Turkish delight and coffees.
Took our own wine - a rose from Nimes and a Taltarni Shiraz. Both matched the dishes well and served without debate. Small corkage charge of $8 per bottle which is reasonable.
Back to the service - it was our waitress's 2nd night and I wish some more experienced people (at other places) were this good at their job. Mind you her attitude reflected the rest of the team - despite the busy and warm night, everyone delivered with aplomb and smiles. Well done.
Well organised & professionally run establishment.. Hats off to manager who ran a tightship on sat night. They may have been struggling in the kitchen so their was a few tables who seemed annoyed, the table next to ours was one of them. But the manager came and with no bulls*t and explained they were a little behind in the kitchen but assured the table the food would come out shortly, which it did.
Truly amazing. My partner and I had the most incredible experience at Arabesque.
It was the first time either of us had eaten a full course meal of Turkish food and we both agree that we will be going back from now on. We both ordered the banquet, which was quite expensive but well worth it, and devoured everything that was set in front of us!
The homemade hummus was the best we've ever had, the lamb sausages were tender and succulent, the tabbouleh fresh and the homemade lemonade was divine.
Now onto the the main's. We ordered the fish of the day and the beef kofta, and I knew just from tasting the rice that we were not going to be disappointed. The fish was expertly cooked, moist and tangy, whilst the beef was spicy, juicy, and delicious. I couldn't fault either dish, and despite being very full at this point I wished there had been more.
The dessert came out quickly and by this stage I was well and truly full. I made room for the turkish delight and fresh baklava and savoured every bite.
The waitstaff were very attentive, and we were well looked after.
I have no faults this incredible venue and will be recommending it to everyone I know.
Beautiful! Great food and amazing service, really friendly staff
Dine in with fab food and service. Went to Arabesque yesterday for a birthday luncheon. 9 of us had the $40 banquet. Food was very good and service excellent. This is the 4th time we have been to this restaurant and our group only goes back to places we enjoy. Try this one for yourself.
Very pleasent experience. Have visited place over w/end arrived earlier than we have booking for, was treated in very attentive and pleasant manner. Loved the food, great service, it doesn't matter how busy place was, staff was attentive and was happy to answer any questions we have asked :). Definitely would be back and would bring friends over!
Arabesque is the best middle-Eastern place I've been to in Melbourne.
We celebrated my daughter's 18th birthday and my 50th birthday there last night and it was so good I've finally opened an Urbanspoon account so I can share my thoughts.
The food was absolutely delicious and the service was outstanding.
The Sultan Lamb Hotpot was an unexpected delight and we were so glad we ordered it, as the lamb was succulent and the combination of flavours perfect.
At the end of the night the waiter brought out a couple of pieces of lady's finger and Turkish delight with birthday candles, which was a really nice touch.
Arabesque is about a 45 min drive from our home but we'll definitely be back.
Fantastic!!. Fantastic service. From the moment I called to make a booking to the moment I stepped out of the restaurant. Lovely waiter opens the door upon arrival with a warm and friendly welcome. Prompt service with the menus/drinks and food. We had the $65 banquet option and it was delicious! A large variety of food- everyone was very full by the end of it. The only downside of the food was the grilled meats were a tad dry but overall tasty and full of flavours! Will recommend this place to anybody! Thank you
Had a wonderful night at Arabesque on Saturday night.
The food was great, very attentive staff and wonderful ambiance.
Arabesque? Amazing!. Food presentation was great, and soooo damn tasty! And even though the restaurant was packed full, the service was attentive without being intrusive. All in all, a great experience an we'll be coming back!
Amazing!!!! Loved every dish and they waitors were fabulous. Can't wait to come back
Excellent food, great service. It is a bit tight for space and some customers who had late sittings had to wait but maybe that is the curse of a great place to eat. Book early and get there early. Highly recommend it.
Great service and fresh flavours. This spot was a really nice find. The service was excellent, friendly and very attentive and I loved the cozy atmosphere and decor. Our orders arrived promptly, the food was fresh and authentic and the prices reasonable. I'd visit Arabesque again.
Great food and attentive service. Service is very attentive, atmosphere very pleasant (even with a birthday party of 12 nearby) and the food excellent.
We opted for the $40 pp banquet as it was only about $10 more than the main. This included the traditional dips of course, but the hummus was the best I've ever had and the turkish bread much better than just pita. Another plate, then both mains were delicious (you choose 2 of 4), with the lamb juicy and very tasty. Then just a bit of dessert - perfect to finish off.
We asked them to hold off on the second main so we could recover from all the food and they did so very obligingly.
Had the $50 Banquet tonight for 8 of us. Food fantastic, really good quality and delicious. Staff very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.
Awesome Turkish food...Yummy!!!. Had an excellent time for a weekend at arabesque. Apart from excellent middle east food, ambiance and music playlist is very good.
Magic Carpet Ride!. This amazing Turkish restaurant is a feast for the senses (both culinary and oral) and YES i did just say Oral.
All that aside its an aamazing place to enjoy authenetic Turkish food is a 5 star setting.
Located just off Glenhuntly Road, the restaurant is stylish and authentic.
The food is simply amazing. The lamb tender, the dips devine and the Turkish Delight Icecream is worth the flight from Mesopotamia alone.
Just get there and enjoy! I've been twice in 2013 and cant wait to get back!
Delicious food and wonderful service! our group of 18 were well looked after, all dietary needs were catered for with no issues what so ever. Everyone in our group loved it, we will definetly go back again!
Great for take away too.
Sensational, tasty food. Had the vine leaves, beef kofta and lamb tagine. Absolutely amazing.
Excellent food with friendly and attentive service. We shared the sizzling prawns and grilled calamari for entree with the mixed grilled and tabouli side salad which was ample for 2 diners. It was a fresh and healthy dinner with great flavour. Would highly recommend.
Blissful experience!. I had an excellent time at Arabesque on the weekend. It was a great choice of venue for a celebration. The food and service was fabulous and the restaurant has an excellent fit out. I'd highly recommend Arabesque for an enjoyable middle eastern experience. I also have to add the home made lemonade added great touch to all the other good flavors being served!
Yummy yumkins!. West to Arabesque last night, just the two of us - quiet when we got there but very busy by the time we left. We had one of the banquets, excellent value, great variety & beautiful food. The chicken main was incredible & the baklava to die for. Good service,a little slower as they got busy, but not enough to bother us.
Lovely night, very happy...thank you!
