The Mega Grill plates are great and it will fill your up especially if you’re famished and can eat a horse ! It’s chili chutney is to die for which goes well with pretty much everything they have. Place can get quite busy over the nights during weekends. Do order a bread and a side to see how an authentic Lebanese bread tastes like..
I’ve only ever ordered takeaway from this place but it’s top notch every time.
The steak wrap is so yummy. So much meat- such a Generous portion. The tabouleh is not so great but I just order without.
The chopped liver is out of this world- I just keep going back for more. The pita to go with this is so soft and fresh.

Danny's is a great little cafe, packed with a lot of quality food. Consistent quality and service (visited three times to make sure) add to the most delicious food I've tasted for a long time. I ordered a pita pocket with lamb, salad, hummus, and chips. ~$17 in total. They provide a side dish of tomato sauce for the chips as well as the most awesome home made chilli you will taste. The BBQ flavour of the meat is divine. You'll be lucky to finish the jam packed pita pocket. I wholeheartedly recommend Danny's for a lunch or dinner.
Went here for lunch when I first moved in to Caulfield. The serving is really huge, which means value for money. The staff were really warm as well. Somewhere I'd like to go back to :)
Another local from sojourn Melbourne. We were talking about how much we missed this place. The family are loverly, the food is awesome and they made the best Zhoug .
We went to Danny's for brunch, lunch and dinner. I would usually get the falafel pita pocket. The falafel were green and soft in the middle. We tried most of the menu. Good coffee as well. We got caramel fudge with it. Also mint tea in a glass cup.
Though its important to note that they keep Jewish Holidays which lead to me regularly ringing to ask if they we open. Usually before getting out of bed in the morning.

I have take away from here at least once a week. Don't be scared off by the modest setting and well, very unpolished staff. The food is amazing and true to its israeli heritage. Try the beef shashlik pita, eggplant dip and coleslaw.... yum yum yum. Also amazing value for money.
My husband and I drove passed this place a few times and it always look very busy. We said to ourselves that we should try it out one night. Well, tonight was THE night. As "newbies" to any restaurants, we were a bit sceptical on how the food/service/experience would turn out, would we come out disappointed as we experienced many times before. There is always one way to find out - to give it a try. It was quite full but we managed to get a table. Even though there were only 2 staff at the front with a restaurant nearly full, they were attentive and friendly. We got served very quickly. We had the mega shashlik of chicken and beef with 2 salads, pita and chips, and a serving of hummus dip. Wow, the meat was tender and moist - yum! The hummus dip was sooooo good - smooth and not overpowering. We walked out very satisfied and this place ticked all our boxes in terms of taste, food quality, value, and hospitality. Will we go back again? I think the answer is very obvious 😊.

There are many venues in a short drive's radius serving similar middle eastern fare, although Danny's calls you back through your cravings for falafel quite regularly.
Danny's has a relaxed atmosphere with not much in decor except the essentials and a few paintings on the walls. BUT who needs decor when you've got food as yum and service as good as this (In all sincerity).
I ordered the Mega Falafel platter and it tasted as good and traditional as it gets. The quantity is massive for the price and the freshness of the ingredients simply stumps my tastebuds at every visit. If you order anything mega, I recommend having someone to share it with.
The staff are quite attentive and delightfully playful in behaviour as they go about serving each table.
On weekends it can be very busy so it's best to get in a bit early as they don't take reservations.
Bottom line: It's a truly family like atmosphere and the food is ingenious. I'm going to get some take away right now!
This could be my go to place for satisfying dinner. Ordered a veggie soup followed by mega falafel platter and chicken shashlik. Pretty darn good stuff

10/10 LOVED it!. We accidentally parked in front of this restaurant and decided to go in, and we're so glad we did! The staff were incredible, real good quality customer service, so helpful and lovely, the food was wow! Colourful, healthy, delish, and huge portions! It looked fresh and tasted great with lots if variety. I had the falafel platter with an alteration which was not a problem at all, and hubby had chicken shashlik platter. Sooooo good. Can't fault a thing. Will definitely be back. And the best part is neither if us had a single complaint and can't fault it at all! And, its byo with no corkage fee! Bonus! Well done! Only regret is not taking photos of the beautiful colourful meals!

Nice little joint. We went to this cafe about 20 mins prior to their closing time but yet the staff warmly welcomed us in. We ordered for the lamb and chicken shashlik pita pockets. While we waited, the waitress got us hommus and falafels to munch on complimentary! And how good was that.... Seriously yummy hommus and tasty falafels. The pita pockets were quite good and real value for money. Glad we discovered this place. We will surely be back.

Went there last night after reading the reviews. Food was great. We had the recommended falafel ball, mixed grill and schnitzel. They were all good. The meats were cooked just nice and tender. As for the service, the waitress was quick to take our orders and we did not have to wait long for our food. Yes we would definitely go back again but this time maybe not order that much. :)

Was pretty amazing I have to say. From the outside I wasn't keen on going into what looked liked a 'cafe' but would definitely visit again for their muxed platter and amazing red cabbage salad. Yum!

Love the food - Love the people.. I am so surprised there are negative reviews. I eat here regularly both on my own and with friends and family. Often for dinner and sometimes for a capo in the morning before work, occasionally for a snack through the day.
I have only seen the friendliest of staff and the food is absolutely fabulous. It is cooked fresh (I sometimes watch it being prepared) and the meat is just soooo tender. If you haven't tried it, try it you will be impressed as I was. Thanks Danny and Danny, you please my taste buds and stomach.

My favourite restaurant!. To say i love Danny's @ 525 would be an understatement! It is my go to restaurant and I always leave feeling full and totally satisfied. The food is perfection, from the hummus to the meat, everything is always fresh and tasty. Took my dad there on father's day and now he's hooked! Service is quick and friendly, even when its busy. I recommend Danny's to all my friends, try it and you won't be disappointed!
The service is great- even when it's. Busy, which is often you get a smile! .... And the food is consistently great with crunchy falafel balls and the best and creamiest humus ever. The owners are passionate about their product. From entree to my regular cup pf peppermint tea its perfect. I'm there 3 times a week sometimes even if its just for dessert and a cuppa Well done!

Danny's, the place to be.... Me and my friend decided to give Danny's a try. We had to wait 30 min or so for out food to be served. The place was very busy so its understandable. The food itself was amazing and fresh. The portions are great. me and my friend are in our 20th and we like to eat well but in this case, we just couldnt finish our meals. We paid $20 each but it was worth every penny. I will definitely come there again soon. Finally, I have an easy choice of a restaurant to have a nice dinner.
Little israel. This food is about as brilliant and as close you get to the perfection of food found in israel. the food is simply SO GOOD and worth every dollar. The servings are most generous, but bottom line is - it's so so good. Go!!

Make mine Mega. Danny's @ 525 opened in November 2011 after fully renovating the space vacated by Madam Adams Café. The folks behind the venture clearly have a loyal following, as most evenings the casual restaurant is full to the brim. Whilst they don't take bookings, I've noticed the tables tend to free up by around 8pm thanks to the swift service and age of the early dinner crowd.
The menu comprises Middle Eastern favourites, including dips, salads, falafel, shashliks, steaks and schnitzels. There's a 'fish of the day' and a few other specials outlined on the blackboard.
I visited midweek on my own and was impressed by the genuinely warm and attentive service.
My 'Mega Grill Plate' comprised two generous lamb shasliks, chips & salad, and a basket of pita bread for ($24). The lamb shasliks were cooked to the required doneness and the salads were simple but fresh. Getting through the entire plate of food represented quite a challenge. In essence, it's honest, straight up, flavorsome food without pretension.
I've also dropped in for lunch a couple of times and had the chicken schnitzel in pita with dips & salads ($12.50). Lunch time is a lot quieter, so worth bearing in mind if you're struggling to secure a table for dinner.
Great evening. Went to Danny's the other night. I found it to be a restaurant that caters to all. There is something on the menu for every age group. Fresh food, good service and happy faces is what you will see when you dine there. Best dips, meat cooked to perfection and great falafel. My suggestion, try it you will enjoy it.

Great Atmosphere Great Food. My first visit to Danny's was amazing. Friday night and we were lucky to get in and as they don't take bookings we could see that people were prepared to wait for an opening. The atmosphere was electric and although you would not choose to come here for a romantic dinner for two, our experience was still one of a great night out. It was like being part of a big family, people of all ages laughing and enjoying the food. The owners and staff were welcoming and friendly, taking time to explain the menu and change things around if need be. When our food arrived we were in awe of the generosity of the meal but most of all, as we munched away between moans and groans of pleasure, just how fresh everything was. The meat melted in your mouth and the salad was crisp and fresh simple food done to perfection, something that a lot of restaurants tend to get wrong. Menus don't always have to be fancy but they need to be done well and with love. Danny's@525 has a real buzz about it, and I don't think the "luck" of getting a table does them any harm. In fact I think it gives the restaurant a vibe that somehow you were privileged enough to get in and partake of the food, a bit like the Seinfeld episode with the line "no soup for you". Danny's has a "no table for you" thing going on. Love it, well done Danny's we will be back.
Great. The best falafal and hummus ive ever had. Salads were great and the meat platter was served and cooked to perfection. All i can say is that this is one of the best restaurants is Glenhuntly rd. I will be back for sure.
This is the place to go. Great food and service with friendly staff.
Danny's has a few negatives. Can't get a car space within 100m, have to wait half an hour for a table( still no bookings...) The waitresses, demand large tips. The only good points are that the food is AMAZINGLY good! and the cost is more then reasonable.
Seriously amazing food! Best salad I’ve had in ages! The falafels were so flavourful and didn’t even need sauce as they were nice and moist!
Went here the other night and wow was this place good. Food was absolutely delicious, could not fault anything. The meat was incredibly tender, melting in your mouth. We had a bit of everything which is what I would recommend however if you are in a small group, you must try the ‘Kebab-chichi’ and falafels. You can’t really go wrong with anything you order. The customer service was fantastic and the owner is very welcoming. Can’t wait to go back very soon!
