Review The Elsternwick Club - Elsternwick

The Manager. The one with the big mouth and short stature. What an absolute embarrassment you are to for someone who has tricked the owner of this establishment that you are worthy, even deserving of the title Manager. You are ignorant, abusive loud mouthed clown. You are disgraceful and a walking joke. How miserable and insecure you must be. Don’t come over to a customer, ask them a question then not allow them to respond. By raising your voice louder and louder doesn’t make you a person of authority it makes you bully and shows how weak and pathetic you really are. Your employment should be terminated effective immediately. You are no example to junior staff. Absolutely disgusting behaviour. Did you hear what all the customers were saying about you. Your known for this type of abusive behaviour. Your mother never taught you manners did she?! You are the biggest degenerate I’ve ever witnessed.

Great, friendly local spot, with classic Bowlsy beer prices and poker on thursday nights. Would be better if the kitchen was open again, but thats more a covid problem than a club choice it seems.

Lots of fun barefoot bowling. I highly recommend it, no experience necessary and our host, Jimmy, was entertaining and helpful.

A few great staff who know what quality customer service is, otherwise loud and abrasive, rude, self centered and obnoxious. Restaurant ordinary, prices on a par with hotels so no joy there. Members are generally friendly but some often drunk, loud and using bad language outside the bar areas. i guess you can't have it all. This club has a lot of promise, and with several adjustments and modifications to staff, their attitudes and the dining room it should shine. Further investigation required !!!!

Have eaten here a couple times on a Wednesday night. It's quiet: maybe two tables of people eating in the restaurant. The food is traditional and done quiet well, but come early or they'll be packing up already. Seems the real locals drink around the corner in the other bar, which is a bit more lively.

Great place for some pub poker I went on a Sunday there was around 80 people there it was a terminator event where you got $5 bounty chip and if you knocked out a player you received their bounty chip and exchanged it for $5 at the end of game, if you go out you give your bounty chip to the person that knocked you out

Being a lawn bowler I've been lucky enough to have played at a lot of clubs. And Elsternwick club is one of them. It's tucked away in a side street and from the front you wouldn't think that there is a bowling club there. And that's because it's a pokie venue. For some clubs having pokies has been a life saver as it has provided them with money which if they didn't have would have meant nothing more than closure. Overall a great club which offers everything that a bowl's club should. Let's not forget the members there are very good people, to finish off if you haven't been there go and have a roll who knows you might enjoy it and get to bowl for the club
We're given a $100. voucher for Christmas. Went to the restaurant for lunch and spent $70.
We're told that as we did not spend the, we had to buy a bottle of wine for $30
In the end after some heated conversation, were given a $30 voucher.
LESSON-Do not buy any voucher for gifts as your guests will be embarrassed

Friday night dinner with the family at the Elsternwick Club. A local favourite, with regular specials including $19 steak night on Fridays. I opted for the eye fillet with peppercorn sauce. The meat was cooked beautifully 'medium' - the inner flesh tinged red, still tender and juicy. The sauce was a tasty accompaniment, savoury with bullets of peppercorn spice. The chips were crisp and the side salad fresh and simply dressed. Service was friendly and warm. Overall, a satisfying, value for money meal.

Went here after getting a groupon voucher and have to say I was very impressed.. Not only was service great but meals tasty and big even though we had a voucher.. Really didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised!! A hidden gem I say!!

Good restaurant for the price you paid. It is not pub food. Go for the steak or duck. The chef specialty is steak and duck.
