Really enjoyed our Thai tonight and will definitely be back!
I ordered the Green Curry which was so authentically Thai and had just the right amount of heat. I find other green curries in the area are often too mild for my liking. The portion size was generous too and better value for money than other local Thai eateries. There was so much chicken in the curry, I actually couldn't finish it.
My partner had the Massaman curry and thought it was one of the best he's had. The roti was so good too!
I was surprised to see the overall rating isn't higher, hoping they will prove their consistency in future.
The oyster chicken and vegetables I had was very nice . The restaurant was empty . There was just one waiter . Nonetheless I enjoyed the meal .
For a quick yummy takeaway this offer does the job! The pad Thai isn't the best I've ever had, but still a filling meal, and the coconut rice was so fragrant. Even the vegetarian spring rolls went down a treat
We had a lovely meal, I felt it was good value. Staff don't hover over you while your eating which is good. The restaurant is nice, Cosy feel yet roomy, not cramped. The tom yum soup was exceptional, I also had the pad Thai, it was very nice and a good size portion. I would definitely go back.
Our regular local thai. Consistently good. Far better than say Kotaraya for thai food. Recommend for takeaway or eat in. We live nearby and find them fast friendly and good quality.
My usual takeaway restaurant. Food delivery is very fast (within half an hour) and the curries are good for the prices paid. Red curry is sweeter than the green one but I love them both. Staff is always very polite and friendly. For a small local restaurant, this place has done a great job in feeding me.
After getting takeaway there several times, I ate in last week and although it wasn't busy it was just a really nice meal you can enjoy with a couple of people where it's BYO (very important). It's position down Glenhuntly road isn't great, but it suits the mid week meal that is a bit different and still feels very home cooked. I love the meal sizes and it's very affordable and the people working there are so very polite and easy going.
A lot of the reviews appear to be negative mainly in relation to the quality of the food and the wait time. We had a lovely time and thought the food was really quite good. Maybe they are better organised for dine-in customers rather than take-away. Prices are very reasonable for the portion size and quality. And Singha beers are only $5. We really enjoyed the salad which was huge, loads of lettuce, cucumber and tomato, topped with a delicate peanut sauce. There were lots of vegetables in the main dishes too which I really enjoyed. The ginger sauce was delicate and worked perfectly with prawns. The chicken green curry was a solid representation of the classic. Coco Thai also accept the entertainment book for 25% off which represents sensational value. I wouldn't cross town for Coco Thai but if I was in the area again I'd be pleased to pay them another visit.
5 of us went there around 2100Hrs. on a Sat Night after a movie.Just as we enjoyed the movie ;we enjoyed our dinner.Great.Thanks N keep it up.Ravi n Friends.
I love authentic Thai food, not overly westernised Chinese style Thai food. This is why you will find me coming back to Coco Thai time and time again.
Our reliable dinner whenever we crave for Thai. Get the Thai Green Curry, Pad Thai Prawn and Spring rolls. You can also call ahead and pick up the good after.
Great Thai food, amazing value and generous portions. We order takeaway from here once a week and will continue to do so. $14.50 for main and rice which is enough for 2.
Delicious food at a great price. If you are looking for yummy food at a cheap price, highly recommend Coco Thai. I have eaten here many times and also got home delivery. I would recommend eating in, the food does seem to taste nicer fresh. We've tried quite a few dishes and have not disliked anything. The chicken spring rolls and chicken satay skewers were nice entrees, chicken satay with vegetables and green curry with coconut rice for mains. Our friends had the ginger beef and said it was really good. This is the kind of place you come to if you just feel like a nice quiet meal thats tasty and cheap. Definitely recommend.
I have eaten here numerous times and it's always been good food and a relaxing atmosphere. Most of the negative reviews are from people doing online orders / delivery. Go into the restaurant and you will see the difference.
The most consistantly good local Thai restaurant. A bit slow at times but otherwise very good.
Try the Cashew Nut Duck.
Very nice. A pleasant family restaurant. We had spring rolls, satay chicken, and mussaman curry - all tasted how it should, and not too spicy for the kids.
Great Tasting. Wow, this restaurant having amazing food, everyone must try. The Thai beef curry is melting on my mouth. the veggie is crunch and nice
Nice spot. Enjoy last night dinner, and perfectly cook, coco thai is better than before.
Very happy. Fast service, good food, and reasonable price if compare with local thai restaurant. we will order again. My children also like it
Best Thai Food in Melbourne. This is my fisrt time dine in at Coco Thai Restaurant in Elsternwick and the food is great . I come to this shop because my friend ussually order delivery and he said the food is good and the delivery time is promptly.
The vanue is modern and the price is cheaper than other thai restaurant surrand this area. The waitress is very kind and very attentive. I have 2 kids and they like to eat the spring roll , and they finish it. The main that I order is the whole barramundi with chu chee souce. It is very appetising and delicious. I will definitely come back with bring my friend and family to this restaurant. Two thubs up for Coco Thai Restaurant
Not bad. Cheap food and tastes above average in my opinion. One waitress was particularly sour but the other was pleasant, although a little aloof. I'd give it another go.
Worth Coming. Good Thai food and great service.
We when there last week and I was very impressed from the food and the service.
defiantly worth a try
Great Thai Delivery!. I had the Duck Curry, Pad Thai and the Soup with Prawns. Everything was hot and really Tasty. Lots of meat and seafood instead of just veggies. Delivery took about an hour but i did an early order around rush hour so that was probably the problem.
Best Thai in Melbourne!. I'm pretty much on a first name basis with the delivery driver for Coco Thai i have it that often!
The Tom Kha soup and the Pad Grapow Gai being my personal favourites!
Great food, and coeliac friendly too. Can't wait to return!
Yummy food, delivered hot. Duck curry is delicious
Delectable :). Delicious and authentic, Coco Thai is another little gem along my home street. I especially loved their Tom Yum soup, saucy pad thai and thick, creamy, duck curry (even though I'm not fond of duck usually, this is a credit to how delicious it was!)
Sad to say that the stir fry was nothing special. But I'll definitely be back for the pad thai and tom yum soup again!
Ps. from the looks of things, be sure to book a table next time before you decide to dine in as they have a small dine-in area and when we went today (Sunday night, long weekend, it filled up fairly quickly). Otherwise, take away is another popular choice :)
The food was fresh and tasty
