I've eaten here a couple of times. The food is terrific and the staff are very obliging. Stairs to the entrance can be a problem for frail/elderly.
Every time I drive past I hanker to go back.
Great Lebanese food in a warm and pleasant atmosphere. Food is great; the dips are probably the best I have ever had. Baba Ganoush has a wonderful smoky smell and flavour, and their Hommos is fresh and mouth watering. I have had great kebabs here, fresh and well marinated fish, and great tagine. Service is good, so is belly dancing on Saturday nights. Highly recommend.
Very beautiful restaurant. The restaurant served delicious food, had friendly service and good entertainment. Was definitely the perfect place for dinner and will definitely return here soon !!
The ambience is lovely, the staff very friendly and attentive. We settled on the banquet with our group of 8, the food was good, the dips were delicious, everything else was good to very good. The kafta was a little spicy, yet it was lovely. The homemade lemonade is sensational! Thoroughly enjoyable.

Good food, wonderful ambience.
Maybe because it was a week night. Maybe because it wasn't too crowded. Whatever the reason, I really felt that the ambience of Maroush was a big part of what made it so enjoyable. Walking in past the outdoor balcony dining area and past the fountain, we were asked to choose our seating rather than being told where to sit. Instrumental music was playing softly at a volume not loud enough to be annoying, allowing my sister and I to talk and laugh over our dinner. This is what intimate dining is about. The tablecloths were crisp white linen, as were the napkins. The owner, who for some reason reminded me of the musician Frank Zappa, was very courteous and attentive.
We started with entrees of Falafel (chick pea and herb balls) which came with a tahini sauce which was necessary as Falafel tends to be dry by nature. The other entree was mekanek, a plate of five or so thumb sized lamb mince meat sausages (no skin). The Falafel came with a little salad and the mekanek came with some parsley and red onion. Fresh lemon was also there to squeeze over the mekanek and went down a treat. Parsley is everywhere in a lot of Middle Eastern dishes so you need to be aware of this if you don't like it much.
Our mains were a plate of shish kebab of lamb, which was perfectly cooked and tender (with fluffy yellow rice) and some stuffed zucchini. I am not a big fan of zucchini but Maroush's version was lovely, reminding me in taste of stuffed vine leaves. It came with a tomato-based sauce that seemed like it had lentils or split peas in it as well and I enjoyed this dish more than I thought I would have, it was a winner.
We had enough room for some dessert, so I had a Lebanese custard (which was really the consistency of gelatin but had a wonderfully tart lemon flavour that was an appropriate cleansing ending to the meal). We also asked if we could get 2 pieces of baklava and 2 pieces of Turkish delight instead of the allocated 4 pieces of each. No problem. Good flexibility.
My sister had two glasses of bubbly and I had a James Squire Golden Ale, which was a nice change of beer from the usual suspects.
Overall, our dinner at Maroush was thoroughly enjoyable and our pot luck choice ("let's try this place called Maroush") ended up being a memorable dining experience. Sometimes you just get lucky.
The service was amazing here, felt really cared for. And the food was another thing all together! The banquet was a great choice and there was so much flavour in every dish. Great for a date night or a night out with the family! They also catered for me as I am gluten free.
Lovely night at Maroush. Great food, the banquet was perfectly portioned and good value for money. Friendly staff and even some entertainment in the form of a dancer! It's a bustling place so the atmosphere is quite loud. All in all, good fun.

Was greatly surprised how Lebanse cuisine has so many spices which are well used and makes the food yum.
Tablouleh, Hummus, was grear and fresh. Falafel was light and crunchy and sauce with it was great.
Prawns in skewers was great idea and tasted just well on the palate. Freshly squeezed lime was doing its match with a flame of chill flakes.

An hour’s drive to Eltham just to eat here meant high expectations. The meat cigars, selak and rice were very tasty. The moussaka was the most textually sumptuous eggplant I’ve ever had however I wouldn’t get it again for the price and it being too salty. Lamb skewers bursted with flavour. Chicken breast skewers were slightly dry. Service is mostly warm and always professional, one waiter sang happy birthday with is always a great. The atmosphere is lively (and very noisy) with beautiful decor.
Absolutely loved our first night here on Friday night, and plan to visit many many times in the future. We decided to go with the banquet so we could try a lot of things that we probably normally wouldn't order. We started with the most delicious dips I have ever had. And I was so pleased to see delicious gf bread come - it was so yum. But I did make the rookie mistake of eating too much bread - there was a LOT of food to come. Everything we had was absolutely moreish - the falafel was the best I have ever had. And the turkish delight was the most delicious one I have tried. Not too sweet, and filled with nuts. We can't wait to come back!
This restaurant is amazing! Our banquet was truly wonderful. All the food we tried was very traditional, loads of flavour and extremely filling. Service was outstanding, staff genuinely were very pleasant. Highly recommend this place.

We came to you restaurant on Friday the 18th of August. We ordered the banquet vegetarian with the option of fish or seafood. The entrees were fantastic. but the main course of eggplant and a mushroom dish was disappointing. as the menu did not include any seafood or fish as requested, i feel that if it was only going to be vegetarian a spinach pie and maybe a asparagus tart would have been a great compliment to the starters , sharing a pie and tart Lebanese style would have been the next best thing if omitting any seafood. I have been chef and owner of hospitality outlets for many years and i hope that you look at my criticism as constructive. I would come to you restaurant again as i did enjoy the night and most of the food supplied. But if i did i would order separately the dishes i would enjoy. P.S please make your menu more fish and seafood friendly, Regards Kel

Honestly it was mind boggling on how the staff can cater to such a large group in a packed restaurant truly blows my mind.
I have worked in fine dining, so I know what I am talking about and for me to be blown away by the quality of the food and the service here - that's a rare feat to achieve !!
Congratulations to all the helpful and wonderful staff, the chefs, the waiters and so forth to produce a truly wonderful establishment and experience.
We loved the entertainment also as it was a lot of fun and excelled beyond our expectations.
The food was so delicious and amazingly presented and service was truly incredible.
I definitely wish to return in the near future.
Being Lebanese myself I have high standards for quality, traditional and fresh food to be served in restaurants. We ordered several share platters, which all came out relatively quickly however the staff did forget one of our meals and they took a while to take our order. My favourite dish was the Halloumi salad and the traditional dish tabbouli which were both full of flavour. Everything was presented well and looked appealing. Overall, my visit was pleasant and I look forward to ordering some of the different options next time!
First time having Lebanese cuisine and it was really good! So many entrees, the meats were tender and tasty. I was too full for dessert.

Dined here last night. We had the seafood banquet which included traditional Lebanese dips as part of the entrée and some chicken and meat dishes. All of the dishes were very good. The seafood, (some prawns, calamari, scallops) prepared in different ways tasted very fresh and all were of the right level of tenderness. Service is excellent with very polite and obliging staff. If you are going to have the banquet, make sure you are hungry because as the name suggests (banquet) there's plenty of it!
Not bad at all. The food here was of a pretty high standard， with the service being pretty good too. We went with the traditional banquet，and were overwhelmed by the quantity of good food. Highly recommended.
Ok so some really good aspects of Maroush, the venue is amazing and has a great feel about it, the tables thank god unlike many other restaurants actually fit 4 people rather than being cramped up and the service was fantastic not to mention they give you the option to have a break between entree and mains to relax and take it all in rather than make you feel like they want you out the door asap like so many other places. We got traditional, vegetarian and seafood banquet and the food was exceptional! The belly dancer was a no show which we were told would be between 8-9 but that's not necessarily a bad thing haha. All in all a wonderful experience

We frequent this fresh, authentic, Lebanese restaurant. Oftentimes we simply opt for the banquet option, and never leave feeling hungry!
Great for big groups of a couple of diners, the service is always impeccable and food so consistent its almost a staple of our monthly meals due to the nostalgia we now associate with dining at this family friendly, delicious restaurant.
Great food and service. Went for my mums birthday and there was a baby at our table. The staff were awesome and the food was delicious. We had the banquet and we were very satisfied indeed. Dips, entrees and mains were great. I'm not a huge fan of shish kabobs but these we're tender and scrumptious. Loved the Turkish delight and my brother enjoyed the Lebanese coffee. I had a pretty good Turkish beer.

Popular for a reason
Maroush's street sign is garnished with fairy lights, the entrance houses a tranquil fountain and in the restaurant there are huge silver jugs, all in an effort to create atmosphere, one presumes. But I doubt that is the reason for its appeal.
Maroush was packed with family and friend groups and a scattering of couples but the staff never gave the impression that they were rushed. We were acknowledged and seated promptly. Service was efficient, the food arrived quickly and the staff never hovered too closely.
We had the halloumi cheese, skewered prawns, lamb shawarma & maroush chicken. The holloumi was coated in a light batter and was entirely different from the Greek style. Instead of salt and grease, it was light and spongy with just a hint of saltiness and served with a little green salad. It was just delicious. The chicken and lamb were tender, the spiced rice had a hint of cinnamon and by the end of it we were more than satisfied. This place is popular and, after our meals, I could see why - everything was delicious!
Beautiful restaurant with a great atmosphere. The food was delicious however I feel the quantity is not enough for how much you are paying per person for the traditional banquet. Will definitely still be coming back. The belly dancer on the Saturday really topped things off nicely.

Love this place. Exotic fare and superb service. A little on the expensive side, at least when I last went a year ago, but the food is worth it. Having now visited perhaps a dozen times, I'm yet to be disappointed.
I was a little bummed that I couldn’t get mixed kebab, and had to ‘settle’ for Shish Tawook ($27) instead. The chicken was top-notch, heavily marinated with herbs and garlic, and grilled until the edges were caramelised and charred. The sides were also refreshingly different; the fluffy rice pilaf was sweetened with cinnamon, whilst the usual tabouli was mixed through with a mash of smoked eggplant. It’s a little bit fancy for kebab, but I have to admit it makes for a nice change.
Maroush lived up to our expectations and was worth the 45-minute drive to experience, what some say, is one of the best Lebanese restaurants in the suburbs. The dinner started off well with the dips and pita, except for the olives...the pits broke into tens of pieces in the mouth. The falafels were well presented, and fatoush salad one of the best I've ever had in terms of flavours. The kids loved their calamari with zatar and lime. The moussaka was lip-smacking, except that the quantity was too small for a $27 vegetarian main. The lady waiter was a bit weird...when asked for a recommendation on a vegetarian main she was at a bit of a loss, but said she could tell us what was most popular. Overall, Maroush was good enough for us to want to come back.
Amazing atmosphere, super friendly staff. I've been here quite a few times and tried many dishes and not one has disappointed! Looked good, tasted good, and surprisingly quite filling. The dips were delicious only wish there was more, and the meat was cooked really nicely and full of flavour. Will definitely be coming back for more!
Came here for dinner with a group of friends on a Saturday night. We all went for the traditional banquet. I had been here on a previous occasion and found the mains a little disappointing, however this time round the entire banquet was perfect, absolutely delicious from start to finish. Highly recommend!
Nice Lebanese food & entertainment. We decided to check out Maroush as we were organising an event for 100 guests. The food was really good, had the banquet & everything was just so tasty & flavorsome. Waiter was great, very attentive & the entertainment everyone loved. The only reason why we didn't choose to go ahead with the event booking was everyone had to be seated in different rooms. Good for small occasions or a romantic night out but not for a large group.
Went for dinner with friends on Sat night. Prompt service & good ambience. The dips were very tasty as well as the sausage and calamari entrees. Mains of lamb/chicken shawarma & Lamb tagine were generous and flavoursome. Only let down was slightly limited dessert options.

What let this place down though was the food itself. We ordered the banquet between 4 of us and it felt like they filled us up on breads and dips which were nice but when you are paying 45 bucks a head you want there to be a little more emphasis on the mains. The food was good but not great and it was slightly overpriced. I still had an overall positive experience but i feel that it is too highly rated on Zomato.

Sensational. On a Friday or Saturday night, large groups are restricted to the banquet meals. Choices are "traditional", seafood (which includes meat and chicken) or vegetarian. At our table only one chose the vegetarian, and he was super impressed. The seafood and traditional banquets were also absolutely delicious.
There wasn't one dish I wouldn't want to eat again. The standouts where the pitta chips and hoummos, falafel, prawns, lamb, eggplant veggie stew and the mahalabia. Many at our table are veteran diners of Lebanese cuisine and each one sang the praises of the food.
The service was generous, warm and completely in the same league as the food. The decor was particularly attractive, though the stairs from the carpark a bit of a challenge to anyone with mobility issues.
I'm keen to go back. Well worth every cent spent.
Delicious. Second time here and still outstanding. The food here is simply delicious, full of exciting and robust flavours. Every dish has its own personality. Particularly liked the Sambousik entree and the wonderfully subtle flavours of the Mahalabia for dessert. A restaurant I would be confident in recommending. A must.

Sensational!!!. Went to maroush last night , friends from south africa here . " wow " food was amazeing . The best lebanese restuarant in melbourne . The dips were to " die " for . Best hummos and baba ghanoghe - fresh and taste delicious . The seafood and lamb absolutely yummie and the chicken ( which i never eat) was divine . Great food , great service .

Celebrated a birthday here last night with family. What a great night. So much delicious food! We are still full the next morning. Highlights were the delicious prawns and scallops as well as the pastries filled with cheese and meat. Had kids along too and they had a great time. Thanks Maroush!

We eat here regularly and absolutely love it. Staff are very friendly and make an effort to know your name. The food is amazing. Fresh (Emanuel don't know what your talking about re:microwaved), and so tastey. LOVE!
Love It. We love this place - as locals we have dined in several times and get takeaway regularly. The value for money is excellent, the meals never fail to satisfy and most importantly I can take my two primary school children here and they are welcomed and will eat everything on the menu. This is a great example of knowing your market and catering to it perfectly.
We have been here both for casual dinners and special occasions - no one ever leaves hungry and the staff are amazing.

Upon entering you feel you have just arrived in a magnificent arabian garden.
The design, service and ambiance are a treat on their own. What can be described as a cocktail of Mediterranean and middle eastern design the layout had a feeling of elegance and style...This was reflected in the flavours and quality of food.
You get what you pay for and the quality of ingredient was exquisite.
They were immensely accommodating of my partners allergies and catered the banquet to suit.
The kitchen is visible and was very clean even though the restaurant was full.
Being in the food and service industry this would most certainly be the most authentic flavoured, best serviced and decorated middle eastern restaurant I have ever been to.
I would highly recommend. It's an evening out and experience not just a meal.

Sam. As 1st timers to a lebanese restaurant we were very pleasantly surprised. The staff were fantastic, the atmosphere lovely and the food awesome. Being a Coeliac going out to dinner can be a challenge. Not here though. The choices were many and the freshness and tastes were Devine. We will definitely be coming back many more times. Maroush Eltham < Dunyazed Balwyn. Nice atmosphere and service, food was fine, banquet was reasonable, price was expected but do yourself a favour and drive an extra 15 minutes to Dunyazad in Balwyn, Maroush should take some tips from these guys thats for sure!

Just left Maroush after a dinner out with friends, the most beautiful authentic amazingly fresh middle eastern cuisine money can buy. We had the seafood banquet which comes with all the dishes from the traditional banquet plus rockling fish, grilled calamari, garlic prawns & scallops! Everything was so fresh & beautiful its no wonder this place is always busy. This is about my 4th time here and they are always consistant. A big plus to all the staff.. They are attentive, accomodating & polite. Highly recommend Maroush
Excellent food and service- cozy. Two girlfriends and I had a beautiful night at Maroush recently and found the service to be excellent and the food amazing. I was pleased to see the wine list was not your usual boring and that there were top shelf spirits on the bar.
We chose the banquet which quite honestly was so much food that we waddled out at the end of the night. The lamb was delicious and the accompanying rice dishes had loads of flavour.
The restaurant was fairly full and they probably could have had some more staff on however the staff did an amazing job considering how busy they were. We did find it loud with so many in the space and it was difficult to hear each other however that was really the only item I could really say was disappointing.
Well done to Maroush - we will be back.

Pretty fantastic. My partner and I and our friends had a lovely meal, we had never has Lebanese food before so we went for the Buffett menu, was more thank enough for four of us and were stuffed by the end. Great food and great price, enjoyed then entertainment too.

Fantastic Restaurant (one slip). Friday night dinner booked thru urban-spoon that day. Great food and fantastic service when we arrived. Terrific atmosphere. Somewhere between end of mains and before dessert they forgot about us but recovered in the end with a free coffee and terrific service. very friendly and professional. Belly dancer was a nice treat.

Excellent food & service. I booked a function room for my wife's 50th on 26/1/14, we invited 32 people for dinner. To say the food was AMAZING is an understatement. The service A1, the staff were attentive & quick to remove or refill anything that required attention.
Nothing was to much trouble, from the redesign of cake table, an extension cord for the musician and much more, all with a smile on their face.
We had numerous of compliments from guests re the delicious food & restaurant setting, very exotic.
Not only will we not hesitate to book again & again, but we believe Maroush has lot more customers from our wonderful evening.

Make sure you do not eat anything for breakfast or lunch when dining at Maroush. We ordered the seafood banquet. It was absolutely delicious and there was so much food. The prawn skewers were outstanding. At the end, we were all so full I needed to be rolled out the door to the car.
So good, ate so much, can't walk or talk properly. Highly recommend eating here, you'll be hooked and want to come back the next day
A great gem in the suburbs!. What a delight this place was. Excellent food, great service and nice atmosphere and it beats hands down any other Lebanese restaurant I have tried in Melbourne. Every dish was fantastic in the banquet and it was nearly faultless except their Baklava being VERY dry and tasteless. I have to say I enjoyed Maroush FAR more than the famous lebanese restaurant "Abla's" in the city which for some reason is popular in the press but I found it very disappointing. Maroush brought Lebanese cuisine out of the cheap and nasty into a bit more refined and elegant. Definitely recommended.
Bliss. My partner and I are locals and have ordered take away from Maroush multiple times - and I am yet to figure out why the staff are always so happy and lovely!! It must be a brilliant place to work, and that is reflected in the quality of the service and, most importantly, the food. Always spiced to perfection, and the food is extremely consistent, always cooked to the same standards each visit. I highly recommend the meat cigars, haloumi or fried pita with labnee for entree - and for the main - I am still learning to remember the names of these! Enjoy!

Excellent birthday dinner!. Always had a thing for authentic Middle Eastern cuisine and Maroush kept popping up in my searches, albeit being located all the way in Eltham. It was THOROUGHLY worth the drive.

I was tempted to go with the banquet but didn't know how much I could handle so ordered individual dishes instead. A mistake I will not make again the banquet is the highlight of this restaurant!
First of all I would like to give an honourable mention to the Rose Blossom lemonade. Not in the menu however please do ask for it you will not be left unsatisfied. It is not a drink to skull down far too sickly sweet and tangy however it is perfect for cleaning your palate and taking full advantage of the flavours this place has to offer! delicious!
Entrée did not disappoint, exactly what I was looking for with zesty, full flavoured dips and cleverly done Lebanese bread. However I do not recommend the chicken wings (Jannaweh). Although they look promising on paper, the dish came across as bland and almost tasteless if it were not for a slice of lemon on the side. Stay away from this one but please do try the rest!
The mains present as homely and lacking in presentation for this end of the market however when you take into consideration the atmosphere and the type of cuisine Maroush is targeting it fits perfectly. Had the Sheesh Tawook and I must say it's probably one of the best I have had. Meat cooked perfectly and with so much flavour I'm getting hungry typing about it. Only downside was the rice, too dry and has tell tale signs of "I scooped it out from the bottom of the rice cooker"
For desert you cant go wrong with Baklava and Lebanese coffee. Perfect combination, presentation and the best way to finish an epic meal.

Had the banquet. The lemon rose water drink was excellent and the food portions were just enough to satisfy. Some menu items were a bit too scarce but overall a solid meal worth the price. The coffee at the end with turkish delight is to die for!

Foods taste very good and returant location is perfect. They have their own car park with about 10-12 spaces. Stuff are friendly and helpful. However be mindful that they have 15% surcharge on weekends.
We visited this lovely restaurant midweek for dinner. The ambience is wonderful with traditional middle eastern decor.
The service was excellent and the quality of food was great.
The highlights were the Tabouleh, the Babaganoush and the beef rissoles.

Great Food at a great price! Excellent eating experience .. went with with family and from walking in the door and being greeted by the hostess, seated and order taken, was just fabulous. Meal was served hot and excellent taste, server was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely return back again.
The food here had me mouthwatering over every bite. I had to try every single thing that got laid out to us because it all looked so brilliant. Outstanding service and staff made it a night to remember.

Always a pleasure. The food is full of flavour and their staff are lovely. Highly recommended their banquets (they do a discount for kids). Limited car spaces so allow a few minutes extra in case you need to park around the corner.
They do takeaway also. Leftovers make a great hangover lunch the next day. Mmm.
