The flake fillets were cut very thin (approx 4mm). This is pretty cynical considering the raw material is relatively cheap compared to other costs. Unsatisfying experience for me.

2 flake and min chips, horrible. Chips were cheap frozen chips and refried are least twice,fish was at least freshly cooked as I saw it but flat tasteless over cooked batter it was all very greasy. Will not be going back ever.

As an Eltham resident who has tried every fish shop in Eltham, Montmorency, Research and Diamond Creek, I must say this shop is the bottom of the the list given it's food quality.....cooking oil needed changing and flake was tasteless, with horrendous oily batter. I won't be going back.

Excellent fish and chips. Quality depends on the current owner as the business has had quite a few changes of ownership over the years. But the current owners are doing a splendid job. Well worth giving them a go. Whole family enjoyed the Family Pack.

Their grilled fish is also crumbed and it is yummy. Both chicken and regular salt, as well as every menu item you would expect. Food is made quickly and the service is efficient. Kind staff and yum food make it our regular place.

As of Easter 2019 I can safely say the current owners of Elthamwoods Fish & Chip Shop are on the job. The fish is excellent, so are the chips and the burgers too. New owners are doing a good job. Whiting are always good sized portions. Burgers are great. Friendly service. Still the best fish and chips we've found in the area.
