my friends and i love the food and service at this place. An amazing wood-fire oven pizza, where you can taste the woody aroma of the crusty dough. Very appreciative of the service and staff, who are very attentive, but never over the top. Most of all, i never felt rushed even on the busiest of nights, which is very rare in hospitality these days. five stars, Zanini!

Fabulous good in a nice casual atmosphere. The mushroom risotto was full of flavour. My sons ordered rigatoni with Ragu and a pizza. Both were sensational. Highly recommended

Great authentic Italian. The carbonara was delicious though I was unsure if the sauce was meant to be slightly lumpy. Regardless, the bowl was scraped clean. The Capricciosa pizza was fine though the Salsiccia E Friarelli stood out, the fior di latte is so good. They do a nice chewy base.
Was disappointed by dessert - expected donuts as the menu said but they turned out to be flavourless dough strips with Nutella on top. An underwhelming finish to a happy meal, probably should’ve gone for the tiramisu!
Nice Italian place in a lovely part of Elwood. I loved the vibes here, it was bustling, the staff were Italian and the pizzas looked amazing. Service was decent, we ordered 3 pizzas, 3 pastas and 2 salads for the table. The kids pizza came in a little bear shape with ears which my niece loved. The prosecco was excellent too - not too sweet!
The pizza itself was decent - light and stretchy base, perfectly cooked and charred from the wood oven and a good range of classic Italian toppings.
The pasta was ok - gnocchi was great, soft and tender with a tangy Sorrentina sauce topped with a generous amount of mozzarella. The Cacio e Pepe was decent too, made with fresh tagliolini. The disappointment was the tagliatelle bolognese, unfortunately the bolognese sauce was strangely watery.
I'd come back for the pizza and the vibes, and to try the dessert because we were absolutely stuffed by the end!
Amazing and authentic pizza, maybe one of the best in Melbourne, delicious and great menu. The ambiance is also great. Definitely recommend it and definitely going back for more! But! These folks need to work on their speed of service... we waited way too long for a pizza and a pasta, and way too long for having a coffee after. 15 min wait to bring around a coffee isn’t acceptable as it is not the longtime for our dishes so don’t go there on a hurry!
I love the pizza’s from Zanini’s, a great selection and the dough is always perfect. My favourite is the Bufalotta pizza which consists of San Daniele prosciutto, san marzano tomato, mozzarella, cherry tomatoes and fresh basil. A new Zanini’s restaurant has recently opened up in St Kilda East. All available on UberEats.
This is a convenient and easy place to stop for a quick bite. The service for the most part is fast, and the pizzas, pastas and salads are well priced and tasty. Recommended for a quick, tasty and affordable dinner if you are in the Elwood area.

What a nice Italian surprise in the heart of Elwood! Zanini offers exceptionally delicious pizza, with a crisp base, fluffy crust, and fresh, evenly portioned toppings with divine San Danielle prosciutto. The carbonara pasta is tasty and not overly creamy. It is served just over al dente unfortunately and could do with some minor tweaking, but nonetheless, nice flavour and hits the spot. The tiramisu is a stand out dessert. Wonderful meal with a bottle of white wine. Will be returning again soon, and would recommend!
A friend and I found ourselves here after a drunken day out on the town. We were both feeling italian, so we proceeded to the closest italian joint. Zanini. Boy was it great. fast service, and great authentic style pizza and pasta whilst remaining reasonably priced. Would recommend.
One of my favourite pizza places Bayside. Some really great Italian style pizzas and some nice wines. Only negative is we could smell the bins from the kitchen when seated close by. The food travels well for delivery too

Excellent authentic Italian - we tried the gnocchi and pizza. Both delicious and very friendly service. Delivery was much quicker than expected too.
When we rate pizza we eat in any other place we always compare it to Zanini. We find the pizza at Zanini to be the best we have eaten around the world.
Very much a family space and reminded me of the places we used to go to when I was a kid... my ragu was underwhelming, but the steak special was a hit and the seafood pasta looked delicious. Service friendly enough at a busy time.
Great pizza .good service abit comfusing menu written mostly in Italian but food was great .we wet there on a busy Saturday night and we got our food in just 10 mi after ordering for a tble of 6 .impressive
I was surprised by how good the food was here - and fairly reasonably priced, which was also good.
Service was good, probably could have had another person working the floor though, as the phone was ringing consistently the whole time we were there.
We were sitting near a loud table with children, which was unfortunate but also not the staff's fault at all.
Overall a good experience, would recommend.

Authentic Italiano food, step inside you'll feel like you're in Italy. All the staff seem to be from Italy (or actors doing a damn good job at it). Pizza is delicious and woodfired just how i like it! The veal schnitzel is MASSIVE! Had to bring the other half home. Be sure to come on a tuesday instead, where the pizza's are $12, otherwise the pizzas are all $20+
if i gave 400 gradi a 5.0, this place deserves a 10. AMAZING. what a great pizza crust! perfect texture and thickness. the menu is extense and covers what every palate could possibly wish for. we had marinara and romana, with the romana being the favorite od all. before taking a look at the tiramisu we could have sworn that we were completely stuffed - but you cant really say no such a wonderful creation. the size is perfect for sharing! prices are more than decent. loved it and will definetely come back for more!

The pizza bases are fresh and not too thick. The gnocchi is tasty and well presented. Carbonara was quite a dry style but good because that means it wasn't sickeningly creamy. Rigatoni perfectly cooked.

Great vibe. Great menu and authentic food. No mention of where the produce comes from. Wine on tap is a novel idea, but it's v ordinary wine. The pizza bases were perfect, added a half point for that. We walked home sharing a gelato, nice family night out.
Classic pizza that's filling and won't disappoint, they also do a mean gnocchi! If you go on Sunday's they usually have a soothing guitarist to listen to. The staff are always nice but get in quick, place is always buzzing.

As an avid Italian pizza aficionado I found Zanini by browsing the web with the hashtag #bestpizzainmelbourne. There are quite a few marked as such by various people so I decided to check them all out. I chose Zanini as the farthest away from home in the western suburbs and the lengthy travel was worth the time spent.
The venue is located on the main street of Elwood and might be pretty busy on weekends so finding a parking spot might take a while. The place is moderately spacious but filled with tables where possible. I was seated with smile by a real Italian waitress and was given sufficient time to make up my mind.
I ordered a Diavola that was served in less than 10 minutes despite the large amount of guests. My first visual impression was excellent. Once you order a pizza at Zanini's you will instantly notice that you are at the right place.
The woodfired pizza had a super thin base, dry on the bottom and moist on top and wonderful (and delicious) crust. The ingredients were all top notch and the added tiny pieces of mozzarella and basil on top on a baked pizza greatly complemented the appearance of the dish. The salame was just great with just the right balance of meat vs fat that gave the pizza a very nice flavor.
They also have a small selection of desserts including a nutella pizza that I will need to try out next time. Go for the chocolate mousse and you will love it. Served nicely in a glass with a generous portion that is a perfect addition to your espresso.
I can only give this place a strong 5.0, compliment the Italian atmosphere and staff and espresso coffee. A bonus for having a bottle of olive oil on every table!
And I forgot to mention that this place is also a 5.0 value for money being a few bucks cheaper than the other hip venues in Northern Melbourne serving the very same classic Napoli pizza.

I again drove quite a distance to Zanini to grab an evening bite on their now famous Pizza Tuesdays when every pizza costs 12$!!! My Bufalotta with prosciutto and rocket was covered with hearty amount of veggies and it was delicious. Although I was already full I just couldn't resist to give it a go with the dessert pizza :) I had a Nutella with vanilla gelato, strawberries and mint leaves. It was nice and suuuuuper sweet but not as decently cooked as the standard pizzas without such a crunchy brown crust. Good to try out but definitely to sweet and the crust was just not right. Not sure if they apply Nutella before or after but they should definitely improve this invention. The sweet pizzas at Motorino and Altro in the West are much better. At Zanini stick to the good old favorites and desserts less nutella pizza. Still a 5.0 to be honest, just not my cup of tea.
Very nice pizza... Very thin and crispy base. Very fresh and flavoursome toppings. Very friendly service and good ambience. Will go back for sure. Will be my local Italian restaurant .
$12 Pizzas every Tuesday?? Hell yeah! And we're talking GOOD, wood fired oven pizzas too! We stumbled across Zanini and we're delighted with this lovely authentic Italian delight. Next time we come we will try other dishes besides the pizza. So far, we have not been disappointed.

The pizzas here are just delicious!! No one is reinventing the wheel, they're just doing their thing and doing it extremely well!
The wine list is excellent with $10 Sangiovese just one of the excellent wines available on tap!
Delivery is also a good option, and always quick! It's a little frustrating that they advertise free delivery for orders over $18 but the online program they use charges $5. But that's really the only thing I can criticise about Zanini's!
The staff are excellent, the food is excellent, the drinks are excellent!!

The pizza is delicious: the base and the ingredients respect the Italian tradition. Bufalotta pizza is a must! Plus, the menu offers many different kinds of pasta and other traditional Italian dishes, and each week you can find some special and particular dishes too!
Living in the neighbourhood and since Italian food is my favourite, I spent many nights at Zanini and I have never been disappointed by the suggestions of the kind staff.
Every Tuesday is pizza night and all the pizzas cost 12 dollars, so it's a fantastic occasion to have a very good pizza at a cheap price!
Popped into Zanini on a cold winter's night for a hot chocolate and Nutella pizza...yum, yum!!! The hot chocolate was divine and the nutella pizza just hit the spot!! My friend ordered the pannacotta and that was heavenly! Will definitely go back to try their savoury pizzas.
I often go there because a friend of mine works there. From my personal point of view, one of the best Italian pizza here in Aussie.
They have some peculiar Italian pasta as Carbonara and Potato Gnocchi! Yummy!

Amazing authentic Italian pizza!
Finally I ve found a real pizza in Melbourne!!! As an Italian I know what I m talking about. This is 100% an Italian Experience, food, beers, wine and staff,100% Italian! And on Mondays also the music! My favourite pizza is the Vegetariana, and the tiramisu is simply delicious! Don t waste your time and money with Australian pizzas, have a real one, @Zanini :)
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST PIZZA I'VE HAD IN MELBOURNE. On Sunday night I had the opportunity to eat here at Zanini pizzeria e cucina Italiana and it has been one of the best nights ever.
First I had Salumi board served with gnocchi fritti (fried gnocchi) followed by the pizza BUFALOTTA with San marzano tomato burrata mozzarella and an amazing San Daniele both of these i would recommend. The taste was absolutely delicious.
Then you can not miss out a warm and gooey chocolate Souffle.
I'll definetly will be back because also the service was like back home.
BEST PIZZA IN MELBOURNE. My husband and I go here regularly and are never disappointed, yet to find a better pizza restaurant in Melbourne. If you want authentic, Italian pizza, Zanini is the place.

Since travelling to Italy and eating some amazing food I've been on the search for something authentic, and I have found that at Zanini pizzeria!
The food is all very fresh and wonderful and the love put into it all by the chefs is shown in the delicious food. All of the staff are friendly and accommodating which makes you feel like part of their Italian family.
I would 100% recommend this place to all of you!
Couldn't fault the pizza if I tried!! Zanini's pizza left me completely satisfied. Forget 400 gradi, Zanini's pizzeria makes the best pizza in Australia. The sparkling water on the table was in such a nice bottle I asked the staff to take it home with me. I was surprised to hear I wasn't the first to ask this. Thanks Zaninis now my Christmas shopping is done!!
The only thing better than their pizza was the cute italian waiter who served me and my friend. We both left the restaurant pretty disappointed after finding out he was married; but we will come back regardless for the drinks, pizza and beautiful staff.

TOP PIZZA in Melbourne. WOW! If you want try a fantastic pizza, i reckon this pizza was an high standard pizza also compared with the Italian pizza ( i'm Italian).
We had 4 pizze, Diavola, Re di Napoli, Bufalotta, and Boscaiola. Them were just delicious, but the real surprise was the vegetarian one, Boscaiola, the ingredients that made this pizza so delicious were the chiodini (tiny mushrooms) and the truffle oil on top, an amazing match, that leave your palate in a gracious state.
We had Spritz, as a drink, it's a typical Italian aperitif drink from Veneto, made with Aperol (or Campari) prosecco (they use a good Valdobbiadene), soda and garnished with orange slice, make sure tu tried a real Spritz while are you waiting to order!!
At the end we tried Gelato, we had caramelized fig, dark chocolate, lemon and strawberry, and also here finally i can say i was feeling at home...they made Gelato with them own machine, and if you're on your way for elwood beach or you want have a good gelato come here, i can't imagine how much you can appreciate this in summer...i had now in winter and i was in paradise.
Last but not least, the service was really fast, and always ready to help in everything you want to ask or know about them product.
I can't explain how good the food is it there...just go and tried...i'm sure you will go back there over and over after you tried!

Could not believe what I have been missing out on, the pizza makers and waiters suggested pizzas that suited my taste and I was more then satisfied, I'm a very fussy eater and I can't believe my taste buds, I need more!!
Second time I have eaten here and loved it.. Pizzas are amazing and pasta dishes are so generous.. We live just round the corner so easily roll home after a great feed.. Staff are very friendly great vibe.. Highly recommend

We used our living social coupon which included 3 course plus drink.
The antipasto platter was cured meats, rocket,buffalo mozzarella and another grated cheese, truly delicious .
Mains were linguini marinara which was described as very nice and my ravioli with spinach and ricotta which was home made and had a lovely flavour with melted butter and sage but just a little firm for me,prefer a tad softer.
Coffee great and desserts to take away as they serve a large main.
The Italian donuts and Panne Cotta we enjoyed at home.
We will be visiting again.
Very quiet in restaurant for a Sunday lunch but we really enjoyed it and didn't make any difference to us.

Pizza O'Clock!. Literally my favourite place for pizza! I haven't had much else there in a long time but from memory the pasta is good but I wasn't a huge fan of the risotto. But seriously, pizza = amazing.
Brekky Yumness. Went here on a brekky voucher. In truth I bought it because at the time there weren't a lot of brekky vouchers around; one big brekky and one scrambled eggs with pesto and we're glad we did. Freshly squeezed orange juice and great coffee with friendly service to boot. This appears to be a bit of an unknown place for breakfast/brunch at least judging by the crowds at other cafes and dirth of same at this one. Hopefully the voucher deal gets a few more in because the food and service warrants it.
Fantastic! We went here with a breakfast voucher on the weekend and it was really nice. we had the big breakfast and a frittata. I would be happy to come back and pay full price for dinner (looked at the dinner menu. Pastas are around $16 and pizza $17). The service was also great even though we used the voucher.

Italian Dream at Zanini Pizzeria. My Partner & I decided to choose Italian cuisine so we took off to Elwood as it's the place to enjoy Melbourne's bay side. At Zanini Pizzeria, my Partner ordered the Homemade Gnocchi and it brought us back to our hometown of Sicily. It's a must have! I choose the Angus Rump Steak with a wood fire Zanini BBQ to share. Well this delicious steak was cooked to perfection and it was so big in size my partner had to help devour it and the pizza just melted in our mouths. I highly recommend the modern yet rustic Italian restaurant. Well worth your dollar and taste buds.
YUM. I tried Zanini's when I first moved to Elwood about 6 months ago, and was SO impressed by the pasta I had. I would rate it in the top 10 pasta's i've ever eaten, and I eat alot of pasta. yummmm. The service was probably a bit of a downfall. The girl who was serving us was in a bit of a bad mood i think. But i'm still eager to try Zanini's again!
Lovely place. The staff is the most passionate I have ever met in Victoria. They always asked if we need any food and drinks, and found way to make sure our food served fast. They do care a lot about the food quality and customer opinion. The pizza tasted great, a memorable visit!

Great staff, service and food. We got a table immediately (no reservation) although they were quite busy. Quick and attentive service with a very friendly and "family" atmosphere. Really good and fresh ingredients, well prepared and presented dishes. Will definitely return. Oh, and prices are very reasonable too!
Went to Zanini’s after dinner for ice cream. Mmm ice cream was acceptable. Creamy and good flavour. I wouldn’t give it 4 stars though. The rating Is based on a previous dinner which couldn’t be faulted. Fresh traditional pasta. It was like being transported to Italy in the 1980s. Authentic!!

This was seriously the best pizza I've had in Australia. We're from Sydney and have tried every place but this was maybe even better than Italy. Perfect light crust with the spots, amazing tomato and cheese etc etc. The crust was a bit chewy but also a bit crispy. Actually perfect.
