Loved the food and ambience. They serve food with so much love and care taking special requests into consideration. We had hariyali chicken which was out of the world. Along with it naan, butter chicken and chicken tikka masala, taste wise it’s the best Indian food that I have had in Melbourne yet. The warmth of the chef and the staff with delicious flavours of food, certainly takes one back to home- India.

Delicious and authentic, dinner at Tandoori Point didn’t fail to deliver. The standards (samosa, butter chicken, Rohan josh, dumplings) with something new (rockling from the tandoor), overall a memorable meal. The service was 5 Star, genuine and generous. We’ll be back soon!

The premises are plain but the food is always wonderful. The classics (butter chicken, rogan Josh etc.) are on point. Very friendly service and extremely kid friendly.

Solid 3.5. Came here with a Groupon that entitled us to 2 entrees (preselected) 2 curries, rice, naan and kulfi. The entrees were veggie samosa and chicken tikka-both light and delicious. We had Bhunna Lamb and Murgh Shaan-E-Shaukati. Both were tasty and the meat was tender. The service was very friendly as well. I would come back again if in the area.
I had lamb curry the last night it was good,
and the most important thing the staff treated me politely they are good, i liked the samosa very much i may be visiting today as well.
The first thing that made an instant impression on me was the Friendly, hospitable and helpful lady who served us.
She helped us with our order and made sure were happy with our choices.
Second thing I noticed was how inexpensive the dishes were.
We started with a Potato and chickpea specialty followed by the mixed tandoori plate and the tandoori seafood plate, some garlic naan, yogurt dip and saffron rice.
For two entree two mains and a bottle of red it was only $110 dollars.
The tandoori dishes were perfect. Look forward to trying some of the other things on the menu. Thankyou for a lovely experience ✌️✌️
We've dined at Tandoori Point twice in recent months, and enjoyed it so much we feel a recommendation is in order. The food is just about the best Indian we've tasted in Melbourne. The Goat Curry is tender, rich and full of flavour. I've ordered it both times we've visited and crave to have it again. My partner who is vegetarian is glowingly complimentary too. Last night we also shared the Mushroom and Pea Curry which was simply delicious. I began with a special, a starter of Chilli Prawns, and took the Hot option. Absolutely delicious in a hot sauce of tomato, capsicum and tomato. Tandoori Point is only small, but that's a plus. It makes it intimate and warm. And the service is friendly and well-informed.

We had a groupon voucher.
Had chicken tikka and samosa for starters. Both were really tasty and fresh. The tikka was really juicy and full of flavour.
Mains were butter chicken, Dhal, lamb curry, rice, nann, salad, yoghurt rita. It was all really nice, plenty of meat in the curries, which people don’t do anymore!
It was again, fresh and didn’t taste like it was from the fridge. Butter Chicken was Amazing!!!!
Service:
Pretty good, attentive and helpful.
Atmosphere:
It had a good Indian vibe. Quiet though, so feels a bit awkward. But it’s good if you just want to have a quiet dinner with your company. There is an upstairs too!
Overall:
I’ll be back without a voucher, I liked it. :)
If you’re after something special and amazing, not the place. But for a local midweek meal, or just something a little better than casual dining, this place is great!

Tandoori point is a lovely joint on the Ormond road strip. Very different from all the other places serving dinner on this street and my “Go To” Indian restaurant in Elwood. The food was incredibly delicious and the Chefs happily obliged to cater to all our dietary requirements. The staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable when it came to recommending dishes from their extensive menu. The ambiance was very relaxed.
I will definitely be back with my friends whenever we’re in the mood for some Indian food.

Tandoori point is a small Indian restaurant in Elwood serving a wide range of curries and Indian appetisers.
Food: we ordered the chicken tikka butter masala and beef bhuna with saffron rice, naan, poppadoms on the side. Both mains were good, the meat was well cooked and soft and the flavours were well balanced. Both dishes were nice, and we enjoyed them but nothing exceptional. The naan bread was lovely, soft and the butter gave this a lovely flavour. Rice and poppadoms were fine. I felt the main meals were really nicely presented and loved the serving spoons.
Atmosphere: this is a difficult one as we were the only people in the restaurant for most of the time. They have a nice upstairs eating area which keeps you separate from people popping in to order take away and the walls were nicely decorated, but not much more to say.
Service: We found the service prompt and polite but I wouldn't say it was the friendly service other reviewers have raved about.
Will I go back: Yes because the place is very local to me. The food was nice quality and tasted good, we preferred it here to other local Indian places. The menu also has an extensive selection. However, it's another one of those restaurants that while there's nothing wrong, there's nothing stand out to make me return if I lived further afield either.
We've already been here twice. Food is always great and service is always friendly. It's a little slow sometimes but they make it up with their friendliness. It's now our go-to Indian restaurant, for sure.
If you're looking for a local byo with friendly staff, great prices and decent Indian food this is it. They have a very wide selection of curries and make excellent use of their tandoor oven. Each time I've been here I've had a friendly chat with the owner or chef. If you don't expect 5 star dining and are happy with clean and tasty Indian food you'll love this place.
They always look after us here. We miss seeing them as often as we've moved but they always served us with a smile and made us so comfortable. Their chefs are great and there food is clean and healthy. Incredible Indian food!

Butter Chicken. The highlight of the menu was the butter chicken (on the far right) and the naan. Very friendly staff and easy going.
Great find indian food in elwood. This was a lovely restaurant with excellent and dedicated service, delicious food and lovely atmosphere.
The stuffed chicken wings were incredibly tasty, the baby lamb leg melts in your mouth and the chicken tandoori was the best we ever had.
We met the chef who took a keen interest to make sure we were satisfied and the food was to our liking.

Pretty much best in area. The SErvice is sweet & attentive & the curry flavours and meat quality fantastic. Wine list not too great but it is BYO anyway. 2 People can eat like Kings (plus have leftovers) without Alcohol for around $60 with shared entree, 2 mains, all the Naans, Rice & Raita trimmings. Servings are big
What a great place. Fantastic meal with a great service the Angar e Nimki (leg of lamb)is to die for so tender and tasty just loved it also mixed seafood curry with chefs special spives had a nice mixture of seafood was there with friends now will be taking my love.
Try the Saagwala. I have tried lamb saag at soo many Indian restaurants in Melbourne and so many fail to deliver, so I was delighted when Tandoori Point made the best one I have ever had. The meat was melt in the mouth. Best thing is I know it will be better tomorrow once the spices meld together. I will definitely be back!!!
Ordered via Menulog as we couldn't be bothered cooking or going out. For delivery we chose the Butter Chicken (mild for me) and Beef Masala (hot for him), plus Saffron Rice. Delivery was well under the estimated number of minutes, but I believe that was partly due to ordering before the dinner peak. The beef apparently wasn't hot enough but it certainly was for me! Both were richly flavored without being greasy and serving sizes were reasonable (small rectangular takeaway containers) for the convenience and price. I'd definitely order again.
Could have been a great experience.... Such a shame the delivery driver was so rude! He had issues finding, what in my opinion, was an easy place to find. Once found, having issues buzzing him in he decided to bellowed "DO YOU WANNA LET ME IN?" down the speaker and finally shoving me my delivery with no words and a filthy look. Delivery took 80 mins when quoted 45 - 60 mins.
With all that said, the food was good, still warm and good value. Could have been a 5/5 star service but I give this place 4/5 after this experience. I'll order again and hope that I don't get the same delivery man.
I purchased a LivingSocial voucher for the Tandoori Point. Having experienced some mixed results with other LivingSocial vouchers for Indian restaurants, we approached this one with interest. We were completely taken by surprise at how good it was. The service was excellent, especially since we were upstairs. The food itself was outstanding! Their soup dish was a real surprise (my first). Everything else was perfectly prepared, presented and very very tasty. I'm going back this week for a true test of consistency.
Best curry in Melbourne. My wife and I discovered this place after moving to Melbourne from the UK five years ago. This is the only place we get curry from in Melbourne. Great fresh tasting food.

Point of View. After finding a menu from Tandoori Point in my letterbox, I was inspired to pay them a visit. The seating capacity on the ground floor is limited, however I soon discovered there's a somewhat larger dining space upstairs. The décor throughout the restaurant is understated and the linen topped tables add a touch of style.
An entrée of Murgh (Chicken) Tikka was tasty and exceptionally succulent. Having experienced some fairly lacklustre versions of this dish elsewhere, it was nice to strike a winner.
Both the Bhunna Lamb and Angare-e Beef curries were rich, full of flavour and incorporated quality cuts of tender meat, with not an ounce of fat or gristle. They could have been spicier, but I'm sure that detail can be corrected on the next visit.
Service throughout the evening was mostly satisfactory; however attending to the two levels does create a challenge. Having sampled their curries, I can appreciate why they received a "Golden Turban" award from the Melbourne Curry Club.
Beef madras and lamb korma. Good old favourites. Highly recommend.

First time I went to a non-buffet restaurant that lets you have a second serving of rice and curry and not charge you 20 cents for a take out container. Incredible value. Food is average but little gestures of generosity goes a long way to please a budget conscious consumer like me.
Exceptional cuisine with excellent service. If you are looking for authentic Indian food then look no further! Cater perfectly to dietary needs too. If I was able to give 6 stars then I certainly would, highly recommended to all!

Placed an order through the Tandoori Point app. Take away scheduled through the app for 1:45-2:00 pm today (see photo). We went to collect our meal only to find the restaurant doesn't open until 5pm and that they'd never received my order.
Update: I spoke with the owner who was unaware of this issue with the app. He was very gracious. I wound up ordering dinner from Tandoori Point and the meat platter is delicious.
I changed the score from 2 to 4 stars.

This little restaurant is a gem of a find in Elwood. Trying this for the first time in the first week or so since Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted, we were one of three pairs of diners. My husband ordered their specialty dish a slow-cooked juicy baby lamb leg which I had the yummy tandoori meat platter. We shared an onion bhaji, garlic naan and Kashmiri pulao rice. Everything was so tasty and swiftly brought out. A couple of tealight holders are n the tables would improve the ambience but if you want amazing food at a BYO-friendly fully licensed restaurant in the shopping strip in Elwood at reasonable prices (our bill came to $72 including corkage) this is the place .
