I absolutely loved the food here. Their dishes were authentic, delicious and filled with flavour. This is a must if you love Italian food. This is a great place to come for a romantic dinner.

It’s hard to know where to draw the dining out line with the challenges posed by Covid-19, especially in the absence of strong leadership mapping out clear measures that will be implemented in the weeks ahead. With infections still low in NSW, I popped into a nearly empty Osteria di Russo & Russo earlier this week; chasing the good lookin’ cooking of head chef Alex Wong (ex-Allegra Dining).Wong dished up a smashing plate of toothsome, handmade wattleseed pappardelle with David Blackmore wagyu ragu and sweet bursts of native currants. Excellent modern Italian food. The restaurant is quite small and cosy but has a nice atmosphere. The dishes are quite unique but we particularly enjoyed the risotto and roasted cauliflower with hazelnut. Staff were also very accommodating and friendly.

Blink and you might miss this dark, moody and cost restaurant on busy Enmore road. Dimly lit, the restaurant is decorated with wax dripping wine bottles throughout. Its dark and dim with a buzzy hum to it which suits groups of friends or couples on dates. Staff are so welcoming and friendly with Marc (the son and one of the Russo's) being actively involved on the floor. Service is efficient, friendly but can be a little slower as the night progresses and the restaurant gets busy. The menu is tantalising and a very modern, slightly fusion take on classics. Potato canolo was the perfect appetizer - little spring roll like tubes of super flakey pastry encasing a light, creamy mortadella mousse within. The house made foccacia is excellent - light & springy, beautifully scented with saltbush & addictive when dipped in housemade chilli and rosemary infused olive oil. Straciatella is super creamy & perfect with earthy mushrooms and the mushroom crisp is akin to crispy pork crackling. Tuna carpaccio is a fusion of Italian & Japanese & the seaweed butter highlights the meatiness of the fish. Gnocchi carbonara is light and fluffy and the addition of truffle made it even more decadent. Venison was the heaviest dish and perfect finish - well cooked, the gaminess musked by sweet nutty burnt pumpkin sauce and so tender. The wine list is short, easy to navigate, quirky and interesting. And a complimentary shot of housemade limoncello by father Russo was the perfect sweet pick me up to end the meal.
Top notch fancy Italian at a very reasonable price. BYO wine on Sundays. Ordered the 7 course and everything that came out was outstanding. Some unique flavour profiles and dishes.
The food here is absolutely delicious. To be honest I can’t remember what I ordered it was a very big night. But in saying that the experience was extremely memorable , I just for the life of me can’t recall the delicious dish I ate. And can’t find the photo, sorry. But you have to go, and this is definitely a great date night location.

Unforgettable place to be! This was a surprised birthday for me that was organised and my my my! I was blown away with their impeccable service, great quality and yummy food and even though we came out really stuffed after that many courses, we were really happy! The staffs were so family orientated and it cannot be more Italian than this. I love it! Will come back for sure!

I have wanted to visit this restaurant for quite some time and got an opportunity to book a table on a Sunday night around 6:30pm. The venue is dimly lit and the ambiance is very cosy, the main area wouldn't fit more than 25 guests and the vibe of the place seems perfect for couples or parties of four. We struggled with the menu as, despite being Italian cuisine, the menu features only a single pasta dish. Once we eventually decided on our meals, the staff rather forcibly suggested that we go with the Chef's 5 course menu as it would enable us to truly experience the menu. As we were in no rush and under no budget we decided to select this option (although it's worth noting that $60pp * 4 people quickly racks up a $240 bill. Add BYO and the odd cocktail and it quickly becomes a $300 night!).
The structure of the courses are as follows: cold course, hot course, starch course, protein course, desert course, limoncello. The meal begins with the burrata in the cold course, which explodes with a milky centre that is paired with roasted pumpkin. The highlights are the pan-seared mackerel which maintains a perfectly pink centre, the risotto (served al dente) with black garlic and my personal favourite; the Manza (not on the Zomato menu it seems) which is a grilled lamb rump to end the meal.
I would say that upon reflection, had we not ordered the 5 course menu, it would have been very easy to select a combination of meals that would have left us with a lacklustre experience. The quality of this place was truly complimented by the carefully selected combination of flavours and as such I would strongly recommend ordering the set menu.
The place is BYO and we did not look at the wine bar, however I ordered a classic Negroni which certainly met my expectations.
This place is certainly one of the finer restaurants on Enmore Rd and with enough of an appetite can be an exciting journey through contemporary Italian cuisine.
The food at Osteria Di Russo is delicious. The menu has a great selection of vegetarian options. Stand out dishes were oysters, zucchini flowers, prawn agnolotti.

Recommended from a friend as local hidden gem, we came for dinner on Friday night. It's quite a popular place, from a large family group celebrating a birthday to couples on date night to singles sitting at the bar, the place is relax and familiar with a provincial European feel. Our group of 4 tried their Va Bene 5 course menu. It was a great start with the Octopus terrine, looked & tasted great, not something you usually see. The tuna next up was nicely seared on the outside, but still fresh & pink inside, the bean purée & greens were nice accompaniments. The third course was a capsicum based risotto, the rice was underdone, so grainy & hard, the sauce was too tangy & sloppy, the rice was just drowning in it. Thing got back on track with the main of rump, the meat was nice & pink inside, juicy, tender & well seasoned, definitely the pick of the night. Unfortunately the meal didn't end well with dessert, which was supposed to be a dark chocolate granita with sour cherries & panettone crumbs. The granita melted rather quickly, there really wasn't any chocolate taste, the sour cherry overtook the whole dish & really not enjoyable at all. Overall, the menu really was a bit up & down, the Good parts were really great, but the bad were really bad as well. So best to stick with the a la carte menu next time.
We went last night to celebrate a friend's birthday dinner as a group. The ambience on the upper floor was beautiful - relaxing, classy yet not too formal. The service was the best I have had at any restaurant! The manager Mark served us and helped to create a beautiful 7 course for us and was friendly and gracious throughout. The most thoughtful part of their service - they made a whole separate degustation for my friend who was vegetarian, and they put candles on the dessert even without us telling them it was for a birthday. The food was delicious - especially the prawn pasta (such smooth silky texture), pork neck in milk (very tender), and zucchini flowers. My friends and I were so full by the end, and truly had a wonderful celebration dinner. Would definitely recommend this place for a group or date.
My new favourite local restaurant. Each dish was so delicious. We ordered the zucchini flower and duck parfait which was $4.5 each, so impressive. The duck parfait looked like profiteroles, I've never seen it done like that and was so good.
We also shared the crumbed veal tongue, which was our favourite dish of the night, so tender, who would have thought it could be so good. For mains I had the pasta which was Fregola, pippies, capsicum in this spicy broth that had just the right amount of chilli. My partner had the kangaroo and we shared a side of Brussel sprouts. I'm not normally a fan of Brussel sprouts but these had been charred and was so tasty! Followed by dessert each and two glasses of wine per person, the total came to just a little over $200. We were totally, totally satisfied. Well done team Osteria Di Russo Russo, I'm going back to try the other dishes and have the veal tongue again!
Came all the way from Canberra for this. Really delicious food, very flavoursome. For someone who normally loves their meat, I really liked the brussell sprouts. Also the service was top notch. Would recommend this!
Great Italian food with a contemporary take. I'm a big fan of the parfaiteroles and the zucchini flowers. Good service and a cosy atmosphere, too. Definite favorite in Enmore!

One of my favourite restaurants in Enmore. I have had the chefs selection a number of times. Every time I go the menu is different and never disappoints. I don't normally order risotto in a restaurant because I regularly cook it at home but the risotto at Russo & Russo really is something special. At $65 for the chefs selection it is also very good value, if this restaurant was in the city you'd easily be paying $100 for the set menu.
Came here as a group of 11. Due to the number of people, we had to have the set menu which was $65pp for 6 courses. Every course was enjoyable. Standout was a fish course (smelt fragrant as soon as it was put on the table) and a kangaroo with beetroot dish (kangaroo perfectly cooked). Can't name the exact dish as we never saw the menu, just given a description when dish was served. Service was very friendly. Good red wine selection.
Looks like a small neighbourhood gem type of restaurant. Quite unassuming sitting out in the middle of Enmore. The service is good, the wine better, the food? Brilliant! Loved it. I'm a huge fan of places that use a lot of bold flavours and in the dishes you get here, you're certainly guaranteed flavour. Tons of it. My partner has a more subtle (aka bland lol) palate so he found a few dishes too salty, but that just meant more for me! Standouts were: duck liver choux pastry (you will absolutely regret it if you don't order this), the charred broccolini (seriously never thought I'd be this excited over a vegetable), and the fregola (ours had pipis but I've also seen them with moreton bay bugs - must depend on what they get that day. This dish had amazing flavour and textures. Did I say flavour? So good). Quite affordable too considering the quality of the dishes you're getting. This place is definitely a winner for me and we plan to return as soon as their Autumn menu comes in!!
One of my most favourite places to eat in Sydney. Lovely staff, delicious food, skillful chef and its not pretentious. The menu has its regular delicious Italian inspired fare and a few surprises with native Australian ingredients. Chefs selection is the best vale at ~$70
It's a one hat restaurant where you can get a tasting menu with 6 courses for $70. Need I say more? I walked in expecting an old school Italian place. Instead I found innovative dishes (kangaroo and tuna, or deep fried pig's ear sang chow bao, anyone?) with an Italian bent. Fantastic, attentive service.

Finally visited Osteria di Russo & Russo in Enmore and holy crap the Parfaiteroles are fricken amazing! An incredibly crisp choux pastry is stuffed with a super smooth, rich duck liver pate and topped with a swirl of onion and Marsala glaze and oh man how I wish I'd thought to order a second round!
Fantastic in nearly every aspect. The wait staff are charming in their involvement. They're friendly and engaging but not intrusive. They're honest about how much food your party needs, which is refreshing. Dining as a family of 5, we have been subject to waiters overselling but not in this establishment. We ended our meals satisfied but not stuffed. V reasonable prices for the fantastic quality of food provided. The only negative would be the acoustics. We dined on a Tuesday night, on which the restaurant was fairly busy; our family is quite loud and we needed to lean halfway over the table to hear each other at times. However, this is hardly reason enough to forgo such a fantastic experience.

My first perfect score, it started with a visit when they just opened, a welcoming atmosphere and a degustation menu that constantly keeps changing. Head chef Jason Saxby is one of the crazy talented chef that never stops inventing new dishes. Owner Marc enhances the dining experience with passion and knowledge of wine and drinks. Imho they should be at least 2 hatted from the dining experience they bring.

We do these things not because we seek perfection but because our body makes such demands. We work to obey the mantra of “give me crispy, fatty, salty”. I’m a keen researcher, studying the latest restaurant openings seeking out the best pizza or Pho. Sometimes a dish is so good I consider quitting my job to work as a dishy just to get the discounts. And wrestling? It’s with my waistline after eating one too many fried pig ears or a second serve of panna cotta from Osteria di Russo & Russo.

This is the best thing to happen to Enmore in a very long time. Upon entering the door, the place immediately just feels the way we wished all restaurants felt: cosy, romantic, full of animated diners. It helps that the food is terrific too. Not knock-your-socks-off terrific, but definitely the kind of clever, well-cooked Italian fare you'd hope to find in your local Italian bistro. I love it.
The set menu was absolutely amazing. The staff were friendly and the vibe was great. Couldn't fault it. Can't wait to come back for more.

Osteria di Russo is one of the many fancier restaurants that seem to populate Enmore Road – really don’t think there’s very many 1 hatted joints along King Street so this Italian Joint is worth the trek up. We came as a party of 4 and had their menu of the day – which was a fixed cost chef’s selection of the day – we didn’t specific which of the dishes we picked. Think mini degustation with interesting, fantastic food. We dug Osteria – there’s something somewhat homey about the fitout and suprisingly, even with a full house, acoustics held up. You can sit at the bar at Osteria – space is intimate and quaint. Think Italian + Home. We start with oysters with finger lime. Kangeroo Loin Carpaccio, truffle Pecorino. Chargrilled veal tongue, Bagna Cauda, pickled onions. Veal tongue was very smooth and tender. Walnut Agnolotti had rich brown buttery notes and one of the sentiments that we’d echo with just about every dish, is that yes we wanted more. Chicken Ballotine, Porcini dish was nice with a well formed ballotine with crispy skin.
There’s a style and talent at work here, one which ably caroms sweet and tart and sour and five kinds of umami off one another like a series of snappy combination billiards shots.
Books and wine, records and fine foods. Some really interesting flavour combinations and beautiful presentation. The thyme semifreddo was a surprise hit. And the rabbit and the beef were rich and warming. Don't let the photos fool you, though -- it's actually a fairly low-light environment. But a lovely option for your more upmarket dinners, with great service and a lively atmosphere. Russo & Russo straddles fine and casual dining, with marble tables, large glasses, candles and 'fancy' food presentation, but also books & records, hearty dishes, and a reasonable price tag ($65 per head).
When it comes to the humble risotto, many people don't seem to get it right. The Russo & Russo specimen hit all the right places for us. Rice grains that still have a bite, and a shallow bowl that still retains its liquid.

Wonderful, wonderful meal.... I had been told great things about russo & russo, but my experience surpassed my (high) expectations. we were warmly greeted and accommodated and the food was superb. great sharing plates, never hungry or needing for more. the wine list was interesting and a great partner for the food.
i've got some annoying allergies, but they were accommodated for without pause or fuss.
i will definitely be back.
Beautiful!. We dined here just last night and enjoyed every morsel of the six course chefs choice - all were share plates ranging from the first course of silky scallops and then a delicious pea risotto, which I would never had chosen and I would've missed out on the amazing texture and the flavour of this dish. The highlight was either the scallops or the braised pork cheeks- just wonderful! Staff were great and knowledgable on each dish and the long Italian wine list. Thank you for a thoroughly enjoyable evening!

Great Food and service. We have been there twice in one months and staff start to recognize us which is a good sign. Food was really fantastic , not huge, as well as service was really attentive and friendly. It is not cheap but really worth a try. Wine is reasonable price and Classic Chianti is delicious! We will go back . Well done guys.
Very impressed!. We had the 7 courses for $70 - very impressed with the quality of the dishes. First was a duck ham crustini - just amazing. The veal tongue was cooked to perfection. I don't normally like eating pasta but the squid ink risotto is so amazing that I couldn't stop myself having more! Interesting flavours with the beef cheek dish and great refreshing dessert to end. Very impressed - will return soon!

Awesome, new fav innerwest place. What a great score for my area. been a few times now. tried nearly the whole menu, although some things have been different on all visits. which is great. food is what you would expect in a swanky city restaurant, however the price is not. top produce is used and the cooking is spot on. risotto - perfect. other highlights are wagyu, eel, octopus, cocoa pasta with boar, duck, a handmade gnocchi special I had with chestnuts and shaved truffle at the table by the chef was flawless and ive tried all of the desserts and all are incredibly detailed and executed. perfect. there is a lot of thought in how the dishes are constructed here. a rare thing out of the cbd. from what I hear the chef has worked in some of the worlds best restaurants. and it shows. service is getting better. it was a bit shaky at the start but on my last visit there was a new girl who seemed like a bit of a manager maybe. big improvement. and now that they are licensed the experience is even better.
My New Local Favourite. Went for the first time tonight after hearing rave reviews. I concur. We chose the chefs 4 specials and were delighted. The service was amazing. The owner mingled. The food was 5 star at reasonable prices. Seasonal produce. Complex dishes perfectly matched ending with what has to be the most intriguing 'cheese platter' ever. Guys, I wish you all the best. Last Friday my friends and I all vegetarian ate at Russo & Russo and the food was amazing. If like my friends and I you're a vego don't be put off by the limited vegetarian meals on the menu. The owner Marc tailored a vegetarian menu specifically to us and was more than happy to accomodate our requests. The food was absolutely delicious... We ate a couple of dishes from the menu the beet root salad and artichoke risotto and the chef also made some dishes especially for us, the mushroom and chestnut dish in particular was to die for! I couldn't fault the food or the service and from the looks of all the happy faces and empty plates in the room, it looks like everyone else was having the same great dining experience vego or not. Do yourself a favour and try this place out! I'll definitely be eating here again!!

I loved it. I shared the 4 course meal with my friend and the portions are small but very beautiful and totally adequate in size given the complexity of each dish. My friend and I chose 2 dishes each to share which was great for pushing me outside my normal comfort zone (as an ex vego I can be conservative). The food and everything about the restaurant is lovely.
Wow, just wow! The experience went far beyond the food. The service literally makes this place exceptional. In particular, our waitress, Leila. She added the most genuine touches to all that she did, making her service the best I've ever experienced. It made our night a lot more special than it already was. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I came here for a birthday dinner tonight and this restaurant was lovely. The staff were very friendly, alway filling our glasses with water. The whole restaurant gives you warm vibes. The pasta dishes was a highlight for me, it was just so tasty! I loved it! Will come back. The “old” Italian man/waiter was very hospitable.
I hosted a function there last night. Private dining upstairs. The team was so so lovely and the food was superb. So many compliments from the guests who will be coming back. There was no shortage of food and the Marc made some excellent wine recommendations for the meals.

We had a marvellous pre-theatre dinner! We only had a short amount of time but the staff and kitchen worked thoughtfully and seamlessly to deliver us a wonderful dining experience despite the time constraint. The service was attentive and thoughtful, the food was absolutely superb, and the wine list and decor were outstanding. We look forward to returning for a more leisurely experience next time!
