I've grabbed takeaway from here a few times and I think it's great! I've had the lamb box, chicken box and a lamb wrap. I think the boxes are quite generous and plenty for one person ($18). The lamb was tender and juicy. I also liked the chicken box but found the chicken a bit dry in comparison to the lamb. Would love to dine in sometime soon and try other dishes on the menu.

This food jumped up a level. Such intense flavours in probably the sauce on the tender chicken and roasted cauliflower and even the salad. The pomegranate molasses must have been the secret to the ladies fingers' taste. It does seem expensive, or at least you don't get as much as the lavish plates at some Lebanese places, but this is a taste explosion that I've never seen before.

Came by two weeks ago on a thurs night at 8. Kind of in the middle of suburbia nowhere but thats cool and part the charm. We ordered garlic hummus, chicken shawarama, fried eggplant w side of pita bread (between 2 pp). EVERYTHING WAS 100% DELISH*chefs kiss*. The workers are chill as and very patient as we spent ages deciding from the fat menu. Came down to a 57 bill and two full and happy bellies. Have been recommending this place to everyone and anyone since. I’ll be back soon you can bet on that 🤝

wow the food here is amazing! i was quite blown away especially being of Middle Eastern descent so there were a lot of expectations to meet, but Emma’s Snack Bar pulled it off! I will say some of their dishes are probably a bit too pricy for what they offer, but everything tasted amazing. The service wasn’t necessarily the best though the waitors kept bringing us the wrong food and were mixing up the orders, and we had to wait quite a bit for some of the foods. Overall though I definitely recommend coming here!

Emma’s is great, great food, friendly staff in a cool little setting but it gets damn noisy and human nature means some people react by yelling over each other. That being the case, the food makes up for it. Delicious

Amazing flavour bomb! Lebanese food at its finest !!! We had the pleasure of sitting at the bar, (no booking) worked to our favour as we got to see the hard work in the kitchen. Let me say it pays off the food was fresh, almost felt prepped at home in the kitchen for the table (I find this is rare) we ordered tabbouli eggplant dip, kibbe, special chicken to share !!! all the food looked good but this was all we could stomach and left so satisfied !

Great little restaurant in Enmore if you’re looking for a chill, casual dinner vibe. Most of the dishes are designed to share which is so good as you can try multiple dishes. The food is really flavorful. Must try the pumpkin hummus - to die for. It can get pretty loud inside though due to the small space.

One of my favourite finds in Sydney! Tucked away on a very small residential street is this buzzing eatery, after trying the food I can see why it gets so busy and they had to turn people down without bookings! The stand out dishes are:
moorish chicken wrap
One of the specialities here, this chicken wrap is packed full of flavour. The chicken is marinated in gorgeous herbs and yoghurt, and cooked until it’s nice and juicy. It was such a moorish dish, I only wished I had a whole one to myself!

Pumpkin hummous
I absolutely love eating chickpea hummous dip, but coming this with smashed pumpkin just elevates it x10! I would highly recommend the pumpkin hummous and ordering it with a basket of flat bread.
I would Highly recommend trying this place!

Enjoyable. Loved the spicy humus, prawns and shawarma. An unusual take on Lebanese food, which is as good as Cairo takeaway and even Nour...

As much as I’d hate to admit it- I eat here at least once a week! The crispy fish wrap is my go to and the home style lemonade is amazing!!! Been coming here for years and the delicious quality of flavour is consistent- never a bad meal! If you haven’t been do yourself a favour!

Have always wanted to try this place but never got around to it. I then saw it as a new restaurant on Uber Eats and thought it’d be a great opportunity to order from here. Onto the app and a short while later my meal has arrived. The delivery driver was friendly.

I had a Lamb Box which consisted of a grilled kafta skewer which was flavoursome, hommous dip which was creamy and tasty, fattoush salad which was crisp, hand-cut garlic potatoes which were moreish, and lebanese bread to mop up the dip with. Overall a tasty dinner and would definitely reorder from here.

Tasty food and buzzing atmosphere. Only downside was a slightly rude waitress who asked/ encouraged us to ‘finish our beers outside on the street’ so that they could clear our table and bring the next patrons in. I could maybe understand this if we were taking an eternity to finish our beers, but we weren’t! Such a shame because it left us feeling like sheep being herded out of a barn.

Delicious food! Lots of highlights from the menu: traditional hommous, lady fingers, moorish chicken & golden balls. The service is generally adequate [eye roll] and that’s being generous. Greeting customers as they walk in door is pretty standard practice in the hospitality industry... isn’t it? (Maybe they went to the Naomi Campbell school of etiquette?) Anyway, if they lifted their game in this department it would be 5 stars, no question.

Friendly service, authentic Lebanese dishes made for a casual meal with friends or fam, home cooked style with deep, rich flavours... everything we tried was superb! Reasonable prices. BYO your fave drop tops off a fantastic night out. The cons being super noisy making it very hard to hear each other and they pack you in like sardines. Such a neighbourhood gem, will definitely be back! :)

I got to try A LOT of the dishes here as I was with a group of friends. I was really excited as I had heard great things.

The food is quite modern but still true to its flavours. We had four of the dips, baba ghanoush being my favourite. It was so smoky and creamy. The moorish chicken was unlike anything I had eaten and was exactly that. Moorish and full of flavour. The fried potatoes was another winner. Desserts were nice, though the baklava was a bit of a let down as it wasn't as syrupy as I thought it might be.

From the outside, this place looks like a milk bar. One day I decided to do some rrsearch on them and discovered that this place serves Lebanese/Middle Eastern cuisine and mind you... This tiny establishment fills up very quickly especially over the weekends as I discovered. Luckily for me, I got there just in time to grab a table without having to wait. Come here early to book yourself a spot. It looks as though it was also very popular with the locals.
If you can't get a seat inside the eatery, you can always order take away and the yummy food and enjoy in the comfort of your home if competing with other's chatter and loud background noise is not your thing.
What we ordered: We ordered 3 dishes in total. Started off with their baba ganoush with Lebanese bread. Followed by their beef and lamb sausages which are moreish and absolutely yummy! And the lamb Kofta that was also quite delicious but I would have to say, the sausages were my favourite. Ordered their Labanese beer to help wash down the meal. I quite enjoyed their beer, light and refreshing.
The quality of the food is quite good and prices are also reaaonable. Don't be deceived by portion size, you'd be surprised how fast you fill up. Perhaps, eating all that bread with the dip will do it to you.

It's been a long time,my friend had a craving for Lebanese food and last time I was here it was called Emma's on Liberty

It's become more trendy,if my memory serves me right they had long benches before and more traditional Lebanese food, now the food portions have shrunk to smaller sizes so the name change is appropriate

Food wise it's better than your average Lebanese place. What essentially is a chicken kebab (moorish chicken) was really nice,I was impressed. Not the kebab meat other Turkish places use but a softer and lighter tasting chicken meat

Had the fried cauliflower, not what I'm use too but still nice flavours

Everything else was to a good standard

Better book if you want to come here,if you want to try Lebanese food with a twist,I recommend here!

Good Lebanese food is here!!. Nice food, you can choose a set menu which is what I did. The food is better than I expected but I can't help but compare to other lebanese restaurants which have the same food but cheaper prices, BUT for the area its reasonably priced. Be warned its a small place and service at times was a little slow, parking maybe a problem as its located on a small road with many side streets.

Fantastic service and an awesome place for a group setting. Lots of different dishes with amazing dips. There is something really special about tearing bread with your friends, eating with your hands and perfecting that scoop to get the right amount of dip for your bread (complicated science right there). Our table of four ordered wayyyy too much food. We had the arak garlic prawns, shish lamb skewers, bread, spiced fish, garlic dip, baba ghanoush, moorish chicken, golden balls, gin cocktails and orange blossom tea.

Good: DA DIPS.
Bad: the price of the orange blossom tea (it was legit four blossoms in water; smelt like perfume, tasted like water)

Ever get a craving for something and you just cannot stop thinking about it and you become so obsessed with consuming it that you start creating spreadsheets to schedule people’s availabilities for dinner? That is exactly how I’ve been feeling the past couple of weeks in my desire to eat flatbreads and dips and grilled meats and drink beer which is how some workmates and I find ourselves trudging though the rain to get to Emma’s Snack Bar in Enmore.

Great little restaurant, tucked away in the back streets of Enmore. All the food was great and we did over order, but more for tomorrow's lunch!
The garlic coriander potatoes were a hit and same with the moorish chicken. They serve Archie Rose gin here which was a nice surprise, we had ours mixed with Italian blood orange capi.
Staff were helpful and friendly. 👍

When Yotam and Karl Ottolenghi were putting one of their middle-eastern cookbooks together, they thought of starting the book's introduction with: 'If you don't love olive oil, lemon juice and garlic, then this book is not for you'. The same applies to Emma's Snack Bar. Formerly Emma's on Liberty, this is just another example of a restaurant who has let the finer things in life go to slum it with the plebs, however unlike most former fine diners turned hamburger joints, the good people of Enmore are still just as lucky to have this as their local. Start with the dips, the baba ganouge ($12) and the hardcore garlic ($10) are a must. There are  of course homous options as well. From there it all comes thick and fast. We were in a big rowdy group, which is a good way to visit this place. The plate of 'Moorish Chicken' ($20) is a winner, a smoky, juicy delight, while the kafta skewers ($18) will satisfy anyone's hunger. There are plenty of sides to choose from - I would recommend the 'Ladies Fingers' ($14), fun little filo pastry rolls filled with lamb, pine nuts and pomegranate molasses, while also grabbing something green off the menu to balance the colours on the table. Just be careful with your ordering when in a crowd, if you aren't paying attention the helpful chirpy waitresses will upgrade your order of haloumi or kafta from one to five.  But it's all good. You'll hardly notice in your happy olive oil-lemon-garlic bliss.

Emma’s Snack Bar is like an aunt who brings out dozens of dishes when you visit.  You have the fun of sampling everything and head home, satisfied from a full belly and pampered because you’re the most liked family member. Drinks offered include a delicious gin from Archie Rose Distillery in Rosebery, Sydney and homestyle rose lemonade, flavoured with authentic rose extract.

This place is really great, I love the fact that it is slightly off the beaten track, standing alone in the busy hub of Enmore. Decor is really fun, lighting is perfect. We had the banquet and were absolutely stuffed, flavours were mouthwateringly fresh and wholesome. This place has a great atmosphere and caters to anyone that wants good fresh tasty food. The pick for us were the ladies fingers and baba, yumm. We will be back.

Yes, we are having Middle Eastern food again! But, don't be fooled by the menu as the guys at Emma's know how to put a spin on your standard hummus and shawarma.

The concept is snack bar, and this is reflected in the modest menu which is mostly made for sharing. Little has changed on the menu since our last visit exactly 1 yr ago. The moorish (chicken wrap of epic proportions) is the one to try. It is jam packed with succulent grilled meat, onion and a side of jalapeño.

Chips and fried cauli are sides worthy of the guilt trip, however admittedly the cauli does get a bit overwhelming after a few pieces due to the oil being absorbed into the vegetable. Beef sharwama was well seasoned and served on a soft, warmed pita; whilst the small pieces of tomatoes laced throughout cut through the fatty pieces of beef.

Grilled mushrooms on hummus was a special 'off the menu' dish and it was probably the prettiest plate of grilled mushrooms I've seen. The colour and textural contrast was as appealing aesthetically as it was tasty. Hummus smooth and mushrooms earthy. No oily aftertaste meant we could happily dip away and polish off the complimentary bread we were served.

All this was washed down with a village fattoush. Crisp clean garden salad and herbs with chunky croutons. The servings here are on the small side but the food is quite refined. Prices are reflective of the ambience and trendy set-up, but is on the steep side for what one would expect.

This place gets packed out early, so book if you can or beat the crowds. Emma's is a huge favourite among locals - the vibe is casual and the food is sensational. As I always do, I over ordered, but had to push on as it's too delicious to waste. I love the cauliflower here, baba ganouge (WOW), homous and haloumi. What cannot be passed is the moorish chicken with delicate, crisp toasted bread and a juicy chicken filling with thin onion.
They do offer takeaway but I would stick to fresh being the best. Dine in with a delicious beer, and what's better is you can continue ordering.

I can't get enough of this place. It's a fun, casual atmosphere with a great selection on the menu. Absolute favourites are the roast pumpkin homous dip, spiced homous dip and garlic dip, the moorish chicken, village fatouche, fried potatoes.. Pretty much the entire menu. Best thing ever is the kanefe for dessert with an orange blossom tea (om nom nom!!).

The food was amazing! We ordered the banquet for two, which is great value and delicious!
The service however, was appalling. Once we were seated we waited for a long time before we were offered drinks so by the time the waitress came over we were ready to order our food too. After trying to talk us out of getting the banquet, saying there would be too much food (?!) the food came quickly, almost dumped on our table while walking past. This was the last we saw of any table service, my partner had to get up and walk to the bar to order another beer after trying to get the attention of the bored waitstaff for 10 minutes or so. One waitress whizzed past our table and every other, so fast, she didn't see that our glasses were empty along with half of our dishes, only to go back and stand by the bar again.
Halfway through our dinner, my partner had to move to my side of the table as there wasn't enough room for both him and the party of 7 seated next to us.
This place would be 5/5 with better service and a little more space between the tables.

Filling food. Wandered down to Emma's with no booking. Lucky I went early because it's a popular place so had to eat on the counter section that overlooks the pavement. That was fine since I wasn't in a group. I'd read plenty of mixed reviews about Emmas. Had the hommous and the pita bread which was great. While I waited I also tucked into the chips with the garlic mayonnaise. Not sure how close to the regional cuisine this is but it was OK. The highlight as others have noted was the Moorish chicken - sure you can think of it as a chicken wrap but damn it was tasty - had to slow it down so not to eat it too quickly. Sure the food is a lot more expensive than places further west. It's Enmore so property costs are not cheap.

Previously known and loved as Emma’s on Liberty, owner Anthony Sofy felt it was time to renew and renovate, giving it a more casual and ‘snacky’ environment, as well as an updated name, Emma’s Snack Bar. Situated in Enmore, Sydney, I headed down to Emma’s Snack Bar with fellow bloggers, Bob from the Jugernauts and Chris from The Au Review for a Lebanese feast to remember.

A recent opportunity came up to check out the newly revamped Emma's Snack Bar. It used to be Emma's on Liberty and shut down for a while to undergo an interior and menu revamp. Since re-opening, there has been many positive reviews on social media. I have always found eating Lebanese food to be very communal. It brings out the desire to order many dishes and share amongst the group. Emma's Snack Bar is such a place. We booked for 6.30 and got there slightly early. At that time of the evening I would have anticipated it would have been half empty but I was wrong. It was quite full of people, mainly families with young children. Here is a list of our feast! Homous - a different spelling to what I was used to. But our focus was on the taste! Freshly cooked chick peas crushed with tahini, garlic and lemon. Yep, it definitely tasted good and we kept going for more with our pita bread. Garlic dip - pure garlic dip blended with extra virgin oil. AF wanted to try this so we did! Not as garlicky as we anticipated, it had an interesting whipped texture. Baba Ganouge - smoked eggplant on open fire with tahini. Oh boy! We could taste the smokiness and this was seriously so good. The smokiest baba ganouge I have ever had and it was yummy! Big thumbs up! Fried Potato and Coriander - hand cut garlic potato and fresh coriander. Honestly didn't know what to expect but it surpassed all our expectations. Super crunchy roasted potatoes with delicious garlic and coriander potatoes. It was a surprise hit dish for the group. We each had a kebab and this was where I struggled to get a decent photo of any of them, it was difficult to get a decent photo of the filling without unwrapping the pita wrap. Ultimately it is about the taste so forgive my rather shonky photos of the kebabs. Crispy fish with pickle, fatouche and crispy chilli. Chicken fillet - grilled chicken coated in a garlic coriander paste. Kafta with homous, fatouche and pickle. Organic Lamb and Egg with mint, pickle and garlic

What used to be Emma’s on Liberty has gotten a bit of a rejig and what used to be more restaurant is now a more casual Lebanese eatery dishing up jolly good “snacks” – kebabs, homous and more substantial mains. While we were there, locals popped by to the little window on the side, ordered their meals and darted off with their dinner. Its a successful transformation and the food’s pretty delicious with punchy flavours and delicious eats. We loved this. On Liberty Street, the simple red/white logo is evident and the venue has a fairly simple appealing aesthetic. Inside, the ordering station is clearly denoted with the arrow there. Water is available – and there clipboards with menus to the side. Inside the snack bar is one long communal table and various configuration of seating around. Emma’s sits about 60 (approx) and it gets buzzy later. We order a plethora of eats and the table starts of simply enough. There’s tabouli, homous, lebanese bread ($3/pp), fries with a curried gravy and a kebab there. There also serve up vino and beers. Tabouli is fresh and flavoursome and not overtly diced. The two shades of Homous – one is standard and one is a pumpkin version. Both Rather delicious with the bread. Curried Gravy Fries which we picked as it sounded different – the fries came with a lightly curried gravy. The Moorish Chicken $18 – is spiced, toasted (chicken is seasoned well, tender and nicely toasted in Lebanese bread). Very delicious and a fought over eat. A $10 Fish Kebab. Delicious, fresh, good. $12, their organic lamb and egg kebab is delicious. Haloumi was nice. It was well cooked and not overtly salty – we went to Zeus the week before and these were substantially better. Charred Cauliflower is a highlight. Nicely roasted and delicious. Wish we had a bigger bowl of this. Its great. Lamb Kofta’s. Smokey from the grill. Great tangy sauce on top. A great version of Lebanese Kofta’ and a go to. Very good. A trio of desserts – a baklava with pistachio cream, Halva wit

Mrt. This place has been around for many years, and no wonder .I havent been here for a while and came back for a birthday party and the crowd was so impressed. You can tell its a small family business and the food is constantly fresh. They have dishes you just can't find in any other lebanese restaurant and the place just seems to have an exciting vibe.
Love this place. Eventhough its a little small its hard to beat.

Great food, not so great service.. I went to Emma's with a bunch a friends for a birthday a few weeks ago and whilst the food was great it service and the atmosphere was not.

We got the banquet which is pretty good value for money at $40 per person between 7 people we still couldn't finish all the food. They also served fantastic lady's fingers which you don't normally find in other lebanese resturants. A bonus is that if you can't finish the food you can doggy bag it.

The restaurant is BYO with a 2.50pp corkage however they don't provide ice-buckets.

The only let down with the food was that there were no complimentry coffee and sweets as seen in many other lebanese restaurants and the kineffe had too much chesse.

The service wasn't that great as I believe they are severely understaffed, so it took about half an hour before we could order. It is also very, very cramped so on a hot day (like ours) it was very uncomfortable. There was very little relief as there were no working fans or airconditioning and because it was understaffed we didn't have water for most of the time.

What I didn't know was that onFridays and Saturdays they have 2 sittings for dinner 6pm and 8pm. When I called to book I was constantly reminded to be gone by 8pm.

I recommed to go there on weekends probably with a smaller group. It maybe less busy and you might get decent service. Also remember to chill your wine thouroughly before going there or just bring red. Otherwise you will end up with warm wine. It would be good for when you're going out for a nice meal after work and want a decent feed.
