Pros:
- Really really tasty and homely tofu soup, tofu had a pudding-y tender texture
- Also the beef rib, melty meaty goodness
- Nice selection of banchan

Cons:
- Could’ve used a little instruction on the raw provided that was meant to go into the soup ASAP (was off my game that night and realised the egg manoeuvre a tad too late)
- Restroom was a bit far and needs a key (I value my access to restrooms)

My favourite food in Epping. Clean and nice place, with friendly servants. The pork bulgogi is fantastic and the tofu soup is great as well.

I missed sundubu so much after leaving California, and literally every Sydney korean restaurant I tried it at was a disappointment until BCD. Most restaurants here make it taste like spicy water, but BCD packs the depth and richness I need. Please open more locations in the inner west 😭

Haven't been here for a long time and we went back last week. The tofu stews and the spicy braised beef short ribs used to be our favourites. This time we ordered the Bulgogi hot pot.

I think they've changed management. They've got a new menu and the side dish is less generous, but they still offer a wide variety.
The bulgogi hot pot is very sweet, but they do give a huge portion of meat. it's definitely enough for 2.
The restaurant is still crowded, so I think the quality is still upheld...? we will go eat again.

Great Korean food - enjoyed eating the seafood pancakes & BBQ pork belly platter which comes with lettuce & chilli paste , the Bigogi beef which comes as a set meal with a spicy tofu soup - which was just delicious- . All the small accompaniments were also tasty and generous. The staff are friendly & price is very reasonable- we we're a family of 5 and our wonderful dinner came in at $110.

Really authentic soondubu with unique special stone pot rice. Spiciness and flavour are really on point here, and while prices have gone up over the years it still remains a sub $20 feed. Nothing I crave more on a cold winter night than spicy tofu soup. They have a range of other dishes too but tofu is what they do best.

Soondubu jjigae. If you've never heard of it, you just may end up best friends with it this winter. This Korean favourite is more than just a soft tofu soup. You get a quivering wobble of soft set tofu - like a savoury version of pannacotta - simmered in a mini cauldron of bubbling spiced soup. The broth is guaranteed to warm you up from the tips of your fingers right down to your toes, and don’t freak out about the angry red tinge – it’s not half as spicy as it looks

BCD in LA is a staple soondubu chain restaurant that delivers standard dishes, but they're consistent and you know what you're getting—some decent, dependable soondubu... something that seems to be missing in Sydney. SO, when i read on zomato that there was a BCD in EPPING, i was ready to make the trek. you don't even KNOW how excited i was. only to find out, that it's not part of the chain??????? FAKE BCD???? bt look i'm willing to look past all of that bc the soondubu (with "special rice") was DANK (also, in their defense, bcd stands for bukchangdong which is an actual neighborhood/city in seoul so i'll give them that...) the whole restaurant was so comfy/homey and the banchan was on point. at first, i was scammed, but this (fake) bcd delivered and my faith in korean food in sydney has been restored. sidenote, it is a bit pricey like if i wasn't so desperate for some DECENT korean food in sydney i prob wouldn't cough it up $$. that being said i'm desperate and ill be back. one last thing, what's up with korean restaurants in sydney offering like a million diff dishes? can you not js specialize in a few things and do them well?????

Authentic Korean restaurant! Their Kimchi tofu soup and seafood pancake was very nice! We made a mistake in ordering something too spicy to eat. So we asked for hot water to dilute the the spiciness of the soup. The boss came back and offered to remake the soup for us so we can take it! The soup came back in bubbling (just off the stove) and it's still yummy! Kudos to his genuine heart to cook good food for his customers. Highly recommended!

I was in the area and saw this place was packed with korean people and had to take a number to wait for a table. I have to say i have never waited to eat at korean restaurant before so i was intrigued to try out especially there was only one other person waiting before me. Boy i was glad that I did. This is definitely the best korean i had since i left korea. (Which is a long time ago). I ordered spicy chicken and normal tofu stew and spicy octopus bbq with fish roe tofu stew which always were favourite dish of mine. The both bbq was fantastic. Really scrumptious and spicy flavour that was so delectable! I was loving every single spoonful of these dishes; wow the sauce was so good. My tofu stew was also amazing; spicy with generous amount of fish roe and velvety soft tofu pieces.
I am so coming back!!!!

So nice that Sydney siders get a place that specializes in tofu stew! Enjoyed the experience of cracking the egg in myself and having the rice in a stone bowl.

Never seen so many choices of it on a menu! Ithink we had 7 side dishes! So full. It is a little exxy compared to eating it somewhere else though.

Used to be much better, but still worth going to. You definitely go here for the soft tofu stew over anything else, as the name suggests.

I always get the al tang (fish roe) tofu stew with special rice because nothing else beats this. Must get it with the special rice, I feel like my colds always go away after having this warm meal. Recently tried the vegetable tofu stew and you could taste the difference in soup depth and flavour, but nonetheless enjoyable.

Comfort food when it’s cold or you have a cold, but I feel like the portions have shrunk somewhat. And if you think about it, it’s actually not that cheap.

The tofu soup at BCD Tofu House is unreal - so intense with flavor. My preference is the pork-based soup over the seafood-based soup. The tofu is so soft and takes on all the wonderful flavors of the spicy soup. The restaurant is reasonably priced and unpretentious.

I visit BCD Tofu house when I'm craving Korean and am too lazy to travel to Eastwood. The food here is relatively consistent and tastes good, especially on a cold winter's night. As their name suggests, they specialise in tofu - basically most of their meal items involve a tofu soup. I recommend their special rice, which is basically black rice topped with ginko nuts, pine nuts and dried red dates.

They seem to have gradually increased their prices so it's getting a bit exy now. Also, they're rather crowded during peak dinner times, especially after the management/name change at Epping JongaJip last night.

The spicy tofu soup is amazing here, it's not too spicy and the tofu slowly melts in your mouth like butter!!! It exactly tastes like the one you would find in a restaurant in Korea.

In addition, the restaurant also offers lots of ban chan side dishes with the main dishes which is a bonus.

Staff are very friendly and attentive. Please check this place out if you want awesome Korean food.

After our trip to India, WifeofSnackingBear craved nothing but food from BCD Tofu House.

Their menu predominately evolves around their tofu soup. Essentially you choose what meat and rice option that tickles your fancy and go forth from there. I opted just to try their Sizzling Stone Bibimabap. The dish was beautifully plated and really hits the spot on a cold night.

My wife chose the BBQ Beef Ribs and Tofu Soup combo with a bowl of Special Rice. The delightful sound of sizzling beef and wafting sweet aromas left me feeling a bit of buyer's remorse as her meal arrived.

Their special rice is cooked with red dates, ginkgo nuts and black glutinous rice. WifeofSnackingBear prefers this but I still prefer to pair it with just plain rice.

Accompanied with the tofu soup is a raw egg to crack into it. A spoonful of this beautiful silky tofu soup warms you to the core.. literally. It offers a delicate yet perfect balance of saltiness and chilliness which just brought grins to our faces.

Like all other Korean restaurants they start you off with unlimited sides. They offer a great range and I've noticed on two seperate occasions that the sides do change. I personally loved their lotus root side dish which is not pictured above.

On our first visit it was extremely busy on Friday night prompting a wait of around 20 minutes. There are pros and cons to why we had to wait. The venue chose to seat lots of couples to four seater tables and didn't optimise it to get more customers. This caused long waiting lines though provided more privacy and personal space if already seated. What you will notice is despite being busy with customers queuing outside, it still offers a smooth and relaxing dining experience.

I know one of my pet peeves is repeat dining experiences... as I'm always on the hunt for new and better things.. but there's something so homely and comforting about this place. Sure.. the price tag might be on the higher end... but at the end of the day can you put a price tag on satisfaction.

For this week’s review, we had to travel pretty far to enjoy this Korean restaurant. My friend told me that his Korean friend would only go to this place for Korean food. The restaurant is called BCD Tofu House and it’s in Epping. They have seven different Banchan (side dishes). It is always nice to have more options than just a plate of kimchi!

Do you know what it means to call someone a tofu in the Asian culture? It means that the someone is soft, and prone to crying. All defenceless and weak, like a block of silken tofu. Well, that’s the idea anyway. But for all its tenderness, it’s very hard to cook with silken tofu, and cook it well. When done right, it soaks up all the surrounding flavours, but retains its velvet silkiness. Ang you would hope restaurant that calls itself a tofu house, is going to do right by it.

There's nothing better than a bowl (or bowls) of piping hot soup to warm and fill me up on a cold winter's day! As I can't handle cold weather, it definitely leaves me feeling chilled to the bone, constantly hungry and longing for a good Soondubu (Tofu Soup) all the time!. BCD Tofu House is truly a hidden gem (it's quite hidden from the main road) in Epping and as the name says, you're going to be here for their Korean Soondubu!

Korean food for dinner at BCD Tofu House... -- The Food --  (apologies for poor photo!)  Seafood Pancake -- Crispy with moderate amount of seafood, flavours of pancake enhanced with dipping sauce Spicy Pork on Sizzling Plate -- comes with tofu soup on the side and special rice / normal rice. They make the tofu in the house. The tofu is silky smooth. The spicy soup was very tasty when eaten with the special rice. The special rice is made of dates, pine nuts, purple rice, white rice and ginkgo nuts ... which was super tasty on its own or with the spicy tofu soup and spicy pork. We also ordered teriyaki chicken on sizzling plate, which was tasty but on the oily side. They make fairly good side dishes: kimchi, bean sprouts, shredded fish cakes, vegetables. This is a perfect meal for a chilly night ... I would come back for the tofu soup. The Ginseng Chicken soup is quite tasty as well!

Quite a hidden gem!. Really great food.. Tofu are delicious... Generous portions .. The place is tucked under a building, not in an obvious location.

Service is absolutely terrible.. Did not bother to serve people who is waiting for a table until I marched right up to the counter after 10min wait (during this time the staff would stand at the counter and do nothing but stand)

seriously if you see people waiting at the door , GO and SERVE !

We’ve been customers of this restaurant for a long long time, and the tofu soups have been consistently good. Galbijim was yum too. Pancake was super crispy! Good amount of banchan, quick service and homey flavours. Can’t beat this.

Great tasting Korean food. The tofu in the soup was so soft. The main dish, chicken, was tasty and well cooked. Would love to eat at this place again.

Great little place hidden away just off the main road. The price is decent and the food is good. Space is limited and the service is a bit slow, but not too bad. Only have tried one dish, need to come back for more.

Unbeatable value and taste at this unassuming Korean restaurant. I can't believe the prices... The prices would have been good about 5 odd years ago. The sides are generous and all the food is very fresh. I especially loved the bibimbap.

Their signature is rice (special rice is as in photo with beans and stuffs) in a hot stone pot. The correct way to eat is putting all the rice in a bowl and then pouring cold water in the stone pot so you can have the burnt rice later. However I chose to eat in the pot. The soup is amazing. I like the flavor. I reckon beef or stripe or pork soup is a good choice. However they also have mushroom or veggie soup for vegetarian. Price is affordable for a lunch time. Side dish is amazing. However kimchi is a little bit disappointing (too salty) They also provide egg so you can put it in the soup when it comes out and stir until it’s cooked.

Yummy food here. Last time we went was a few years ago but glad we returned. The food is consistently delicious. Ordered the veggie tofu soup and it comes with a generous serving of rice. The seafood pancake is especially delicious and you get a good variety of side dishes which really make the Korean dining experience!! Will definitely return again much sooner for some amazing soup!!! Love it.

Old time lovable. Often a comfort food for me. This particular dish is mushroom based tofu soup. Done very well. That "nutritious rice," in the stone pot is very hearty. Beef, seafood pork, vege-based -- plenty of choices for anyone to enjoy. Their non tofu dishes fare quite well as well. Side note -- obviously a top class hangover dish.
