My friend recommend me to try this place out that had many great reviews. We travelled 1 hour to try out this burger joint and it was definitely most worth the time and travel.
Due to the COVID situation, we couldn't get to first-hand experience their quick and systemic service of ordering and picking up food. They have a drink station that allows you to refill your soft-drink at any time but is currently on halt due to the precaution.
You can notice the effort and time put in by the workers as they make these burgers from scratch and are served freshly hot.
We ordered the Laurie Dee's Burger and the Chilli Cheese Burger, and some Chilli Cheese Fries on the Side.
The bite for each burger was exceptional. The beef patty is juicy and had a nice char on the rims, making me enjoy those beef's juices flooding in as I bite off those crispy edges. The Special D sauce was tasty and brightened the heaviness from the beef. A simple burger done well.
The Chilli Cheese Burger was just as good, but with that extra kick of chilli. Apparently, my friend told me it is usually spicier, which may have got our head turning.
The chilli cheese fries was another successful and satisfying meal. The fries remained crispy despite having a flood of cheese in the tray. The red onions gave the fries a nice refreshing taste. However, very little chilli beef was found. I couldn't taste the meaty flavour of the beef and its fats around the fries, while the chilli sauce lacked a bit of oomph. Still enjoyable but would be way better if it had more chilli beef than they'd normally do.
We finished off with something that was out of this world - the Snickers Sundae. It is very filling for its deceiving size and is so worth your money. The gooey caramel that oozes from the snickers bar is broken in pieces which can be found when scooping out of the container. Every bite was full of texture because of the snickers, from the creaminess of the ice-cream, to the nutty chocolate coating and the thick gooey caramel.

Hands down one of the best burger joints in the northern suburbs of Melbourne! Burgers are so juicy and fresh tasting...but what got me coming back were their frozen custard concrete mixers... seriously unreal! Something every Melbournian must try at least once!

A diner style restaurant with a generous amount of seats and food to offer.
Cheese fries - the best seasoning I've had. Crisp chips with the most flavorful chicken salt and herbs and topped with the thickest cheese.
Laurie dees burger - very crisp buns complimented with the freshest lettuce, juiciest tomato and sweetest onion. The softness of this burger is great.
Again extremely juicy and a tangy hit for the relish. The hotdogs bun is so packed with filling to the point the buns struggle to hold the toppings.
One of the best cheeseburgers I've ever had, patties were seasoned well and smashed perfectly with a nice crunchy edge, bun was soft and pillowy. The peanut butter frozen custard with Reese's mix-ins was smooth and pretty creamy, probably more like the consistency of a soft serve. Definitely worth the drive!
I took my son to try Laurie Dee's and we're both huge fans of smashed patties. The whole vibe and experience was very similar to the American burger chains and the quality was even better. The smashed patties had a beautiful crust and were still so juicy within. When the menu said crispy bacon, it wasn't lying. Crunchy yet still a bit moist. The cheesy fries were out of this world!! Very simple, just seasoned chips, cheese sauce and onion but the flavour really blew me away.

We were invited to Laurie Dee's to try some of their menu items. This delightful restaurant was situated in the urban dining precinct at Pacific Epping. The interior was warm and welcoming.
We had a couple of burgers, the chilli cheese fries and the banana split. Everything was freshly made in a timely manner. The burgers were very pleasing. We had the Laurie Dee and the Chilli Cheese Burger. The beef patties were quite unique. There was a crispy edge to them which just added to the deliciousness. The cheese and house sauce were a great complement to the entire package.
The chilli cheese fries were amazing. The shoe string fries on their own were crispy and tasty. The beef sauce, cheese and onions made it even more interesting.
Having never tried frozen custard before, Laurie Dee's version has made me a convert. It was surprisingly smooth and not overly sweet. The chocolate fudge sauce was made from the real thing.
And the bottomless soft drinks with 9 flavours to choose from was the icing on the cake. Prices for all items were very reasonable, making Laurie Dee's a bit of a triple threat!

The cheese fries was okay but the cheese on the cheese fries wasn't melted enough to what I expected it to be. The chocolate milkshake I ordered was very rich and creamy and the burger was very juice and flavourful however as the beef is minced, expect some of the meat to fall off into the paper while you're eating.

Awesome burgers, loaded fries and hot dogs! Great for family, friends or a solo diner. It's hard to pinpoint just one dish to recommend, I've tried all the burgers but the Chili burger is one I always look forward to!
Laurie Dee's is legit dishing out some of the best smashed pattie burgers in Melbourne hands down. The double with cheese was aweosme. Normally I only eat single patty burgers but this was just perfect for 2. Finished off with one of their custard sundaes too and it was delicious! Great stuff.
Was craving for a legit Chicago Dog and happened upon the menu for this place. Had to check it out.
Tidy little restaurant, friendly service and the hotdog was pretty close to what you would get in Chicago. Only quibble, the dog lacked the snap , the bun didn’t have poppyseeds and the pickle relish is not the same. That being said it was pretty good. The chilli cheese fries were good as well.
Have to come back to try their burgers.
Seriously the best burgers in Melbourne. Crispy and juicy beef patties which aren’t too thick and overwhelming, perfect bacon, perfect cheese, awesome sauce - they can’t go wrong. A simple burger made right is better than any below average stacked burger full of different ingredients - Laurie Dee’s perfects exactly that.
Awesome hotdogs and burgers, the burger buns are so soft they literally melt in your mouth and the meats are perfectly cooked. Its really worth the wait. However, no however - just loved it, the best burgers in Melbourne.

It took me a while to get here but it was definitely worth it. The bright and modern interior felt quite welcoming as well as the friendly staff.
I've ordered the Laurie Dee with some extra avo and a Banana Split. The patty was really juicy and I loved their housemade sauce as well!
You can't go wrong with a banana split and this one was a giant beast! Probably ruined my diet once again but it was worth it!

The shakes are so thick (it's best to share because they're so filling) and the Banana Sundae is an awesome, retro dessert. You get plenty of frozen custard and whipped cream, it's decadent and very well made. We will definitely be coming back!
Worth the trip no matter where in Melbourne you live! I live 50+km away and am down for a LD at least once per month! Smash patties are perfect, frozen custard that cannot find anywhere else and shakes with just the right thickness! DO IT!

I needed a treat meal before heading to the cinemas. I could not resist the cheeseburgers here along with a side of fries this hit the spot. The nuggets are also a favourite of mine too.
Tried the double cheeseburger and the bacon cheeseburger both were absolutely elite. The smash patties had such a great texture with a delicious salty and beefy flavour. Fantastic value too. Laurie Dee’s is a very underrated Melbourne burger venue.
Went here over the weekend. My friend said her boyfriend doesn’t like burgers usually but will always get one if he comes here so I was excited. I got the bacon & cheddar burger in a double & my friend got the Laurie dee in a single. We also got nuggets & chips to share & i got a mint milkshake. The burger was juicy & delicious. Very filling. The nuggets were just like normal nuggets. But the chips were sooo good! But what was even better was the milkshake. It was the best I’ve ever had. It’s because they use frozen custard instead of powder for there milkshakes. It was heavenly.

Laurie Dee’s is an American Diner Style Restaurant at Epping Plaza serving up Burgers, Chips, Sandwich’s, Hotdogs and Ice Cream based Desserts. The layout is set out in true American Diner style with a very American style service too with each order being yelled out by staff from the bench. There is plenty of seating however at peak times it would fill up quickly. Parking during peak is horrible but that's standard anywhere but otherwise it is quite ample as it is at Epping Plaza. Its location makes it perfect for families, friends and couples and great for a meal & movie.
We ordered the Bacon & Cheddar Double $11.95 and Laurie Dee Double $11.95 plus Regular Fries $4.70 and Chilli Cheese Fries $8.95. The patties are melt in the mouth but thin so I think a double was necessary. The buns are not brioche but American style also along with the cheese. regular fries were standard, not great but good enough and the Chilli Cheese Fries were the real standard out. They are not hot in flavour and it tastes more like Bolognaise Sauce with cheese on chips. They were delicious and there was lots of sauce and cheese. We really wanted to try one of their desserts in particular the frozen custard but we were both too full and didn’t have much time left.
Service? Fast
Wrap up: If you love American burgers then this is the place for you as they have nailed this to a tee.
BONUS: You can get free refills of the drinks and also free condiments!
Excellent burger. Got the Laurie Dee double. Patties are melt in the mouth, but thin so I think a double was necessary. Really good combo of ingredients and thankfully not a brioche bun. Took a little while to prepare, given we got there so early and there was nobody around. Also find the queue layout silly - they’ve got walls up so you can’t see the menu from where they want you to queue. Bad interior design on that front.
Would come back though, definitely a high rated burger. And my friend really enjoyed the chicken sandwich she got.

I loved the way they cooked the minced patty as part of the Sloppy Joe's.
A thin layer of savory mince, left on the stove a little long to give you that awesome crispy edge.
From the searing: I got that enriched smokey touch with that tender crunch which contrasts beautifully and memorably between the soft buns.
Flavours are good and would genuinely come back if I lived in the area! Would highly recommend this.
Decor and lighting is on point - Instagram friendly and you can see what you're eating.
The segmented vinyl couches gave the the feeling of American diner fast food vibes and the sauce/condiment table reminded me of the one in "in-n-out" in america. Shout out to the tomato sauce dispenser!!
The service here is very quick and the quality and presentation of the food is lovely. I love how you can get free refills of the drinks and also get free condiments on the side free of charge! Would recommend!

the fries at laurie dee are unique and different, they are one of my favourite things here. the burgers are yum and the ice creams here are great!!! i would much come here again for the dessert than the savoury side of the restaurant. the only downside was that the burgers were not labelled, my mates and i were confused to which was our own burger as we did order different ones. i wouldn’t say the burgers are quite special however their dessert and fries are good! overall, the food is great!! would come here again :—)

This place will never get old. I live an hour away yet somehow find myself here every month. For a juicy burger with condiments on the sweeter side get the Laurie Dee.If you love something meaty and salty get the Bacon and Cheddar. Always get a double on either. For something in the middle get the Double Patty Melt.
I usually order a double Laurie Dee and a double patty melt with their unique Choc Mint shake.Everything here is the perfect balance, and will still be my comfort meal when I'm rewarding myself or cheering myself up.Oh and don't leave without a large concrete. Get a vanilla custard with shortbread and any of the sauces, you won't regret it.
If you love American burgers then this is the place for you. The burger was slightly greasy and the patty was thin and crispy. Even though the burger was a little small, pairing it with a side of fries made me extremely full. All in all, good experience and I would come back again!

Tasty burgers with juicy beef patties. Loved their malt strawberry milkshake and their range of American fizzy drinks. Their drinks compliment very well with burgers offered on their menu.
we drove across town specifically to eat here. the burger was tasty, the fries were note-worthy, we really liked the herb/seasoning they used, a little different but worked very well. also got a custard, was a little too much for me, very very sweet, but i guess people generally like this. nice place too, quite a retro feel. don't regret the long drive
Loved the burgers. loved the chips. Great atmosphere. Only problem was that I ordered a banana milkshake and asked the lady behind the counter if it was made from real banana or syrup. She told me that it was made from real banana, but when it came out it was syrup!! A bit dissapointing.

Popped in for a quick bite before Star Wars: The Last Jedi, got the single Cheese burger and Double Bacon and Cheddar, these burgers Definately had some well seasoned flavour, could have used a little more bacon in the double but def an enjoyable Cheap eat with the burgers costing $6.95 and $11.95 respectively, also indulged in the plain fries that were anything but plain with a herbed Salt coating 👌👌👌

I can definitely see why this place gets voted burger of the year every year! This place is only a 10 minute drive from me so whenever I need my burger fix, this is the place to go. The fries are so delicious! The frozen custards are ridiculously decadent and the best way to end a meal!

Had the most amazing service at Laurie Dees. I've always been a huge fan of the Laurie Dee double but after recently going vegan I was reluctant to visit my all time favorite restaurant, thinking they wouldn't have an alternative option for me.
The lovely man who served me was very accommodating when I told him I was vegan. I ended up having the Chicago dog without meat and butter.
It was awesome and I will 100% be getting it again. So glad I can still enjoy the same restaurant as my non-vegan friends 😊
It took a second attempt to finally find Laurie Dee's but boy am I glad to finally tick this off my wishlist! Wow. The burgers were insanely good! I had the double patty laurie dee and my friend had the double patty bacon and cheddar! We both agreed this was the best burger we'd had ever! The chilli cheese fries were equally as impressive. Loved it and can't wait to come back again!
Ordered the Bacon and Cheddar single and cheese fries. The beef was cooked well, had crisp edges which was a nice touch of texture. The bacon was a bit over done for my liking, very dry. The cheese sauce on the fries was delicious and the diced onion added a nice fresh crunch to perfectly seasoned fries. Overall, a good burger. Dining area was spotless. Customer service needs a bit of work.

The burgers are quite nice and filling. I enjoy the crispy texture and smokiness of the patties. Not a big fan of the fries. But my favourite thing is the custard. In particular, the banana pecan pie. Delicious!!
I feel like Laurie Dee's is extremely underrated. I'm a huge fan of smashed patties so their burgers were already a winner for me. There's nothing fancy on offer but they make a great basic burger - full of flavour, generous serving and good value for money. I'm not a huge fan of the seasoning on the fries, but that's my personal taste and know plenty of people who enjoy the seasoning.
The burger is worth the price I think. But it's not very big, if you a big water , please get 2 patties. For me one patties is fine, bacon is a little bit salty.

Highly enjoy this place. The burgers are absolutely delicious, everything is balanced well. The shakes are delicious. Fries are good, they're seasoned nicely. Didn't enjoy the cheese fries, the cheese topping tasted very fake and almost like plastic, just wasn't my thing. Other than that this place is great.

Ordered The Laurie Dee, Cheese Fries and Snickers sundae. Let's start with the burger... Very tasty burgers but personally I wasn't a huge fan of the overly thin meat patty (I prefer mine thick and juicy), I think making the patty thin made it more oily? My hands were covered in oil. The fries were standard French fries with a delicious cheese sauce. The Snickers Sundae was such a treat I really enjoyed it. Overall quite enjoyable meal
Just the Frozen Custard this time but I have had the Burgers in the past and thought are some of the best in Melbourne, smaller size yes but tasty as hell.
The Frozen Custard is definitely my dessert and hits my taste buds in the feels.
Had the Vanilla with M&Ms, Shortbread Pieces & Oreo Pieces. Both the pieces were actual chunks and crumbs which was perfect. M&Ms are my muse. Pleasantly surprised to see the 'toppings' continued all the way through the dessert down til the very bottom. A very happy man. Tasted my friends Banana Shake and it was heaven. Definitely worth it.
It is extremely similar to the Royal Stacks Custard and honestly couldn't pick between the two because they are both my loves. Possibly lean towards Laurie Dee's for the variety of Toppings but then lean towards Royal Stacks due to the variety of Custard flavours.
Clean place. American style diner feel with the booths so love that. Always good service and quick. Open late which works 👍

Amazing burgers. So tasty and a very hot when they are served to you so you know that they're made fresh. A little pricy but worth it. The burgers are smaller so make sure you at least double party if you're a big eater!

So, I’m currently on a burger bender (again) and I don’t know how to stop it. Frankly, I’m not sure if I want it to stop. Maybe I’m transcending beyond my human shell and a few burgers away from attaining enlightenment. Or my arteries are clogged beyond comprehension and blocking all rational thought leading to my ultimate demise, death by patty.
Yours truly was being a decent human being and volunteered his time with Mr. Brunswick towards cleaning certain lakes. Long story, we got hella hangry. We also scheduled ourselves that Laurie Dee’s was on the way home from our volunteer day. I wish I was this prepared when food isn’t involved.
The awesome:
- The burgers are amazing mouthfuls here. Each bite yield a perfect mix of beef patties, fresh vegies, cheese and that soft flippin' bun. You're gonna need at least 2 patties because they're thin at Laurie Dee's.
- The fries by themselves were great especially with their special seasoning, a spring onion salt blend that breeds addiction. The cheese was a bit too salty for me but the diced onion helped cut through the richness (beginning to think I'm not a loaded fries type a guy).
The not-so-awesome:
- Not sure what I was expecting but, the nuggets tasted thicker than your average frozen store-bought nuggs. Not great, not bad either but I regretted choosing the sweet and sour sauce. It was a weird, thick, syrupy concoction that yielded a very strong tasting sweet and sour sauce I've ever tasted. I couldn't do a second dip. Their BBQ sauce may have been a better choice if you choose to walk down this dark nugget path of mine.
Laurie Dee's looks and feels like a franchised American diner but has a very potent arsenal of kickarse burgers. I'm surprised there aren't a lot more Laurie Dee's in Melbourne because I'm absolutely sure they would thrive if they branch out to the other suburbs! Come to Footscray Laurie Dee's!

I'm normally super picky! But this is probably one of the best Burgers I have had. It wasn't oily! It was clean and the chips were amazing! I don't know what seasoning they put on this but it was great! I love it, definitely great for somewhere local in Epping area. The milkshake I loved too!
Great burgers and a pretty good price. I really like that they do awesome shakes. Makes this place a bit more special instead of having a soft drink. They have other food besides burgers such as BLTs if that's your thing.

I've been to this place on numerous occasions, and I have admit every single time it's never disappointed.
Normally what I get from here is the burger but this time I decided to get the cheese dog. For all you cheese heads out there, this is your dog.
It is flooded with cheese, guessing by the colour combination its cheddar and mozzarella.
Great hot dog, only let down I would like the cheese to be melted inside the dog as well as poured on top freshly grated.
I got a large fries as well, and they are magnificent. Great spices on them and wonderful crispy crunch.
All in all, a good chill establishment with marvellous hot dogs and fries!

Delicious, fatty, cheesy, house-made beef burgers & amazingly crispy cheese (shoestring) fries. That with a creamy, thick, frozen custard. Comfort food at its best.
I like the sloppy Joes it was very nice and you could taste the flavour and the delicious fat oozing off the burger. If anyone says thats disgusting clearly you have never had a proper burger before. Supposed to be greasy thats how Americans eat
