An incredible vegan cake- up to the point where I can’t believe it’s actually vegan!!! YUM!
We chose to work with Sarah at Khamsa because of her passion for plant-based food but we were beyond delighted with her professionalism, creativity, flexibility and ability to deliver.
Khamsa catered our wedding from the pre-dinner grazing board & mocktails through a three course dinner + cake! All our guests were full and happy and continue to talk about the amazing food.
Sarah worked with us around some tricky dietry requirements and special requests and the result was exceptional - being our wedding it was important to us that the food was as special as the occasion and Khamsa really delivered!
The cake was a highlight; such a unique and memorable flavour for our big day.
In fact, we (and other family members) are a little obsessed and have since ordered more cakes for other events!
We could not recommend Khamsa more highly. Sarah's skills and expertise are stand-alone but what we loved most was her approachable and flexibly attitude and her creativity towards food and delivering an outstanding service.
Thank you Khamsa!
Fabulous Vegan Feast last night at Concrete Jungle. The deserts were to die for. Everthing tasted delicious and looked amazing. The whole meal was a treat.
Excellent vegan cakes and top marks for presentation too! So lucky to have them in Shoreditch.
What cake should taste like.
Located on King Street. This Palestinian vegan restaurant offers up an all day menu as well as cakes and beverages. The service was very friendly and water brought out straight away. Plenty of seating indoor and outside.
I started off with a Mocha on macadamia milk. Not as sweet as ones I usually have but still a lovely blend. The default milk they use is oat milk. The coffee they use is Stitch Coffee.
I had the Jerusalem Bowl which had a creamy hummus and baba ghanoush. The crisps on top were the perfect vessels for eating this with. I loved the pop of pomegranates on top. Quinoa and fattoush bulk up this meal and have a lovely flavour to it. The falafel are perfectly fried and have a bright green middle. The roasted cauliflower is wonderful. Both of these were so flavoursome. I did not miss not eating meat at all as this dish packed a punch.
I finished off with a delicious Passionfruit & Raspberry Cake. A single serve light airy sponge has a raspberry centre and topped with a passionfruit icing.
Definitely enjoyed my meal here and worth it for healthier eating!
SUCH A GREAT CAFE. I always love coming here for great food, amazing (and very friendly) service and to relax and study. Would recommend to everyone and anyone!
Great service ... great food ... great food ... from the juice to the food to the desert ... all so well done. A vegan option in the city!!!
My favourite cafe in Sydney. Jerusalem bowl to die for! Sarah’s cakes are out of this world
Lovely unique cafe with super tasty brunch items and middle-eastern dishes. Great coffee, smoothies and vegan cakes too. I’ve only moved to Newtown a couple of weeks ago and I’m already a regular going through the whole menu 😁 The staff is always smiling and friendly and the food is beautifully presented which is a nice plus 👍
Possibly the best tasting brunch in Newtown, vegan or not! Always such a treat. I love the Jerusalem Bowl and the Imam Fainted. Friendly staff. Delicious food.
Everything taste fresh and home made
If you never try the vegan food you should have it amazing 🥰
Eclectic community vibe. I'm not a vegan, but I recommend the food to anyone. It's colorful, well-balanced and authentically Palestinian with a modern flair.
Khamsa is my go-to cafe. Sarah and the rest of the staff are incredibly friendly, the food is divine and best of all, they stock Oatly oat milk and Bonsoy. I'd give more than 5 stars if I could.
DELICIOUS VEGAN FOOD
Hey! Don’t let the word “vegan” scare you away because Khamsa offers Palestinian food that is so flavourful, delicious and nourishing! From my other post on Khamsa, I wrote how I forgot the food was actually vegan especially when I ate the “lamb mince” on the hummus.
My favourite dishes would be “Hummus Habibi”, “Jerusalem Bowl” and the “Mushroom Crepes”
The cakes and sweets were really nice as well! And gotta love the zaatar scroll
I’ll be back and taking friends with fur babies here because Khamsa is super dog friendly 🐶
Owner and staff could not be more helpful. Food is delicious (we had Bedouin Brekkie Roll and dish with mushrooms, kale, avo, chips and more). Coffee is excellent. I am a confirmed dairy drinker and coffee with Khamsa's oat milk was VERY good. Felt like an oasis in the middle of a stressful day.
Great cafe to visit if you’re after vegan food with Mediterranean flavours! The grazing plate was a good option to have a little taste of everything however the falafel was a bit on the drier and tougher side. Also tried the mushroom crepes really enjoyed the cheesy sauce and the crepes were light and fluffy. Super friendly service and spacious dining area.
Visited on opening day for a coffee, and was pleased to find the espresso rich and smooth. Visited again for food a couple of weeks later and was so impressed! Great ambience inside, and although the café was packed by 9am it didn’t feel cramped or uncomfortable. The interior was light and airy and cool, even on an unpleasantly hot day. Arabic coffee was smooth and fragrant, and the cookie on the side was delicious. Both are family recipes. Jerusalem bowl was sensational; each ingredient prepared with the utmost attention and the flavours were perfectly balanced. The Bedouin breakfast roll was jam-packed with flavour and did not disappoint my meat-eating dining companion. Service was friendly, and the moment our table water dropped to dangerous levels it was whisked away and replaced with a fresh bottle. Overall so impressed and looking forward to my next visit - this weekend!
