Lovely family run business with delicious and very reasonably priced Korean food! The honey soy fried chicken was finger licking good and the service was top class. I would rate this 11 out of 10 if I could and would recommend this to any person who is looking for a seriously delicious meal.
Lovely food and super friendly staff! Kimchi pancake and dumplings are delicious. Also catered for our vegan friend without fuss. Returning very soon! Thank you
Beef Bulgogi set meal was beautiful, had a late lunch there and service was very friendly and quick...luv it I will be back
This place has the best fried chicken! I couldn't believe my taste buds, it was soduh dereeeshus!
Yummy food. Great, friendly service.
The chef explained the menu to us so we decided to share some dishes. A great night out.

Had the best introduction to Korean food. Amazing food and lovely people :)
Great food!! Decided to try this new local and was not disappointed. Owners are super cute and run you through the menu. Keep up the good work guys. See u again soon
Lovely dinner last night. New restaurant in Keilor Rd offering something different. Korean BBQ cooked at our table. Food delicious and family run business. Recommend you give it a try.
Their seafood pancake was amazing. Wonderful service. Would definitely eat there again
Excellent fried chicken. Try the Bong Bong drink it's delicious
Bapuri was amazing! I'm glad that there's a Korean restaurant near home rather then just in the city! Thank you for the excellent service and I will come again
I just loved the food and the owners are just great people
Excellent small Korean restaurant that is an asset to the area! Highly recommended!
Fantastic authentic Korean food. Highly recommended you give it a try
Best ddeokbokki I ever had! Fast and excellent service!

201910 I'm always happy if I visit a Korean eatery that has army soup! This one even had a mixed mushroom one cos how good are shrooms! Then these soups with rice. BBQ meats as well when you want something cooked with fire not water. Their fried chicken is still avail for lunch, additional for dinner takeaway

So yummy! Kim chi and beef bulgogi were tasty. Korean crispy chicken was amazing! Quick service.
Food:
Best Korean food I've had in North-West Melbourne, and one of my absolute favourite Korean restaurants in Melbourne. The food is authentic and has a very home-y feel. Everyone needs to give the Kimchi Stew and Crispy Sweaweed Roll a try because they are by far my personally favourites on their menu. Overall the food tastes like it came straight from Korea. If you're up for dessert afterwards, their rice cake with honey is a great addition when you're feeling full but want something small and sweet to end your meal.
Service:
The waiters and waitresses are all very polite, soft spoken, and friendly. They're Korean but speak very fluent English. Service is attentative and quick, and during peak times they promptly apologise for the delay and get to you as fast as they can.
Overall:
Bapuri is an easy choice as my favourite restaurant of all time for homecook-styled Korean food. I've come here many times and it hasn't disappointed. I come here every time I frave Kimchi Stew. Definitely recommend this restaurant if you're in the area.
The service was amazing at this place! I have never felt so welcomed by smiley staffs in a restaurant before. Even the cook was very friendly and Im sure thats the experience a lot of customers want. Apart from that, the food is EXCELLENT! Very authentic and delicious at a reasonable price. I would love to come back again soon!
Hubby and I love coming here for their army stew and Korean fried chicken! Love that it is located so close to where we live and saves us the hassle of driving to the city whenever we feel like Korean food.
Bapuri has been on my 'go to' list for a while as it is quite close to home. Finally found the opportunity to go as I was craving Korean rice cakes!
Ordered the cheesy rice cakes, soft tofu soup, beef japchae and seafood pancakes - everything was pretty delicious! The cheesy rice cakes were topped with a very generous amount of cheese, allowing for the most satisfying cheese pull, however the sauce was a little bit more watery than I'd expected. The seafood pancakes and soft tofu soup came with a good amount of seafood inside - very tasty!
Overall would come back again to try out other dishes on the menu, it is quite reasonably priced as well.
The lovely couple that runs this korean eatery is very friendly and attentive
There is a good amount of options on the menu and the decor inside is cosy.
Love their spicy pork and spicy squid bulgogi and the flavours are good
Had an amazing experience at Bapuri. Been here a couple of times and it does not fail to impress. Very yummy and oishi. Definitely order the fried chicken with bones.
Ordered the vegetarian dumplings, seafood pancake, squid/pork set - all fantastic!! Washed down with Korean beer (cass). Quick service, nice atmosphere and parking at the local Woolworths (100m walk).
Thought we would give this place a go and I’m super glad we did. What hidden treasure! From the outside it doesn’t look like much however when we sat down the decor felt cozy and the staff were attentive and friendly. I ordered the sweet and spicy fried chicken and spicy chicken bibimbap, both were delicious! The other people in my group ordered the pork bulgogi set menu and the tofu set menu. I had a taste of theirs and they were just as delicious as mine. For dessert we ordered the green tea ice cream and I can honestly say it’s the best green tea ice cream I’ve eaten to date. If you want to stay local this is the place for you. The prices were reasonable, service was great and the the food was amazing... what more could you want.
I love this place! No need to travel to Cbd for good Korean food anymore :D 5 stars!
Owners are very friendly and food is great. I love family-run business more than anything. Great value!
Won't get much better authentic Korean food in the Western suburbs of Melbourne. Very friendly and hard working staff always providing excellent customer service also.
Don’t know where to start.. absolutely outstanding!! The spicy sausage stew is fantastic, it actually deserves more than that to be honest, to go with the food was the service was friendly and professional, this place is a must try! Will be back time and time again!
I’m glad we found this precious little restaurant I can go to everytime I get bad craving for Korean food. We ordered soft tofu stew, ox-bone soup for each of us and that probably have been enough for us two. While we were having the soups, I regretted I went greedy and ordered half friend chicken on top of that coz the soups definately hit the spot and I didn’t need anything more. But when later the fried chicken was served and I had a bite, wow, this crunch delish friend chicken was not hard to finish after all 🤣
It’s so disappointing to walk into one of my favourite restaurants at 8pm on a Saturday night to find the place with only a handful of customers. The food here is so fresh, tasty and incredibly good value for money.
My must haves are the Kimchi or seafood pancakes, so delightfully moorish, and the boneless fried chicken - crisp on the outside and moist and juicy on the inside. The Spicy Pork Bulgori ser is also a standout.
This place has made me fall in love with Korean food. Give it a go folks, you won’t be disappointed!
This place is a beautiful Korean restaurant in the suburbs! A family run restaurant providing tasty food and excellent service! Between 3 people we spent $60. Real value for money. Would def return!
Came here after a long day of work and some cravings for Korean food! Didn’t want to travel too far away from home and had seen that a Korean restaurant had conveniently opened up nearby. Decided to try it out with the boyfriend and we ordered the budae jigae and dobbokki. Both dishes were so amazingly delicious! Would 100% say that they are better than a lot of Korean restaurants in the city. The dobbokki had a nice consistency to it and the heat of the sauce topped it off. The Budae Jigae was definitely a little more spicy than what we usually have but we weren’t complaining; the broth was seasoned perfectly! There was an ample amount of sausages and spam, although could have been more generous with the greens + pork belly! Overall, this restaurant definitely deserves more business.

Overall: 4/5!
We absolutely love this place - have been there at least 6 times. All the food we've had has been fantastic. The owners are lovely and very accommodating. The spicy squid and pork bulgogi is our favourite meal - if you like spice, make sure you ask for it more spicy than usual. Also love the pork dumplings. The kimchi is sensational.
Amazing food! Best fried chicken ever! I expected the boneless chicken to be super dry as most places are but it was soo juicy! The korean pancake was perfectly crispy. The whole place feels like a really welcoming home and the service is amazing.
TL;DR: AMAZING AMAZING HIGHLY RECOMMEND
A hidden gem (or just not that well known YET) Korean restaurant on Keilor Rd that we wish we had found sooner. From the moment you walk in, you are made to feel like a valued customer with the warm service and Korean music (Shoutout to Bigbang).
Today we ordered the Korean fried chicken, honey soy flavour, as well as a beef bolgolgi set. The bolgolgi meat was decent enough, just a little dry for our liking- it could have used some marinate or some flavours. The chicken however? Phenomenal. Some of the best we had. Literally oozing with flavour and tender chicken, we enjoyed every single bite and wish we had more! We ordered the 1/2 chicken and would definitely come back for a full one.
Great range of Korean dishes, including the stews that we will try next time, highly recommend the chicken. Authentic, good Korean restaurant- what more could you ask for?

The most wholesome, homely Korean restaurant
Ordered:
🥘 Spicy sausage stew (budae jjigae): stew consisting of ham, sausage, pork, kimchi, bean and noodles ($32.00)
+ cheese ($2.00)
+ extra noodles ($3.00)
Grilled Rice Cake with Honey ($6.00)
Green Tea Ice Cream ($5.00)
Review:
The most wholesome elderly man POURED US WATER and helped to serve the stew into our plates!
My weak heart warmed from this epitome of service - the gentle, thoughtful service from the most engaging, joyful old man.
Budae jjigae was wickedly delicious, spicy, savoury and incredibly filling. It's unreal comfort food that warms you right up but incredibly bad for you with its high-calorie ingredients.
Free refills of the Korean side dishes is always noted and appreciated!
We also took a try at the desserts but honestly, 5 pieces of grilled rice cake with honey for $6.00 is a rip off and the green tea ice cream was bitter.
Would rather recommend the sweet green tea at Kaiseki Japanese Restaurant (Footscray).
Apart from the mishap with the dessert, everything else is fantastic. I'm definitely coming back here again!
Never thought I would have such nice Korean food in Essendon. Very nice food and service. One of the best Korean restaurants in Melbourne. Fried chicken is almost as good as Nene’s chicken.
Best Korean chicken ever! Drove 45 minutes as we were craving it and there are no local Korean restaurants where we are. Will definitely be returning and would recommend this place to everyone with a passion for chicken!
This place is an absolute gem. The food was unbelievably good and im so surprised that it is only a short walk from home. The food was hot and fresh , the staff are very warming and made us feel like we were eating at their home. Lastly the price was soo good . I could not fault this place, definitely my favourite place in essendon hands down. Thank you very much for your amazing food
The highlight of this family-run restaurant is its great service. The waitresses are always helpful and friendly, while the owner always likes to make sure the food is good - to which it is. The Korean food here is legitimate and on par with all the great Korean restaurants in the city. The only criticism I can offer is that the environment is not very comfortable or warm. The plain walls and lack of any background music makes for strange silences that I’ve never experienced in a restaurant.
Visited tonight and cannot wait to visit again.
Fantastic. I love the service- as you can read from other reviews, the owner is an absolute gem all all staff are wonderful. It is BYO which is always a win in my eyes. We ordered edamame, dumplings and fried chicken to start. Then for mains mixed bibimbap (chicken, beef, mushroom), udon noodles (chicken) and bulgogi (chicken). All excellent. I had the mushroom bibimbap- it was simply divine. We ordered 4 K coffees- delish, plus numerous K soft drinks which were also good. I will be back.
This is a little hidden gem in Essendon, wonderful little Korean restaurant with delicious food. The customer service was outstanding. The owner who is a lovely old man, greeted us and helped us order our food. The sweet and spicy chicken was to die for, so crunchy and crispy with a lovely hot sauce. The hot pot was a good size with lots of ingredients in it. The Kim chi pancake was the best we have ever had. Will go back there in a heartbeat!
I could tell immediately that Bapuri was a humble family run establishment with clean decor and a well thought out menu with reasonable prices. Ended up only trying two things that night: spicy sausage stew and the fried chicken (pretty sure it was the normal default one) and we asked for extra mustard sauce to go with the chicken.
Service was really attentive - when our stew came, the waiter was kind enough to prep it all for us and scoop it into bowls for us. The stew was not as spicy as we thought but had the tiniest of a kick for our tolerance. The chicken was super crunchy, maybe double or triple fried but the batter was unbelievable - not oily unlike other chicken chains. We will definitely come back for their jeon and japchae as those two are my other favourites!
Kudos to the older gentleman that kept checking in on us.
Didn't expect food to be this good. It was a quiet night I guess, and we were even the only table. The owner (I suppose) was a really approachable and nice guy with a sunshine smile on face. The food they serve here is much better than many popular Korean restaurants in the city. Bibimbap was pretty good, and the soup was nice as well. The only issue was that the ingredients in the soup were a lot, which left us only little soup.
Awsom place! very welcoming old man that greets you and makes sure you have everything you need. Had a variety of food here all of it was exceptional fell in love with the boneless sweet and spicey chicken.
Ordered the spicy boneless chicken, beef bolgogi set menu and Kim chi stew and it was delicious! VERY friendly customer service and always went the extra mile to make sure guests were always welcomed and the door was opened on arrival and exit. Great find!!!!!
Really nice Korean place with a good atmosphere. Always a few people but not so. Hey that you can’t hear anything. Been here a few times and always great food and great service. The bibimbab is a favourite along with the crispy nori rolls.
INCREDiBLE! The owner was the most lovely man who took pride in his food and customer service. We had the vegie dumplings, the seafood pancake, the kimchi pancake and all 4 of us had a bulgogi each that was magnificent. I got the beef one and althou it looked a little plain it was full of flavour. Its rare that i find myself thoroughly enjoying a meal but tonight i did. The place was clean and homely. Will be returning very soon and hope the ratings go up because this place deserves a higher rating.
great food, good service, and good environment, the menu has good and healthy food, a variety of choice of food, would certainly come back to this restaurant
Owner very friendly and helpful , food was very tasty, not a big Korean eater but ai enjoyed It so much, my wife and I will be back very soon
Bapuri is such a cute, little Korean restaurant with very good food.
My friends and I have been here a few times - the service is amazing and food arrives relatively fast. A must have is the Korean fried chicken - this is delicious!
Fantastic friendly service. Ordered the spicy fried chicken, glass noodles and dumplings. All were absolutely delicious! We will be back!!! Nom nom nom!!!
So glad a Korean restaurant opened in my area! No need to travel into the CBD or Eastern suburbs for some Korean anymore. Food is authentic and delicious, also reasonably priced. The lovely owners are the cherry on top of it all. They are very kind and work very hard to keep their customers happy. They kept apologising and offered me free can drinks when the wait time had only beed a TAD longer than expected for my takeaway order, because they were busy serving dine in customers for lunch.
Beautiful Korean food. Loved the kimchi dumplings, fried chicken is must eat & Japchae noodles were full of incredible flavour and most of all the best Kimchi ever!!
Best Korean restaurant this side of town!
Delicious authentic Korean food run by lovely Korean family. Reasonably priced. Friendly service. Nice ambience. Loved the fried chicken, bulgogi, seafood pancake, glass noodle. Would definitely be back!
Tried this local of mine a few weeks ago. I don’t often eat Korean food (I’m not sure why because I enjoy it when I do). We ordered takeaway and the glass noodles were a standout. Packed full of flavour and light. A great accompaniment to the traditional Korean fried chicken.
Owner was so lovely, took time out to have a chat and explain dishes. Outstanding food, the fried chicken is some of the best we've ever had. New local favourite!
Amazing place! Chef is such a pleasure to talk to and their food is amazing. Highly recommend - especially the chicken. Will definitely go back
I took my wife there last week and we were very happy with our experience. Delicious food and reasonably priced. I think we were served by the owner who was extremely friendly and helpful when assisting us with the menu. It was our first time for Korean and we will definitely be going back!
What's not to love about this newly opened Korean haunt. Small venue that has dishes bursting with flavour. Dive into their Korean Fried Chicken which is nothing short of tender chicken coated in a crunchy savoury batter -YUM. Their spicy beef soup was filled with tender beef pieces , vegetables in a Kim chi style soup which tasted home made. Loving the BYO wine option & reasonable prices. Fantastic , warm friendly service even whey they were very busy.
Great new Korean restaurant in North Essendon. The food is fantastic - very authentic Korean - highly recommend it. Amazing bibimbap. Definitely going back soon and would recommend all locals give it a try.
Fantastic authentic Korean restaurant. Can't wait to work my way through the menu! Kimchi pancake, bibimbap and bulgogi were magnificent. The restaurant is a really nice casual clean fit out. Staff were really friendly and happy to have a chat! Looking forward to going back.
We went here for Father's Day deciding to try the newbie on Keilor Rd and so glad we did. The service is amazing and the owner takes great pride in explaining his menu to you along with suggestions to have the best experience. We listened and sampled a few entrees of which the kimchi steamed dumplings were the stand out. A selection of mains were also delicious and would race back for the fried chicken. You must give this place a go!
It is small restaurant run by two elderly couple who present themselves at highest hygienic & professional standard. Being from Korean background I know which is a rip-off and terrible. This place is something that I would come back with friends to hang out and have fun. I had a Kimchi pancake, soy chicken, bulgogi with my pal who is a Caucasian. We enjoyed every single of it. I would say the vibe of the restaurant is modern and has a bit of Japanese touch to it but the foods are generous motherly food.
The reason it is 4.5 is I found spicy bulgogi little bit on the salty side. But I usually don't go for savory food and my friend says it was impeccable.

The food was great and the people even better! Its really good to have a good korean restaurant in the area. The restaurant had a really great comfortable feel to it as well 😊
Loved my pork bibimbap. The egg yolk on the top really brings the bibimbap presentation to another level (vs. the normal fried egg on top.)
Generous portion, fair pricing.
Kimchi pancake is a little bit on salty side but still delicious.
Great service with friendly staff. Have tried many dishes and definitely recommend this restaurant for great tasting Korean cuisine.
Recently had the spicy beef soup (very hot) and bulgogi.
Surprisingly Very clean 👌
Quite authentic Koren but find the dishes a bit dry.
Staff are nice and friendly. Might visit again.
Only a small place, super friendly staff and a great place for anyone trying Korean food for the first time.
Delicious and delightful Korean BBQ. All the dishes are flavourful and tasty. A great variety on the menu and everything from starters to desert is a wonderful Korean experience. Our group of 7 were well catered for by the efficiency of the attentive waitress, and the meals we promptly delivered with superb presentation, favour, and fresh aroma. The chef certainly has a skill to delight his guests.
The BBQ chicken has a delicious light crunchy texture, full of flavour.
If you wish hot spicy or mild you have many options - just ask the friendly staff to suggest according to your preference.
Everytime I eat at this local favourite I'm left feeling full and satisfied :) the service is impeccable, the food delicious and the prices are reasonable. Check it out if you're after fresh fun Korean food!
What an amazing experience we had, we had the fried chicken with sweet hot sauce and Korean rice cake both were on the spicy side but simply amazing.
The crunch on the fried chicken is just amazing, it will put a lot of CBD places to shame.
You will not go wrong with what ever you order.
Pretty good korean fried chicken and food in general! The service is good but quite slow to order. The atmosphere is nice and clean. Would return to try the rest of the menu
