Review Demazzi's Restaurant - Essendon

We went there couple of times and personally I prefer stone grilled steak. You can grill it as much as you want and it tastes really nice. Passion fruit cocktail also was really good. Burger also is really good here. Definitely, coming back here to try more Desserts and cocktails.

Had an amazing dining experience here! Staff was great, service was good, food was fantastic and vibes were excellent. A lively restaurant with delicious food especially the grilled meats. I had chargrilled braised lamb and it was superb - succulent and flavourful. I will encourage the restaurant to offer garlic sauce with the lamb to further enhance the flavour. It does get busy so reserve a table and enjoy your time! Parking is available nearby.

Had an amazing meal and the staff were friendly and professional. The meals cooking on hot stones was an experience I look forward to doing again. This place had people lining up outside (it's that good)

Chicken Parmigiana was good. It was a bit dry around the edges. Source under the molten cheese was not enough. Risotto was under cooked. Wife was hungry and said that she cannot wait anymore so she ate it as she was constantly saying rice is still hard in her mouth. I tasted it and I would have left it. The waiters were polite and well presented. The cooks need to be extra cautious as they will get more reviews like mine.

First real café experience since Freedom Friday. I could have been served poo on a plate and still given 5 stars 😜 All jokes aside, great vibe, good service good service yummy food. We're back Melbourne!!!

We had a large group and the service was super super quick. Not only did our cocktails look like something out of a movie, the taste delectable on the taste buds. Food was delivered quick and serving sizes HUGE. I'd suggest sharing if you're not a big eater. The staff sang happy birthday and had wonderful banter with our table. Marvelous venue. Recommend to everyone.

Decent food, reasonable pricing...but the seating was quite tight and with the whole stone grills ×3 on the table was a bit of a hassle...decent portions and fresh meat/seafod. Octopus entrè....was very good. Staff, service and cleanliness was ok. It was a busy night though.....

If being honest, the food is quite overpriced for what it is and the quantity, but it was yum. HOWEVER the service we received was impeccable!!! Huge shout out to Steven for providing amazing service to our table, we had a huge laugh with him! The 5 star rating is specifically for his service, he needs to pursue a career in stand up comedy!!! Big thanks to him for a great evening :)

Having been to demazzis before, I can definitely say I’m the past the food is second to none.
With yesterday, I was slightly disappointed. I asked my steak to be medium rare and it was well done. Don’t get me wrong, it sounds minuscule but when it’s well done - it’s generally tough and unfortunately that’s what it was last night. Besides that, the wait staff were lovely and the sticky date was delicious. Also a little disappointed as they kicked us out after an hour, when I booked that didn’t tell me that’s all the time we had and also when we were seated, but overall I would definitely come back :)

Had the stone grill, Tasmanian grass fed eye fillet 300g, fettuccine marinara and beef and chicken meatballs. The cut of meat was soft and tender and was nicely seasoned. The mushroom sauce and peppercorn sauce went well with it. The pasta dish was average, and was lighter than expected but that’s a mistake on our end for not reading the menu properly. However, did feel like the pasta was a bit undercooked. The chicken and beef meatballs were delicious and the sauce complimented it nicely. Would come back :)
Dad-Ventures
This week Dad-Ventures was having some serious Burger cravings but really wanted something different from the same old hipster localities, where sitting on milk crates and old pellets are synonymous with stacked burgers and shakes. That’s when I remembered, many years ago, working at a modern Australian restaurant that was only a few doors down from Demazzi Stone Grill.

Every time I walked past Demazzi it was busy with happy, smiling and laughing customers. I knew they served up amazing burgers and incredible steaks so off I went for a post gym cheat meal with my buddy Nic, at Demazzi Stone Grill. And Lord almighty, was it heavenly.

As soon as I walked in, I saw all types of gorgeous looking things being served up to ecstatic looking diners. As the waiter was attempting to find us a table, I could already see the grandiose burgers and mountainous milkshakes being prepared over by the open kitchen. The décor and vibe of Demazzi really projects a sense of class that isn’t one bit pretentious. Once I got my hands on a menu there were so many crazy delicious things to choose from, and the list of burgers were plentiful.

I couldn’t go past the “Tower Burger,” this was sure to satisfy every burger craving I’ve ever had in my entire life. Whilst we waited, I sipped on a glass of Pinot Noir and just watched as the waiters continued to spoil the restaurant with amazing food. I was in awe of the food magic that was around me. Then it came…

The Tower Burger is a monstrosity of meat that has more animal variety than Noah’s Ark. The burger consists of pulled pork which balances atop a beef patty. Underneath the patty sat an even bigger piece of fried chicken and lashes of bacon. What I loved most was the inclusion of jalapenos and the ‘mate’ sauce which I could delightfully taste with every different kind of meat. To get through it I shamefully needed a knife and fork and left only the tiniest bit behind. It left me needing to undo a couple of belt buckles.

The charred mix grill also made it to our table and there were no surprises in the amazing taste of the kofta, lamb and chicken. The Falafels were a surprisingly bright green and packed a lot of flavor.

For dessert I chose to indulge in the Sticky Date pudding. Sticky date reminds me of Christmas time and is a signature dish of one of my aunties. Being December, I thought why the heck not. The dessert was served with every colour of the rainbow making a subtle appearance and was just incredible. The pudding was soft and melted right on the tongue. The caramel sauce was rich, but wasn’t too heavy or overpowering. The flowery additions and the vanilla ice-cream created a taste sensation that was like no other. It was the perfect end to any foodies dream.

I absolutely loved Demazzi and will definitely be coming back to try a lot more of the outstanding menu.

My verdict: “Worth it” for burger, main, dessert and glass wine for $105.00.

Be sure to check out our new Instagram @dadventuresofficial where you will find our awesome pictures and a link to our brand new website!

On a warm Melbourne night we dined alfresco at the Demazzi Stone Grill. After a Coburg Lager to whet the whistle, we had to get down to the business of ordering. This is a grill, so meat was a must.

We ordered the taco tray - a bit of everything: falafel, chicken, pulled pork, beef - all presented nicely (and very substantial in terms of the portion sizes).

The chicken souvlaki was next, and the meat was nicely marinated and cooked. Finally, the mixed grill was a bit of everything, from grilled chicken to lamb kofta, served with fresh pita bread and tabouli. The mixed grill could have done with some sauces or dips, just to break up all that meat.

All in all the service was a little on the inattentive side, but then it was very busy (particularly given it was a weeknight).

There was no room for dessert, but next time I'm here I'll be sampling the milkshakes, something this grill is also well-known for.

Great spot for families and larger groups. I’m not quite sure how to describe this place, it reminds me of good pub food. I had the chicken souvlaki and popcorn chicken. The meals were larger than I was expecting. They were tasty and satisfying. Would return.

This place is popular for their stone grill and the freak shakes! We had dinner here and tried their stone grill and really enjoyed it. Love how you get in and cook your own steak on the stone grill. The steak came with options for sides and was really good.

Will come back to check out their freak shakes

Three of us came here for an early dinner on a Friday night a couple of weeks ago. We had a reservation, and were placed right next to the toilets. There was no light above us, it was really dark and gloomy. The only time we got any sort of lighting, was when someone opened the toilet doors.

We asked if we could move to another table, and were told that everything had been reserved. The restaurant was really empty, but they insisted that no other table was available. When we finished our food and left 1½ hours later, there were still empty tables around us, clearly not used or reserved. There was even a couple sitting behind us, eating at a 4-person table!

The food was nice but it was overall a disappointing experience. Won’t be back anytime soon.

All I have to say is: Penne with Slow-Cooked Braised Lamb Ragu 😍 amazing pasta and the Lucky Mack burger was also awesome. The stone cooked mixed grill was also a fun experience ❤️ glad I picked this to be my last stop before my weight loss surgery pre-operative diet starts!

This place is always packed, would book if i were to come in just to be on the safe side! They have a wide variety of options with food and drinks. Pretty nice, i enjoyed my food and would recommend to give this place a go!

THIS PLACE IS ACE!!!
I've been to Demazzi multiple times and as you can tell from my photos freak shakes are my weakness.
Great flavours and taste 😍

I wish there was an option for more than 5 stars! Demazzi is a great place to go with family or friends, the service is great and very prompt, the atmosphere is buzzing and most importantly, the food is wonderful! Would definitely recommend, one of my favourite restaurants!

Great food, fun vibes and fantastic customer service! Plenty of choices - from grilled meats, burgers and sides. We had the Kentucky Burger, surf and turf plus side of dumplings. You cook the meat however you like - rare, medium, well done. Portion is generous, everyone feels satisfied after a great feed and night

Always had good food and service whenever we’ve gone though to Demazzi. Would be happy to take more friends and family there anytime for a meal and drinks.

I never right reviews but I just didn’t have a very pleasant experience at Demazzi. Average food and service! But felt like we were being rushed out (spent 45 mins total there). Probably won’t visit again

We have heard so much hype about Demazzi Stone Grill restaurant in Essendon that we decided we had to check it out for ourselves. Having recently gone through a major shake-up this family owned and run business is looking pretty damn good and the food is even better.
Demazzi is a large restaurant with different areas to sit at. Inside or outside or even under a marquee. We chose to sit outside and found it quite pleasant. The night we were there they were pretty busy which is always a good sign.
We ordered the Popcorn Spiced Chicken which came with garlic aioli, also the Tower Burger, the Smoked BBQ Pulled Pork Burger, the Ferrero Rocher Shake and the Honeycomb Shake. Plus, for dessert we ordered the Nutella Board.
The burgers were incredible! Massive, delicious, mouth-watering burgers that were full of flavour and just a joy to eat. They were so big, it took some serious work to get through it all but because they were so palate-pleasing – it was totally worth it!! The popcorn chicken was also scrumptious and the aioli went with it perfectly. The shakes were just awesome – like a work of art. The Ferrero Rocher was probably our favourite taste wise and it was also a very generous serving as well. But the Honeycomb shake was the most aesthetically pleasing – pure genius, a masterpiece with the honeycomb stuck on to the glass! (see photos)
Finally we had the Nutella Board. It came with a Nutella mousse, chocolate brownie, hazelnut crumble, Nutella jam donut, Nutella pouring cream, and a strawberry Nutella burger with mascarpone! There are no words to describe this heavenly dessert.
Tonight’s feast will be impossible to forget! It’s not hard to understand why this restaurant is so popular. The service is spot on, ambience is great and the food? – well, this family know what they’re doing. It’s time to bring your family to meet the Demazzi family.

Went there today for the first time in over a year, disappointed to say that it was not a great experience. It was quiet due to the Aus Day public holiday so what could go wrong.. ordered calamari which was dry and had day old lettuce soaked in balsamic vinegar. Ordered a wagyu beef burger with a stale burger bun and dry meat. Advised the waitress - pointless as they didnt care and didn't offer anything to compensate which really is in line with them not caring about the customer and serving old produce. Paid a lot for a not so great meal. Do not rate, will not be returning and will be telling everyone i know how downhill this has gone.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. The atmosphere is amazing, it can get very busy, it can get very loud but strange enough, it adds to the ambience. The food is very very good. The Steak is brilliant. Great drinks menu, great dessert menu, staff are friendly. Highly recommended b

I had the eye fillet on the stone grill and my partner had the lamb ragu, and both were delicious! The service was great and fast and the food was quality. Would go again :)

3.5⭐️. The photos of the decadent burgers 🍔 and shakes lured me here. Judging by the plates around us, it definitely worked. The decor has a surburban restaurant feel to it and there’s plenty of stone grill 🍖 to complete the picture. A tower burger and the tuna salad was ordered. Highlights: the burger!!! Wow. So juicy and sooo good. Lowlights: the chips could be a little crispier. The tuna salad was drenched in dressing, too much sourness for my taste - should have ordered the burger!

Straight off the bat, I’d like to say the service staff are terrific, which is always a big tick in my book. The menu, despite being extensive, really caters towards meat eaters...Obviously so, because one of their big draw cards is the concept of grilling your food at the table. I have no issue with this, as it makes their restaurant unique for the area. However, with plant based options gaining traction, they might want to consider having 1-2 completely vegan options to attract more diners. They did have a couple of vegetarian dishes on the menu but in this day an age, people shouldn’t have to ask for dishes to be varied- that’s really annoying for the chef & the patron. Otherwise, the presentation of their meals was pretty good and the crazy shakes that we saw go past looked spectacular.
Miss T.A
Polite and friendly staff. Crispy and well seasoned fried calamari and chips. Generous size. Didn’t order the burger but it looked delicious.

Great food. Amazing service.

Worst part is the wait time to be seated, despite boiling in advance, although somewhat understandable due to the quality of food and popularity of the place.

Thank you!

Been wanting check this place out ages, known for their stone grills, burgers and indulgent shakes. When you walk in you're greeted by friendly staff and are seated in a dark dining environment. I ordered the soft shell crab burger and I was not disappointed. Although it was delicious it was a messy eat! Well worth the wait, can never go wrong with sweet potato wedges! Topped the night off with a golden gaytime shake and it was as good as it's visual appearance! Be sure to book a table!

This place is very homey even in cold weather. Went there with a friend and sat in the outside area, heaters took a while to turn on but still made eating comfortable. It was a bit difficult to order as we had to wait a long time for staff to come to the outside area and weren’t sure if we had to go inside to alert one of them. The food presentation was amazing just like the pictures, servings were large and very filling. Very great quality of food. Would recommend!

My Demazzi experience has been a bit hit and miss. Overall I think it’s a good place for a casual meal but you need to make wise choices when ordering. Winner dishes are the burgers and stone steaks. You can’t go wrong. The chips are always excellent. The lamb skewers are good. The shakes are fantastic. The Nutella brownie is spectacular. The dishes I’d avoid are the share plates. We had the dumplings. Quite ordinary. Dry and tasteless. And you have to eat them with a fork as there are no chop sticks. Too much salt on the mushroom bruschetta but salt lovers will probably like it. The pork and beef meatballs were ok but there are definitely better options on the menu. Most of the food here is quite good. I’d just recommend the main meals and it’s definitely a place to go for your sweet tooth or coffee fix. Indoor/outdoor dining caters for people walking past with their dogs, and the waiters are friendly and attentive.

Came here with my family at 10.45am.. didn't know they stop serving breakfast at 11am.. who does that?
so we ordered a Param and boiled pasta for my lil girl.. with milkshakes came to $80 for 1 adult and 2 kids.. REALLY!!!

it was my first time eating here and all i can day is wow! the shake looked just as it had in all the snapchats i’ve seen and tasted great too. although the taste wasn’t anything out of this world, the ridiculously over the top look made up for it. i ordered the middle eastern stone which was the first time i’d ever ordered a stone meal from anywhere and as a lover of middle eastern cuisine it gets a thumbs up from me! although the falafel was a tad dry the koftas were succulent and quite tasty. and that pita bread matched with that flavourful hummus, yum! my mates ordered the parma and the gnocchi and let’s just say i had a few bites of theirs 😉😉. the gnocchi was really yummy however i would’ve enjoyed a bit more on the plate. the parmas were good too. i was also pleasantly surprised at how quick the food came considering how busy they were. the staff were very friendly and helpful as well, would definitely come back!

We caught up with some friends last night and for once I didn’t chose the place. DeMazzi was suggested and given it’s been on my radar for years I was keen to visit. The place was absolutely packed despite the fact it’s certainly not on the cheap side. They are famous for many things; their freakshakes, dessert boards, burgers and stone grills- and across the four of us we tried them all.

My husband had an eye fillet and the pretty cool concept here is it’s served raw on a 550 degree stone and you cook it yourself. The steak was of high quality and well aged as it would want to be for $43 (including sauce and sides). A very interactive novel idea even if the heat emanating off the table made us all want to take our clothes off.

The wagyu burger and the tower burger had been recommended and were impressive. I was overwhelmed by all the choice and opted for the taco board which I was very satisfied with. There was both chicken and beef to diy your tacos with accompaniments of avo, tomato and beans as well as sour cream. Delicious although quite messy

We finished with the gaytime shake and the Nutella coconut brownie shake. I didn’t taste any coconut in the shake but the decadent brownie was utterly sensational. Next time I would skip the shake as the brownie also featured on the dessert board we had.

The board was pure indulgence and the waitress suggested we get the M&M variant which comes with a little tube of take home M&Ms. Our board was missing this element which was disappointing but we were so full we couldn’t even attempt the desert burger and ice cream cookie sandwich that was on the board. Definitely not a place to visit unless you are super hungry because our greedy eyes were just too big for our stomachs. Absolutely love the ingenious idea though and would thoroughly recommend

3.5** A friend recommended us this place and the burgers and dessert didn't disappoint! While a little pricey, the servings were generous! The waygu burger was tender and juicy. Two friends had pasta and they were decent. Another had the stonegrill. Good variety for everyone.

Came here Saturday night with family. Everything was amazing, quick service our food and drinks came within 10-15 mins and everything was delicious. Good variety of food and yummy cocktail options. Already going back Tuesday night for drinks and tapas :)
Lindaparra
The food was quite good but the service was poor. We ordered a taco with salsa but when it came out it had guacamole instead of salsa. The person ordering it is allergic to avocado so we asked if it could be remade without the avocado, seeing the menu doesn’t mention avocado at all.
They said we would have to pay for a new one, plus the waitress wasn’t apologetic and was quite rude.
I advise the chef to say it has avocado on the menu, or expect to remake it for people who can’t eat avocado!

Been here on numerous occasions to try the bombass burgers and shakes but changed it up today with a salmon and cous cous salad! Great taste and flavours very beautifully cooked. The lamb Ragu pasta is very delicious also :)

Amazing always walk away full from eating at Demazzi 10/10 recommend
Great quality of food
A little on the expensive side but totally worth it
Book in advance as they do get booked out quickly especially weeknights and weekends (more so)

A bit pricey but worth a visit if you can afford it. The presentation is nice and the food was delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive despite it being so busy.

We were seated promptly after making our booking. The service was good and our food arrived quiet fast considering it was a busy night. Also the milkshakes were delicious 😋

We came here on Sunday after a fitness competition for a delicious feast and drinks! The food was good, the cocktails were ok .. we ordered an espresso martini that looked 10/10 but tasted like water
the service we received off one particular staff member was very subpar which unfortunately left a bitter taste which leads me to my final point of saying we would probably never return. I wish I had a better review to leave as I was really looking forward to dining here.

Really good burgers! They were so tall but understandable for the price range. I found so interesting that the steak came on a stone. Pretty unique. Their staff are also very efficient. Highly recommend this place

Knowing that this place is well known for its crazy shakes & huge burgers our dinner exceeded my expectations. 3 of us ordered stone grill meals- I was hesitant to cook my own steak as I’m not a huge meat lover but the waitress assured me it was easy. I ordered the eye fillet- I’m glad I did. Extremely tender, juicy & tasted amazing! The guys loved their cuts of beef- a huge
t-bone & a rib eye. The calamari & chips was also generous in size & the calamari were very tender. We shared the Nutella board for dessert- yum!!!
The only negatives were the place is very noisy & crowded- I felt the tables between other diners were too close & the veggies were very bland.
4.5 *
Melbfoodie826
Made a booking for 2 and still had to wait 25 mins for a table. An outdoor table was requested at the time of booking however this was not noted by staff so the only available table outdoors was a shared table with children. Waited another 20 minutes for our drinks and food order to be taken only to be told that the stone grill that we had specifically come for was unavailable, as it was now too late and they had run out of stones. Very disappointing as multiple stones had been seen coming out of the kitchen as we were waiting for our table and again as we were waiting for our order to be taken. The manager was extremely rude, and kept interrupting us without letting us get a word in. She offered no apology and said that we were simply too late to order the stone grill, even though we were made to wait 40 minutes from our booked time to actually order. She then accused us of being unreasonable and said she felt ‘disrespected’ when we stated that we were unimpressed with the customer service received. We left without ordering and will definitely not be returning. Absolutely astounded by the way we were spoken to by a manager who clearly doesn’t value or respect her customers or know how to run a business

I got the taco board which was amazing but I think the beef was a bit dry. I would definitely be back. I’d say it’s a bit overpriced but it wasn’t too steep.

Don’t go here if you like any of the following:

A) Getting a drink in a timely manner - waited 15mins for someone to ask me for a drink, then another 10 to receive it. I couldn’t bear to ask for another in fear of another 25mins wait.
B) Getting someone to serve you - nonexistent good luck.
C) Listening to you - waited 15mins for the wrong order to come out. Well done guys.
D) Customer Service - non-existent and quite rude when explaining A,B & C at the register. Were happy to take my money and ignore me.
E) Like being told “we’re just really busy” as an excuse - on a Wednesday night? Really?

Overall there’s better places all around - seriously go to one of them and save yourself the frustration.

My first time trying a stone grilled meal (similar to Korean bbq ) ! I Loved it ! The female staff were lovely and explained everything clearly .
The 250g eye fillet was amazing (you cook it how you like ! Med-rare for me ! ) , mushroom sauce and potatoes were also lovely ! Very happy and full ...ordered desert to share - a very fun evening .

Tip: go early - as it gets very busy and loud.
Tip: split bill only card and cash not two cards.

Thankyou to the girls at Demazzi stone grill
We’ll be back !!

This place is always full so we wanted to see why. Good atmosphere, good food. Large potions, well seasoned food that tastes great. Skewered chicken pieces were a good size. Very enjoyable.

Ok, so to be honest I didn't know too much about this place before we arrived. We came for a dinner with family and were a little taken back by the noise and bustle of Saturday night dining. Had to wait for table outside (we had booked) and the area was packed in with too many tables and too many people. Wait staff, while plentiful were barely coping but did their best. Lots of noise, kids and groups, so definitely not a relaxing atmosphere. It reminded me a little of McDonalds.

However, that's where the criticism ends, we were eventually sold on the stone grill dining idea and ordered accordingly. Quick service brought our meals out in a timely manner and I gotta say, from the first mouthful of my t-bone, I was sold! Others ordered the mixed grill, surf & turf and sirloin and it was all very tasty. Thought the stone cooking would have left me splattered in oil or fat but it wasn't like that. The lava stone cooked the meat perfectly in a healthy method that was very enjoyable and meant that the steak was piping hot to the last bite. Sides were on the average side of ok but you don't go out to review broccoli. For me the star of the show was the beef - succulent and memorable!

If I had to be critical then two things really stood out.

1. The menus, for gods sake, just replace them periodically, dog-eared and greasy menus do not make for a pleasant beginning to a dinner.

2. Try to position the tables so that people don't feel like sardines - when you are hitting someone in the rear end everytime you move your elbow, there's something wrong.

Finally, the highlight of the evening (apart from the steak!) was our waitress Angela, she made the night memorable and I cannot remember the last time I was at a table where everyone agreed to leave a tip because of the service and banter. Awesome job Angela - thank you!

Staff were welcoming and answered all our questions regarding different burgers patiently. Burger was awesome and the juice was fresh! Cheese sauce went perfectly well with the fries.

I didn’t really like this place, only bc I ordered this really sweet shake that made me sick straight after. I don’t see myself coming here again
Age'n'Tise
What a busy place! The food was nothing to rave on about. However the stand out were the aranchini balls, so flavoursome, so fresh, it was an explosion in the mouth and everyone at the table agreed. The staff were friendly but it was really a ‘fast food experience’ in and out and tables packed in every possible corner.
Norma.H
Staff were friendly, service was pretty quick. Portion of chips was small the salad was more like a garnish. The concept of grilling your own meat seemed a great idea but it is an extra wait. That’s something to think about if you arrive really hungry.
Penelope
Absolutely terrible service experienced today. Ordered the Easter Bunny Shake (note; lactose free milk as I am severely lactose intolerant as explained to the waiter) as anticipated for quite a while and was extremely let down by my experience at the restaurant. When my milkshake was served to me, I noticed a few drops on the bottom of the Easter Bunny, which at first didn’t seem like a major problem so I simply placed it on the table. Momentarily there was milkshake everywhere and it was clear that there was a hole or crack in the chocolate which caused it to leak so I then decided to place it on a napkin, which was soon soaked. I made the decision to then get the attention of a waitress and describe the situation to her. She first asked me whether I wanted a plate to somehow save the leaking milkshake, not too sure how this would achieve anything but besides the point, I continued to reexplain and ask her whether I could have a milkshake remade and she told me that she would speak to someone about it. Moments later she returned stating that I would not be able to receive a new milk shake which I then rebutted with the fact that it was clearly empty after I had only taken a few small sips and it had evidently leaked out of the chocolate bunny and I would not be paying $14.50 for something that I did not even get a chance to drink or enjoy, she then returned inside the restaurant to speak to another member of staff who then came outside and took the milkshake. A new one was made, and before drinking the milkshake and as I was paying my bill I questioned the staff whether lactose free milk was used for obvious reasons as stated previously and they assured me that it was. After drinking the milkshake, I was left with unbearable symptoms in extreme pain as LACTOSE FREE MILK OBVIOUSLY WAS NOT USED. If my situation was worse and lactose effected me dangerously then what would happen? I am extremely disappointed and infuriated and will not be returning to this restaurant.

food was underwhelming. bread was stale unfortunately, Potato gems were offered on the menu but was given chips instead, salmon serving was tiny and drenched in sauce.

This place is insane! They have everything burgers, shakes and desert boards. Their burgers are amazing, the shakes taste as good as they look and their dessert boards are full of everyones favourites including some of the best brownies I have ever had, nutella, kinda and many more! First time eating at demazzis, disappointed on waiting for 10 minutes when I made a booking reservation. I had stone grill for the first time I wasn't to much of a fan but everyone is also different but I would give it another go and try out a burger. Here is a photo of the shakes ordered they were great!

These guys must be doing something right as they constantly are packed when driving past. Although I had high hopes, my experience wasn't that great. I went with the tower burger which set me back $25. Yep, $25. It comes with a serve or chilli cheese fries however they fool you a bit. You literally get fries with cheese on top with a few sprinkles of chilli. Not a fan. However, the burger was really nice, great flavours and textures although I'm not keen on paying that much again.

I went here the other day after dinner for dessert. I go and have a look at the menu and there wasn't much variety of desserts I hoped for , but when the food did come out it had beautiful presentation of food ! But the only thing I hoped for was a bigger variety of dessert meals

Demazzi. One of few restaurants that serve a vast range of culinary experiences from burgers to souvlakis, to tapas to pastas. This place seems to do it all. With that being said, places like this often sacrifice quality for quantity, but not Demazzi. My oh my not Demazzi. Every time we have been and ordered different cuisines we have been pleasantly surprised by just how good the food is. With ambience and service fronting a welcoming and truly enjoyable vibe, you are made to feel appreciated from the first moment you step in the restaurant.

But now, let us focus on the food. Oh the food. One word to describe it is simply amazing. The chicken Souvlaki Emily ordered was no Stalactites, but it was definitely close. More on the pricier side, the serving was quite large and came even with sweet potato chips at our request, for an additional charge. The chicken was juicy and succulent, not dry and complimented well by the feta cheese, tzatziki sauce, chips, pita bread and salad. Now the burger... I opted for the Double Mack and to be frank, this is now my all time runner up favourite burger establishment, creeping on Gorilla Grill in first place. How can a place that specialises in so many cuisines make burgers so much better than actual burger chains? From the first bite, I could taste the difference. Immediately the sauce and char grilled flavour hit my mouth like something I have NEVER had before on a burger. This was love. The meat was so juicy and the cheese too perfect. There was just enough lettuce and not too much like other places. Incredible burger to say the least.

Very very happy with our visit and highly recommend the burgers here, perhaps everything else as well. Perfect for those "i'm not sure what food I am in the mood for" evenings.

Food: 4.5/5
Service: 3.5/5
Ambience: 4/5
Value: 3.5/5

Overall: 4/5
We went to demazzis for a family dinner, we rarely go out for dinner all together so it was kind of special. I have been dying to come here pretty much ever since it’s doors opened. I booked a table for 7 people for outside, but when we go there and tried to sit at the table only 6 of us could fit. I was shocked at how they could think that we would all fit (we are not an obese family let me tell you that) So we asked for another and were put inside which was much nicer as it was 35 degrees that day. It was still very hot indoors we were all melting at the table as you could only feel a little bit of the aircon. I ordered the Kentucky chicken burger, calamari main ( my sister and I halved the meals) and sweet potato entree. The calamari was very delicious and cooked perfectly, the sweet potato chips were really nice but way overpriced. The Kentucky burger was a real let down. It was dry and quite bland and the bread was dry. I was really excited for this burger but it was nothing special. I tried the chocolate brownies and my god they were incredible! I was very stuffed after all the food! I’d probably only ever come here for dessert and not the meals.

The first time I went to Demazzi’s was two weeks ago, and honestly, I was underwhelmed. However, it was an extremely busy service that day so I thought that I will come back and give it a second try.
When we came in, it was relatively quiet and so we really got to enjoy our visit this time around.
My partner had the meatballs from their Tapas section and I had the ‘Salt & Pepper Calamari’ main. Both were beautifully made and my meal had a generous serving.
Demazzi’s also have their liquor license so I tried their ‘Long Island Ice Tea’ and I was quite happy with it.
Although we didn’t get to try any desserts, the menu looks very promising with dishes like ‘Nutella Crepes’ & ‘Sticky Date Pudding’.

All in all, it was great meal out and we will definitely be back.

Demazzi been at the top of my to do list for a very long time. I'm always so overwhelmed by the photos of their desserts and I've finally got to enjoy them myself. We enjoyed the Wagyu Burger, Nutella Board, Brownies and Honeycomb Freakshake. Everything was so decadent and creatively displayed. Anybody with a sweet tooth (or Nutella tooth) must visit Demazzi Essendon for the most worthwhile tummyache.

Don’t get me wrong, this was a nice burger. Meat was well cooked and very tasty, however the hype around this place for me was massive and really didn’t live up to expectations. Place itself was cramped and noisy, not to mention quite warm. Being right on a main road only added to the noise. I also thought 8 odds dollars for 1 piece of corn was outrageous. Whilst a nice burger, probably won’t be back for the factors mentioned above.

Delicious burger! Ordered the awarded Lucky Mack burger, and with double beef patties and cheese it hits the spot. Juicy and very filling. The chips were okay, though a little undercooked I thought.

Five of us went for a colleague’s farewell lunch this week. Been here a few times before but have only now I tried the burger...lol I know right?
I ordered the Lucky Mac which apparently have won the best burgers Melbourne in 2016. Don’t ask how credible this award is because it didn’t mention the body that granted the honours.
Anyway back to the burger, it was brioche buns, double patty, double cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, jalapeños, and some mayonnaise sauce. It came with a side of crispy hot chips, yum!
I thought that was a little too much so ordered mine without cheese lol.
It was delicious!!! If I only had half the of the burger I can probably finish the chips. But my eyes are bigger than my tummy (as always) so I demolished the burger instead.
They are also known for their dessert shakes. You know those ones with the OTT toppings? Never tried it before but always ogling when one walk pass.

Conveniently located in North Essendon with plenty of parking around. You go for the food and stay for dessert. Stone grill cooking is something different but the desserts are a work of art. Always busy so book ahead of time. If you take pot luck you could end up waiting in line.

Honestly so overrated, it was so busy and the service was so bad which didn’t help. When we finally sat down after so long of waiting. The staff were ok, however the food is so expensive and not even worth the money. I had a burger and it was pretty average, would rather go to grilled and pay half the price and enjoy my food.

The burger was great and so was the Nutella platter. I can see the history of the restaurant and that always adds a lot of feel to the venue.

Came here for dinner with a group of friends on a weekend night. We had a booking but still had to wait a bit for the table. The place is super packed and busy. The service was friendly and prompt. Most of us ordered meals on the stone grill, and they are huge..it was definitely a struggle finishing my meal. The food is very tasty and I was satisfied and my dish. Portion size is very generous. It's a good place to come with a group of friends even though it does get very noisy.

I came here on a weekday and I was pretty shocked to see how busy this place was. We were seated quickly and the food came out fast. The shakes were a little pricey and the burgers were great!

Very busy place waited around 20 minutes for our food .. which was fine burgers were great and the scotch fillet was amazing finished with a Nutella plate it was delicious.
Nadz_berry_crunch
The burger was good and the shake was delicious. The customer service needs a bit of work. We were only 10min late and they gave our table away ! N then they find us a table and tell us we only have an hour. When it was time to pay they mixed our bill up and had drinks from the table next to us charged into our bill. The staff had difficulties sorting out our bill, we were waiting for a long time and a line started building up behind us.

Went here for date night on a Monday, after reading all the reviews and hearing good things we decided to check it out!
Unfortunately for us we'd be walking into the place with THE WORST service I've ever experienced in my life. The staff ignore you even when trying to order, it's like they walk around looking busy but don't actually do anything, they have no attention to detail and if you want another drink or more food the only way to get it is to shout out across the restaurant or get up and get it yourself. Our whole table and all the other guests tables around us were left with their empty plates and glasses on them during the entire meal.
Honestly food is great. The Kentucky and Mac burger knocked it out of the park! The kitchen staff get the highest praise, it's a shame your waitresses let you down so bad.
Whoever owns this joint, you need to hire better staff pronto!

Demazzi is my favourite burger in Melbourne! Every time I go it's just amazing. I get the double mac (pictured) so nice, always cooked perfectly. Can't wait for my next visit! The shakes are awesome too!

This place has a huge reputation around the gym for their burgers and shakes. Maybe I'm crazy but I am not a fan of either here. The milkshakes are visually appealing but the actual milk flavour is poor and generally not actually mixed with the toppings. The burgers had too much sauce making the bread soggy and fall apart way too easily. It was standard fine but for me to not finish a burger says something (a mix of didn't enjoy it and didn't want to waste the calories)

As I said I'm sure I'm mad but I revel in it
Betty Joy

Been here a few times, food is consistently good; I love the stone grill concept. Ambiance is pleasant as well, especially the outside area. What it's not very impressive about the place is the service; almost every time I went there staff seem disinterested and not very attentive. Easy problem to fix, but looking at the reviews below it looks like the owners/managers don't seem to care much about it. Pity!

Good food, amazing customer service and definitely coming back for trying something else in the menu👌👌👌👌👌👌best place to have lunch with family

Roll the dice.

Demazzi struggles to provide quality service, and it's a common element of discussion among reviewers; we got to experience it firsthand on a windy day in Melbourne.

It's cosy when you walk in, your typical casual dining set. Although empty, the waitress said all tables inside were booked. So we sat outside. Braving the wind was fun, it added to the experience, but we soon came to realise after two hours, inside was still empty, validating concerns of reviewers before about service. We noticed one group demanded to sit inside much to the dismay of staff members (but still accounted for it, but I thought it was all booked?).

When we were finally served (waitresses talking among themselves rather than serving customers), we ordered the Lucky Mac burger with double beef, double cheese, jalapenos, lettuce, Mac sauce, mustard and ketchup and the Kentucky burger, buttermilk chicken in their secret spices, fried with double cheese, double bacon, jalapenos and their pink sauce all served with fries. We also ordered the Nutella coconut brownie milkshake to share.

The Lucky Mac burger was tasty, meat was tender, the sauce was great, but it tries to do too much with the bun breaking apart easily and the taste can get tedious halfway through, still a contender in my eyes. The Kentucky burger is similar, for a chicken burger, it's nice, but didn't quite knock it out of the park with the taste. Needed a bit more sauce, and the chicken could have had more flavour. The fries were nice and crunchy and the Nutella milkshake was delicious, great presentation as you see in the images.

Demazzi has a lot more to offer in their menus, lots of burgers and shakes to try, it's expensive, but where the food is concerned, you shouldn't be disappointed (especially the shakes, they nail it there).

The service is incredibly lacking, to the point where I can't recommend Demazzi from my experience. We saw a waitress dip her hands in a customer's drink to take a lemon wedge out and then serve it. You had the waitress lie to customers that inside was booked when no one filled those seats in the 2 hours we were there. We were ignored and didn't receive service for almost half an hour (I had to put my hands up!) while staff talked among themselves.

Come for the shakes, try the burgers and roll the dice, because the food should grab your attention (especially the shakes). If you experience the terrible service most reviewers talk about, you just might not come again, but on the flip side, if you do experience the service that's standard in this industry, this is a 3-4 rating experience.

Unfortunately, I rolled the dice, and I was frustrated and disappointed at the service when we came in, a time when Demazzi wasn't busy, they had every opportunity to impress, not acceptable for today's standard.

came here having high expectations. staff was friendly and the atmosphere was nice. i ordered the wagyu beef burger ($21.90) and a milo milk shake ($8.00). the milkshake was overpriced to be honest and the burger was a struggle to get through but tasted nice. the chips were disappointing tho. but overall would come again! 😊

Had the eye fillet which was good quality meat but vegetables and potatoes could be better. My friend had the prawn linguine which although oily, still tasty.

This venue has very poor customer service. They are not very accommodating for people with prams and babies. If you have a child in a pram do not visit this place. It is not pram friendly. They will give you a seat in the corner next to the door and expect you to squash in your pram next to the table and then expect someone to sit in the doorway and have cold air blown on them every single time the door opens. When you tell them that the table location and configuration doesn't work they will then look at you like you have spoken in German and not help you at all. I ended up leaving almost in tears after being treated so badly.

This venue only cares about money. Customer service is poor and obviously management do not care. As long as people keep buying their expensive burgers and ridiculously unhealthy but expensive milkshakes they will be happy. It's all about money, hence the reason why their Facebook page doesn't allow you to review them.

Had lunch here today, was relatively quiet.
Korean bbq caught my eye on the menu. I find the place a bit pricey, and portion size for it wasnt as big as i had thought. Quality of the meat was good but was plain, as the chicken and pork belly were not marinated so it got boring real quick. The beef was soft and marinated nicely, a sort of sweet flavour which I really enjoyed. The stone grill was interesting, i actually really like the concept.
I got the cookies and cream milkshake, looked so good. It was sweet and felt like i was suffering from diabetes after but was pretty worth trying. I quite liked it
Overall, the food was good but not great... but what did i expect... would really just go to korean restaurants for it as this was a bit pricey.
One of the staff was really friendly. Others were okay.
I would come back to try the burgers
Came here with my brother on a Monday afternoon, we ordered the Lucky Mac, Kentucky burger, snickers shake and golden gaytime shake. It was definitely a lot of food. The chicken burger was good but a struggle to eat because the pieces were so big. My brother found his burger too salty for his liking. The shakes were super sweet but it tasted just like snickers and a golden gaytime. Would only recommend ordering shakes too if you have a huge appetite!

The milkshakes are a highlight of a visit here and are quite rich so could easily be shared between two people. Last visit I ate the Brown Cap mushroom pasta which was well flavoured but was a bit dry overall.

Food was very nice and came in large portions, it was a little pricey but still great, some of the waitresses were very friendly and others were rude.

Went here with my wife. Good food the shakes are unreal and well worth it. Service was also good. However there isn't much room but well worth the visit. Will be going back.

This place is famous for their giant burgers and freakshakes. I can't vouch for either of those because I haven't tried them (yet!) but I can vouch for the delicious, Nutella filled crepes. I've also had the stonegrill seafood skewers which were nice but not a massive amount of flavour.

The place is always pumping, can be quite loud but I've found that to be quite common in melbourne these days.

UPDATE! The pulled pork burger is delicious, the chips are crispy and the desserts are crazy! We tried the brownies which were so decadent and yum and peanut butter and jam doughnuts. The doughnuts could have done with much more filling, but they were nice.

Had a terrible experience! Was not told when booking that it was a two hour sitting! The place was crowded and way too loud! Food was average and to be honest I didn't enjoy myself at all! What a let down for a place I've heard many good things about!

I wouldn't be giving 1 except I then made a post on Facebook to their wall and was accused of being an hour late to my booking and expecting them to call me (which I wasn't late and I think they are confusing me with someone else or making the whole story up) and then the post was deleted! What disgusting customer service!!!

This place lived up to my expectations and more, the food and cocktails were amazing, keeping up to the standards shown on Demazzi's social media. Atmosphere and vibe of the place was buzzing. What made my night was the hospitality of the hostess who looked after us, we didn't book, which I discovered is a must for this place. We were well looked after finding a table for us in between bookings, very warm approachable women who I just wanted to hug 🤗. Thank you for looking after us. The crab burger was awesome, full of flavour, not heavy and well presented. Espresso Martini 🍸 with the fairy floss was perfect.. my dessert. Will be coming back for the shakes and desserts.

Fresh off the plane back to melbourne and bang why not get into a juicy burger! Been meaning to get here for a long while as its one of the big burger eaterys on the melbourne scene. The lucky mac was sensational, perfect meat, bun and delicious sauce. Chips on the side also done well. The thing i like about this place is they don't hold back on the menu with creativity and will be back to try something else!
