Review Rose Milk - Essendon

Great little local cafe with delicious food. We tried the butcher, as well as their green bowl special. The food is super tasty and plenty of things looked inspiring. I’d love to try the porridge too or the pork belly. They also do. a good coffee and a spiced chai latte.

Wow! The pork belly dish is a flavour explosion delight. Incredibly juicy and tasty.. it just melts in your mouth. I've instantly fallen in love. Coffee is good too and lovely customer service! I didn't know what to expect from this place, it's in a really random location, we just caught it driving past but will definitely be coming back for that amazing pork belly 🤤🤤🤤

This place is a little hole in the wall, if you drive more than the speed limit you will go straight past it. the food was yummy and filling not what we expected from your local foodstore. we went on a sunday for brunch, it was great that we didnt have to wait for a table! we ate: •Grilled halloumi The halloumi was cooked to perfection , mixed really well with the roasted muchroom and tangy fresh pomegrante, we felt like it was just the dish for the specials board. •Chilli coconut scramble We are lovers of coconut and didnt taste the coconut in the dish. although the chilli was potent, which was great. In my opinion the plating wasn't pleasant to the eye, it could have been presented better, although i get that it was scambled eggs on a brioche bun. •Wagyu beef sandwich This dish left us a bit disappointed, our friend was expecting wagyu beef, and when he got his dish he had to ask the waiter where the wagyu was ( thinking it was bacon ) none the less he finished the plate and the wedges and we left full. •Boneless pork belly We really enjoyed the pork belly, the skin was crunchy and not too salty, combined with the granola and balsamic pepper figs was an unexpected harmonious dish.

I had a great meal here but I still had food envy of the lady next to me. Great coffee, great vibe and perfect for lunch after a walk or cycle. Highly recommend.

I have come here for breakfast twice... Perfect. Everything has been thought of here and there is as much passion in the food, as the coffee and tea as in the service. This place is a gem... and some. Fresh news papers, great ambiance, good tunes and a little extra attention to detail that the afficionados will love. Things polished clean, everything in its place, no table left dirty for more than a minute and if they are then you can see the chef/?owner come and clear it and ask if you liked the food or not. This place is unique and a rare find. Don't miss the experience, yet to be disappointed here. The food is extra special and made in the vein of master chef ideals. This place gets me excited.

A lovely place to for breakfast/brunch. A great menu with friendly staff makes you not wanna leave. There is outdoor sitting though not many whilst the inside is cosy. I ordered the crumpets that came with an array of accompaniments. It was delish! I’ll definitely be visiting again!

Green breakfast made vegan with some spinach and mushrooms. Spectacular. Coffee was great too. Will definitely be back, thanks guys.

I had the eggs benedict for lunch one Saturday while I was working in the area. It's amazing to see how far the neighbourhood has come in ten years since I last lived there. I loved the feel of the place - it felt contemporary while still feeling a lot like home. The food was lovely, the coffee was on point, and the staff were a little fawning but I guess that happens some times. I'll definitely be coming back once my work takes me through the area again.

I love the coffee from here, the service is good and they have a nice menu also! Definitely will always go here will I’m in the area to get my coffee

Yummy generous sized baked eggs, but eggs a little over done. Coffee was cold too. Friendly service :)

Just a quick stop by for a afternoon coffee & cake. I ordered my usual soy latte, the barista/possible owner asked if I wanted Bonsoy or try another alternative brand they are trialling (which is lighter in soy taste so it does not cover over the coffee taste). I opted for the new soy and it tasted great👌 Also bought a fluffy blueberry muffin!

Amazing café serving restaurant quality flavoursome food at great value prices. A real treat to find this place in Essendon with a very friendly team, I'll be back soon as the menu is full of delicious items. One of the best in Moonee Valley, well worth a visit!

Great food and friendly staff! Would definitely recommend! The chilli scramble in particular was really good, and the coffee and donuts are worth having
One of my favourite local places to go drink Campos coffee. The place can be quite busy at times where waiting for a takeaway coffee can be like watching paint dry. Breakfast brunch meals are Greek influenced but can be tasty. Love the 80's music on sometimes I'm in.
Totally recommend this place

Great coffee and lovely menu at this cute corner store cafe. Lots of vegan, gluten free options. Just good clean food and quality all round. Highly recommend

First time here and was looking forward to trying it out.

The cafe space is light and open with outside seating. Service here is very good.

Now the food! I ordered scrambled eggs, roasted tomatoes, avocado and relish. The eggs were very good however the roasted tomatoes were average. Had been passed by an oven but were way off roasted. The relish at $3 (bacon is $4) was watery and way off being a relish. It was basically like watered down sweet chilli sauce with pieces of tomato added. How any cafe could charge $3 for what I got is a disgrace.

Would I come back? Probably not.

amazing! could not fault them. the owners are a welcoming family whose food makes you feel just as warm and fuzzy as their hospitality does. a great regular spot for everyone. their popularity is just more proof of how great the cafe is

I go to this cafe regularly. The staff are always friendly and the owners especially, are welcoming and eager for you to have a good experience. The food is amazing! Not absolutely every dish, but in general all the food is of very good quality and then there are some stand outs like the Haloumi and mushroom dish which is amazeballs and the omelette. I highly recommend this place for a meal or just to stop off for a coffee.

I've been here a few times now and each time the food is delicious - I especially love the zucchini & corn fritters!! The staff is always friendly and accommodating and I only wish I lived closer so I could visit everyday as the coffee is truly fantastic!

We arrived during peak time on a sunny Saturday morning. Despite how full the cafe was we were seated promptly. Our coffees came quickly and, in a city where we accept no less than the best from our baristas, we were thrilled. The coffee was perfect! I’d come back just for coffee everyday if I lived closer. The spiced baked eggs were good. The sauce should have been thicker so there was less liquid. When you got through the top layer you lost a lot of the beautiful spices on top and it became quite bland.
The staff were top notch. They were visibly run off their feet but we received nothing but smiles and wonderful service. We will definitely be back to try more :)

Came here for breakfast on Friday morning. It was such an awesome little Cafe. The place was so busy and I can clearly see why. The food was fantastic, the coffee was even better. There was a variety of meals on the menu as well as a specials board. The staff were so fantastic, so friendly and really managed to work the hectic café.

Such a lovely cafe. I really enjoy coming here for my coffee and the occasional brekky! Coffee is always smooth, hot and full of flavour. Service is always friendly and efficient! My only criticism is toast came with butter on the toast.. But my breakfast is always beautiful regardless and you can tell the chef puts so much love into ever dish.

The owner at this cafe is really lovely and accommodating! It was crazy busy and the staff seemed flustered but understandable so. Coffee was really good! The coconut porridge was delicious and a good consistency however the bowl wasn't very deep so whilst it looks big in the picture, it wasn't overly filling. I asked for some granola on the side which was only toasted sweet oats (no nuts or dried fruit). Friends had the smashed avo which they enjoyed.

Nice European styled cafe in Essendon. It has an extensive menu featuring lots of heavier, hearty winter meals.....we couldn't see any salads on the current menu..... but maybe they'll make an appearance when the season changes?? Lovely coffee though.

Small but cute little cafe on Albion Street in Essendon. My muesli was very tasty but probably would have been better had I chosen the yogurt option instead of milk as it was slightly dry. Friend had the croquettes with salmon which she also enjoyed.

The space is beautiful and the food was amazing! I had the omelette on the specials board with mushroom, fetta, spinach and some extras. Very good size serve and it was delicious - please make it a permanent addition to the menu!! My partner had the avocado on toast this visit, but did say the pork belly was another excellent choice from a previous visit.

The only downside was the service we received from one of the wait staff - she was a bit sour and unwelcoming which was a shame (maybe having a bad day?). Everyone else we spoke to was very friendly and pleasant.

Despite this we will be returning because the food and space are great!

Went here for the first time, recommended by my brother. Ordered a coffee and st martins crumpets. Probably the most perfect breakfast I've ever had👌🏻 Great atmosphere, lovely people, and great coffee and food. My new fav spot!

Very happening little brunch spot. The staff were very accommodating for us, although the cafe is small they found a spot for us to park our pram. The food was good but was disappointed they had run out of pumpkin bread and my baked eggs were a tiny bit over cooked. We will go back and try other dishes on the menu

This is a cute name brunch place and the chai latte's are lovely here. The design of the brunch cafe is pretty minimalistic and trendy. The only problem every time I come here is that they don't open the windows in the upstairs inside dining area and so it can be very stuffy and warm with all the food smells that is cooked at the front of the premise. Later when I put My jacket and my husband's jacket on when we went out to pay, smell of the food was on out jackets. The place might need some better air vents.

Amazing food and awesome friendly service. They gave us a free pork belly because they made it accidentally. Definitely recommend this place

Love the spicy egg dish and the chai latte was awesom. The cafe host and waiters were very positive and engaging. Interestingly first place i been to actually cared about what I ordered.

Sat on the outside tables, waited to get served and didn't. Went inside to get a menu but the staff initially ignored my husband. Then they acknowledged him only to tell him he just had to wait. And then took forever to get back to him so we just left. Such a shame because we live right around the corner. We'll take our business elsewhere.

This is a nice family own cafe! Really good food and coffee! I'm a eggs benedic lover and have tried many types of eggs bennies. Can guarantee this was a winner! My bf had the avocado with goat cheese and was really yummy as well. Will def visit again!

A lucky strike of fate had us walking up Albion Street right on midday when we caught sight of Rose Milk Food Store. In we walked to this newly opened cafe with the plan to grab a coffee and run, but one glimpse of their menu had us pulling up a seat in their intimate dining area. Full of natural light, the minimalist space is all white with the only hint of colour coming from a striking Rose Milk neon light on the back wall. With the kids in tow, we were travelling with two large strollers and despite taking up a bit of space, our lovely hosts were very accommodating, moving a few things around to get us in and seated.
