Great coffee and meals. Very friendly staff. I had the JiJi big breakfast.. so delicious.

Staff were fantastic. I had the French toast which looked as good as it tasted. The kids enjoyed the outdoor area. Sam was warm and friendly as he gave the kids lollies and balloons. Definitely a kid friendly place and would recommend it. Note if you have an infant, I did not see a change table in their outdoor restroom.

Great family-run cafe, perfect for families. Lovely little outdoor area out the back. Coffee was delicious and the chicken schnitzel panini was fantastic. Big, thick piece of chicken, so tender. Great place to take young kids and enjoy lunch.

We had a wonderful time at Jiji's, the place is so pretty and perfect for a outing with family and friends. The food was amazing, everything we ordered, the Mediterranean platter, pancakes, chicken sandwich, Mediterranean breakfast, the mixed berry smoothie was absolutely delicious. The staff was warm and super friendly and despite the busy Saturday brunch hours paid personal attention to our needs. It was great to interact with Sam. We are definitely going back for some more amazing times. And yes while you are there don't forget to check out their backyard and if possible grab a table there, its lovely. Would definitely recommend the place to anyone looking for a good time in Essendon 😊😍

Those cafe is one of the best in this area. Not only is the food great, the staff are just the kindest and welcoming bunch of people. Nothing better than grabbing a great coffee from good people. Keep it up! You’re a gem in the community.

Interesting concept that has its outdoor area as a child-friendly playground, clearly catering for the young family market. If you're a single who does not want to have coffee with screaming kids in the background, this place might not be for you. But the menu options are great, and the food was delicious.

Sam & the staff are beyond lovely. Food is healthy and delicious and prices are just as incredible. Highly recommend the Moroccan Chicken Wrap, basically the best wrap I've ever had. Must try!

Very friendly owners, and a fabulous play area out the back for toddlers. Lots of toys, if anything, it could probably do with less toys in the play area so that it's less cramped. The coffee and freshly baked banana bread/muffins are nice, but the rest of the menu is a bit average to be honest. There's definitely room to improve the quality of ingredients, and presentation. Alot of the things on offer you could probably make at home at the same level of quality. The bread is clearly out of a tip top packet or something similar. (They could take a leaf out of St Rose Cafes book!) I hope that they strive to improve their menu and food quality level, as I do love to bring my daughter along to the play area.

Love this little place in the heart of Essendon. Great coffee and great food. Moroccan chicken and fellafel wraps are a must try as is the great range of Lebanese inspired food. The Lebanese breakfast was a taste sensation. Fantastic for kids too as Sam (the friendly owner and dad to small kids himself) has built a kid friendly playground in the cosy rear courtyard. My parents even love this place and they never do cafes! Glenn and Rach from Perth.

I cannot recommend Jiji's highly enough. Always friendly, always great service, always great food. Sam always greets you with a smile. If you have kids, Jiji's is a must, lots of toys to play with for all ages. Jiji's Place is a real gem!

Great Food and service, very comfy atmosphere. My hole family is linked to this cafe and we all love it and care a lot about Sam , the owner, who always greets with a smile and takes the time to chat! Also very recommend for people with kids, the playground is awesome for them to play and they give them free balloons to play with. Thank you Sam for everything.<3

We went to this cafe only because the one up the road was so busy .... well what a fantastic place food was fabulous we had our 2yr old With us who had a ball with all the toys out the back & colouring in ... staff were so friendly we will differently be back .. thank you for your hospitality 😊...you don’t find many places like this ... little Gem 💎

Jiji place is a beauty. I've been to a lot of cafe visiting Australia and this place is by far the Best latte and sandwich I've ever had.

Lovely cafe, great coffee, very friendly staff, plenty of room and best breakfast ever (I had the vegan). The courtyard and tables outside would be lovely in warmer weather. Would be perfect for people with toddlers!

Had the pleasure of visiting Jiji’s this morning and warmly welcomed by Sam. Child-friendly garden with plenty to keep the kids occupied whilst enjoying the fab food and coffees. We went for breakfast early Saturday morning and we totally enjoyed it� the French toast was amazing! Best in the Essendon area! Good coffee and nice seating out the front. We had coffee and homemade cakes earlier in the week and they were delicious. Highly recommend this place and we will be back!

Sam and the staff at Gigi’s are so friendly, accomodating and great with kids. The outdoor area is so convenient with kids, they had a ball. Will definitely be back!

Great coffee & perfect temperature, warm friendly service & love the Mediterranean food to go. Very difficult to decide what to eat. Especially as the fresh savoury muffins came out straight of the oven when I was there!

This place is a bit of a hidden gem - further down Rose St in Essendon past the station. The coffee is lovely and strong, the prices are reasonable for the area and the food is fantastic. Their spinach and cheese triangles and halloumi pies in particular are homemade and really tasty. Finally, the staff are kind and make you feel at home which keeps me coming back.

Nice and cozy little cafe, perfect for kids, there is a nice little play area for them out the back in the courtyard. They also have a number of different meals for kids. I had the Vegie breakfast and for someone who usually has a big breakfast with the works, the vegie breakfast was delicious and filling. Highly recommend this place

Been meaning to try this place for a while but trying to find a parking spot can be very difficult in this part of Essendon I found the place very small but the service can't be beaten I ordered the big brekky and capuchino and both were delivered to my table promptly I found the big brekky to be delicious and plentyfull and I had an extra side of smoked salmon which it did not need All in all the places only downfall is the parking and I would recommend trying if your in the area it is really value for money food

I came here for lunch today with a group of six people. My mark of 4/5 is based on the food I saw coming out and enjoyed by others and the owners/ staff great hospitality towards my elderly grandparents (rather than on my actual lunch, which wasn't that great).Our table ordered milkshakes (which came out in the tin- two thumbs up from me), coffees, chai latte, green tea, chips, pancakes, eggs on toast, steak sandwich and vegie panini. My panini was okay, but not just the textures or tastes that i really enjoy (it had sliced boiled potato- which i dont like). However, I think i just chose badly for my tastes.

Been there a few times with my family and it's always been good! The Mediterranean brekky is fantastic! I would definitely go back there by myself

Nice cafe with a cosy family feel. Rather small, so don't come if you have a group bigger than 6 people. Nice seating out front for when the weather heats up and a little kids area out the back. Hot coffees and a great range of sweets on display. I didnt eat here but the great smells filled the small space.

Came here for coffee and a muffin. Their muffins were homemade and fresh (which is not always the case at other places in Essendon) so definitely a go to when I'm craving a sweet. Yet to try the menu, but the service was very friendly and welcoming. Will be back!

This is the best cafe in Essendon bar none. The owner knows how to make coffee and I think it's a bit of a hidden gem food wise. Quite incredible middle eastern snacks, homemade muffins! Great breakfasts and lunches. Travel down Rose St to the non busy part- you can even park!

Love this place, but can only go in dry weather as my 2 year old cannot not play on the trampoline and slide, and my 1 year old cannot not wander around on the turf! Which means I miss this place during the Melbourne wet season, cos this place is awesome, great service, food, coffee... Can't fault them in any way... Except they can't control the weather!!

Best coffee and service in Rose St!. Sam and the girls make by far the best coffee in the street and take the time to get to know their customers. Always my first pick in the mornings!

Great food and service. Came in for lunch with a friend. Service was excellent and it was lovely sitting outside in the courtyard. The food was great, they have a huge range of yummy homemade fare, the highlight being the triple chocolate cake we shared for dessert.<br/>Definitely worth trying this little cafe out!

Not pleased!. Ordered a soy latte and received full cream milk. I also ordered the big breakfast and it came out cold. Overall, not pleased and I don't think I'll be visiting again any time soon.

Miss. Jijis place is such an awesome coffee place. A love the outdoor setting and the food is fantastic. The service they provide is divine such as choosing two different types of coffee beans. They are so friendly and welcoming.

A Special Brekkie. Two friends and I spent a lazy morning having brunch at Jiji's, sitting out in the sun and enjoying the atmosphere on Rose Street. <br/><br/>Our table service was very friendly and attentive, and our drinks and food arrived in a timely fashion. All the food is home-made, and menu has both Mediterranean and Middle Eastern threads running through it. I had the Vegan Breakfast, which included the BEST falafels I've ever tasted - next time I'm getting the falafel salad! I also had an almond chai that was quite nice, though I overheard some fellow patrons saying how good their coffee was so there'll have to be a next time for that too. Both my companions had eggs, one had the Atlantic Eggs, which I was told was delicious, and the other Mediterranean styled eggs with Za'atar season, haloumi etc. All the portions sizes were very generous, and each dish came with a varied assortment of goodies on the plate.<br/><br/>I believe this cafe is a family-run affair, and it shows in the warmth of their service; it's almost like you're over at a friend's place for breakfast. Highly recommend checking it out.

Great coffee. Really good coffee and not as busy as the other end of Rose St. The food is really great value and delicious. Hopefully it doesn't get too busy so I can keep getting my coffee as I head for the train.

Love this place and kids love it more!. Very relaxed and kid friendly cafe with a great space down the back in the courtyard where the kids can have fun and the parents can enjoy a coffee and breakfast. Did I mention the food...great food and coffee. If you're in the Essendon area do yourself a favour and checkout jiji's. They will not disappoint!

My wife and I really enjoyed our Mediterranean inspired breakfast. I really enjoyed the scrambled eggs with Zaatar & Tabouli salad. Coffee hit the spot. But the icing on the cake was the courtyard at the rear! Could have stayed there all day.

Had a great day today for my girlfriends birthday. Service was amazing and food was outstanding. We were a big group of 20+ but food came out quickly and staff were super attentive. great courtyard area set up for kids also so that kept them out of our hair so extra appreciation!!!! good luck in the new business but I think it will be a great success judging by what we got today!!! Jiji's Place is a MUST.. Absolutely loved popping in for a coffee on Australia Day before my run, but then took a look at the menu and couldn't resist. The food and coffee were beautiful. Really did not want to leave, could have spent all day there. Nothing to fault. Only perfection. I'll be back, and so will my family and friends.

Great coffee and warm friendly service. Really appreciate the early morning starts so I can get my caffeine mix before the 6:53am train to the city. Omelette pesto is a must try and lots of sweet temptations to choose.

Ideal place for families. We stumbled into JiJi's this week and was delighted by the family friendly atmosphere and outdoor courtyard. Gridlock coffee was great. Will definitely be back

Fantastic place fantastic food. Great place for breakfast or lunch with an amazing outdoor area at the back which is fantastic if you have kids parents can eat and the kids can have a play safely with toys etc nice and safe. Awesome food awesome coffee highly recommend it give it a try!!!!
