Review Bird & Burger - Essendon

Went on a Saturday afternoon. Good sizes. Good prices. Prompt service. Ordered a Times Square burger meal and one in its own. Also ordered large wedges which come with sweet chili and sour cream.

I've become a regular at this place. My family all like different burgers including the vegan option. My favourite is the V2 plant based veggie burger and I swap in the milk bun. I do eat meat, but I find this is a great alternative to reduce my intake. Great service too, very polite.

Just really, really good top quality burgers. I've been here three times now and have been impressed with every option I've tried. (the Tropic, Aussie and Veggie). The burgers also seem really fresh and don't leave you with that heavy, greasy feeling, so they're doing something right!

Best burgers in the northern suburbs - flavoursome and always a high quality feed. Ive tried a variety of different types of Cookhouse Burgers and never been disappointed! The lettuce bun burgers are a winner for me as they are low carb and a healthy alternative to other burger shops nearby

Wow!! Prompt service.. I just had the 'fire up' beef patty burger, with an added chicken patty.. it was absolutely delicious! Easy to eat, didn't fall apart. Chips were also tasty. There is seating inside & out front which is convenient..

Food to impress... and I am certainly impressed with the Times Square burger, it was cooked to perfection, the chips were tasty, along with the 4 sauces, yep, I decided to try them all. After doing a delivery for your restaurant, I decided to return to try the food as I've been past here many times, although its taken this long for me to return. Thank you to the wonderful ladies that served and cooked my food, I'll be sure to visit again. :)

Make Vegetarian Burgers Great Again!!! I love Burgers but since turning vegetarian a few years back ,it was a let down where ever you go . Their Faux Meat Burger is just awesome . Service is mostly Quick too . Not Hungry Jack/Mc Donalds Quick but still reasonable.

Whole chicken was very oily, dry and overwhelming taste of cinnamon. Struggled to eat it as it was like eating chicken dipped in donut sugar. Unfortunately we won't be back but fortunately there are better places not too far away.

Found a gem here , super good burger and stunning quality , beef was so juicy and taste great, just know they Change the owner , but seems like quality was great , it’s different but better , 10 month ago I have been here , and now I’m here again , highly recommend, 100% will return and recommend to all my friends . Being a local this was the third time I gave this place ago and I wasn’t impressed. Definitely wouldn’t come back. First time the food was fresh and tasty but now it’s seems as if it’s changed owners as it’s not the quality from when it first opened. Ordered the signature slaw salad with grilled chicken. Salad had only one of the ingredients listed on the menu, and chicken was cold with no flavor. Only recommendation would be to go there if you’re after some hot chips. Disappointing.

Service was good. Got the falafel burger and bowl of chips. Falafels tasted real good and fillings meshed well together. Also loved the bun they used

Loved it when it first opened but now we get stooged on the chips and the quality has gone down hill, a large is more like a small! Still good tho<br/>Have thoroughly improved since last statement - keep up the good work

Uber let you down tonight. Food arrived cold to the point where your gravy was like glue by the time it arrived. Chips and chicken, both COLD. Not your fault as I suspect that’s not how it left the restaurant. Suggestion for you however, increase your chip portion! The previous owners would give you a bag full of chips that it was impossible to finish! You know why they did that? Not to waste food, but to show appreciation for their customers business! And also because chips cost next to nothing and are a simple but effective way of showing your generosity when you pay over $22 for chicken! Chicken - the cheapest meat in Australia. I’m happy to pay a premium for chicken when it’s cooked well and yours did have some nice flavors, if only Uber didn’t let you down. Will I order again? Maybe if I come and pick it up and you sort out the chip issue! You could add a few more loukoumades as well. The box seemed half empty for these too. And they too are made of water and flour! Cheap as chips! Good luck!

I love eating here! The food is always amazing and the service is fantastic each and every time! The satay burger, milkshakes and donuts are a must devour ! I make the hour drive as often as possible, never disappoints!

Bird & Burger is one of my favourite places to go. <br/>When my partner and I are going into the city, we can’t help but stop into bird and burger, we can’t resist haha<br/><br/>The food is made so fresh and tastes amazing. The burgers and chips are made full of flavour and are delicious, their food is to die for. <br/>Not only are the burgers and chips amazing there but the shakes are AWESOME!!!! They are another thing to die for there haha, just so yummy and agh I could go on and on about how great their shakes are!!! <br/><br/>The places is very clean, hygienic and the staff there are so friendly and lovely. The service is great and the waiting time is super quick. <br/><br/>The price ranging is really good for what you get and is very affordable. <br/><br/>Overall, Bird & Burger is a great place, once of the best restaurants I’ve been to for sure.

OMG These are the BEST burgers in Melbourne. I live in country Vic, but every time I get to Melbourne I make sure I drop in to Bird & Burger... I've actually made the trip to Melbourne JUST for their burgers and shakes! Satay chicken burger is my favourite, but their fries, shakes & gelato are all to die for... Yum Yum Yum.

Absolutely amazing food, Incredibly fresh and utterly delicious. The shop is superb , music is great, staff are lovely. I recommend this as the finest burger  shop ive seen in years. The chicken is amazing too, with great home made sauces to chose from .  I loved the roast veg salad.

I haven't written a review in a while, but after going here like 20 times in the past year I thought it was overdue that I write one for this place. To get chicken of this quality with such a detailed, meticulous cooking method would cost you ~$40 for a full bird at an upper class BBQ joint, such a place probably couldn't even live up to the quality of the chicken at bird & burger. At $15 for a full bird, this is the biggest bargain in Melbourne. I'm not even going to describe how good it is, just try it for yourself, I always order a whole bird, usually go for half lemon herb and half hot chilli. The chips are perfect and the donuts are also really great. Definitely would recommend!!!!

OMG! All I could taste were the Quality of ingredients , freshness and Chef's passion. <br/>The roast chicken was juicy and all the marinate sauce were home made and sugar free !! I tried hot Chili sauce and it tasted great! My husband had a pesto burger and it was also nice and juicy. He says "awesome". Great value for money !! Definitely come back !!

I went up to Bird & Burger as friends of mine had been and couldn't stop raving about the food, I wasn't disappointed. I had an amazing chicken burger, slaw and chips. I really enjoyed the chips and... burger, ive never been much of a coleslaw person but I did finish what was on my plate. I left feeling satisfied and full. The staff were really friendly and i loved the feel at home vibe and being able to connect with the staff. The service was great and served with a smile. If I lived closer I would definitely go back and try the rest of the menu. The lamb sounds delish.

Seriously good chicken here. Cooked perfectly - very succulent and flavoursome. Be sure to try the cookie milkshake too! Love your work B&B.

The satay chicken burger was so fresh and tasty, I opted for a gluten free bun which to my delight was soft and just like the real deal! The staff were so welcoming and accommodating! Offering two kinds of salt on the chips and if I wanted coriander to be left out of the burger, the walnut pumpkin salad was filling and fresh also. So glad I've found a good local spot for a bite to eat, wait time was next to nothing! <br/><br/>Eat local guys!

Satay burger made with fresh ingredients but the flavour was bland. The satay sauce itself was watery and lacked bite. Chicken breast slightly dry but ok. I'd suggest a satay marinade combined with a thicker sauce to bring this burger back from mediocrity. Chips were unremarkable and needed more seasoning. My son loved his chicken and slaw burger. I had a bite and couldn't work out what the fuss was about. Left unimpressed, but my hunger was at least satisfied. On a more positive note, our order was prepared quickly and the staff were friendly. I'd be willing to try something else on the Bird & Burger menu board, but this visit was only average. Not bad, nothing was defective, prices are ok, but totally forgettable.

Bird & Burger is just what we have been waiting for in 3040. Fresh, healthy & tasty! We ordered a whole chicken with lemon & herb seasoning, 2 regular salads & chips. The chicken was cooked to perfection, so juicy and tasty! The signature slaw is an absolute winner & their chips are on point. Looking forward to spending some warm summer Melb nights making use of the outdoor seating & trying more of their delicious menu!

Great service with excellent quality food.<br/>Must try the hot Greek donuts, they were delicious! Definitely will be coming back!<br/>The kids meals were also a hit.

Bird & Burger newly opened but the locals have taken to it like bees to honey, the lunch queue was quick and fast constant flow of customers. Not surprised they have fresh good quality burger’s, salads and chips. With a different drink range for more choices from the standard soft drinks which are available too. I had a Grande burger, yes beef is available too (don’t let the name deceive you ;) and a lamb burger , which is on my try next time list. Top job guys 👍

We are regular customers of bird and burger but tonight after calling the store for 15 minutes no one answered. We entered the store at 7:46pm and we were told by a young girl that 'they were closed at 8' we then said its not 8pm yet so why are you closed? Rude and we are very disappointed. Made the effort to drive there before 8.

For a place that just opened they are making some great food! We visited on a Tuesday night and right away the service was great! My gf ordered the Chicken Hula and I opted for the crumbed chicken with bacon, my gf doesn't like bacon so they put bacon on mine instead without hassle, score! They make their own sauces and seasonings for the chips and they're amazing. The crumbed chicken was really juicy and the herb mayo inside was really tasty. Even the grilled burger was juicy. Awesome value too! Can't go wrong. Can't wait to order their whole chickens soon. Think of Nandos, but better.

Absolutely loved the food here! Incredibly fresh, juicy and tasty! The customer service was fabulous and friendly and we will definitely be making this one a regular!! Highly recommend it.

This place has beautiful chicken burgers. The chicken is juicy but still properly cooked through, the bread is fresh and the ingredients seem of good quality. Decent portion size. We tried the donuts too, they are little greek style ones and very yummy. Chips had a good seasoning, could be more golden for my taste but being European I like my chips super golden, so they're probably perfect for everyone else. Looking forward to try the whole chicken. Recommended.

Friendly staff, nice takeaway shop to eat your yummy meal..we had the chicken and chips and it was fresh delicious. Portions are spot on!! Well done guys we will be coming back again
