Review Buckley Corner Cafe - Essendon

A family friendly café furnished with arcade entertainment and a television. Fairly large lunch menu from 6:30 am until 2:30 pm; and daily specials. The meals are hearty and well presented by the friendly staff.

I visited Buckley Corner for the first time for a birthday breakfast and I loved it. It is a friendly family run business with a warm and inviting atmosphere. We sat inside the seats for comfortable and layout nice. There is also outdoor seating which looked good too. For breakfast I had the fritters and they were amazing, full of flavour and taste. Two of my other friends ordered the fritters and they loved them just as I did. My other friend other the Acai bowl and it was amazing (we all had a had a spoonful). The kids ordered a kids milkshake each and it was a half size perfect for them to enjoy. The coffee was amazing the flavour, strength and warm was made to perfection. As it was my friends birthday the staff came out with a muffin and a candle singing happy birthday and played a birthday track in the background. So thoughtful! When we left all of us agreed we will be back for our next birthday breakfast. We had such a great breakfast with lots of laughter and delicious food. This will be my new local go to place.

Love the family vibe you get when you visit this cafe. They are all so lovely and make you feel welcome. The kitchen staff were also super chill when it came to making some changes to the menu. It's under new management. So if you haven't been in a while, or you've never been, pay them a visit. Thanks for looking after us this morning.

Can't say enough positive things about this place. From the welcoming owner Mia, to the breakfast itself, everything here is brilliant. One of the best breakfasts I've ever had, and I'm not easily pleased. Very accomodating to my health and dietary preferences. Looking forward to becoming a regular!

This cafe is a must. The family go out of their way to make you feel welcome & are very accommodating. The food is always delicious and the coffees are great especially accompanied with their famous homemade donuts. Our Saturday morning exercise group thoroughly enjoy our brunches there and our weekday dropins. 😊❤

Excellent food and really friendly staff. Much improved from a few years ago. New management has made a difference to menu and atmosphere. Prices are more than reasonable considering the local area and other cafes. Waiting for everyone else to catch on!

This place attracts a dedicated local crowd, and there's definitely a reason for that! Buckley Corner is my go-to place for coffees and the muffins are amazing. The wait can be a little longer for coffee than it should be sometimes

Come here at least 3 times a week early morning They have the best Egg and Bacon Turkish roll for Breaky. Coffee fantastic. Lovely Cook and Owners. Huge Fan!!!!!Go There!!!!!

Waited over 40 minutes for our food. It was not busy at all. The food looked amazing in photos, although was a bit disappointed in the quality and how the presentation was different on social media to in real life. The staff only approached us to take our order and forget about us. We didn’t receive water and never got something we ordered. The avocado dish was a bit heavy and need some freshness. The avocado was under ripe and watery. I will not be returning and would advise others not to as well

Food was very average, my poached eggs were nearly hard boiled, waited a long time for our food and it wasn't even that busy. Overall, not a great experience.

There was apparently no chips left so they were substituted for a hash brown. No apology, just told that was how it is. I will not be returning and would advise others not to as well.

We were very impressed with this restaurant!  It has a beautiful décor and relaxed ambience, matched with excellent friendly service and a great selection of delicious food and coffees.  I will definitely be recommending this restaurant to family and friends.

Build your own brekky plus a mix of more modern options this venue caters for all types of diners some options are a touch pricey but it seems that prices are going up everywhere these days

Nice clean place with very helpful staff even asking if I found it to cold with the big window open when I arrived I was quickly show a table and was reasonably empty but by the time I left they place was full of people not only does it have an all day breakfast menu but also has an all day lunch menu so there is plenty to pick from food was great coffee was strong service great and atmosphere was great I would recommend to anyone in the area to try and will return one day to try something different

Brunched here today for a family birthday. Corn and pumpkin fritters were amazing. Service and owners were lovely. A new local favourite and will definitely be back.

Great food and friendly service! Went here today had the chicken sandwich which was nice with lots of flavour and thick cut chips. Others had the beef burger, lamb salad and risotto all of the meals were tasty and good size! Also the steak sandwich which was ok. Highly recommend.

Wouldn't use uber eats for this particular cafe. Placed my order and 20 min later it was cancelled with no reason. Uber automatically takes the money from your account so now I have to wait for the refund and I'm left starving. Not worth it for uber eats.

Fantastic Lunch spot, Great service and food. The daily Juice is always good. Cajun Chicken sandwich is excellent. Great Coffee and friendly atmosphere!

Most amazing service. The chef came out to talk to us and describe the menu, explained all the foods and got a feel of what we would like to suggest something. Amazing presentation.

I came with my wife and 7 month old son and we were made to feel right at home. Customer service was instant when we were greeted at the door. We we're served promptly and food and drinks came out so quickly. Chicken parmigiana is a must for next time! Overall, great experience- definitely go back again.

Very good cafe with good food, really good coffee and great customer service! Really enjoyable place to be at with nice friendly staff and owners. Went there today (14th April) and i think i have discovered a gem. Only thing i found off putting was the chef was really loud and yelling a lot at the wait staff. Besides that, i recommend this cafe.

Special note for the young woman who served us- great customer service skills.<br/> <br/><br/>3/09/2017<br/>Visited for Father's Day today for brunch. Friendly staff and a lovely set up today (although my table didnt get any of the free donuts that other tables were given, boo). Very busy today, however pretty speedy service. Needs more soft furnishings, bigger cups of milk served with pots of tea, and needs work on making coffee hot.Having said that, the food was good: bacon, scrambled egg and avo on toast, French toast and lamb salad. Enthusiastic thumbs up for the salad.

Buckley Corner Cafe has recently changed owners and now the staff are much friendlier. Easy disabled access and lots of space to move around.<br/>We had a few issues with toast not being toasted (we were asked if when we ordered it, if we asked for it to be toasted) and the chai latte was 1/3 froth. Both of these items were taken off the final bill which is highly commendable, as many places would just not care.<br/>I ate the cajun chicken sandwich with chips which was tasty but needed to be toasted. Mum ate a ham and cheese sandwich, which whilst basic looked DELICIOUS.

food is delicious and very good coffee. No minimum eftpos on cards. Good service and kids can have free food too. If you want more details check them on Facebook. I like salted and pepper squids is so yummy.

Everything about our experience was bad. Wouldn't return even if the food was free. There are so many amazing cafés in Essendon and this isn't one of them

Pretty decent cafe located in Essendon. The brioche french toast was amazing and the brekky burger came with melted cheese stick to the bun was delicious.

Fast service. Clean shop and area. Consistent, yet not the best coffee in area.<br/>Acceptable not exceptional quality of coffee.<br/>Good choice if your in a hurry for a takeaway coffee.

Lovely location on nestled in a quiet part of Buckley St in Essendon. Covered in Windows, with the sun beaming in, in summer Buckley Corner is an enjoyable dining experience. The food is lovely, the chicken and grain salad is a nice and light meal to have with a freshly squeezed juice. The pork crackling burger is also a must try! The staff are attentive and create a comfortable ambiance.

Service is good, food is very below average and when the owner tries to tell you its your fault that you don't like your cold burger and chips and then tries to charge you for it.. thats just bad business... In his difference he offered me something else but as the rest of the table (8 others) were half way through there meals when he'd come over I had lost my appetite and didn't want to be eating once everyone else had stopped.. Definitely won't be goung bavk or recommending this plave to anyone.. unless you like an owner with an attitude problme..

Have been here several times recently, husband loves the muesli, the coffee is good, food is tasty, and service is always friendly and polite. Parking is always easy too, which is unusual in this area.

Have been here quite a few times for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food and service is always of a high quality, i really cant believe that they are often quiet with the quality of food they dish up.<br/>The spanish omlete and smashed avocado eggs are the standouts for breakfast. While the chicken pizza is the stand out dinner option.

I bèen to buckley corner cafe a few times , and every time i been in i never been disappointed the food and coffee are amazing all so the staff are very friendly

Coffee at its best. I go for coffee almost everyday to this joint and the coffee is just mind refreshing. The staff is very polite and impressive with their behaviour. Friendly staff and quality of food makes your dining experience.

Amazing lunch. Salt and pepper calamari, and a chicken burger.....sooooooo goood!!! Definite winner! Can wait to try the rest of the menu, looks fantastic!

We had breakfast this morning at this cafe and I & my wife were very pleased with the service and most importantly with the food we ordered. My smashed avocado with salmon was delicious , & my wife was very satisfied with the big breakfast. We come to melbourne every 2 weeks as our daughter lives close by and we will be back again. Love it, love it, love it!!<br/>I went today for lunch with my girlfriends to check out this new cafe that everyone's been raving about and let me tell you it was amazing!!<br/>We sat outside and enjoyed our lunch in the beautiful sun shining through the tree. <br/>Besides the relaxing ambience and funky soul music that was playing in the background, the food was absolutely amazing! So tasty!<br/>One friend had the chicken burger and the other had the New York burger and I had Thai beef salad and of course we all had to taste each others. :)<br/>I'll start with mine.... It was scrumptious!<br/>What a delightful, fresh, light salad..the combination of flavours were just spot on. <br/>Both burgers were equally delicious in there own way. The chicken was juicy and had lettuce tomato and AVOCADO!! Every chicken burger I've had around here never has avocado, it's always an expensive extra.<br/>The New York burger was absolutely beautiful with bacon pickles and this yummy ranch Mayo. <br/>Compliments to the chef I say.. well done.<br/>Let's not forget about the staff. They were very attentive and so smiley and friendly. It's good to see that you can actually find a cafe that staff actually want to serve you!!!<br/>Good job guys we can tell you pride yourselves from the decor to the food to the coffee....will be coming back most definitely!

Chocolate thick shake wonder. I have been eager to visit this place after a revamp and new management and I overall wasn't left disappointed. I loved the ambiance and the staff made me laugh - always a good sign! I ordered the smashed avocado which was average at best, but I would go back purely for their chocolate thick shake which was beyond devine. I imagine I will be a regular client of theirs and will explore other menus options.

Chef made a vegan dish on request- winning!. It's pretty hard to find good vegan food in Essendon. So when I came here for a birthday dinner I was expecting to end up ordering some hot chips. I asked the waitress if I could have the Moroccan lamb salad but without the lamb. Instead of serving me up lettuce, the chef came up with this gorgeous sauteed mushroom dish with sundried tomatoes, chickpeas, avocado, brussel sprouts and a balsamic sauce. It was so yum and I am very impressed! My family who ordered meat dishes were all jealous. <br/><br/>Thank you!
