Review Salt & Vinegar Chippery - Essendon

I have been going here for 16 years love there food and good prices .but tonight got my partner to get me a chicken burger and he asked for the roll to be toasted on the out side and the inside of roll and I don't know it was nice but she put a truck load of pepper 😤 not happy as I suffer from acid reflux if she does this again I'm going to talk to the boss cause if she can't handle with what the customer likes well that's not right if a kid had my burger the kid wouldn't be able to eat it that's how bad it was Please fix her attached

Great little fish and chip shop with very clean and fresh presentation. Reasonably priced hamburgers but cash only. There is a ATM where you can withdraw money in the shop but there is a $2.50 surcharge.

I've been going here for years since it's always wonderful, especially for the price, plus it's well-known in the neighbourhood. They only accept cash, which surprised me at first.

Being cash only, particularly after covid, is absolutely ridiculous. Not only that, you then expect people to use your ATM machine that charges an extra $2.50 to get cash out. Bad business practice. To top it off, the food is not worth the hassle. Everything stateless.

Oily but tasty. Lost a star for the fake calamari. The store add character, the owner is lovely & generous. Chips, potato cakes, fish & batter were all great & reasonably priced.

(** this venue does not take card, cash only **) These guys have a pretty decent menu, & more to the point, they have very decent pricing. Very easy to find as well, really convenient if you're doing your laundry up the road 😋🤙🏻

They don't accept card in the store so we were unable to order anything (we didn't have our cards on us, but we can use our phones for tap n go), which is extremely frustrating. They did have an ATM machine there, however, it is ancient and doesn't have the card less cash feature. Frustrating experience as my friends and I went out of our way to meet at this shop and were very disappointed. I'm not sure why this store doesn't accept card in this day and age, hopefully they'll get with the times soon! :)

Chips are the best part of any 'fish and chips' meal and Valley Seafood make the best chips ever. No other chips from any other fish and chip shop have ever compared. The chips are crispy on the outside and soft potato inside and never oily. Potato cakes are also great and there's always extras thrown in. Nearly every week for 20yrs the chips and potato cakes from the 'Valley' has complemented our own home cooked fish meal; delicious! Thanks Valley Seafood for sustained excellence
