Fabulous food and excellent service! If you are after food full of flavour and freshness this place is for you! Friendly and welcoming staff. Definitely going there again. I would recommend it 100%
Nice cafe with friendly staff. We had toast, toastie and bacon and eggs. All were good. Portion size for the toast in the bacon and eggs was poor, with on one slice of toast. We ordered coffee, tea and latte. The flat white was half froth and not hot, the tea not filled to the top.
There has been a number of new openings in Essendon of recent times, and this can only be great news for the area. It's becoming quite the foodie hub, with so many high quality venues to dine at. Social 1057 is one of these new cafes that is meeting the needs of the locals with it's fantastic menu. This large space has a beautiful interior, with lots of natural woods and light, and white walls lining the length of the cafe. The staff are so lovely, and excited to take you through their great menu.
Enjoying a delicious green smoothie and amazing coffee, I was intrigued to try the smoked eggs. So many cafes concentrate on poached or scrambled eggs, but Social 1057 is bringing back fried eggs, laden with spice and a fresh tomato salsa. I couldn't resist a potato rosti on the side, and this was easily one of the best I've ever had, with it's crispy crust and fluffy centre and perfect seasoning. The eggs were truly amazing, with so much spice and flavour. I couldn't get enough of this dish. The fresh salsa cut through the richness of the eggs, and this was a texturally exciting dish.
As it was a hot day, I also tried the acai bowl. This cafe mainstay was done really well, with a lovely creamy acai base and plenty of fresh fruit and granola. Presentation was fantastic, and I loved the fresh tastes in this delicious bowl.
In a busy part of town, Social 1057 is already gaining traction with locals; who like me, are keen to try the new kid on the block. The fact that the food, coffee and service is really amazing, and the ambience relaxed and friendly; I believe this lovely cafe will settle in comfortably and become the regular haunt for many patrons in the area.
We visited here on a Sunday and the locals are definitely loving this place because it was packed! And after tasting their menu you can defs understand why!
We sat outside, it was a cool day but it was still good weather to enjoy outdoors! We ordered coffees and smoothies, and then the delicious food which has a little Mediterranean twist to a few dishes!
Highly recommend the smoked eggs with a hash brown. Seriously one of my favourite dishes of 2019! All the spices, with a little garlic made this such a dish full of flavours you don’t expect! If you like Mediterranean flavours, you will love this!
The Smashed avo has a twist! It comes with hummus! And it pairs really well together, would recommend!
The Hotcakes were good also, not extravagant but made for taste and to enjoy with your friend and family!
Make sure to check this place out.
What a refreshing new place in Essendon!! I loved everything about this place. It was busy, yet the staff were so friendly and inviting and the food was beyond delicious. Each dish we tried had a middle Eastern influence and was incredibly unique! WE had the blueberry pancakes (YUM), the smoked eggs (BIG YUM) and the middle eastern brekkie (that hummus was everything). Every element on these dishes was incredible and belonged there.

We had an amazing dinner experience at Social! The venue itself has a great atmosphere, the staff are lovely and there's ample parking available.
The chefs were super flexible in making many of the menu items vegan for us!
My favourite dish was the Gnocchi, an absolute winner with delicious mushrooms! We also tried the vegan antipasti plate which was loaded with bread, hummus, sundried tomatoes and more goodies. The roasted potatoes and quinoa salad were the perfect side additions!
I definitely recommend this restaurant, and I cannot wait to go back for breakfast or lunch!
Weekend breakfast/brunch is what we all look forward to.
Today we went to @social1057 in Essendon to satisfy our brunch cravings.
This is a comparatively new place which offers amazing breakfast & lunch options during the day and then fine dining during the evenings.
The menu is well thought of and food is amazing. The interiors are fresh, clean and modern.
Today we tried-
- Middle eastern brekkie : this has poached egg with a twist of hummus & dukkah
- Smoked eggs : fried eggs with a twist of spices
- Risotto : made to order either with mushrooms or duck & peas
We would definitely go back and try their rest of amazing dishes and also their dinner options.
Definitely a worth trying place and you would not be disappointed at all.

Just dropped into pay a visit to the new kids on the block for a quick takeaway coffee and it did not disappoint. The coffee was great, service really friendly and quick too. $3.50 for a coffee is pretty much unheard of so that’s unreal value.
Menu looked really good too so will definitely be returning for a brunch or lunch in the near future
WOW ... A Queens Breakfast, smashed avo with crumbed feta, perfectly poached eggs, haloumi and delish bacon....seriously an "OMG shut the gate" breakfast. Staff are friendly with just the right amount of table attention. Head Chef is there to please, all special orders made with a smile and taste amazing. Perfect coffee and a big 5 year olds thumbs up on the hot chocolate. Fresh new ambience with a pleasant outdoor area to enjoy the sun. Give the "New kids on the block" a try... won't disappoint.
