Fresh and tasty. Our go to when craving take away without it making us feel sick. Large portions. Reasonably priced and the service is always great. It can get very busy so considering, our order is always taken with a smile and the wait isn’t too bad

They're also pet friendly which is great, i'm able to bring my little chow with me :)
Cannot go wrong here - unreal charcoal chicken and the salads top it off. Staff are super friendly with a nice relaxed atmosphere. Will be going back soon!
Best chicken burger! Although the place looks a bit old school and has an outdated decor, the chicken rocks!!! Best chicken burger hands down! It's so simple, there's no way to hide. The meat it cooked to perfection, juicy and with a lovely grilled taste. The bun is just soooo good and the mayo had a lemon hint to it which is just lovely! Love this place!
The young and lovely girl named Lucinda is a wonderful and well mannered girl,such a hard worker ! I would recommend she gets a promotion to manager or somewhere around that
Solid as a rock local institution. I've never ever had a bad meal here. Diet day today so I just grabbed a salad and a water. Superb Greek salad and a wonderful tabouleh. It was a terrific plate. The tabouleh was as good as the nearby A1 Bakery who really know that gear. Staff are lovely here too. The place probably needs a bit of a tart up but who cares. A mighty local joint.
You can count on always having fantastic chips here. Some of the best in Melbourne. Burgers and souvas are good and always good for quick takeaway. Eating in here you do feel like you want to glen 20 the place and wipe down the tables yourself- but hey it is what it is!
I love the chicken, scalloped potatoes and roast vegetables. It's not complete without the gravy. Everything is hot and delicious. It's an unassuming place and just serves good food. The staff have always been friendly, polite and helpful. No reason not to keep going back!
Rooster Bar reminds me of local take-away shops in my childhood years, growing up in the country.
The staff are very friendly (often offering free roast veggies, wings etc at closing), the prices are great (lots of meal deals) and the food is simple but delicious.
The highlight for me has to be the burgers and chips, 9 times out of 10 the chips are perfectly cooked golden brown and crispy with delicious chicken salt, and the burgers are generously portioned and always mouthwatering.
If you're in Fairfield after a delicious, filling, simple feed that doesn't pretend to be anything else then Rooster bar is well worth a visit and will leave you full and satisfied.
Favourite place for chicken. The salad is great. The price is excellent. We easily get take away from here once a week at least. We've also started getting turkey and chickens for Christmas Day. There is no way we could cook anything as delicious and they've done all the work. So good!!! I would recommend this place to anyone.
This place was my go to lunch spot while i was living in the area.
Food is always fresh and tastes wonderful. Chips are always crunchy and chicken is high quality. Salads dont disapoint either.

Good prices on the combos and meals, excellent daily sepcials as well.
Friendly service, excellent value. My favourite is 1/4 chicken, chips and salad... The chips are always freshly fried, crisp and seasoned just right, there's a great range of salads (for a chicken shop) and they always give you the leg quarter :D
Um.... More like salad heaven! These guys have up to ten salad varieties at a time to complement you grilled or charcoal chicken. I'm a sucker for their Mac & Cheese pasta though. Can never finish my meals here as the servings are huge! I'm not complaining though :D #foodcoma

No doubt best charcoal chicken I've ever had! I've been coming to this place since I was 12yo and now I'm 27! Been taken over hands a few times but still the same qaulity chicken and impeccable customer service. They take pride in their work! Lots of delicious salads on hand all the time and the best thing are the chips. That salt they use is just amazing! A++ guys

Chicken is really well cooked, chips are the best in town and the sides are really nice. Have had the burgers as well, which were above average. One of the best places around for takeaway chicken.
I like this place, quality/price is amazing! Been here many times for hangover recovery and never left disappointed! On the other note smiling a bit more wouldn t be such a bad thing!
The best tasting chicken in the area, very flavoursome and reasonably priced. Overall, a very positive dining experience. Staff always friendly and courteous.Highly recommended.

The rooster bar is great. The chicken is very moist, especially the breast which in a lot of place when you do buy chicken it's always dry. I love the wide variety of salads you can choose from. Lets not forget those great chip that I can't stop eating.
Well I think I have said enough give it a go and you'll know what I talking about.

Always a joy to dine here. The chooks are so tasty & sides to go with it is always excellent especially their chips. No one does chips better than rooster bar. Service by the girls are tops, even the bosses there are cool. Very professional n always greeting customers with delight ! Keep it up mates, I am coming back for more. Cool bananas .....
Why cook it yourself?. Lovely flavoured chicken; have eaten burgers, kebabs and the original charcoaled chicken and all delicious and well priced.
I knew this would be good when I walked in and it was packed! Freshest salad I have ever seen in a take away...chips were great but the roast potatoes were soggy...great local take away.
Heard about the place on Reddit and gave it a try today. I ordered Half Chicken and chips and my thoughts on the same below:-
1. The chips were a mix bag of crispy and soggy although the Chicken Salt that they use seems better seems less salty.
2. As for the chicken it's really good and isn't dry or oily. I like a good seasoning and found it really good here.
So popular and I can see the attraction. Good value for money, nice chicken, kids really rate the chips. Salads and ok too. I just would like a bit of an update to the seating area to provide a bit of separation from the crowd waiting for their take away and the diners. Also their service can be variable. Last time I waited 5min for my meal ordered after the kids. Their meal I had to follow up twice.
Easily the best chicken and chips on this side of town. Great honest and fast service, high quality ingredients and friendly staff. Couldn't recommend highly enough!!
Great place, great and friendly staff and great food with lovely flavour, they have normal roasted chicken and also purtegesse style, both are very tastey and yummy! Great choice for family meals either dine in or takeaway!
I have been here so many times it’s ridiculous, the combo deals are insane value. Recommend eating at the shop when it’s hot. So good. Love rooster bar.
A fantastic charcoal chicken house in Northcote . I have been living in the area for some time now and I always come here.
It’s relatively priced compared to the other charcoal chicken joints in the area.
But what I can say in terms of Taste and price . It’s in my favourite:)
Great place for charcoal grilled chicken and fresh salads with a range of juices. The staff are very exceptional, always slaving over a hot rotisserie!
