Cute little place near Fairfield station. Came here with my wife to have Devonshire Tea. The ambiance was lovely. The scones are freshly baked to order. They are served alongside with the tea in cute Royal Albert. The lady who served us was very friendly and polite. Would highly recommend coming to this little gem! :)

Quant little cafe, we had the Devonshire Tea deal offered on Groupon. Scones & tea served on English China.
Scones were delicious, though they were inconsistent & average in size. The biggest letdown was the dust on the window ledge beside our table & the toilet was extremely dirty.

A beautiful little neighbourhood tearoom with a cosy, vintage vibe.

We were invited to try their Devonshire tea and it was spectacular. Chelsea, the owner, brushes freshly made on order scones with salted butter when baking to give them a glorious slightly salted crust. Fluffy insides lend themselves perfectly to a slather of quality thick cream and prize winning home made raspberry jam.

We tried some iced teas and both were flavourful sweet fruity blends, crafted by Chelsea as well. They could have done without the colourful plastic straws though - a vintage patterned paper straw would have suited the vibe a bit better.

Definitely coming back for the scones, and to try some hot tea next time. 😍

This is a lovely elegant little space directly opposite Fairfield Railway Station. It’s not a large place. Five tables inside, two on the street. There’s soft and comforting decor inside. Good chairs and tables too. Nice light inside as well. Beautiful soft jazz playing. This is a lovely place to sit a while and cogitate.

I had just a coffee stop today. There’s nice decent coffee on offer here. Loved the minimalist coffee art too. Cute pattern. The famed scones coming out to another table looked amazing. I will definitely have one of those next time.

Friendly staff with amazing tea, sandwiches and scones in a cute and cozy tea parlour. Pre-Order a day in advance if you want to do high tea or the staff could look into customizing their tasting platter for you.

Fantastic scones here - buttery and lighter in texture compared to another one of my favourites (Jam & Cream). Nice quaint little place and friendly staff. The toasties were also quite nice, where we tried the chicken avo cheese and the brie turkey cranberry. Coffee was alright. Quite a lot of tea options also, although i did not try any. My family had some of the tea and they said it had nice intensity. Not a lot of food options on the menu, but will definitely be back for the scones!

9/10 ...

Plastic Pink Flamingo, Scones and Royal Albert china ....

What do they have in common?

Not much in common as they are world apart; modern Miami, classic Australiana and good old English yesteryear ... hence the conflicting theme of this "cute" little specialty tea house in Fairfield, next to the vintage train station platform ... which is complemented well with the middle lounge room, best seats in the house.
Personally I would get rid of that Pink "plasticky theme ... keep the serene vintage, yesteryear ambiance throughout the cafe, fittingly complimenting the offering and the period building frontage of the tea house.

To the main attraction here; the Devonshire tea session ... formidable range of "custom made" tea, plenty of choices, well presented in those Royal Albert china ... even more impressive with those warm, freshly baked Scones on top of a Royal Albert plate ... perfect touch of English vintage yesteryear luxury, and wait ... it comes with a small jar of homemade jam and whipped cream.

Thoroughly enjoyable, looking forward to having more Devonshire tea, thank you Chelsea. JT-07/07/2018.

PS. where's that 1/2 star Zomato

A newly opened, petite bakery in the sunny streets of Fairfield, The Tea Rose features one of the most gorgeous, fun aesthetics I’ve seen in a while. The baked goods here feel like they have come straight from a loving, home oven (which they are) and it is sure to become a popular local bakery in future. Their scones are a must get, and as is the famous sherry cake. With sunlight filtering through the windows, it’s the perfect area for a relaxed, yet classy get-together sipping on tea and having mouthwatering desserts whilst experiencing the most friendly, bubbly customer service!

Dined here for lunch today with a Groupon voucher. Great value deal. We enjoyed 2 scones each with jam & cream & a hot drink. Hubby upgraded to a milkshake. Scones were made fresh to order, piping hot from the oven. They were soft & delicious. Service friendly. Lovely quaint little cafe. Will return again for scones & tea.

Came here yesterday with a Groupon Devonshire tea voucher. The owner is super friendly and obviously passionate about baking. The scones were delicious fresh out of the oven with homemade jam. My original almond milk flat white was served split, but she happily made me a fresh one and the replacement soy flat white was delicious. Would definitely come back-might be wise to book as it’s a small cafe.

Such a lovely little cute place! We ended up spending HOURS here. Amazing selection of teas, good coffee and the BEST scones I've ever had. They even have real clotted cream, which I know from experience involves quite a process to make. Everything has such a comfortable, homely feel without it being grandma-ish, but you can tell that all the food is handmade, including the marshmallows and jams. All the tiny details (such as the heart-shaped template used for the chocolate powder on my cappuccino) really add up to a complete experience. And something surprising that impressed me was the owner; all of this was run by a single woman the day that we visited. Despite obviously having her staff-member fail her, she still managed all the tables, baking, coffee-making and cleaning all by herself. My respect goes out to her because she was still so cheerful and friendly! The scones we had were perfectly baked and hot from the oven, everything served in perfect little floral plates and nothing was ever out of place. I'll definitely be returning despite not even living near the area.

Fantastic shop. Staff are really friendly and the coffee is great. The place has a 50s vibe and make it stand out from the rest. If you are a wagon wheel fan the are the ones to get. All are home made.

Devonshire Tea: Soft and crumbley salted scones baked TO ORDER. Excellent lumpy strawberry jam. I enjoyed Leah tea ~ Oolong and raspberyy black tea. Plenty of cream <3 only complaint is not quite (another tsp would have been perfectl enough jam and was presented in tiny jar which were a pain in the arse to get the conserve out of. Much prefer a shallow dish. Thank you for afternoon tea today.

What a lovely experience. You really must go! Cannot fault anything here. Lovely owner, adorable shop decorated just so beautifully. We had devonshire teas and the teas, scones jams and cream yum! What a lovely way to spend with family or friends. Such a unique experience. I believe this would be a great lil place to take dad for Father's Day, mum and you will love it also. You will be so happy if you decide to take an adventure back in time here. We've already planned to go back again soon. Thanks again ladies at The Tea Rose.

Excellent selection of teas, almost a different Variety for every day of the month? Interesting selection of memorabilia. Scones were light and fluffy! Now for the great debate, Devonshire tea, or Cornish? In other words, cream first ot jam ? Either way it was great!
