I went back to this cafe after 2 years! A great little cosy cafe with some good breakfast options. The menu is quite simple but well done. Service is amazing
Brewing up a storm
The weather was turning bad after I did the 1000 Steps so I decided to stop for lunch at Brew'd Cafe and have myself a chicken burger and something healthier to drink this time. I took the Green Apple drink which I really liked. The chicken burger was good, really fresh ingredients and tasty, filling but not greasy as chicken can sometimes be. Happy to recommend this place.
Ordered two drinks and two eggs Benedict’s on a quiet Friday morning. Had to ask where our food went but when it did come it was delicious! Berry smoothie was great, coffee was good and it is nice and spacious inside.
Really love this local. Only been a couple of times. Always packed on the weekends. The staff are great. Coffee is awesome. I order long blacks so its hard sometimes to not get a bitter coffee. This is perfect. I even bought the ground beans/espresso that they sell in bags. Its called Zenith. Grab it. OK food. IRS quite a big menu actually. I've only ever ordered the bacon and egg toasted Sanga. The egg has always been cooked well where its just a little runny. I add avocado and tomato chutney tho and its even better. Stop in here after doing the 1000 steps!
We came here after doing the 1000 steps for brunch. It's a cafe with very nice atmosphere to it. The scrambled eggs, sourdough toast and ham and cheese croissant we ordered came out quickly and just the right portion. Coffee was great too. This will now be our favourite place after doing the 1000 steps!
A very busy cafe for the area but a great place friendly staff and the food is tasty,
Coffee ☕️ is great. They do a very nice breakfast but I suggest get there early as they do fill up quick .
Really friendly, engaging staff. The food is really tasty, good quality and reasonably priced. Coffee is great, as is the turmeric latte. Glad to call this place our local.
Food was lovely! It was nice and fresh. The sitting area was comfortable and clean, but would have preferred if my order was taken at the table.
After our usual Saturday's 1000 steps workout , we always find Brew'd Cafe an excelente place to reenergise our lost calories, with varieties of delicious freshly breakfast served by a great friendly team. I love the aroma of my short black :)
Great cafe in Melbourne's outer east. Been a couple of times and the coffee always surprises. With strong and fresh aromas and intensity. I will be back!
Favourite local cafe for breakfast on a Sunday morning! Set in the old post office, this cafe is one not to miss if your heading up to the Dandenong's for the day!
Lovely cafe. Coffee was decent, food was nice and well presented, and service was excellent. Menu was a little short and offered fairly standard fare. Would go back for a good brunch in this area!
We were looking for a place to grab a coffee after doing 1000 steps. We ordered iced coffees and iced chocolate. The drinks were pretty standard, but still delicious and refreshing. Hopefully can try the food next time!
Went here yesterday after doing 1000 steps. Was fantastic!! For a group of 5 of us, the food and drinks came out fast and seeing we just wanted something simple it was excellent- because who doesn't want that? Simple food done right! After our lunch we shared a brownie and berry slice - amazing!! Will definitely be coming back!!
Gorgeous little cafe across the road from Upper Ferntree Gully station! Delicious coffee and soup with toasted sourdough! :) would definitely come back!
Get my morning coffee from here daily as well as popping in for a bite on occasion weekends. Friendly staff that know me by name now! They make a great coffee and tasty food. I'm a fan!
Best coffee ever. Come here regularly just for the coffee. The food here is also pretty good. They have all day brekkie with specials that change regularly. Great cakes and have never been disappointed. The place is inviting and cosy and the staff are exceptional. Efficient and friendly. My biggest regret is not finding this place sooner. 10/10.
The coffee is always nice however it is disappointing that after coming in almost every weekend for over a year, that the regular staff don't recognise me. Service is inconsistent and mostly lacking. Menu is nothing outstanding, just standard for a cafe in metro Melbourne. Can't wait for more cafes to pop up in the area!
Nice cafe. Been a few times now, friendly service and consistently good coffee. Hoping to have breakfast soon
LOVE the coffee. Great coffee, good food have never been disappointed yet.
Took several interstaters here for breakfast, after awkward shuffling around small order area then dodging everyone to head out to atm to get cash we all settled in. Everyone ended commenting on how they loved their breaky and had several rounds of coffee.
Fix your cash only option, and your ranking will improve. Can't run a cafe these days and expect customers to be happy about cash only option.
What a great little find , awesome coffee , great friendly staff and yummy food
Good. Nice pancakes for breakfast but a bit noisy.Found this place through a friend who is regular here.It was quick service too.
Our regular cafe. Nice coffee, amazing mocha, very fast service - excellent for a quickly come in, eat and leave. Can be very loud at times if you're sitting in the back. Food has always been good with generous portions.
Brew'diful. Love my coffees from here from time to time. I've eaten here a couple of times and really enjoyed the food. I must say I agree with the last review about the cash only thing - I know there's an ATM outside but when it's not your bank you get charged something stupid like $2 or $2.50.
All in all, I'm happy to come here when I'm going past - better than The Royal hotel on the other corner. Service is friendly and efficient! :-)
Had a long hard morning climbing the 1000 steps of the Kokoda Memorial Trail and my girlfriends and I were looking forward to a well deserved protein hit (read: bacon and coffee please). We headed over the road to cute little cafe called Brew'd.
We entered to find wooden floors and exposed brick which gave a funky New York loft vibe. We were greeted by... Oh wait, we weren't. We came inside and hovered awkwardly around the counter for about 5 minutes, waiting to be seated, or perhaps were meant to seat ourselves? Is there table service? They need a sign or something because the barista sure wasn't in a hurry to let us know, or to even say hello really. Hmm.
Eventually someone directed us to a table and we helped ourselves to a menu. It was pretty impressive I've got to say. Lots of choice and very well priced. I ordered smashed avo, bacon and eggs which I paid for.. In cash... Because they are cash only. No I don't mean they have a $20 minimum, I mean it's 1980 again and we're all expected to walk around carrying pineapples. Ugh this is my pet peeve. If you are a business where people regularly pay you amounts higher than $10, GET AN EFTPOS MACHINE!!!!
It's very lucky that my smashed avo more than made up for this massive transactional faux pas. It was delicious! They also do really, really good coffee. Their coffees come with a little chocolate on the spoon. I love a bonus treat with my coffee, Brew'd definitely knew their way to my heart. Even if I had to pay in cash for it..
The good: nice decor, expansive menu, very well priced (avg $15 for a hearty brekky), really good coffee, bonus chocolate
The bad: cash only!!! Slightly non-attentive staff
Had breakfast yesterday. .... Had breakfast yesterday.
Ordered toast with avocados and poached eggs and an orange juice. Was really good.
Most of all was their friendly service.
The only drawback I found was that the room was not warm enough .
First time yesterday for breakfast ...loved the service...had homemade potato rosti topped with wilted spinach, sautéed mushrooms, crispy bacon and poached eggs which was delicious and reasonably priced, to top this was their chai latte.. brewed in house, the best in Melbourne...love this place will keep going.
Fast and friendly. A nice, cosy cafe which was a welcome reward after a long morning walk in the mountain. The staff were genuinely friendly and very welcoming and service was fast. Coffees were hot with lovely crema. My friend ordered Brew'd Cafe's own chai latte and said it was the best she had ever had. OJ was also freshly squeezed.
Breakfasts were delicious with very generous serves and were well prepared. Bacon was crispy as ordered and poached eggs were perfectly cooked.
We'll definitely be going back there again!
Good Coffee. Since opening around a year a go its established itself as the go to place to get a coffee in upper ferntree gully, its the only city style coffee around and the next closest decent cups are at least 5 km's either direction.
The staff are mostly very friendly and accommodating ( and there are some lovely home made sweets (the caramel slice and the various crumbles are divine)
Breakfast options are Ok, nothing particularly noteworthy but you'll be satisfied. They're accommodating to Kids too so that's a nice pluz
Oh and those complaining about no EFTPOS there is an ATM right outside the front door, its not that big a deal.
Hidden gem in the middle of nowhere. Enjoyed my breakfast $14 for smashed avo feta and bacon, bacon was a little too well done would be the only negative. I will mention also gluten free bread $2 extra. Coffee good a little too strong and not very creamy latte but still enjoyable. If you are gluten intolerant like me you are just happy to eat out and have options!
Souvlaki brilliant. Lunch was brilliant.
Open souvlaki for me, homemade sausage roll for the kids... It was great to have a nice kids menu option and a nice area for the kids to play.. Coffee was nice too.
Chef Julie's signature dish is a beauty! Homemade potato rosti topped with wilted spinach, sautéed mushrooms, crispy bacon and poached egg.
Hidden beauty!. I've been to this cafe twice, both times i've been impressed with the pricing and quality of food! There's always something a bit different to try!! The only let down of this place is you have to pay by cash & that you order at the counter!! It takes away from the wine 'n' dined experenice, still worth going!
