Such a cool cafe layout! I've seen this cafe driving past so I wanted to try it on this occassion. They had a good menu but I just had a coffee on this occassion which was delicious.
Lovely place for weekend brunch! Coffee is good and has extra large mug size. Food is juicy and tasty, always come here on weekends. There’s a corner with toys for children to play as well. Warm yellow decoration is bright and cute!
I was fortunate enough to have my 30th celebrations here at Bees Knees last Saturday night! Joey and his team were absolutely fantastic!! I not only had people telling me on the night, but the next day receiving text messages of how amazing the food and service was! I was so grateful of their help in leading up to the night and their assistance in setting up. From beginning to end Joey was great to work with. Highly recommend having your next function here! Thanks for everything Bees Knees team!! 🎈😊
We came here today for late lunch . Had wet chai , coffee , the penko beef burger and the waffle nana . Hubby is impressed by the coffee , I am happy with my wet chai in the cold weather( and a good wet chai is quite hard to find in the area I have to say ) .Highly recommend the penko beef burger , this is something that I never taste before . The beef, cheese and pickle relish are in such a harmony . Nice decor , friendly staffs. A good cafe with good food that we will recall .
Best Cafe in the area. The menu is interesting, and backed up by the quality. Generous amounts at a reasonable price. Coffee is very nice and friendly staff. Will be a regular!
Really good food and great service. I love how they have a nice modern cafe menu and a relaxing vibe. Definitely recommend this cafe for breakfast and lunch.
I go before school and on weekends, the staff are friendly and the food comes fast and is cooked to a very high quality. There's a great vibe and cute decor.
Delicious food, great service, interesting menu options, and a nice open modern space complete with a little play area for the kiddies. Loved our lunch here!
Wandered into this cafe on a whim. Service was so great and the food was amazing! If they have the Avo Cauli Toast on the specials board you must try it!!!
One of my favourite brunch places in this area. Everything is always so delicious and fresh, and the service is friendly. The baba eggs are my favourite!!
Our favourite brunch spot was superb again today. Nice and smooth almond latte (sorry no photo as I drunk it too quickly), followed by The Benny (bbq chipotle pork, poached eggs, apple slaw, apple sauce, hollandaise, greens) and a Beef Teriyaki Salad (greens, tomato, roasted cashews, croutons, cucumber, carrot, beef, ginger/soy dressing). Delicious flavour combinations and as usual friendly, attentive service. If you're looking for a good quality brunch I would definitely recommend Bees Knees Cafe.
One of my families favourite spots at the moment. Delicious wet chai, very good standard menu with new things on the specials board also tasting really nice.
Nice place with good decor... we ordered from the specials menu and it has a good variety of fusion food! Would be interested to try stuff from their actual menu next time
Fantastic coffee, great food! I can't believe this place isn't jammed full. We are always on the lookout for good breakfast places out here, and are so happy we finally tried this. I've been coming here for coffee for awhile, and they really pay attention to making a good one. The food is quality, with some very interesting things on the menu. The menu accommodates vegetarians well, with more than just the usual. We'll absolutely be back.

Most lovely and decorated cafe I've ever seen. The food is fresh with flavour , quality and well presented without fail , which is very hard to find these days. The menu has a great variety also. The coffee is just on another level. The baristas actually understand how to make the coffee. Best I've ever had!! Keep up the great work bees knees!! You guys are awesome!!!!
Very nice!! Inventive and decadent menu, lovely styling and kind service. Will hopefully become a regular lunch spot! I had the Buddha bowl with jerk chick while my dad had a chicken burger, both were delicious!!
Checked out this local cafe in ferntree gully with a girlfriend recently, definitely a cool place to check out! I was feeling a little decadent and started with a cherry ripe shake, was spot on! Then I had the monte christo savoury French toast with ham, cheese, blueberry jam! Brioche is my fave so it was a winner! Carmen N
I really love this cafe. The food is really amazing. I have eaten many of their meals and I have a new favorite today - The corn fritters with maple glazed bacon. Best thing ever. The coffee is reliably fantastic which is why I started coming here. The staff are friendly. It's clean and welcoming. Great for families/groups and still welcoming to someone like me who comes in alone to get some uninterrupted writing done!
Update: My family and I have new favourites - the Buddha bowl, the Korean taco and the Eggy bread from the kid's menu. I keep meaning to take a photo but we are drawn in by the aromas and presentation of the food and can't stop to get one! A photo of empty plates, perhaps?!
This food fusion place was very good indeed. The eclectic menu and the specials board made the choice hard... my wife had the potato hash and I had the Cuban pork hock with DUCK FAT FRIES. Very tasty. It feels like an American diner meets Melbourne cafe - with lots of choice and heaps of love in every bite. Great service. I live ages away, but would go again if nearby.
I have stopped in for coffee and lunch twice, both times was lovely, I couldn't fault the coffee or the food.. My only fault was the young wait staff, they don't seem happy ?
Good! Friendly staff, very relaxed... Excellent coffees and amazing cakes. This was our First time, we will def be back.... B.
Noticed this place the other day and thought it was worth a visit. It's nice and spacious inside and looks great. The dinner menus are small and fiddly to read over multiple pages, they look cute but it's fairly annoying. Could do with 1 or 2 more craft beer options. And there is nothing for kids except a side of chips. The food overall was good, the standout was the beef cheek tacos which had a hard shell wrapped in a soft shell. I'd never seen this before and it worked really well and was delicious, the kfc wings were also delicious. And they were actually spicy which is good for a change. The negatives were the duck, it was cold and a bit dry, the home made plum sauce was very watery and flavourless. Not a great dish but it could be with a richer thicker sauce. And the wontons. They were not good at all. Massive bubble of pastry with a tiny amount of filling, they were wrapped wrong, looking more like a curry puff than a wonton, and the cheap plastic disposable syringe full of sauce was a bad touch. It look very out of place. But over all we were happy with our meal, it's reasonably priced and will be back for sure.
Another great café in the area. Noticed it 2 weeks ago so popped in over the weekend. Really enjoyed the experience and food. Pretty simple, bright layout but the menu has some interesting stuff on it. Went for brunch so ordered Poached Eggs on Toast with avocado and a rosti. That rosti...wow. Have to go back for that. Friend ordered the Corn Fritters. They were okay...but there other stuff looked better. Saw the Smashed Avo dish come out and that looked awesome so wanna go back for that. Coffee was really nice. They are open for dinner as well (Thurs to Sun) which is definitely something unique for a café and the food on the menu looks universal. A bit of American, Italian, Indian/Middle Eastern and Vietnamese flavours. But if executed well it could work out.Good job guys.
Bees Knees looks just like your average little local eatery from the footpath but inside, wow, it is a real gem. The decor is warm, modern and friendly and the service is excellent. From the instantly supplied water to the smiling, helpful waitress we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Coffee was great and I really appreciated the choice of milks...soy, almond , normal and lactose free....sensational! Not a huge menu but it was still difficult to choose. My Rice flour omelette was sensational. The shredded veg looked amazing on the plate and the drizzle of aioli was beautiful. The marriage of flavours was superb.Had not had it before but will have it again after I have tried some of the their yummy things on offer like meusli with coconut yoghurt and fruit, house made hash browns or pumpkin pancakes and the usual eggs on toast. Chips were plentiful with loads of aioli for dipping. I looked at what other diners had and they appeared equally as scrumptuous and noted the generous servings and then empty plates. We will be back.
I drive past Bees Knees on my way to work everyday and decided to stop for a coffee one morning. It was a really nice coffee! I then decided to come here for breakfast that weekend and really enjoyed the food and the diversity on the menu. Great little place. Highly recommended!
Sweet little place. Loving the vibe and the food was delicious. Quite fancy for ferntree gully but i loved it. The food we ordered was epic and the Mrs. Loved the coffee. Will be going back for sure and am excited once they start doing dinner.
Great local brunch spot at the new @beesknees_cafe. Both design and food had the extra details that was evidence that these kids have spent the time to think about to be fresh and cozy at the same time. Every one of our plates was spot on (except maybe the duck fat chips which arrived slightly cold and soggy) which screamed a high attention to ingredients n produce. These things matter, and sets any melbourne brunch spot above the rest.
Coffee- we had a flat white in their houseblend (composition of ethiopian, kenyan and sth american) roasted medium. Quite dark for milk but nice all the same. I had the colombian single origin and even through this blasted cold the fruity tones sparked through. 4/5 ☕☕☕☕ from the fam bam. ..
Great to have a decent cafe in the neighborhood finally! The coffee was great and the smashed avo was yummy. Whilst it is only a small menu, everything we saw looked amazing. We will be back
Accidentally stumbled upon this little gem and we were so pleasantly surprised! After a long morning at the 1,000 steps we wanted to find something local to eat and were initially trying to locate another cafe in the same shopping strip, but the Bees Knees Cafe's contemporary and warm decor caught our eyes. The menu is interesting and refreshing, every dish that came out of the kitchen looked vibrant and amazing making it so hard for us to decide what we wanted for brunch! The service was really nice and the coffees came out with pretty coffee art. We ordered the smashed avo, potato hash and the special morrocan crumbed eggs and they were all so good. Will definitely be back the next time we tackle the steps!
