Review Caesars - Ferntree Gully

Ordered Trio of Dips and Oysters Kilpatrick through UberEats app. Rang Manager and complained about quality of food delivered and was told to contact UberEats. Didn’t have a problem with the delivery service. I had an issue with the food on the menu. Bacon was not cooked, oysters were dry and 2 didn’t even have bacon on them? The Trio of dips was baked pizza dough with 3 supermarket dips. Very disappointed and more disappointed with customer service I received.

We have been regular customers here for 10 years. Seriously considering whether to go back again after tonight's poor service. Firstly a surcharge of $.83 for paying via eftpos on an almost $50 meal for 3. Not a credit card, ALL CARDS. So unless you pay cash, you will be stung. Secondly my carbonara has pepper on it. So no dinner for my son tonight & the fettuccini is either snapped in half or cooked too long. It's all short, like I'm eating baby food. Extremely disappointed. Response: it was late (for us) to eat already. This is why we ordered from you in the first place. The option to pay cash was offored after I had arrived at the restaurant. The main purpose of my review was to inform others that if they wish to avoid the surcharce, bring cash. It would have taken me another 10 min to leave & return with cash. I didn't notice the meal wasn't quite right until I had arrived home. It would have been much longer had I asked for another to be made. I've ordered many carbonara's & never specified 'no pepper' which is why my son has always enjoyed it. Instead of trying to make me feel like a valued customer here you have simply just argued each point I have made. This seems to feel like it's all on me. 'I should have known to bring cash, to ask for no pepper & double check my fettuccini is long before heading home'. I also need to check my account now after being double charged here in the past with no apology, just reasons given for how it could have occurred. Sorry for being such a painful customer. I will have to make myself a check list so I'm not such a nuisance if I return.

Been a regular for several years. I recommend the caesars ribs. All the pizza's are amazing. I know some people have complained about the pizza base; honestly, I think fresh every day pizza bases are a mystery to them. It's good.

Last night was the second time in a row we had eaten here and had a really poor experience. The first time I ordered the carbonara with penne pasta and it had to be sent back due to the pasta not being cooked. Last night I ordered the schnitzel and it was burnt so I sent it back, the second one came out and it was burnt also. I told the manager and his response was I can’t do any less or it will not be cooked. How about turn the burner down and cook it slowly or better yet pop it in the oven. Upon sitting down we asked for water for the table and no glasses were given. The lighting in this place is appalling. Just a horrible experience two times now! Definitely do not recommend.

Very disappointed after the rap that I had received about the seafood platter. We picked a few meals up tonight in the time specified, crumbed seafood was overcooked, chips soggy and under cooked. Just disappointing, sorry won't be going back!

Amazing food! Never a bad meal. Massive portions with a generous price tag. Most incredible Italian-styled comfort food my friends and I have ever had. It's no wonder Caesar's won best steak in Victoria... P.S the mushroom sauce is to die for! The service is also always wonderful.

I am a regular customer of Caesar's Restaurant. My family dines at Caesar's restaurant once a week with my partner and daughter. I have been to many restaurants and services have been good and bad but every time i go to Caesar's the service is always prompt and excellent. The girls who serve are amazing who never fail to check up on customers if they require anything. The Restaurant manager is always helpful. The food is just as awesome as the lovely staff there. Hats off to the chefs of Caesars Restaurant food is always made with perfection. This Restaurant not only has good vibes but a pleasant environment to be with your family for dinner.

Staff were lovely however the food is pretty average. My friend’s chips were very over cooked and the tomato’s in the burger were cut as wedges instead of slices. My risotto wasn’t cooked enough and had too much onion. Not to mention how hot and humid the restaurant was.

Can not fault this place! Beautiful food.. friendly and caring staff. One of my families favourite restaurants!! We are always made to feel welcome at Caesars ��

A group of us go here fairly regularly, & the food & staff have always been great. Last night, however, we arrived at 6:30 (with a reservation), yet did not receive our meals until approx. 8:15pm. This was despite several other tables (who had arrived after us) being served their meals while we were still waiting. Very disappointed with the slow service, as we were already very hungry when we walked in.

Best place ever for great food at a great price, has not changed in years. Ten out of ten for my family.

Family came for Mother’s Day lunch, waited 1 hour and 25 minutes for our meals. Every single person who ordered after us received there meals before us. Our meals arrive and they are tiny and the chips are basically cold and soggy.

Caesar’s has always been one of the best restaurant for steaks in my opinion, however on my visit last night my eye fillet was not up the excellent steak that this restaurant usually serves, the owner offered to cook me another one, which I politely declined and suggested he informs his supplier. The service and staff are excellent, will certainly give it a go again

Coke was flat so didn't even want to try the food. The lady was really nice though so 5 stars. Would come back for a chat but not a coke.

I rang to get a take away order, they told me it would be 45mins, fine with that they were busy, their staff were outside eating pizza's. When i asked how long would my order be, they said there was no order placed. FFS then they said they could quickly do it could i wait another 30 minutes. Stuff that, never going back and wouldnt recommend to anyone. This is not the 1st time this has happened. RIP CAESARS, you are shit

Overall, this restaurant punches above its weight in terms of food and service. Standouts were the excellent pork sausage bangers and mash and the crepes with delicious strawberry compote and vanilla ice cream. Gelati, particularly the chocolate flavour, was very good. Pizzas were suburban rather than Italian style but tasty. Porterhouse steak was quite good, with a nice garlic sauce, very reasonably priced at $25. Less successful were fairly tasteless herb and garlic focaccias, mediocre chicken schnitzel and ordinary chips. Service was good, friendly and accommodating. The waitstaff coped well with our party of 14. There was quite a long gap between courses, which was fine for us but you might want to ask for meals to be served more quickly if you are in a hurry. The restaurant itself is fairly plain and lacking in character. We went on a very hot night and the aircon struggled a bit.

Great Italian food, eating in or getting delivered Caesar's never fails. Some of the best pizzas I've had and their moroccan lamb is to die for. Love it

very low quality food, myself and my guest are both sick within 15 minutes of eating this food, my guest has been vomiting, im quite ill.<br/><br/>Had to wait 45 minutes for pasta dishes that are not fresh nor prepared today i am very certain, Everything we ate left an bitter aftertaste in our mouths.<br/><br/>overprices ill prepared low quality crap, will NOT be returning ever, and will be telling every one i know the same.<br/>Would give less then one if possible.

I am surprised this restaurant is rated quite low. <br/><br/>This restaurant is local to us and somewhere we frequently go for affordable, tasty and quick feeds.<br/><br/>Pizza, pasta and a range of other typical pub style meals are available. <br/>It's quite affordable, plus there is BYO wine.<br/><br/>They let you pay for your items off the bill too, so it's good when dining in groups. <br/><br/>Staff are always friendly and attentive. <br/><br/>Full menu is available for takeaway too, including the booze, woohoo!

I came out to Caesar's Italian for a birthday dinner the other night and I will be honest, I'm an inch away from giving this experience the full 5 out of 5! There was barely anything negative to come out of eating here. The pricing was fantastic, the staff were super prompt and energetic, friendly and welcoming and they always made sure everyone was enjoying their experience!<br/>The food was super tasty and the portion sizing was practically spot on!<br/>Definitely one of the better restaurants in the area! Extremely underrated and every element of this restaurant experience impressed me.

We dined here on a Tuesday night and were surprised to see the place so busy, always a good sign. We weren't kept waiting and the staff were efficient and friendly. The food was nice and we really enjoyed our visit so we will certainly return when in the area.

Have never had a bad experience at this place. The food is fantastic and the staff are always friendly and welcoming, would recommend this place to anyone.

Just had a family dinner down at Caeser's and the food was pretty great, but the staff were exceptional! We loved the service and will be coming back.

The interior design has recently improved with the new floor. Hoping more is to come but I still happily go with my family for a great meal. Food is lovely, all of my favourites continue to impress and the staff are lovely!

even though it was a weekday we were suprised how busy this local restaurant was we had our family dinner great food and really nice staff diffently will be back every dish was fresh and hot and the pizzas were tops everything we asked of the waitress she was happy to explian to us with a smile diffently will be back thank you guys

Popped in for a late dinner Sat night. I've had the take away menu for ages and I never go out for Italian so gave it a go. The interior is a little dated but okay. Ordered the garlic, cheese and herb focaccia to start. Was great. Needed bit more garlic and herbs though. Bf ordered Veal Parma and I got the Veal Scollopini (veal fried with a white wine cream sauce with bacon and mushrooms). Bf said parma was really good. And it is definitely hard to cook veal right. My veal was also cooked really well. Wasn't chewy at all. Only downside was that the sauce was really quite rich. Not a usual order. The pizzas looked really good so will have to try for take away. Enjoyed it and would go back.

Don't know what all these other people are talking about, been coming here for years never had a bad experience here. If you love garlic the garlic and cheese foccacia is to die for. The amount of garlic would turn any vampire away. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. Always attentive to any customer needs. Its our little hidden gem.

Ordered a takeaway tonight. When I arrived, the order was incorrect. The poor kid on the counter had no idea what was going on. Finally after waiting another 20 minutes I was on my way. When we started eating my wife found there was normal pasta among her gluten free pasta which really is unacceptable. She called to complain and Michael couldn't have cared less. He implied my wife was lying. What a loser. Will never set foot in that place again and will tell everyone I meet to do the same. Crap food and crap service.

Rate 1 but it should be zero!! Terrible terrible food. Progressively worse over the years , stopped eating in a couple of years ago due to food so simple anyone could make in the comfort of their own home without the massive check. But tonight was the final straw, may I please have toppings with that cheese and not to mention half a bottle of oil that accompanied the cheese! Never again!!

Very nice place and well accommodated for large groups. Food was very good and quite large servings. Service was incredible, very easy to get drinks etc.

A good little suburban Italian restaurant. If you stay away from the fancy dishes you'll have a good solid filling meal. Stick with pasta and bbq meat lovers pizza. <br/><br/>Overall you will have good meal when you don't feel like cooking

I had the worse kind of chicken parma only one can imagine !!<br/>It tasted like it was frozen for a year and when I asked the chefs name whom cooked it, they said Chris<br/>I don't know why you would hire someone that does not cook fresh chicken and if it was not fresh, it was the worse parma I've ever had.<br/><br/>I will not be back and I am telling my good friends how horrible the food has become.<br/><br/>The sad truth is that this use to be a favorite local joint of mine forgood Italian food.<br/><br/>Hire an Italian head chef.

After being a loyal customer to this restaurant for a number of years tonight we ordered take-away via the website and for the 3rd time the note on the order for no BBQ sauce had been ignored. The other 2 times I've let it go but tonight I decided to phone and express my concern. The 'Manager' was not interested in what I had to say and only told me that the note was not on the docket their end and in future I should write the note elsewhere. No apology at all. I was just advised they would save the docket to prove it next time. After a bit of back and forth I advised the 'Manager' that there would not be a next time due to the way this had been handed and he simply said 'Ok, goodbye'. <br/>It would seem customer retention is not high on their list

Production line food. When we read the reviews of Caesar’s, it looked like the main complaint was that the service was slow. No problem, we thought, we were in no hurry...<br/><br/>We had oysters Kilpatrick and seafood crepes for entrée. The oysters weren’t exactly fresh (and there was no Tabasco in the sauce) but they were OK. The crepes were good.<br/><br/>Almost an hour later, our mains arrived: spaghetti with “Fruit di Mare” (the menu here shows as much attention to detail as the food). It had three parts: bits of fish and seafood microwaved to the point that they were hard, crumbly and tasteless; a seafood sauce base, again microwaved to the point of flavourlessness; and the pasta, which was cooked perfectly. The three parts were then mixed together in the kitchen to create our dinner. It tasted of shortcuts, even though we had to wait almost 60 minutes for it. I don’t go out to pay money for food like this. I don’t understand why anyone would: It was awful.<br/><br/>To the restaurant’s credit, the wait staff were all great and apologetic about the long wait. The problem here is in the kitchen. And it’s a big problem.

Foodie. A little bit of lygon street is now in Upper Ferntree Gully Caesar's Italian restaurant is really good. We have been there many times and keep coming back, why go to Lygon street with you have it in your own backyard.The menu has lots to chose from and the specials board always has a great selection, we have even had a few of my work dos here and everyone loved the food. Staff are friendly and service is really good once you try this restaurant you will be sure to go back again and again. Tip do book as they are always busy

Don't bother!. Had a 7.30pm booking and walked out just before 9.00pm having not received our meals. Three or four other tables who arrived after us received their meals which was the last straw for us. We didn't order anything complicated to justify the wait time. I was told the meals 'were on their way' yet other plates continued to come out of the kitchen for diners who had arrived much later than us. The staff really couldn't have cared less. No apology when we walked out either .. just a dumbfounded look from the female waitress!

Bad service, extremely rude young girl.. Whilst the food is edible and a good option for take away, I have never found the service to be helpful. There is one waitress in particular who is very rude, just as an example of one encounter with her: I ordered a garlic and cheese pizza which she promptly told me is actually called focaccia, but on the menu they're two different things so I said no I want the pizza on the take away menu and she was very rudely responding well it isn't called a pizza it's called a focaccia so do you want that or not? Also when I said it was for take away she said do you mean pick up because we don't call it take away here.. Well sorry miss correcto :S<br/><br/>If it weren't an easy option I would definitely be finding another Italian restaurant that makes there own pasta etc (very evident it is packet pasta, especially the gnocchi!!).

I ate here once 5 years ago and it was terrible and recently had to return because a family get together. Wow wasn't I surprised! The food was lovely!!!! The kids meals are fresh and deliscious. So happy to see the chicken nuggets were in fact chicken tenderloins crumbed! My dish chicken with a seafood sauce was amazing (although wish there was a couple of extra prawns!) my hubby had the Parma and it was great. we will certainly be returning!

Regular attendee. I frequently return to this restaurant as I know the staff are friendly and the food is good, especially the gourmet pizzas. I have always been seated and attended to right away. Happy camper. :-)

Food is poor. Wouldn't say they use quality ingredients. Takeaway pizzas were cold and the pastas are at microwave meal standards, not restaurant quality. Wouldn't try again but will say delivery staff are friendly.

Recently went back after a 7 year break. Last meal wasn't good but this time I was impressed. Very attentive wait staff. Very fairly priced. Busy restaurant and food wasn't over salted like any Italians places do. Overall for a family dinner it was a gem. I'll be back

Just waited 37 mins for takeaway pizza and pasta, I was the only person waiting and none of the staff ever came to let me know why it was taking ages - turns out they sent my pasta with another order and had to make another 2nd time this has happened here won't be going back again!

Very disappointing. Use to love this restaurant. Lately though, food has been pretty disappointing. I ordered a chicken schnitzel and expected a freshly crumbed crunchy and very tasty schnitzel. Instead, I got a soggy very greasy chicken fillet that had no taste. Every time I cut into it the grease oozed out and left me feeling sick. This restaurant used to be fantastic food at a great price. Now...you get what you pay for. The best thing here is the cheese and garlic pizza. Won't be back,

Love the steak and pizza. Now I must admit I havent ordered from here for a while - having moved to a further suburb. <br/>I used to order the take-out of pizza.<br/>I love my Margharita pizza and Caesar takes the no.1 spot on my list of favourites. (they knew my order off by heart whenever I called)<br/>Have also eaten at the restaurant, I would totally devour the steaks I ordered - always cooked to perfection of medium rare.<br/> - Not sure if the same owners are still there - but they were great, nice and friendly people along with their staff.

Still at the restaurant and have been waiting an hour for a medium steak and some ribs. Looks like everyone is waiting. Except for a few tables who have has entrees and mains in the time we've ordered and waited. Very annoying and very unprofessional.

Great food ... rude staff. I've ordered from Caesar's many times, usually for home delivery ... while I love the food, I find the staff can be very rude, usually it's an older guy that answers the phone and he's the rude one ... when I said I'd like to order home delivery his response was "Sigh ... you and everyone else in Melbourne ... what do you want" Recently I've had much more pleasant staff answer the phone so hopefully he was relieved of phone duties permanently!

Usually love the food and service but last week was a let down. <br/>Salad and pizza was forgotten. Waitress said she didn't hear us, yet she asked if we wanted that out first for entree?? As meals were finished another waiter brought out our missing food and we presumed it would've been for free or got an apology. When will restaurants learn, that when mistakes happen.. Say sorry, don't charge the $10 and you'll have us back every Friday night.. But instead we don't want too now

Not Recommended. Not good at all. Our food took 1 hour to come out. There were multiple problems with the food that was served - two orders at our table were taken incorrectly and the wait staff then tried to tell us the mistake was ours not theirs. My wife's Sambucca risotto was lukewarm, undercooked, barely edible and tasted bizarre. My mains-size salmon penne was exactly the same size as my wife's entree serving. Why did I bother ordering / paying for a mains serve? As for my meal it was bland and pretty disappointing. Alot of pasta and just a couple of scraps of salmon. Any small request that was made of the wait staff was met with attitude. Finally I was charged full price for my undersized mains and we also had to pay for the bizarre risotto. A very negative experience. Really unimpressive and we will not be coming back. Come on Caesar's, we expected better than this!!! On the back of their business card it says "Excellence and Perfection is Our Aim". You're not even close guys, Not by a long shot.

Brilliant food, friendly staff and the four of us (2 adults , 2 teens) left very full. The Chicken Parma and Seafood Risotto were highlights. Great value, four meals garlic bread and milkshakes fir $75!. Not bad.
