Review Cafe Ko Bar And Grill - Fish Creek

A classic hotel with a classic atmosphere. Very friendly staff and a solid selection of staple pub meals. They also have a bottle shop here which is pretty handy. We ate in the Oberon room, which was a quiet part of the hotel with paintings by local artists on display. Would love to hear the story of how/why the fish on top of the hotel is the way it is. Make sure to come here if you just want a decent pub meal.

I had dinner here and ordered the Parma. The chicken was a bit dry and I eventually got over it and didn't finish my meal. Chips were better. Service was much better than the food. If you have other options, then I would go there (there aren't any nearby options for dinner). Otherwise, the restaurant here is fine. Not great, but good enough. Alcohol was cheap, though, so that was a saving grace.

The staff were lovely, and the service they provided was friendly and efficient. I don’t have a bad word to say about their staff. The room however, was not lovely. I used Booking.com and the photos looked lovely on the main page, but you need to look closely at the photos for the specific room you are booking, as some of them are in the hotel, and some are in the motel at the back. We unwittingly booked a room for the motel out the back of the hotel, and there is a marked difference in quality between the hotel and the motel. The carpet was old and stained, the room was very dated, in need of a fresh lick of paint, and a replacement counter in the bathroom. The bathroom door also scrapes loudly on the bathroom tiles when you open or close it, which means bathroom trips in the middle of the night wake up your partner. There was also a floodlight right next to our room window which illuminates the beer garden; that stayed on most of the night, which made it hard to sleep. Obviously not within the total control of the venue, but the patrons leaving the pub at the end of the night are not particularly considerate. In particular, the one punter that set off their novelty car horn four times before revving their engine as they drove off, at around 11:30pm on a Friday night. Finally, at $280 for two people for two nights, it was more expensive than most Melbourne hotel rooms. If I were to give them another chance and book again, I’d book the ‘Budget Double Room’, which is significantly cheaper than the ‘Queen Room’, yet of a noticeably higher quality.

Massive props to the chef! If I could give 6 stars I would. Easily the best steak I have ever eaten, wouldn't say that lightly either as it's my favourite food. They're amazing! Every steak fan needs to try this place out 👏👏👏

There was a special called ‘duo of bones’ that my bf and I decided to try. 1.4 kg of tomahawk steak and 800 g of ribs. It was very flavourful and cooked to perfection. The staff were lovely overall! Would recommend stopping over her to eat if on a weekend getaway to Wilson’s prom.

Good food. Service was great. Must get the sticky date for dessert. It's enough for 2 people or 1 very hungry person who didn't get their fill from main =)

I had the pleasure of dining at the Fish Creek Hotel for dinner. Great service by all the bar staff and waiting staff. Special compliments to the Chef . The 300gm Scotch Fillet steak was cooked to perfection. I look forward to my next meal at the Fish Creek Hotel when visiting friends in the area.
