Ah, Viet Rose, how does your laksa get so creamy and dreamy? One of the best laksas of my life. Some of the other things I’ve tried, like the Chinese broccoli, weren’t so good. Sometimes you end up waiting a little while for your order to be taken too. However, their veg laksa saves the day and will keep me loyal to them for a long time to come.
Really good Bahn Mi up there with the best! Roast pork was incredible, so juicy and plenty of crackling which added nice salty flavour and crunch.
Had the grilled chicken with rice. It came with some Nick Cham dipping sauce which was a nice accompaniment. For the price ($13) it was pretty good — basic but flavoursome. The place is distractingly loud and the service is no nonsense, but that’s not really what you come for. A solid feed.
Yummy baby vegetable and tofu laksa bowls for entree went perfectly with the vegan vermicelli rice noodle bowl, and fast food service, sadly were out of the 3 colour drink but the ice coffee made up for it.
ToFeedTwo became ToFeedSeven for a birthday celebration. A bustling, fun restaurant that is popular for a very good reason. A must for those wanting decent Viet!!!
We started off with multiple entrees which included Chicken Satay Skewers, San Choi Bao and not photographed, but Rice Paper Rolls. The Satay sauce with the skewers has to be tasted to be believed - one of the best we've had (with a bit of kick!) and the San Choi Bao was great, full of flavour.
Mains included Noodles with Laksa Soup with Chicken, Soft Egg Noodles with Chicken & Vegetables, Soft Egg Noodles with combination, Rice Vermicelli with stir fried Lemongrass Beef & Spring Rolls and Rice Vermicelli with stir fried Lemongrass Chicken & Spring Rolls. The Bun's are a great size and very filling, easily up there with the best in Melbourne. All mains were beautiful and no one faulted their meals.
Viet Rose isn't anything too special but it is still quite delicious. Simple Vietnamese cuisine with quick service and a fairly big menu. Probably one of the better pho places around Fitzroy.
Really good, affordable Vietnamese food. Highly recommend the sos duck if you like spice. Fried rice is also good. I asked for fish sauce and they brought out a little bowl with chilli in it.. bonus points!
Great option for a cheap meal! We are regulars here when we cant be bothered to cook. Best Vermicelli bowl in Fitzroy. Go for the grilled chicken option!
The best Vietnamese restaurant in Melbourne, hands down. The hot and sour soup is my favourite, highly recommend the chicken version with rice noodles and vegetables. Amazing.
Thanks for the consistently amazing food, Viet rose.
The slice beef& beef ball Pho with curry laksa soup is fantastic, definitely come back for some more. Very generous on the beef, and right amount of pho and the soup. Perhaps more beef balls next time.
Tina. Delicious food! Viet rose laksa was just yummy, clearly the best laksa i had. Service was good, everyone was very friendly. I would defininately come back here. Highly recomended!
Wow! Beef satay that will make you jizz in your pants! More sauce!!!! I could bath in that brown oily peanut cream. Tasty!
Friendliest cats around. Mini Veggie Laksa and Combo Spring Rolls and Beef Satay Skewers... amazing. Casual and fast. Love it.
Best asian ive ever eaten !
Been coming here for years...always consistent. My fav dish is the Rice Vermicelli with Grilled Pork - at $9.50 it's a great, cheap & filling meal. Recently had my bday there with a large group of people - staff were very accommodating & understanding of everyone's needs. Thank you VietRose for a lovely birthday dinner.
Food was delicious & fresh! Staff were very friendly and made us all feel very welcome considering the large group we had 16 of us at once! Highly recommend it
Food lover. My family and I have been dining in at viet rose for the past 7 years and until today viet rose still is my favourite restaurant. The prawn spring rolls got to be my favourite dish and also the squid in salt pepper. Great quality of food and great service too!
Delicious. My boyfriend and I shared a lovely dinner here a week or so ago. We shared a fried rice dish with pork and pepper sauce. The quality of the food was great. Another thing i loved about the place was the set up. Was much nicer than sitting in places like Lam Lams on high street. Overall great experience and great food!
"GREAT FOOD" Just had dinne.... "GREAT FOOD"
Just had dinner at Viet Rose with my parents and the food are amazing.
Best laksa in Melbourne, and cheap!
Great cheap eat!!. My favourite will be the prawn spring rolls, rice cake with sugar cane prawns and laska... can't go wrong with the dice cube beef with tomato rice and half cooked egg! best value for food :)
byo as well
A favorite. You wouldn't tell from the decor but this place is a little gem. Good, honest Vietnamese food at its finest. Stunning rice paper rolls that win me over and keep me coming back time and time again.
Noisy & noise. Bloody noisy joint but food is reliable.
Twice a week for three years - staff are very helpful and sweet, food is amazingly fresh and fast. Highly reccomend clear soup with veggies and tofu, clean and fresh.
Cannot say enough good things!. This is one of my favourite restaurants in Fitzroy. If I dont go here at least once a week I get a bit out of sorts.
Vegie Spring rolls are awesome every time. So fresh and full of flavour.
Mixed vegetables with Tofu and Satay sauce is a dish I could eat every week until i die.
Its BYO (yes kids.. you can even bring a slab here.. just ask very nicely and tip well)
Its brilliant fresh tasting fantastic food and I would recommend to anyone that they go here rather than taking a lucky dip with your Vietnamese restaurants on Victoria Street.
The prices are average.. you will be spending around $15 - $19 for mains.
4 of my friends and I dined last week at a cost of $86 including corkage, mains, entrees and other drinks.
love love love love love this place.
Super good laksa and so cheap! If this is wrong I don't wanna be right.
Surprisingly Lovely. To be honest it isn't the most appealing place to dine, however the food and staff were fantastic. Highly recommend the schezuan beef.. MMmMMmm
Went with a group of friends, lovely staff, amazingly delicious food and very cheap! Would go back again
I love Vietnamese food, and this place has by far the best vermicelli bowls I've ever had. The sliced pork and beef in vine leaf bowls are really great dishes, and only $8.50!! The spring rolls are delicious too, and the pan fried noodles are another good option. My most frequent dinner spot on Brunswick st by a long shot.
Miss Thailand. Food is nice and fresh and very well priced.
Cheap and filling. I tried the tomato rice with crispy chicken! It cost me $9 dollars and I couldn't eat it all :(
Fantastic service and very extensive menu. Definitely will visit again.
VietRose is the best Vietnamese that I've found in Melbourne. Have been here twice this week already & will keep coming back on a regular basis to enjoy the great service, great atmosphere& absolutely divine food! If you haven't checked this place our yet then I highly recommend you try it as you won't be disappointed!
Best on Brunswich. There several choices for Vietnamese food on Brunswick street. Most with much nicer design than Viet Rose. Don't be fooled. Just go here and bask in flavorful delight.
Items Ordered:
1) Hot and Sour Soup
2) Fried Rice
3) Vietnamese Chicken Salad
FOOD = Best Vietnames I've had in OZ thus far..
ROOM = Non-fancy but clean, no-frills, table service but counter service atmosphere.
SERVICE = Prompt, clear and quick
NOISE = Insignificant
RECO = Try your Viet Favs here and taste them at their best
Yum Yum. They do truly awesome veggie soups here! Friendly fast service and it's nice and central. This is one of my regulars.
The best dish is the laksa I buy it often. The rest of the meals I have tried aren't great but the laksa is the best in Melbourne!!!!!
Some things are good, some are bad.. Come here for lunch all the time. Beef cubes are _great_. Really good. Chicken Laksa also very good (very creamy, which I like, some people don't). Lemongrass and chilli chicken pretty average - steer clear of that one!
One of the oldest standing Vietnamese restaurants in Fitzroy. An institution that’s still pumping out great beef pho, lakes and spring rolls with nice alfresco option at the front to soak in the Brunswick St vibe and people watching. Being on the west side of the street it gets shade in the afternoon which is handy on a hot summer day and a nice spot to sip a cold beer with dinner and watch the world go by 👍 🍻
Been a customer for many many years. Food is amazing. A little pricey these days, so don't go has much as i used too 💕
