Review Aegean Greek Restaurant - Fitzroy

This time around can't fault the place. New years eve here was a memorable one, staff and owner was obliging, food delishious, fresh and plenty of. Dancing is always a must for me when it comes to Greek tavern type establishments and entertainment was right on!

Great venue! I was there for a friend's birthday dinner. Food was great, atmosphere to match

Had our Christmas work function here. Wonderful large venue with attentive staff. Long tables. Dancefloor and live music. Plate smashing! Buy some plates and celebrate by 'smashing' them on the dancefloor. The desserts are delicious and food authentic. Great atmosphere and can't wait to visit again.

Amazing atmosphere, serve and the food ( some of my friends found it too salty though).

Kudos! A great open place with outdoor/open space for smokers. Great food and service too. Closed a little early on a Saturday night for my liking but I loved dancing on a generously sized dance floor.

I organised a dinner at the Aegean to celebrate my Dad's 70th birthday and it was fantastic! The food was fresh, tasted good and heaps of it! The staff were attentive & helpful, the band and belly dancer were really entertaining and organising the whole thing was painless thanks to Helen who handled our booking. Will definitely be back for more!

Four of us had dinner on Saturday night. Entertainment was enjoyable, there was a belly dancer and a 2 piece band. We were seated at the dance floor level. Food was very tasty, but unlike other times, we were disappointed with the portions served. For four adults, we would have expected more. I did have to ask for more Greek sweet which was delivered. The waiter was friendly, however, food servings were coming out way too quickly. The next serving came out before we even finished the previous. Please pace out the delivery of food a little better. Overall an enjoyable night.

This would have to be one of the best Greek Restaurants that i have visited. As soon as i walked in the atmosphere was great. The waiter was friendly and took us to our table immediately. The food was of a high standard and plenty of it. The two piece band played a good variety of music and the belly dancer provided great entertainment. The manager and staff were very efficient and were able to meet our needs on a busy night. Over all great food was excellent and reasonably priced. Will definitely recommend to others. I rate it 10 out of 10 !

Atmosphere was amazing! Greek dancing, plate smashing! But the food was just ok. Not bad but not amazing.. staff were nice. Worth going for a group outing, really fun

Came here for New Years Eve party , very large venue. We had the set menu banquet on the night , good food and plenty of it. We will come back and try the other menu options.

Had an amazing night, food was great, entertainment was excellent, was a shame we had to leave (10.30pm) before the plate smashing. Wish they'd done that a little earlier, but all in all a fun night!

Ive actually been here many times and never had any issues. Its just lovely!  The band was not too loud so we could still chat. Food is always really tasty here!

Don't bother even trying to make a booking with this unprofessional mob. I tried calling them on a number of occasions and their phone diverted to a mobile saying 'this mobile is switched off'... no option to leave a message what so ever. I then tried emailing the address on their hopeless website asking them to contact me about a booking; never heard back. Not sure how they're operating a business but they really have no business trying to! Appauled.

Great place for a party!!!'. The food is plentiful and of a good standard. Everyone is there to have a good time and for $55 including drinks it's great value. The entertainment makes the night. And the hosts are more than accommodating for any reasonable request. People who bag this place can go and pay double elsewhere for what they are looking for.<br/>I recommend for any occasion.

Birthday and pre mothers day night. I would like to start my review with the discussed of other reviews that l have read, l cant understand what people expect, its not fine dinning but the food was excellent and the service was great. I found the host of the night Helen to be very inviting and gave her all for her customers tonight, the entertainment was average and they even had a belly dancer who was exceptional. I am not sure what others expect for a banquet at $45.00 per head, but for a group of 15 of us we had a ball and l would highly recommend the venue and would most definitely go there again. thanking the staff and Helen most of all for a wonderful evening.

We went there with a group of friends for a bırthday party and we are not goıng there agaın. The servıce was so slow, food was dry, seafood smelled bad. Last they obvıously used the same knıfe to cut onıons and fruıts as all fruıts tasted lıke an onıon. Sorry

Went there with a group of friends. the food was dried, the service was poor, we had to go to the bar again and again to ask for water. it was hot that day but aircon was broken.<br/>We paid 40 dollars each, the dance show was good, but considering everything else, its not worth it.<br/>Not going back :( sorry!

Good night out. I have no idea why the reviews here are so bad! We did the $45 deal which was incredible. Really good service, pretty good food and a very entertaining band and belly dancer. They didn't charge us corkage which was amazing and were very accommodating for out vege friend. Had a great time.

Let's Go Greek. Visited the Aegean for the first time this weekend and was initially surprised with the size of the venue. It was misleading from the street view. It was definetly big enough to host a wedding! It was exactly what I was looking for to give my family a greek night out experience. The service was great, the food was authentic, delicious and plenty of it and the entertainment spot on! If you love greek food and dancing along with genuine friendly service then you will enjoy The Aegean! Thanks Helen for a great night.

Discussing, never again! Pull your socks up Aegean and go and eat at the Greek Spot in Hawthorn that's Greek food not the rubbish you served to me last night! Also it's not the 80's-90's anymore so clear out your brown furniture and carpet and update your restaurant.

Sunday Private Function. We attended a family christening last night and we had a lovely time. The staff were friendly, we had more than enough to eat and the band played the best variety of songs. We were all very happy

A Perfect Night. Organised my husbands 40th birthday here last Sat. I was really happy with everything. Was a full house but comfortable. We had a table of 22 near the dance floor which was perfect. Plenty of food - the fish was particularly nice. Dips and dolmathes were lovely and you could tell they were home made. Band played both Greek and English which was good as i had non Greeks in our group. My friends love dancing so Im glad we came here!

My daughter and I went to The Aegean to see the Fawlty Towers show. We had the vegetarian meal which was excellent in all respects. The service was also excellent. I can't work out why some previous reviews were so critical. Some people just like to complain. Everything about the food and the service was well above average.... Perhaps not quite at The Hilton Silver Service level but still a most enjoyable evening with great food.

Great Experience & Great Food!. We went to the Faulty Towers on Tuesday and had a fantastic time. The vegetarian dish that my friend ordered was amazing! The rest of us scraped our plates clean. I was so impressed that i thought i would share with everyone. Will definitely be back again!

Sorry to say, all the negative reviews are true! Read, believe and run (as fast as you can!)

WORST restaurant I've EVER eaten at!!<br/>Food was disgusting, service was just as bad. I have no idea how this place is still running. Don't waste your money here!

LEFT A BAD TASTE IN MY MOUTH!! Terrible terrible!! Went there on a voucher deal and looked like they booked out the place for a 21st and chucked a couple of tables in just to make some more cash. Very uncomfortable situation especially when the band called out the fact thy we weren't with the rest of the party, the food was very below average and not impressed that we had to wait for each course to come out when the guests of the party got served as a result left without our dessert and got cornered by the waiters as we were trying to leave asking us why we were going so early!?! As I recall we are the paying customers. NEVER AGAIN

Worst restaurant ever. Food is horrible, service is shocking, atmosphere is outdated. Would never go again, I can't believe how their still in business.

Fun and good service. We celebrated my sister's birthday and had a fun night. The food was very nice, probably the best seafood we have had in a while. My husband loved the home baked bread and saganaki. Atmosphere was fun with live music and dancing. The service was very friendly and welcoming. Main meal took some time to arrive but we didn't mind as we grazed on the entres. Overall everyone had a fun night and nice food. Will return on next celebration.

Enjoyed the 'Faulty Towers Experience' so I don't know if the orders were wrong & slow as part of the show or usual practice

Treated Like Second Class Citizens. I went here on the weekend for a hens night and I was less than impressed.<br/><br/>The tables are squashed together so tightly that it makes it hard for not only the guests, but the waiters to move around.<br/><br/>We were the only group that wasn't a greek family celebrating a birthday, and because of that, we got noticibly different service. <br/><br/>We had no serviettes on our table when we sat down. When this was raised with the waiter, he practically threw some at us about 5 minutes later.<br/><br/>The bread was close to stale, the dips and antipasto were clearly out of a tub from Coles and we had to constantly wave to get our jugs of water refilled. <br/><br/>After waiting an hour an a half to get our main course, the meat and seafood platters, they came out lukewarm and I was too scared to eat anything other than the stone cold potatoes. <br/><br/>The bellydancing didn't save the night for me either, if anything it made it worse, as the music became so loud we couldn't even hear ourselves think, let alone have a conversation.<br/><br/>This is definitely a place I would avoid at all costs. Very disappointing and overpriced for such terrible service and horrible food.

Cheerful noisy atmosphere & good food. We had a great time but it was very full-on. Big Fat Greek Wedding at full steam ahead. Friendly staff, very rushed keeping everybody happy. Good Greek food. Atmosphere more cheerful than intimate. Not one for a quiet evening of conversation.Would be great for a social club outing or other big-group event. Child-friendly.
