DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!!!!!! Reported to consumer affairs as i see they love to try scam Australians. I ordered at 11:30pm after work one night, delivery was for 12am, 1 hour later after multiple failed calls I messaged on here and the clown said it will be 20 mins, 3am I gave up waiting after he then ignored me, disgusting customer service and if you look on Facebook it's not the first time they have scammed hard working Australians 0 out of 5

Amazing customer service, the food tastes, looks and smell amazing. Overall was very impressed and satisfied with my meal and the fashion in which my order was taken and served to me. 5 star rating, I definitely would recommend.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!! Disgusting customer service!! Order did not arrive, yet marked delivered on Menulog. No calls answered at the time. Rang the next night and was hung up on the first time. And dismissed the second time.

The customer service here is something else. Just because you are dealing with a lot of drunk people late at night and you are very busy, doesnt mean you can treat your customers like dirt and they wont remember a thing. Two bad experiences with same older lady. Once she yelled at a friend of mine after he pointed out that she'd charged his bank card twice. Then last night on a separate occasion she attempted to overcharge me, not sure if on purpose because the mistake was quite an obvious one and i merely tried to repeat the order to check if we had understood each other and when i pointed out the prices of each item adding it up, she got defensive and cut me off mid sentence and rudely told me to go home and make the food myself if i didnt like the price because she doesnt have time for this. (making hostile hand gestures). I was flabergasted at the sheer rudeness. You guys have lost a long time loyal customer who always brings their friends to your rstaurant. 😥

Pathetic thieves. Stole my money and never delivered the food, like they have done to many other victims.

My wife and i visit Souvlaki King quite often these days and the boys do an awesome job . I used to go to another place in south yarra but found the lamb meat too fatty , but that was my younger days . Very friendly and the owner is one top bloke . Keep up the good work fellas. Love the food .

Food was delivered over 30minutes late. I had screenshots and images of food when it had arrived and Souvlaki King rejected Menulog from requesting a refund when the quality was poor, cold and not to mention very small.<br/>Will never be ordering from here again and if I was anyone else thinking of ordering from here I strongly advice not to.

We drove all the way to find it has closed down despite there being no indication online that the establishment is closed. It was extremely disappointing as the neighbouring restaurant confirmed it had been closed down for nearly 5 weeks and they still have their online delivery website open!

I just really love souvlaki king. I go every time in Melbourne. Sometimes I'll just go at 1 in the morning even if I've already eaten dinner. Only downside is that if you go when it's not as busy they're not turning the meat over as quickly and it can get overcooked and dry and the size has varied wildly but even the smallest souv was big enough.

Nothing special, lamb meat was old, dry, sitting on the hot plate and not tender.  The souvo didn't hit the spot, was bland and the garlic sauce wasn't nice.  I will give 1 point for nice customer service tho.  Not in a hurry to try it again.

I used to frequent Souvlaki King on a weekly basis. There was nothing like finishing up a shift at the Perseverance hotel, then strolling down to the 'King for a bite before catching the night rider bus home...<br/><br/>Ah the good old days.<br/><br/>Perhaps that's why I am so disappointed now. Maybe my memory is clouded by fond reminiscences from twenty years ago, but the food here has dropped a notch I think. What used to be juicy lamb straight from the spit with lemon and garlic, wrapped in charred pita and served up hot and fresh and gob smacking brilliant has become lamb, cut from the spit to be smashed into smaller bits on a hot plate, relatively tasteless, and combined with a weak garlic sauce and fresh lettuce, onion and tomato.<br/><br/>It lacks the punch it needs, or that I remember it having before. The charred crunch of crust on bits of the lamb, the undercurrent of lemon and oregano and salt.<br/><br/>It was... It was ordinary. Perhaps it is just me, or my faulty memory. I was hoping for something 'extra'<br/><br/>No longer worth the travel for a hit.

I would recommend Souvlaki King to anyone who has the late night munchies. The place manages to maintain a good standard of cleanliness despite usually being busy. <br/>As well as any of the souvlakis, I would recommend the dim sims to anyone who decide to give it a try.

Nothing special. For a late night drunken eat it's good. The souvlaki was very ordinary but will definitely hit the spot when you're stumbling down Brunswick st in the early hours of the morning.

A night out in Brunswick Street wouldn't be the same without a quick visit to the souvlaki King! I have eaten here on numerous occasions both sober and also after a few. They consistently offer the best souvlaki in Melbourne. Apart from fresh salads it all comes down to the quality of the meat. It's the main event and this place always puts on a show!<br/><br/><br/>

Another night to explore Fitzroy -- where has become so trendy recently . Even a 'snobbish' South Yarra dweller is intrigued to come to this side to take a look. <br/><br/>I had a good experience with this little souvlaki place . Here 3am on a late Friday night out. This place is packed with people just finished clubbing and here for a feed. The cashier has a beautiful smile and the chef works so hard and skilfully behind the counter . Three big skewers of lamb rolling above the burning charcoal . What an amazing view ! <br/><br/>The taste of the souvlaki is amazing , plenty of real meat and garlic sauce , lol <br/><br/>They also have three interesting unusual souvlaki-- hangover souvlaki, Aussie souvlaki and greekisland souvlaki. Well worth trying .

If your a foodie you probably won't like this place. I'll stick to Jimmy Grants for a souvlaki in future.

Fantastic souva. Order the lamb with extra meat. You won't be disappointed.

Unfortunately very disappointing souvlaki , the bread isn't even toasted hardly any sauce and you could tell the meat was more then a dy old it was so brittle and tough , one of the worst souvlaki I have had ,

Highly recomended. I had a souvlaki for lunch today and it was magnificent. Perfectly cooked lamb, fresh ingredients. The place was clean inside and working area behind the counter was clean. I highly recommend people check the place out. I will be back when in Brunswick St in future.

Disappointed. I specifically requested whether they have pineapple before ordering my kebab and they said yes definitely. As I watched my kebab be made they did not have pineapple and tried to hide it from me. When I got home to eat my kebab there was no pineapple. Very deceiving

Gone down hill. What crap. The quality and quantity of meat served has gone down, fast. And zero response when I pointed this out. The place two doors down is so much better.<br/><br/>No longer the souvlaki king. Crap job, guys.

Best Souvlaki. Really authentic souvlaki. The lamb was really juicy and had a great flavour as it is slowly cooked over hot charcoal. I went to this place after reading a review by Matt Preston and it did not disappoint. It is a good size serving and it comes with fresh lettuce and tomato. They have photos of lots of famous people on the wall. Must TRY!! EXCELLENT SERVICE great souvlaki!

Solid! A good serving of ga.... Solid!<br/>A good serving of garlic sauce, lettuce and tomato (although a few more slices would have been nice).

Top 3 souvlaki for Melbourne!. Really good, virtually perfect. Probably equal best with Orexi.

Nowhere is better. Whether it's late at night or whether the sun is shining, Souva King hits the spot. Simply fantastic Souva's with great and varied options.<br/><br/>The staff are FANTASTIC. They're always keen for a chat & they'll make you laugh!

LOYAL TO THE KING!. The only place to grab your souvlaki from. My favorite is the Lamb souvlaki, the meat is soooo tasty! Dont waste your money on the other souvlaki joints on brunswick street, souvlaki king is where it's at.

Better than Bar. I've been to both Souvlaki King and Souvlaki Bar, and I have to say that the souvlakia is juicier and tastier at King.

Love it, wish I lived closer, salivating thinking about the fab chicken souv. Best ever!

Awful. If you're after a kebab, try next door at Souvlaki Bar.
Brute
Tasteless meat, bread under cooked, average garlic sauce, felt a bit sick, only positive got 30C off. Do your self a favour and go next door too the " Real Greek Souvlaki" ...cheers!!
