Review Tasty Rooster Charcoal Chicken - Fitzroy

Fitzroy Forager
Really enjoyed the charcoal chicken burger, and have had their charcoal chicken before and it’s really well done - tender and full of flavour. The fried chicken wasn’t as good, pretty ordinary in comparison.

This was delicious. Great selection of drinks. Recommended by the guy next door. Good price too.

We have ordered 10+ group work lunches from Tasty Rooster. It has become our go to as we have never had a bad experience. Staff are efficient, friendly, and helpful in recommending how much to order for the size of our group. Chips are always perfectly salted.

Can't beat the price with the top quality of chicken. The kitchen itself very clean and the guy was very friendly. I really enjoyed their freshly fried chips

If one is on the search for fresh, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, golden sticks of the humble "apple of the earth" - this is the place. You'll be blasted back to your childhood when any fries you can get your hands on tasted amazing. I'm glad this place bothers to do them so well.

The chicken pieces, charcoal or fried generally tastes as good as it looks.

Side note: I don't know what got into me one time, but the seafood salad was an instant regretful purchase. Serves me right though I guess.

I bought a charcoal chicken, it was amazing... like, really amazing. The fried chicken was okay... but the roast rules the roost.
Go here, buy one.
Nothing else to be said.

We decided to short walk and my son choose this Charcoal Chicken place on Sat quick lunch.

The double/triple size bigger than other local cafe's and very large sad seating area required good renovation.
The next door look much funcy to walk in but my son insisted to eat here.

Oh, actually not bad at all! Tasty chips are very hot and using chicken salt.
Crispy crumbles and no joking, it was real tender delicious juicy chicken that way better than the places on my list of any Charcoal Chicken shops.

The customer service was quiet only mother & son family stayle but nice people☆
They let my son to wash his chicken oily hands at staff sink while I was confusing their bathrooms at rear. They have so many locked doors with female staff only, male staff only, female but out of order (whaaat?!)
then male bathrooms upstairs

Based on the dish will be 5☆ and I definitely will order again.
Performing a few miracles when I’m in desperate and urgent need of something fried at an hour that’s sometimes late, Tasty Rooster Charcoal Chicken is the local for something quick, cheap and meaty. It’s a no frills affair with an extensive menu offering including rotisserie chicken, fried chicken, souvlakis (!), burgers, sandwiches and other fried options. I’ve popped in for the fried chicken and at $7.90 for two pieces and a healthy serving of chips, it’s easy on the wallet too. Chips were cooked to order making for fresh from the fryer crunchiness but the last few visits had the chicken on the formerly warm side of things, which was a dampener on the fun.

If you are looking for some hot chips with chicken salt - this should be your go to place. Freshly made to order, make sure you ask for extra chicken salt! The fried chicken is also good!

Places like this are what make Australia great. Jenny has lived overseas in many places and experienced the longing for the chicken shop. What luck that the house Jenny finds to live in is around Tasty Rooster. The name is misleading. Tasty Rooster? It should be called Delicious Rooster. Smoky, charcoally chicken with those translucent just-fried fries. Fried chicken is also as good as you'll get anywhere. Not greasy. Not too salty. A whole lot of crunchy.

Also, FYI, Jenny eats here 3 times a week, knows what she's on about, and also gets A LOT OF comments on her physique.
Delicious fried chicken, v v v juicy and succulent. The bling King game is great, adds a nice ambience to the place. Coca Cola tasted exceptionally good.

This is place is fantastic the chicken is freshly cooked and the chips is fabulous. I don't know what the secret ingredient for the juicy chicken and crispy chips are but its worth dying for !! The customer service is lovely and is unique as the owner always cares for your well being. The meals are affordable and with little to no time your mouth is gonna satisfied and begging for more. In conclusion this fast food joint is cheap, fresh and most of all welcoming!!

This place is absolutely amazing, I go here with my mates casually, the customer service is perfect a few flaws here and there but one of the best take away joint I have ever visited. The food here is exceptionally amazing and the quality of it is great. Not only that the owner usually have small talks with the customers and this is what really brings me here.

Sometimes I just want a good plate of quarter chicken and chips, smothered in gravy. Being one of the only charcoal chicken joints in the neighborhood, I naturally went to try it out. Chips were freshly cooked and really great, gravy was good too, just the chicken felt like it has been sitting there for a while (only slightly warm and also a little dry). I guess with not so many customers, you can't always expect chicken fresh off the rotisserie. For $7.50 I definitely had my cravings satisfied though!
