Review The Laundry - Fitzroy

10/10 music. Have loved coming here. Drinks are priced really well and they even have tap beer which I was surprised about for a club. This is probably my go-to for a night out. Although, having the option for freedom of movement between upstairs and downstairs would be something that would be good

Disrespectful security out the front. My friend and I simply asked the security guard if we needed to get cash out for entry and he replied with “yes, but I can’t do anything for your friend” and pointed at her face. And continued to say that they don’t let anyone in, who is intoxicated. My friend was completely fine and kept making it out to be like she was “too drunk” to be let in. He continued to gaslight us by saying he was looking out for us. I can now see why the other reviews have also complained about the security staff. Disappointing to see that nothing has changed when there is clearly an issue, will not be attending ever again.

Incredible venue. Staff are great. Special shout out to Jesse who was really helpful setting me up with their state of the art DJ gear for the RMIT AND Deakin cheer and dance afterparty! Cheers DJ Dekdrum :)

Went to this venue to see 2 amazing aspiring Aussie artists fresh from Vic. Vaye.k and dooz.au The place was rocking, melbourne vibes, real rhymes and a proper atmos. Thanks heaps I started by spotifying both of these emerging artists!

One of the best clubs in Melbourne/ Fitzroy; great food, drinks and service. Would recommend for anyone trying to have a enjoyable night out.

My partner was cornered and mugged by the bouncer at this venue. Management did not follow up or take action against this bouncer. Please do not support this venue if they do not support the well being of their patrons.

Terrible security staff who aren’t transparent for the reason for denied entry. Attempted to enter the club with my friends and we were all behaving appropriately. However, once we got to the front of the line the staff member brought his emotions into his role. After being given my friends ID, the staff was rude without using words to explain what he wanted us to do. When we were confused as to whether he wanted us to pose for identification check, that led to removal from the line. Following this, I walked up to this staff member who said “do you want to get kicked out like him?”. Based off that anyone can tell that he had no intention of letting us in. When you’re wanting people to visit your location, having someone working the door is a bad idea. For anyone thinking of visiting on a Saturday @ 11:30pm make sure you’re with a group of girls, and pray the bald guy isn’t upset after failing when hitting on patrons. Maybe be in charge of safety rather than trying to seduce barely legal women.

Do not go here!!!! Not a place to go, I went with a gf paid $20 entry and there was only a few people inside. When we walked out and asked for a refund because we weren’t staying we were refused and the person at the front was rude saying what could they do

Laundry has been going for what feels like forever. While the venue always seems to be more about the specific club nights than an actual relaxing bar you want to talk to people at, it's a good venue. There is a big focus on up and coming local DJ's and hip hop which is fantastic. The nights they run are usually pretty fun and the venue is quite large (across two floors) so there's room to move. I suggest checking their website or social media channels to see what's going on and pick a night that suits your music tastes.

Have a distant memory of a time some friends dragged me here, when this place first opened and there was barely a scene.
Now, this bar's evolved into a laid back club venue for the younger demographic to get their boogie on.
There are cheap cocktail jugs, labelled with relative names to the '90's hip hop/r&b jams for which the 'dj's' have a preference for queuing up on their playlists.
The jugs seem to be composed of mainly ice and sugar, with a dash of alcohol but are only $15 before 10.30 everyday.
Draws quite a crowd.

I came here with some friends, though not sure why as it's not my type of place. Take this review lightly as I'm not much of a clubbing person.
The place itself wasn't the worst, looked right for the vibe it was trying to express.
The music was defiantly very loud, but apparently there are some good artists there, so that's a plus.
Pretty sure it's a drinks only place, but that's given.
I can't really say too much, but if you want a place with hip hop and are already a little drunk then you might enjoy it :)
