Pizza is one of the best we've had in Sydney! Made fresh, with delicious toppings and crispy base. Staff are lovely too, will definitely keep coming back!
Love coming to this place! Food and staff are amazing š
I used to come to this place in the 80s and thereās a reason itās been packed for decades, the food is elbows-on-the-table, no pretensions and seriously delicious! We started with a pizza and the stuffed zucchini flowers, so good. I had the penne Siciliana with super soft eggplant and a generous quality of tiny meatballs and was in heaven. Finished off by sharing a marscapone (which I prefer to tiramisu). The service wasnāt as warm as I remembered, but to be fair there were only 2 handling a packed room. Canāt wait to go back again!
Lovely little Italian place buzzing and busy! The food is simple and tasty!!! Great value and just delicious! I would highly recommend it and Iām definitely a return customer!!!
Um... why have we only heard about this restaurant in 2018?! Just .. wow. It's clearly a winner with the locals with a busy stream of regulars dining in and getting take out. Do not judge this restaurant by its location (by the way, loads of parking on the side street) as it looks to literally be 'in the middle of no where'.Ā
There is an old school charm about this restaurant from the bottles hanging above our heads to the wooden tables and coffee/bar area. It belts out authentic and delicious pizza and pasta. Wine menu has both italian wines and local Australian and very affordable prices (wine by the glass for mostly less than $10).
The penne granchio and the four cheese pizza... YUM so much so we were fighting for the last bits. As was the baby octopus we had for our entree. So stuffed we couldn't even look at the dessert menu. Can't wait to be back.
šgreat! I ordered Caesar Salad, linguine and tartufata pizza š.
Caesar salad, great! My favourite salad didnāt disappoint me. The pizza, truffle salami with rockets, try this highly recommend! Linguine is not bad, but I thought linguine should be flat noddles but this one is more like spaghetti š.
Authentic Italian cuisine !
It was a really happy time with my friend, sherry.
A stalwart of the Five Dock dining scene, Filicudi must be doing something right because it is one of those restaurants that is busy every night.
A cosy atmosphere is created with chianti bottles suspended from the ceiling and hanging picture frames of Italian scenery. The menu is typical in that you'll find pasta, pizza and main courses, and a specials board. Food service is fairly quick so a good option for a casual, mid-week meal.
Literally the loudest restaurant Iāve ever been to. Went in a Wednesday and it was borderline impossible to talk to the person sitting across the table from me. We actually gave up for the last 10 minutes. Other than that it was fantastic. The gnocchi gagu was incredible and the staff were very helpful. The wine selections is pretty decent too.
Itās a shame about the noise because it made it impossible to fully enjoy what could have been a really good night out.
Gnocchi are made with tomatoes sauce and pieces of meat, but I personally prefer ragĆ¹ made with minced meat. By the way the taste was not bad.
I tasted Tortellini boscaiola and they were delicious, I suggest them.
Not sure but the bread looked made with pizza's flour, bit chewy.
The service was ok.
In conclusion I didn't have a bad experience here.
Amazing ambiance, the wood poles and chianti bottles make it so cosy, great food, great service and the limoncello is a perfect finish - we loved it
Amazing food and even better service! Loved the authenticity of the restaurant. Staff were friendly and efficient and always checked up to see if we were okay.
This place is really lovely! We went for a date night recently on a cold Sunday evening.
The seafood marinara was my favourite. It was a massive serve (main size), with lots of fresh seafood and a good kick of chilli. My husband had the parpadelle ragu (was a special) which was also delicious although he did comment that his serve was smaller than mine (luckily eh was able to polish mine off).
The marscapone dessert to end the night was a delight. Lovely and smooth and not too rich after a big meal!Service couldn't be faulted. They were courteous, polite, attentive but didn't both us too much.
It is also BYO!
Lovely atmosphere, great service. We got the spicy octopus entree which had good flavour but the octopus didn't taste very fresh. The crab penne was delicious, so flavoursome and plenty of crab meat. The veal involtini was also great with bursts of roasted cherry tomoatoes. The bailey's creme brulee was quite nice, the pistachio ice-cream was fantastic though.
Consistently good. Chef Maria's cooking is consistently good, and the pizzas from the oven are as well. This restaurant is like one in an Italian village. Families have gathered, the empty wine bottles hang from the ceiling, the wine and conversation flows. And the food is delivered with good humour and unobtrusive service.
LOVE Filicudi - Best Gnocchi Ragu. I have dined at Filicudi on many occasions and also bought take away and the food is just as good "take-away" as it is eaten there.
How could anyone not love the food Filicudi has to offer!
The Gnocchi ragu would have to be the best Gnocchi I have ever eaten, along side their to-die-for Garlic Prawns!!
Dip your bread in the Napolitana Garlic sauce and you certainly won't be disappointed!
On the side with a pizza with olives and pepperoni, you can't go wrong.
Filicudi will always be a favourite of mine, as it never fails to surprise me with rich flavourful food.
Intimate restaurants, with artwork and maps of Italy on the walls and bottles covering the entire ceiling - you will feel like you're Italy!
Weekends get super busy - be sure to make a booking !
Hit and miss.. but mostly hits!. Sometimes the proteins can be overcooked but the pastas here and always tasty... especially the lasagna! best lasagne ever! pepper steak also worth a mention!
One of the best in the inner west. One of my favourites in the inner west. Great traditional Italian food and a lovely warm ambience...the service is also fantastic. Great to settle in with a good bottle of wine.
Very friendly service and quite a cute little place. Mains are a tad small for the price but very tasty and rich. Desserts are a highlight, especially the creme brulee.
Highly recommended!. A great favourite of ours. We eat there regularly & are never disappointed!
The pizzas are yummy as are the pasta & main course dishes. Suggest you try it ~ it's sure to please.
Nice little restaurant, has a very authentic feel. We went on a Tuesday night and was moderately busy. Service was great and food was homely and came out very quickly. Overall good experience, will definitely be going back
Excellent experience at Filicudi. Have lived in the area for years, been meaning to go, and now kicking myself I havenāt been until now. Beautiful food, fresh and delicious. Wonderful service. One of the best pizza bases Iāve had in Sydney (and I eat a lot of pizza!). Homely, family style restaurant. Will definitely be coming back!
The food is well done, good quality and delicious. Pizza is made authentic. Helpful staff. I had a great time for my first dinner there.
Ordered takeaways food due to covid Several times such a joy. The food is amazing as well as dining. My favourite so far. Love their pizza bread and spaghetti marinara and lasagna are the best!
An Italian friend recommended this restaurant as one of his favourites, and he knows his food.
Weāve just been for a third time and I thought I should write a review.
Simple recipes, home-cooked, perfectly done. The sauces are divine. We had the prawns, octopus and chicken breast dishes and they were absolutely superb. Previously weāve had pasta pizza, veal etc. - all top-notch. Itās a real family restaurant the service is quick and friendly, Mum out back running the kitchen and Dad front of house. I guess you donāt have a restaurant running continuously from 1979 till now if you donāt do a lot right. Whatever you do, have the Tiramisu. Best ever, hands down, no contest.
We went for a friends birthday last night, and I have got to say the service and food were terrific! Highly recommend dropping for authentic Italian food!
The pizza was fresh and delicious - I highly recommend the tartufata!
The garlic prawns' sauce was mouthwatering, and it was so tasty that I put it on my pizza!
The steak is a must-have. It was so tender and delicious! It just melts in your mouth, and the portion was huge!
Gnocchi Ragu is my favourite, had it twice here, once came for valentines day dinner too and sadly we were too full too finish that meal but the food is always exceptional, my bf absolutely loved the octopus, friendly staff, exceptional service. Love that they check our double vax too. The best atmosphere will come back again xx
Simple, delicious, unpretentious Italian food with a family feel. BYO and let them show you good old service done right. No fuss, no frills, just good food that does the talking. Definitely book ahead as small restaurant and was full up. Other Italian places take note of good food and service start to finish!

If you're looking for a hidden Italian GEM of a restaurant than look no further.
The location does not justify the restaurant but that's why I called it a GEM.
Excellent Food & Hospitality, a MUST visit & repeat...

The most delicious Italian food I've had for years. Very large serves, freshly made and great service. Loved it and will visit again.
