Review Gyros Fix - Five Dock

Delicious Gyros, tasty, soft bread, good meat portion, yummy fresh vegetables cooked in the shop!! Best I have tried! And very good prices. My boyfriend had the lamb large Gyros without chips. I had the vegetarian regular Gyros. Definitely coming back soon 👌👌

Definitely not as good as it once was. The meat was dry and bland. Its not the worst but it could be better. Chips were great !

Ordered Pork Gyro, bread was super fluffy with perfectly cooked pork and fries

Place was amazing a few years ago, gone down hill big time since then. First thing I noticed was not a Greek in sight - clearly under new management. Ordered a Lamb gyros, and a chicken gyros. Waited 20mins longer than I was told the food would take. Chicken tasted boiled and undercooked, lamb had minimal flavor except the fact it was slathered in sauce. Really really disappointed, the place was great when the previous owners ran it. I don’t know why you would sell your business to let someone else run it into the ground like this.

Bought dinner tonight at daughters request for their feta chips. The non Greek ownership & lack of quality have not had me back for ages, maybe 12 months. I got a regular lamb gyros with chips & feta chips (which I find over priced), the place at 8pm seemed bare and hardly any things out like onions, tomatoes etc, all empty and not busy. We brought home to eat. I hadn’t eaten since toast at 11am today, 1.5 hrs later and I had diahorrea & vomiting, it’s now 12.20am and I am still in & out of the bathroom. I thought the lamb tasted a little old, like mutton, hence I only hate half the gyros, but now I’m regretting the purchase completely. Thanks for the food poisoning!

The lamb gyro is a must try, succulent meat. The fries were top class. The servings are generous. Great location, ample parking right next to the restaurant. . Friendly and approaching staff. Would love to come visit again !

Had the lamb gyro for 13.50. Was great and filling. Reminded me of the month I spent in Greece. Could do with a little more crispy chips and more salad.

Tasty, no nonsense, flavourful Gyros of the finest form. Great location with a car park opposite, and stock a great selection of beverages including cherry cola. This takeaway shop is fine, gritty, authentic and friendly in taking orders. Seating is ample both indoors and out. And the selection of food on the lunch menu is diverse. Well recommended, loved it.

A lot of Greek fast food joints are below parr, these guys have seen what the others lacked and got it right, you may wait an extra 5 minutes comparing to other fast food venues for the effort they put in to give a home cooked touch on the food prepared with an authentic fast food feel, it's hardly a wait and you can have a beer while you're waiting, I'll be a regular!

Well upon seeing the pics this was a must try, after reading some reviews mostly good I said it was worth a try, I've been to many places for yeeros and kebabs this would have to rate among the worst, Meat was dry, bread was hard and defiantly not fresh, and many other reviews mentioned the chips where cold and under cooked I would have to agree, to top it all off the hygiene from staff isn't of the highest standards as I witnessed my self first hand no gloves on one of the guys squeezed a lemon over a customers food then reached into his pocket picked up his phone and responded to what appeared to be a SMS phone back in his pocket and continued working away no gloves and without washing his hands, I always give small business a chance that's was there chance gooooone.......

Great food and friendly staff ,, how da hell can someone rate this this place a 1 star !!!
Natalia Gorkavenko
This the best gyros in Sydney by far ! I am ready to eat it for breakfast lunch and dinner

Just walked out. Ordered the platter for two. With my son. What s joke they served the three meats which were burnt and dry, sprinkled oil to hide the dryness. The haloumi was deep fried not grilled. Worst ever sad to see Greek food served this way. A definite avoid as the serving of this food was for trash only.

Over price for what you get. Lamb was so dry . To pay 15 dollars for lunch and not get chips and a drink i mine as well go to macca's. I dont have to get out of my car.

One of my family's favourite place to eat, beautiful food and great service! We come from 35mins away to eat there!

I use to go there but not now as the meat is so dry and hard to eat....need to get your act together

Great great gyros. Lamb is my fave, kids love the chicken.

Try the Skepasti - GyrosFix is the only place I've ever seen this dish and it is off the hook! Delicious!
Tammy
A quick and satisfying meal that we regularly order when we are in the area. My usual order is the lamb gyros. The chips are good with a sprinkle of paprika salt. There is minimal outdoor and indoor seats, but we've not had issues getting a table. Recommend.
Delicious lamb gyros, tasteless fries, meh location and filthy toilets.
Dominic Svensson
I’m not sure how places differentiate their yeeros meat but the lamb here was distinctly tastier and tenderer that others I’ve had lately. I got the skepasti, a huge sandwich that included roast veges in the enigma version. It could feed two and was my only meal for the day, so the price wasn’t too bad. The chips were the typical soggy Greek kind and the frappe turned out to be the Greek style drink (which I’d never heard of before) made from instant coffee, so that was a disappointment but I’ll still rate this my top gyros place based on the lamb and the lavishness.

The food was very delicious. They kept the place so clean and tidy. Fresh ingredients. Staff were nice and friendly. Overall, great experience.

Only tried it two time but I cant express how delicious and flavoursome the gyros are!!! I enjoy eating them so much. Every bite is just so wonderful, and the sauce with the chips and the meat combined, just creates such a flavoursome powerful punch. It also just gets better with each bite, leaving me wanting more when I get to the end!
A good place to grab a quick bite to eat if you're in the area. Service can be touch and go sometimes- sometimes I'm not charged extra for sauce, sometimes I am.

Be aware that serving sizes are very large !! I usually order a one person platter between two. I love the seasoning on the chips. The meat in the gyros is mouthwateringly juicy with those occasional crispy bits which go perfectly with the chips, secret sauce and salad, app wrapped in pita bread.

family business with simple but amazing food. the thalassa (seafood) is my favourite ... truly delicious. don't expect a lavish decor .. only a couple of tables to eat in but I love this place for the food and service

Putting aside the sub par decor, it made some decent gyros. You’d expect to order lamb whenever at a Greek restaurant, and I did just that. A pita bread played as the vessel for all the filling, it just manages to wrap it all up. Lamb was tough because the tendon or silver skin was not removed. However, the flavour combination was great. The fatty lamb was balanced by the tzatziki sauce and played played an integral role of tying all other elements together.
Kirsty Lei
Friendly and welcoming staff! The gyros are fresh, good portion sizes and full of flavour. Regular and large gyros seemed to be similar size.
V
The gyros here were massive, rethink getting the large size. I could hardly finish it and don’t bother getting hot chips! I didn’t touch them. It was tasty but not the best place for street Greek food.
Andre.W
Deliciously charred meats, chips and salad with a side of tzatziki. Great value and quality at gyros fix, a must try if you're in the area and even worth the drive. Always prefer #gyrosfix if we feel like kebabs as it just tastes so much better. We always get the platter for 2 with chicken and lamb and it's consistently good time and time again.
Sez
The Lamb gyro was bomb, it was tasty and really tender and juicy, the fries where crispy and nicely seasoned, Really big servings and good price
Pankaj Kawatra
Was quite different to the other gyro places.
They had a twist to the traditional gyros.
Its quite isolated location wise.
Try the flat bread gyros.

Went to this restaurant for lunch last weekend. Loved their gyros, easily one of the best in Sydney. The quality of the meat, their sauces and the taste was splendid!
A
More of a little take away store than somewhere you'd enjoy dining in. The food was average, and the meat quality wasn't worth the price but the portion was filling.

I sometimes dream about food. If that makes me weird than so be it. One of the foods I dream about is the lamb gyro from gyro fix. The lamb is juicy and the special sauce makes me weak at the knees.
CJ W
The chicken gyros and thalasa are yummy and make you feel very full. The thalasa is full of veg and seafood. The sauce on both of them are nice and not too creamy. Good Greek restaurant I have ever been. :)
Eatwithmyfoodsafari
Located on Queens Road. The lamb gyros is made with juicy and succulent lamb wrapped inside a soft, round wrap. Perfect quick takeaway meal.

I'd noticed this place a few times when driving through, and finally decided to come here for lunch one day. I was kicking myself for not coming here earlier! We ordered a pork and lamb gyros, and both were absolutely delicious. The meat was cooked perfectly, and the chips and salad inside all complimented eachother nicely. The serving size was very generous, and I could honestly say the last time I had gyros this good was in Greece. I thought I had a favourite gyros place in Sydney, but Gyros fix has taken over as my new favourite.

Delicious! As a vegetarian I find it hard to get a good gyro - this place nails it (without any apprehension or judgement) 😂 my partner and friends will eat lamb all day long. They enjoy sharing plates loaded with meat. I enjoy my vegetarian equivalent, everyone is happy. Even the range of juices & soft drinks are delicious.

Great food. I can never pass up the gyros platter with lamb, chicken and pork but once I get my sixth stamp on the loyalty card I'll be cashing it in for a pork gyro. I love their tzatziki, it is really garlicky.
Thehappymedium
Got the lamb gyros and my meat was a bit fatty and a little on the oily side (but not too much). However, all the other components inside were pretty good. The pita used was a bit too hard and burnt. The chips were fluffy inside and were pretty enjoyable, but lacked basic seasoning.

The restaurant smells a bit strange and the floors are really sticky, which didn't really give me a good first impression.

A good experience, but not great.

I had a nice lunch here, had a good quality Greek-style pork gyros. Very good flavours and chips. Very nice, looking forward to going again soon!

Simple, tasty, reliable and well priced. I drive past this place for years but only recently dropped in. I wish I tried it sooner as they have one of the best Gyros in Sydney. I've tried the lamb and pork with the lamb being the clear winner. I'm looking forward to going again soon.

There is something incredibly satisfying about a gyro, meat full of flavour, chips and the trimmings in a soft flat bread. I am a a bit of a regular at Zeus Greek Street Food and was excited at trying something new at Gyros Fix. The giant Gyro sign with a dancing Gyro wearing a skirt was very welcoming. It's located in an obscure area so I suspect only locals know about this one. There are a few seats inside so I think it's more of a take away joint.

BEST SOUVLAKI IN SYDNEY!!! A true taste of Greece. Best souvlaki I've ever had in Sydney. The food was great and off-course YUM!!! I recommend this place to anyone, myself and my husband have now found a great souvlaki take away shop to visit more often. Their food really reminded us of when we were back at Athens, their souvlaki tasted so much similar to the ones in Greece. Wouldn't want to go to any other souvlaki shops, except this place🌯👌🏼Well done Gyros Fix👍🏼👍🏼.

Imo, this is one of the best gyros places you will find in Sydney. You must try their monstrous gyros sandwiches which are come with tonnes of meat, chippies, special garlic sauce, wrapped in warm pita bread. The Skepasti is also another good choice which comes with tonnes of cheese, meat, chargrilled veggies, toasted in warm pita bread.

Maybe for the dessert if you're not full, you should get the nutella pita bread topped with strawberries and icing sugar😜😜

Easily my favourite gyros place in Sydney. We usually get the shared platter, and although the pork and chicken are nice, the lamb is the business. I'm a big eater and even I think the servings are very generous. The service is always very friendly too.

Craving some form of Mediterranean food, we decided to drop by Gyros Fix in Five Dock and have some Greek food that has long been missed. As soon as we walked inside, our senses were immediately comforted by the most amazing smell of fresh meat and pita bread. Gyros Fix has chicken, lamb and pork gyros’ (a pita bread wrap with meat, tomato, onion, tzatziki and chips) available, alongside some other Greek foods. In the end, we realised we came to Gyros Fix for one reason, and therefore we ordered a chicken and a lamb gyros.

My partner and I are both huge gyro fans and we've been checking out all the gyro places around Sydney. There are a handful of places around Sydney who do a fantastic tasting gyro, but all are either small portions or stingy fillings. Gyros Fix do really tasty gyros, AND they're big. Seriously big. The large naturally costs a little more but I like that you have a choice. Jam packed with a LOT of meat, not much veggies and a fantastic and strong tzatziki. Would love to see a little more veggies to cut through all that meat, but this is hands down the best gyro we've come across so far. And despite being a die hard lamb freak, I actually preferred the pork this time. It's delicious. Though the lamb was pretty tasty too. Can't wait to return.

Came here to get our gyros fix on a Saturday afternoon. This is a small take-away style place with some seating indoors and some on the footpath. We ordered a skepasti - essentially like a pizza but with 2 layers of bread, and a mix of gyros. The skepasti is definitely worth trying, the other gyros didn't stand out as anything that special and could use a bit more sauce. Overall, good cheap eat that will keep you full for hours

Sydney is no stranger to the humble kebab but in recent years we have seen a surge of their bigger, badder cousins the Greek Gyros and boy are we ready! From their soft and fluffy pita bread, which is lightly toasted til warm, to the inclusion of chunky cut chips, this is your new go-to late night 'snack'.

Each gyros is served with tomato, onion, tzatziki, chips, your choice of meats (pork, lamb or chicken) and a drizzle of their 'special sauce' which is the absolute bomb! I may or may not have asked for an extra tub to dip a side of chips in. Completely necessary!

Gyros Fix also has a range of Skepasti which are more or less giant pita burgers. Incredibly moreish and not for the faint hearted. The same can be said about the 3 types of meat platter. Unfortunately I was not a fan of the chargrill souvlaki which was fairly dry and does take 25mins to cook.

The lamb here is by far the most popular and rightly so as it is succulent and tasty. Occasionally the meats do come out a little on the dry side but the flavours will bring you back time and time again.

Decor is strangely hipster with wine barrels and wooden cheese boards. Service is polite and prices are reasonable. Having tried majority of their menu, the lamb gyros is definitely the one to order. You're welcome Sydney.

DEE-LISH-SHOUS. One of the best gyros I've had so far. Much better than Zeus Greek in Drummoyne. The chips in the chicken gyros I had was seasoned do well and that special sauce is named quite aptly. Loved the food. Will come back for sure.

Without a doubt this is one of the best Gyros Shop in Sydney. Always fresh, fast and very friendly. I love the Lamb Gyros, so tender and juicy. Rare to have fresh cut chips these days and it's always a pleasure going here and indulging in the chips.

How I've longed for a decent Gyros place close to home... and Gyros Fix has come to the calling. It was a Sunday night when I rocked up and the place was packed with customers silently dining.... which in other words indicates that the food is so good, there's no time to talk....

I opted for their Lamb Gyros with tomato, onion, tzatziki and chips wrapped in a pita bread. The sauce... the quality of lamb... and even their chips... ahh it was just that good. I can't even string sentences to describe how happy I was... there were definite moments of pure appreciation as I demolished my gyros...

My wife chose the chicken gyros (essentially the same as mine except with chicken)... but the chicken had some drier hard bits which made is slightly less plesant to eat. Though overall still a fantastic gyros...

Every time we decide to do dessert and there's a Nutella option... my wife insists on trying it.... and that's exactly what happen. To finish off we got their Nutella on Pita Bread. They went for the strawberries instead of banana as the additional fruit pairing. With nothing but chocolate and a smile on my wife's face... she wolfed this down with delight.

For parking, you can borrow the gym's parking across the road or there's some street parking down the side. It's usually not too difficult at night as there's not much going on in the area.

Personally for me... a great lunch would be a gyros here and then a short walk across the road for some Papas Patisserie for dessert.

This place definitely gets two thumbs from me.. their gyros is delicious and the service is fantastic.... what more can you ask for. I can't wait for a return visit.

Food was delicious and the service was amazing. We had the pork and chicken gyros and it was as good as being back in Greece. High recommend Gyros Fix. You wont be disappointed!

Gyros Fix is a family-run business that serves traditional gyros and what they refer to as Greece's ˜best kept secret", Skepasti. Sitting on a corner of busy Queens Road in the Inner West, it's relatively new to Sydney's Gyros scene and serves fresh, no-frills Greek food at its best. As the name suggests, Gyros is the ultimate go-to menu item.

After having seen other instagrammers visit this place .. It was mandatory I go see what was on offer. I smashed down a one person meat platter like there was no tomorrow. The meat was very tender and the tzatziki was deliciously garlicky and creamy. Go ASAP.

Delicious. Hard to find great service these days, but every time I eat here they happily accommodate my fussy order. The food is amazing and the shop looks fantastic!

Amazing food! We got a lamb gyros, a chicken enigma skepasti and s Greek salad and I swear we didn't even look up to take a breath! It's like a milk bar style set up with tables to eat in so fairly casual but pretty set up.
Defo worth a visit. The special sauce is to die for!!

Very good, will be a regular now.. Very very good.. The only part of this lunch that was"fast" food was the speed it came out at. We all went for the Gyros, some Lamb and some Chicken, Obviously a home made marinade on the lamb and the chicken (marinated for 2 days according to the owner) - both cooked perfectly, twice cooked chips and a great fresh salad with a proper homemade dressing. Had a rice pudding to share and that was another proper homemade success.
Clean and tasty, very good value. Even my toddler ate his custom Skepasti!

Going back for sure.
