Review Nield Park Pavilion - Five Dock

Great place, with amazing views. The coffee is delicious. Great for a meeting. A push to the service would make this place fabulous.

My wife and I come regularly to this cafe . We enjoy the great service, the varied choice of menu, and the pleasing view of the bay. It is the perfect place for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. The owners and waiters are always pleasant and make you feel welcome. They treat each customer as a valued guest. These are the many reasons that Nield Park Pavilion is our favourite cafe.

I come here every now and again for some food and it’s always good food. I was here the other day and the food was great. I had the Caesar salad and it was delicious and unlike most places they don’t give you an enormous portion so it’s actually enjoyable. The wagyu burger was delicious and same with the eggplant rolliniti?? Service was also good, they attended in the right amount of time :) This place has a great view so if you want lunch with a nice view, I recommend coming here :)

I went to this place long ago and liked the veal that I ordered. The view is great and food is delicious!

I have been coming to Nield Park Pavilion since I moved to the area as I live around the corner. They’re often rude but I usually just ignore it. I am part of a Mum’s group and we meet weekly. We called ahead yesterday to book an area with us and our prams, requesting to be at the back of the cafe out of the way. Unfortunately the staff were behaving as if we were the hugest burden, and we were told to ‘keep it down’ by the owner. Interesting response to a big group who are all buying food and coffee and are being just as loud as many other tables. Average food and coffee, many other better places in the area. I get it, I don’t usually write reviews and I have worked in hospitality, but this was ridiculous.

Right on the tip of Rodd Point looking out through Iron Cove Bay, this cafe just off the soccer field is busy and a little oasis for a carefree pitstop or meet up with friends. Coffee and cakes are great here but also a decent selection of breakfast menu items and drinks on offer. Enjoyable brunch with great and attentive service, with a layback atmosphere.

A lovely open cafe with lots of space for prams and plenty of high chairs, making it a perfect spot for mums with bubs. The steak sandwich with fries was excellent. i finished every last crumb as the proportion of bread, steak, cheese and salad was just perfect.

Exceptional service, the owners are friendly and always cheerful. The food is always of good standard. My kids love eating at Nield Park Pavilion because they know it’s park time after dine time. Our go to place

Was placed at table and told that breakfast was finished and lunch not started so we could have coffee or fruit on a Sunday morning. Rude waitress with eye rolls.
Julie
Average food and coffee. No "wow" but no complain either. A good place to go after morning jog/walk

Decent food, quick service and great atmosphere. Would definitely come back for a quick brunch or a big breakfast.

This is a handy spot to have a bite to eat after you have done the bay walk. Good menu - lots to choose from. Friendly staff and great spot for families. #brunchinsydney

A nice cafe with a wide variety of great food at non-exorbitant prices. I had the fish 'n' chips, another had a chicken burger and others still had salads.<br/><br/>Only the lack of airconditioning or powerful fans on a very humid day let this place down.

Great spot for brunch on a sunny winter day. Good variety on the menu. Friendly service. <br/>Mussels with tomato. <br/>Seafood risotto. <br/>Steak sandwich.

I always come here after a walk around the bay or just for a relaxing day with family. They are so friendly and everyone know everyone so it's very relaxed but at the same time, good quality. DEFINETLEY recommend if your ever about or wondering where to go for a meal or coffee during the day :)

Really ordinary, would only eat here in absolute emergency ordinary menu ordinary food staff aren't flexible at all computer says no attitude

This place is really casual and it’s outdoor vibe really captures the beautiful summery days. The food was nice, pretty ordinary and we waited a very long time to get it! For toast and granola :/ . the staff are nice . Would maybe go again for coffee but maybe not for breakfast

Dropped by for lunch on recommendation from a friend. Great atmosphere located along the Bay Run. The service is great and the menu is quite reasonable priced for where it is. I wasn't really expecting much as i ordered a boring salad but it was a good combination of ingredients which worked well together and had tasty dressing which made it enjoyable. The add on chicken could be a bit bigger for value.

If you visit near closing time, all coffees are served in takeaway cups so bring your own reusable cup and do your bit for the environment. Situated opposite the Bay Run with views across the water to the city, this is an idyllic location to enjoy a meal, or just a coffee.

<br/>I went to Nield Park Pavillion with a friend today for lunch. It was busy, but not totally packed. <br/>We were served our drinks within the first 5 minutes or so, and my friend had her entree of bruscetta (which was disappointing at $14 for a small piece of bread with a few bits of tomato and mozzarella). We ordered our mains at 1:30pm, and were still waiting for them at 2pm. We weren't advised it would take so long for our food to come out. We ended up leaving due to the fact that we wouldn't actually have enough time to eat it there and we were pretty annoyed it took so long. When we went to cancel our order we found out that mine wasn't even ready yet (my friends was going to come out shortly). <br/>The only good thing is the banana and mango smoothie I had was really nice.<br/>Overall though, it was a poor experience.

We had a great lunch here after doing the bay run, bugers and coffee were great the price is very reasonable service was fantastic and a great view.

Came across this place by sheer accident and looked promising with a very beautiful view of the harbour and city in the distance.<br/><br/>Service was very quick and friendly from sitting to taking our order and finally delivering to the table.<br/><br/>Food was good and did the trick and a father reasonable price

Very comfortable and refreshing place to visit. \the staff are always friendly and the service is good. Breakfast to myself and my wife is spectacular whereas the rest can be a little hit and miss. Nevertheless will be back

Beautiful view and very friendly staff. The good experience stopped there. Ordered the steak both of them way overcooked, fatty and full of sinew. Was meant to come with garlic mash but came with over roasted potato. The herb bread and the mushrooms with the steak were the only good part of the meal. For $75, two soft drinks steak that I could hardly cut through and herb bread we came away hungry and very disappointed.

The place is set at a beautiful location. Plenty of shade and a nice breeze from water. The view is stunning and people watching is always fun.<br/>We arrived here and waited only a short time to be seated. Menus came quickly and our order was taken well within reasonable waiting times.<br/>The menu itself is perfect for egg lovers. Pretty much everything has egg in it or on it. For me this makes breakfast harder than it already is.<br/>Staff are not as friendly as they could be, or simply don't have the leadership to handle a rush.<br/>Overall I found the place acceptable value for money, the food could be improved simply by using some fresh herbs, or salt. Staff need to be inspired or perhaps reminded that a smile goes along way.<br/>$45 for 2 seems a reasonable expense for Valentine's Day but we won't return.

Ignored at front door. Finally seated then ignored by 3 staff for 10 mins all serving tables next to us. Went to counter. Ignored by a million staff. Finally got hold of a waitress who could bring us a menu and some water. Inches from walking out. Noisy. Flies. Not coming back. Still waiting for food. Dont care if its the best food ever. Should have walked.

We waited 1/2 hour for a take away bacon and egg roll they then gave it to the wrong person who was there for 5 minutes. They kept saying they were short staffed. The place is not for me but some people swear by it. I live around the corner other locals have indicated they have had the same experience 😞 shame it's a great outlook / I did have breakfast there twice before the service was fair and the food was ok.<br/>

I came her today with my daughter for lunch and had such a wonderful experience!! We were seated across from the bay, the wait staff were attentive and friendly and the food was delicious!! I had the fish of the day and it was definitely restaurant quality. Will be returning ASAP!

I had lunch here with my sister, and wow what a treat this was ! the sun was out and you can look out on the water while enjoying a fresh juice or hot coffee. We ordered figs with prosciutto, soft shell crab and a grilled chicken and avocado salad, the food was delicious and fresh, the crab plentiful, the figs sweet and covered in a balsamic glaze that made you go YUM ! So pleased to have this experience and will be going back this summer !

Overpriced. This had been a favourite with us & other locals. Prices have gone up recently & quality has gone down! We waited to be seated as the sign said, were ignored by staff who didn't seem to be busy, so we seated ourselves which they commented on & didn't like. There are many good cafes around drummoyne, so we won't be frequenting.

Situated adjacent to a playground and an oval, Nield Park Pavillion is the perfect place to enjoy breakfast or lunch with all the family. There is plenty of room for prams, mothers groups and active toddlers.

The cake cabinet is also full of decadent treats for adults but my dining companion and I decided to order off their breakfast menu. I've always thought that banana bread is the perfect mid morning snack and at Nield Park Pavilion they serve it with a mix of marscapone and ricotta and after having that smeared on top of the bread I don't think I could ever revert back to butter! Just to let you know the banana bread cost $10.00 which is a wee bit on the expensive side in my opinion. Interestingly the rest of the breakfast menu wasn't too badly priced with the most expensive item (the full breakfast) being $18.00. Eggs on toast (my friend's choice) was $10.00 and it came with a side of roasted tomato. Some other yummy sounding choices are the Potato Pancake with Smoked Salmon ($17) or Eggs alla Sicilia & Chorizo ($15)

Will we go again? Yes definitely, only for the food and view. Definitely worth a try again.<br/>

Great service, Fantastic food!. We turned up on a busy Sunday morning with 10 adults and 4 kids- they were flat out and we were greeted with smiles as a table big enough was organised..Great breakfast menu, kids were looked after with their own menu and work sheet to keep busy. Our waiter was so attentive and made sure everyone was looked after..cannot fault food, service or pricing- will definitely be back!!!!

A cafe that wants to charge restaurant prices. Seems very popular, its opposite the street of the Canada Bay walk and nothing surrounding it.<br/>Been here twice, had the pasta and the rissotto, and garlic bread. The menu seems to keep changing.<br/>What i had was ok, portion size a little small but prices were pretty expensive, especially for what you get<br/>Service is ok, food on one occasion took 20-30 mins to come out<br/>This place is not for me, but it must be doing something right when you see how many people go there, even on a weekday

Lunch here today with four others. Service was excellent- lovely informative friendly waitress.<br/>Food was excellent . Couldn't fault it.

A little disappointed.. Just a little disappointed when asked to leave after 55mins, having ordered Breakfast and coffee. There were 2 of us and a few empty tables. .??? Not sure why. It's nice to catch up with a friend without being harassed to leave. Didn't 1 hr was too much to ask for.

Muffins. Disappointing :( 'mixed berry muffin' turned out to be only blueberry. Service also disappointing :( brusque and not friendly.

Poor service and dry chicken burger!. I went to Neild Park Pavilion with a large group a few days ago. We arrived at 12.30 and already some of the dishes were sold out. We waited for half an hour before our orders were taken and then it was another hour before some of the food arrived. Not all of the orders arrived at the same time with dishes coming out over a period of 15 minutes and my my chicken burger, when it did arrive, was overcooked and dry. I won't be going back in a hurry.
I HEART FOOD
Great food on the bay. Food with a view! Stopped for coffee today which was amazing and then did the bay run. Back for lunch and we shared entrees of the soufflé and gnocchi which was to die for! We also shared the smoked eye fillet and tuna nicoise. Service was very helpful and attentive. Would definitely recommend it and will be returning!<br/><br/><br/>-----15 Sep, 2014-----<br/><br/>Neild Park Pavillion. The place is great! Great service and amazing food. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be returning!!

Ceaser salad today had maybe 4 cos lettuce leaves all the ugly outer green bits. Very disappointed with this. Paid over $20 for this salad with chicken. Coffee and service was good but pricy so I expect quality

Ordinary.... Waited way too long for a very ordinary take away coffee. Whilst the waitress was apologetic about the extended wait (too many coffee orders at one time...go figure), the barista spent more time making fresh juices rather than filling the backlog of coffee orders.

Very ordinary management practices..... Went for breakfast this morning and had a pleasant meal. But i did remember not to leave a tip in the bill. Gave money tip directly to waiter instead. This is because the management do not share the tips among the staff but keep it for themselves.I was given this info by an employee.

Management needs to learn what customer service is. I live in the area and have been to this cafe a few times but have decided that enough is enough. The gentleman that owns this cafe walks around with a such a attitude which actually turns you off your meal. Food and coffee is average, great location but really needs to improve their customer service....

Beautiful risotto. I ordered the saffron risotto special and it was delicious. There was an abundance of seafood that was cooked to perfection. My husbands prawn risotto was also delightful. The service was fast and friendly. The view is relaxing. Will go back!

Not impressed as charged for broken glass. What should have been a lovely lunch with my husband and the kids ended with a negative feeling. My son dropped and broke a glass, yes accidents do happen and we apologised immediately. It looked like a $1 Ikea glass for which they charged us $4. Very shocked as this has never happened to us. Cafes also have insurance for this sort of thing. Will not go back.

Badly managed service - food but no coffees arrived at all. Went here this morning for the big breakfast for three of us. View is nice and food was ok.<br/>Coffee order taken first then a bit later food. Food came out - was ok however all condiments were missing (butter / sauce) and not offered.<br/>Halfway through food and still no coffees... Asked the waiter. He said it was coming.... 10 mins later still no coffee... Asked again. Finished our food and again asked after coffees to be told its coming and they are busy because of the take away coffee orders....from the bay walkers. We were there for 1 hour approx. still no coffees. The staff were nice but not helpful as we spoke to 3 different staff each time and no one took responsibility for our table and service.<br/>All in all food was over 50 bucks and no coffees. They already had our business with the food and seemed more concerned with the take away coffee orders. When I went up to pay, the staff member said 'I've taken the coffees off you'... I replied 'how can you take something off us we never had'<br/>After that I won't go back not even for a take away coffee.

Pleasant Sunday Brunch. My first visit to Nield Park Pavillion, although I've lived in the area for over 28 years.<br/>A glorious autumn Sunday morning, warm sunshine, light zephyrs and sparkling water - what more could one ask for?<br/>The food was delish and the service friendly and efficient.<br/>The only thing that marred my visit were the thoughtless owners who had tethered their dog IN THE SUN while they enjoyed themselves in the shade. All the other dogs had been left in the shade, all the people on the grass were in the shade, save for this one poor little dog who was naturally enough, panting madly. He had water, but the sun was quite hot and he should have not been left there. Shame on you, dog owners! <br/>Next time, try and be a little more considerate of your faithful pooch.
