Review The Taste Of Village - Five Dock

After seeing the positive reviews on Google, I decided to try out this fairly new restaurant in Five Dock. We were not disappointed whatsoever with very friendly service, great recommendations and delicious food. We had what were like spiced corn fritters, lamb tikka and their village chicken curry special with sides. Couldn't fault it ! It was also very reasonably priced and sizable quantities. Can definitely recommend!

Pleasantly surprised by this new restaurant. Nice surroundings and friendly service. More importantly the food was very tasty. Had the tandoori chicken, savory pancake, beef curry naan bread and various dips. All excellent. BYO not a problem or choose from their wines, cocktails or beers. All in all a pretty nice time.

As an Indian used to Indian food on a regular basis, I have to say the food here was exceptional. I particularly recommend the Nilgiri chicken. Aneesh, who I later found was one of the owners, looked after us well and had some wonderful stories from India. Enjoyed the experience so much that we decided to order ahead in bulk for a function we're having soon. Thanks again Aneesh for the memorable lunch outing.

Great food, service and atmosphere. Friendly staff. Only mark down was that we ordered a dessert with pistachio ice cream (specifically for that reason) and they brought it out without the icecream and told us they had none left. Would be nice to have had the option to say no to the dessert if it isn't what we asked for. Besides that though will definitely be back.

Probably the worst Indian food my boyfriend and I have ever tried, and we have tried A LOT of Indian food + lived in India for 3 years. We ordered butter chicken and a chicken korma with 4 naan's, 3 cheese and 1 garlic. The curries just tasted like cream- non traditional and the cheese in the naan was low quality and excessive. Food is overpriced for the quality of it. I'm confused as to how this place has high reviews.

The Taste of Village was the venue for a 25th Anniversary celebration – and I couldn’t have asked for more! A special thank you to Vinod and his team who were very accommodating in terms of menu, pricing, room set-up and fantastic service on the day. The food was delicious and generous: flavoursome vegetarian dishes and the meat of the non-vegetarian dishes was succulent. Overall, everyone enjoyed themselves!

I had organised a function with around 60 people, we had the food tasting before the actual function, and when the function came the food was as good as the tasting we did.on the whole the food was good, the environment was good, in fact the whole restaurant was blocked for us and all my friends enjoyed the food and service. I would recommend for people to visit and taste the food, as it was different from other Indian restaurant

We are vegetarian and so much choice. Food was yum. We had 4 entrees, dahl and naan. The naan was the best we had ever had and every dish was fantastic. They spaced the food out well so we weren't trying to rush it down. Incredibly full and meat free!
