Review Lab Kitchen - Five Dock

Great coffee place with good vibe and super helpful & friendly staff. Looks small from the outside, but there’s plenty of room. It even has a small playground if you go with kids! Extended trading hours makes it very convenient as well. Pro tip: tap water is fresh and a hint of lemon juice. Loved it.

We always get food here mostly for delivery, chef has amazing work, hats off to him, hence we normally get takeaway. First, the cafe order has to be done upfront which is quite weird knowing that their counter is up at the exit and literally same to the entrance of the cafe, it removes the feeling of a “dine-in” experience not having to get someone to take your order in your table. Second, the staff there for some reason seem to he very panicky, they look distressed all the time, as if they are so agitated having to deal with so much customers at a time, even when the place is not busy, some of the staff seem to be running constantly and just having that unpleasant look in their face, really wish they could smile more to make us diners at ease and more comfortable. Lastly, I just really wish they had enough wait staff, it just really seems like a promising place but with that much shortage of staff and incorrect orders being given, it kinda sucks to be a customer that dines in. Overall, I would not be too cruel in giving them below 3-Stars because the food here is always amazing. Also, love the Matcha Latte and Belgium Chocolate Mocha, it’s always so great. Just service is abysmal, and we’ve been here numerous times hoping and wishing it would improve.

Nice little “cottage” cafe. I ordered the protein bowl with chicken. The chicken was cooked perfectly and was tasty. The service system probably needs working on though. I had observed the waiters taking orders to the wrong tables more than three times - one even came to me with a coffee order. Other than that, nice little spot for brunch.

The staff were genuinely warm and the atmosphere was relaxing: with jazz music, outdoor greenery and respectable patrons (it has a kids play area so could be noisy at times, but it was quiet at the time of the visit). Food was nutritious and tasty. I really enjoyed my tea - simple choice but surprisingly good quality with a gentle flavour that developed well.

Good place to go if you have young children as the outdoor play area keeps them occupied. Coffee ( Campos) is great but the food and service ordinary. Went for breakfast - eggs rubbery, burgers with plastic cheese. No cereals or fruit on the menu. Had to clear our own table after waiting 45 minutes. Wouldn't go again for breakfast. Not value for money and not up to standard of other cafes that offer breakfast.

We had a lovely time at this cafe yesterday. The staff were endlessly attentive to our needs, and did not rush us out the door, like other cafes. Their play area out the back is ideal for young kids, and their attention to detail when serving sweets was creative and artfully fun.

Staff are very friendly and polite, I really enjoy eating here. Incredible poke bowls with fresh and delicious ingredients, there’s so much more.I am pretty sure it is healthy. Good value and quick service.Their Korean fried chicken is also super tasty.Strongly recommend this place!!

Have been here several times and cant go past the big breakfast. The eggs are poached to perfection which many overcook and all the sides are delicious but too many to include in the review. They say big breakfast and they mean it so be hungry or share. Only thing i dont like is the plate. It is board shaped and flat so can go over the side due to amount of food! My husband has the scrambled egg wrap with tomato relish and loves it, my daughter the beef burger. They even ask how you would like the burger cooked. The chips are crunchy and soft in the middle. All food items are of a high quality no oily fatty cuts of meat. Coffee is also nice. Staff are super friendly. Think they should advertise food more as we originally thought they only do coffee juices and cakes.

A great all day breakfast menu will endear me to any cafe, and The Lab Kitchen offers a good range of dishes to satisfy even the fussiest of eaters. They also offer a generous half litre beaker of iced taro latte.
