Review Lau's Restuarant - Five Dock

Good old fashioned Aussie Chinese restaurant. This is also known as 'Baysia Restaurant' within the Canada Bay Club. Really friendly and attentive waiters. Went on christmas eve and it wasn't too busy and from the time we ordered to the time we received our food had to be about 3 minutes! Ordered Sizzling Mongolian Lamb, Satay Combination and Honey BBQ Pork in Plum Sauce. Everything was delicious and portions very large. Prices very reasonable. Our new Chinese local!

I have been a customer of this restaurant for over a decade with my family. It has consistently been one of our favourite Chinese restaurants. Their dishes are consistent and constantly delicious. The move the restaurant made a few years ago has made the atmosphere more cosy an intimate. The people who run the restaurant have always been so friendly and I love the wide selection. I recommend the fried rice, combination omelette, and honey prawns. It is usually not too busy but even when it is, it is quiet enough that it is not much of a disturbance. Quite a nice and upmarket place to bring guests / family members who might be staying with you.

Love all sorts of Asian food this was just what I was yearning for. Fresh and Chinese.

Very bland. This food is just the most ordinary food. Poorly seasoned, excessive liquids in chow mein, cheek to charge $2 for crispy noodles. Over-priced - $17 for a combo short soup, with dumplings heavy on the noodle and minimum filling. Overall, poor value

Love this place. Great for families. The service is fantastic. Friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere and the food is lovely. Can’t wait to go back 😍

never ever again called to express our disappointment in the quality and was told separate franchise to the club? who cares you should make customer happy regardless ordered special fried rice was terribly nothing at all special about it other than the price also sweet and sour pork was all batter! BEWARE

Food didnt match ingredients that were ordered... Pork bites were 90% gristle and bone, and polystyrene was found amongst the vegetables ordered (delivered in plastic containers so wasnt from the delivery boxes) Expensive lesson on where not to order from again.

Visited this place many times for various occasions and am ecstatic that there has been a change in hands behind the Brasserie! I was about to give up on coming to this place until I found out that the caterers changed hands. The food used to be very poorly presented and staff inattentive and rude. At the Brasserie now with the change of hands the food is fantastic, freshly cooked to order and service is amazing! Cannot wait to return and try everything on the new menu! Definitely worth coming down for the drive and enjoying a meal here.

I was at Canada Bay Club a couple of nights ago for a dance party but a group of us had dinner beforehand. I had salmon which was absolutely delicious. The food was ready reasonably quickly & the drink waiter delivered my drink in a blink of an eye. The venue is gorgeous & the staff are all really nice. Love going there every week for my weekly Ceroc dance class where I also have an awesome roast dinner for only just over $10. I highly recommend this venue.

We used to eat here all the time but since the new change of management have only eaten here twice. As a meat lover, I always looked forward to the 700g T-bone steak but that is no longer on the menu. We tried a couple of times other dishes but I found that the new chef does not match the previous one. I also needed to get something else to satisfy my needs. We have now found the chef and his staff at Tigers Five Dock and have sworn never to eat at Canada Bay Club again. NEVER come between a man and his T-Bone steak.

Was there yesterday with a group and we all had the $12.50 Senior group lunch - main course and ice cream. I had the chicken schnitzel with chips and salad. Lovely. Nicely cooked, plenty of chips and a good sized meal. Others had a roast or fish and chips and everyone was happy. Staff were lovely from Rhys at the front door who was cheerful and helpful to bistro staff who Brough our meals and bar staff who brought us water and glasses. I’d go back again.

This is our go to club for New Years Eve,always have the best time.Food,drinks and the best entertainment from Tommy in the auditorium.We have also enjoyed the Chinese and bistro but agree the seating downstairs is definitely too small and coffee a little pricey.Will be seeing you this year!

What a beautiful club, atmosphere outstanding from the time we came to the entrance staff went above and beyond to make us welcome. Signing in was no trouble great customer service. Restaurant was the best I've had in a long time, we all had a wonderful night. Most definately would recommend your club to anyone and we will be back we all had a wonderful night thank you to all the staff for making our night a memorable one..

Disappointing. We were there for a function and the choice for the main was turkey or park. I asked the waiter what he had given me and he said beef!??? Also the entree I was given was supposed to have prawns on the sliced tomato. No prawns... The beef was accompanied by heaps of little potatoes and no other veges. Nothing green in sight. I won't be returning .

If I could give no stars I would. Worst Chinese I have actually ever eaten. It tasted like a Maggi sauce pack just dumped in every dish. The best part of our meal was the bowl of soy sauce with fresh chilli in it.

The food was crap, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone even got free! I'm allergic to pork and asked for some cheese and the reply was.....did you ask for a special diet???? Not acceptable!!!!�

(Rating based on ground floor restaurant) Would not recommend to anyone that I know. The queue was too long. My chips were served cold, the Wagyu burger, had no flavour. However, overall, the club looks very modern...

Enjoyed a nice family dinner here, the food was fabulous and would recommend the garlic prawns to try it was delicious, accompanied by lovely staff. Thankyou!

Ordered John Dory and was disappointed with the serving so small not worth the money spent, chips tasted stale and only a bit of salad (a few leaves)

It was the perfect place to get out of the heat. We went for lunch & it was delicious. The specials of Lamb Mousaka & the swordfish were excellent & very tasty & the pistachio gelato was a perfect way to end the meal. The staff were extremely pleasant & efficient. The parking is great as my parents find it difficult to walk long distances. It would have been even better if there was something more to entertain us other than pokes & sports on TV. We headed off to the movies. We will be back again as it was well worth our visit. Thank you Canada Bay Club.

Haven't been there for awhile but went for Chinese yesterday it had improved since the last time but still not as nice as it used to be. Had the bistro meal a while ago which I found nice but have heard a lot of bad comments from friends. I find the staff nice

I booked for my birthday for 25 people...Yulia who looked after the booking and the food I ordered was fantastic.The staff and atmosphere was great.The food was yummo and so much of it.
