Review Pho Hung Vuong Saigon - Footscray

Easy five star review. Best chicken pho I had in ages. Chef did a pretty good job, cooked that meal to perfection!
Mel Well (Mel_share)
Best pho I’ve ever had, broth is so savoury. Raw beef is just the right tenderness, sliced beef tripe is chewy, and the black pepper beef ball is very special with the heat of black pepper. Will visit again for sure.

Ordered 2 small pho (1 chicken, 1 beef). For $14, it’s quite a big portion, don’t think I could of finished a medium. Noodles were top notch fresh & translucent in texture, loved every bite. The chicken pho had a strong chicken broth flavour, was superb. The beef pho was a big stronger in possibly msg but still very nice. I would recommend not to order soy milk, which I thought would be home made but came in a bottle. Intensely sugary and worse part, palm oil is listed as an ingredient which I don’t understand, why oil is needed for a beverage! Free hot tea is provided on the table with paper cups. Can order ice for 50c. Bonus: clean toilets

We came here following recommendations from local friends. Very busy, fast turnovers. A/C and relatively clean! Simple menu in English, Vietnamese and Chinese. We got the Special Beef Combo pho. The bean sprouts were looking a bit sad and brown, but broth was clean, herbaceous and savoury. Tendons were tender and beef balls were flavourful. Free tea is served in flasks.

Authentic pho, with really great portions for the price! Be spoilt for choice too with the different combinations they had on the menu. I took a long time to decide and settled on the Sliced beef and chicken. Fried spring rolls were delicious too. Great comfort food.

Food was good but horrifyingly covid doesn’t seems to exist in this place. The capacity limit saids 20 people but there was roughly over 50 people. Customers were asked to share table, and or sitting way too close than what we are supposed to be.

I haven’t had a good time in this restaurant on Monday arvo. Despite the foods which taste was ok, the environment was disappointed. They were playing really loud Vietnamese Rap song. Not even we couldn’t chill out and enjoy our meal, we were rushing to finish it and leave soon. At the end I told the guy that is not suitable at all to listen/play Rap song while people dining in. Thanks

This is a great cheap Footscray eating place for those that love Pho. Pleasant staff... quick service and the food it good quality. Highly recommend if you are looking for a quick cheap eat. They do close earlyish so check that if you are later in the evening.

No frills when you walk in, just amazing Pho.

This is my favourite spot when it comes to Pho and I really like how they are very consistent.

This place is usually busy most days and I would usually go in early to beat the que.

The pho here is really good, from the noodles to the broth and the beef balls everything is spot on.

The service here is fast and efficient and is perfect when you're wanting a quick meal.

Delicious pho with quick service and affordable price tag. Always come here whenever I am in the area

Ordered sliced beef, beef ball and tripe pho bowl. They have options of small, medium and large. I opted small bowl which was very generous amount. Broth was clean and tasty.

Will I be back ? Yeah

This spot has been a family favourite since my childhood but I hadn’t been for ages as it’s always super packed and can build up a line. The prawn spring rolls are some of the best in Melbourne and the grilled pork with broken rice is in my top 3 faves.

This is our go to place for a good ol’ comfort food. Probably one of the best pho we’ve had in Melbourne. Their vermicelli is also super flavourful and the spring rolls are crunchy and just the way yummy fried foods are meant to taste.

Terrible place! 99% sure they gave us a day old pork chop - could barely cut through it with a knife and fork. We had luggage with us so they may have thought we were tourists. They disregarded all our special requests (well 2 things). Really disappointing.

3.5
Used to be my favourite place for pho, until I got food poisoning around 5 years ago but have finally come back! Quality is great. And the food is delicious.
However, staff were very abrupt as expected in these kinds of restaurants but more than that, I didn't find them very attentive.
Before we even had a chance to look at our menu (1 minute in) they asked if we had decided, I said no, and the staff left before another one came only a few seconds later. After we hurried to choose, we ending up spending ages trying to flag down staff. Then the staff ending up getting the order wrong anyway. It is understandable although I wish they were more polite about it and I will definitely come back again. But the experience just made me feel like I was being rushed constantly.

Traditional Vietnamese Pho. Extremely tasty. Portions are big, even the small one was enough for me. Service is very efficient and quick. Great value for money

One of the best Pho restaurants in Melbourne, period. You know this is the case because it is always busy and full of Vietnamese locals. Now here is a tip when visiting a restaurant of most ethnic cuisines- if those of nativity are visiting it, you won't be disappointed.

The pho here can best be described as homely, authentic and made with attention to flavour. The beef combination I had tasted like home in all the right ways. A huge proportion of noodles, with a good quantity of tender, fresh meat. The chicken pho was equal in stature. We also opted for some iced tea and a Langan drink (fruit in a drink) for the ultimate refreshing and cool down after a delicious, hearty meal.

Really recommend the pho here and it will always be one of our favorites, reminding us of true, homely pho.

Food: 4/5
Service: 3/5
Ambience: 3.5/5
Value: 4/5

Overall: 4/5

ordered the rare beef pho & pork chop on broken rice. the pho noodles was silky smooth, beef was not bad, the broth was really tasty - somewhat too tasty that left a msg thirsty taste in the mouth.

the broken rice was surprisingly good. the pork was well cooked and tender.

would give a 3.5. 3 is probably too harsh. but the over tasty msg feeling in the mouth after couldn’t bring it up to 4 stars.

Busy place, noisy and crowded, could only mean it's a popular place. Serving is fast and staff are very attentive, it feels like you need to eat fast so other eager customers can take your sit. Good Pho, cheap eats and great avocado smoothie.

The only place me and my family go to for Pho!
Very fast service! Very clean restaurant! Favourite thing about the restaurant is crushed ice in a glass is served when a can of drink is ordered 👍🏽
Anne
Always super quick service and delicious.
Tried the sliced beef pho, serving sizes are very generous - the small is massive! Broth delicious.
Tried prawn spring rolls and veggie spring rolls, both nice, veggie were just ok - could have a little bit more flavour.
Cheap, quick, no fuss and delicious .. I’ll return again and again
Great flavours and generous servings! Easy quick fast service. The pho was amazing however not hot enough I feel... broken rice and pork was a huge standout - so delicious!

Sensational pho and best I’ve tried in Melbourne, Sliced beef and beef balls was spot on; most importantly the broth was flavoursome and natural. Vastly superior to many other offerings in this city. The spring rolls also were fantastic; for a casual lunch on a work day, this is worth a short trip up to Footscray from the CBD - cash only, so don’t forget that 🙂
Marseille
Love their Pho, fast service. Always the same quality every time that we visit, location is close to Footscray Train Station. Reasonably price Menu. Highly recommend.
Kris L
Hands down the best pho in town! Delicious broth, silky noodles, generous meats and portions - what else can you ask for! Their menu also include spring rolls, rice paper rolls and rice vermicelli if you want to add variety to your meal. I also recommend their jackfruit or avocado smoothie!
Tasteforyourbuds
Can’t go wrong with a bowl of pho. Honestly it’s cheap simple and easy!!! Their speciality is the pickled onion that goes with the soup, no where else has this besides them. Plus their chilli oil is bomb !! So good

My rating: 3.5

On a cold and wet Saturday evening, my friend had craving for Pho and suggested we go to Footscray. To be honest, I have not been to Footscray to eat in over 10 years so I was quite excited to check out Vietnamese food there as I often eat in Richmond if I wanted authentic Vietnamese food fix.
We decided to try Pho Hung Vuong Saigon has it was highly rated on Zomato.

🔆LOCATION🔆
Pho Hung Vuong Saigon is located on Barkley street (main street in Footscray) next to the massive Thao Nuguyen Parmacy on the corner of Leeds Street. Plenty of parking on Barkley street and side streets. We were very lucky to find parking right next to the restaurant.

🔆SERVICE🔆
On a Saturday night at around 7pm, the restaurant was full house. There was a queue almost out the door. However, it seems the turnover is quick (customers dont really stay long), the queue moved fast and we only waited about 6 minutes for a table.

Once seated, we were given tea and menu. The waiters are very fast and efficient. Every few minutes we had a different waiter ask if we're ready to order. We felt a little rushed but we kind of knew what we wanted.

🔆MENU/PRICE🔆

Their menu is very simple ( 1 page) and only serve main type of Vietnamese food that is typically popular in Australia.
Rice Paper Rolls (3 types), Spring Rolls ( 3 types), Rice dish ( 2 types), Rice Vermicelli ( 4 types), Pho Noodle Soup (13 types), drinks (19 types).

Looking at the menu it does look like their popular/main dish is the Pho. They have 3 different sizes:

Pho (Noodle Soup)
Small $12.00
Medium $13.00
Large $15.00

Vietnamese Spring Rolls (Pork, Prawn or Vegetarian)
6 rolls $9.00
8 rolls $10.00
10 rolls $11.00

We ordered:
2 x medium Sliced Beef
Pho, $13 each
6 x Prawn Spring Rolls, $9.00

2 x Avocado Smoothie, $5.00 each

🔆VERDICT🔆

The Beef Pho was very average. I am unsure as to why there is such high ratings for the Pho. The broth was very heavy, way too heavy and sweet and not typical Southern Vietnamese style soup base for Pho.We asked for extra lemon to try and balance out the flavour but it didnt work. The slices of beef were thin and tender and thats what I enjoyed most out of the Pho. The medium size was more than enough. I guess we both had high expectations, but was a bit let down.

For the Spring Rolls they were nice and crunchy but we couldnt really taste any of the prawns or prawn flavour. Perhaps it has been minced up too much? Its a shame.

The star of our night while dining here was the Avocado Smoothie. Simply delicious. Can really taste and enjoy the avocado flavour, and it was just the right texture and consistency! Yum!
Emily
Nothing beats this pho, ever. The broth was soooo rich, the meat was freakin tender and all you need just combine all meats, vegetables and lemon and you’re good to go!!
Alan Tse
Prices have gone up since the days when you could get pho for less than a tenner! However they do all the usual dishes, and it’s good that they do different sizes of the entrees to help portion control. Service is quick.... the BBH is the best I’ve had anywhere in Melbourne.
Iliketoeat
Some of the best Pho in Melbourne... but definitely the best in Footscray! It's always busy but the food is never late and very delicious. Staff are friendly.

We loved 😍
This place has the best pho in Footscray!
The serving sizes are very generous and the service is super quick.
This is a great easy winter dish if you’re not looking to spend too much. The bun bo hue is also good but does not taste as authentic as “Dong Ba” which is just accross the road.

We disliked 😖
Nothing really 🤷🏻‍♀️
ThE MOiStMaKeR
This is the BEST pho place in all of Melbourne in my opinion. I went here all the time as a kid and even have memories of coming here as a toddler. This was my parents' go-to pho takeaway place and we've also dined in a good number of times. This is seriously a Footscray gem and I'm so glad they're still open after so many years!
Levina
Absolutely the best pho restaurant in the West of Melbourne. My go-to place for a quick winter warmer, or a pre-flight light meal, or just whenever I feel like I could use a little warm broth to lift up my mood, which is almost always.

I love the beef pho, with coriander on the side. Squeeze in extra lemon juice and put Vietnamese mint in. Perfect!
Tiffany Yapp
Amazing viet food! Only place I go to in Footscray. Recommend their bun cha (dry vermicelli with spring rolls) or their pho! Super quick service: eat your food and go so someone else can eat
Eat_today_diet_tomorrow
One of our favourite places to enjoy amazing bowls of pho. The soup is so good and left us wanting for more. The beef and beef balls pho is my usual go to dish. Pair the pho with some spring rolls and the perfect meal would be complete.

It’s been a long time since I’ve came for pho here and I can say that not much has changed! Service is still extremely fast and it’s bustling with customers. They now have a physical menu for the table, instead of just looking at the wall to order.

The pho is still very tasty as always! I got the small sliced beef & beef ball pho which didn’t look like much but actually filled me up. It was my first time trying the beef balls and they were really nice! The sliced beef was rare and tender. Their 3 colour drink is also the best version that I’ve had, and I never come without getting it!
Sunny Days Melbourne
Our Footscray food odyssey continues. We were looking forward to trying the Vietnamese food here which shared (almost) the same name with our all time favourite pho in Springvale.

It was filled to the brim with customers and there was a line of hungry patrons that was almost out the door. The environment was noisy and chaotic. We were squished in with other customers on a small table. I suppose this was all part of the experience.

The beef pho was not as flavoursome as its Springvale counterpart. The soup was not as clean but the quantity was substantial. The broken rice was quite mundane. The pork chop was dry and lacked any lemongrass flavour.

Overall it was not a terrible experience so it's 4 stars.

One of the places we go for our regular Pho fix and damn, they good!
Every time we go they are super prompt, receiving our order within minutes and it’s always finger licking good.
Highly recommend!
Mary Grace Hargreaves
The girl who served us is so rude and shouted at me when i helped her to put the dish on our table.. Thats not the right thing to treat customer.

The food is not that fantastic just average compared from other restaurant here in footscray.. We wont be back from the nasty experience we had!

A bit of a mixed experience with our visit to Pho Hung Vuong Saigon over in Footscray. Great prices and the pho was excellent. But the grilled pork on rice was rather bad. It’s a small piece and so dry and inedible. So all good if you stick to the noodle soup, don’t try and be too adventurous here.
The Casual Diner
Will come back for:
+ Chicken combination pho
+ Beef combination pho
+ Pork spring roll

This was and still is one of my favourite pho places in Footscray. The broth of the pho is rich and tasty. The pho smooth, and the servings generously sized. We always have our combination beef and chicken and love all the offal pieces that gets mixed in with the beef and chicken slices. There is also a generous accompaniment of herbs to go with the pho. The spring roll is crunchy, fresh and delicious. We also had the avocado juice (I like mine with a touch of chocolate syrup swirl through), that was thick and satisfying. Service is always super fast, and price really affordable for what you get.
Bear Noms
We got the dry chicken vermicelli which was delicious and came with a decent portion of meat. The spicy beef soup was average and we probably wouldn’t get that again. The pork spring rolls were good! Would definitely be back again

This is a crazy busy place, but its understandable as its very good value for money. I go here often.

Service 4
Staff are nice and generally do their best to serve you quickly

Environment 3
Packed in back to back so often bumping others and they do put you on group tables where your eating with strangers.

Flavour 4
They do a great chicken pho and the other menu items are good, the prawn springrolls are good, you eat them in lettuce with a chilli sauce, surprisingly good.

Value for money 5
A large pho is only $15 and its massive, i would pay you if you can finish it within 5 minutes, they do a great $4 ice coffee too.

I really like this place, despite its being busy and hard to move around.

See, i am not always negative haha
Anson
The must stopover place every time when I travelled to the western suburb. In my opinion It served the best pho in town. The soup is so clear and tasty that im sure everyone will like and service is efficient but not super friendly but I guess this is the norm for this type of restaurant. Highly recommend. Best pho in Melbourne period
Jessie Tran
The pho here would please the western tongue but not the asians. The soup base is not beefy enough. It’s way to sweet to be called pho. It’s not the worst but I’ve had far better. “Pho Chu the” down the street is a much better place!
Cindy Tran
A highly rated Vietnamese restaurant in Footscray where both tourist and locals visit for their pho fix.

Ordered:
Combination pho (M) $12
Bun bo hue (hue style beef noodle soup) $12
Mung bean smoothie $4

Review:
Personally I like the Hue style noodles better, they tend to have more umami flavour and much more condiments than the famous pho. But Pho Hung Voung doesn’t do this dish well, as the broth lacks in flavour which results in a very bland dish. This noodle soup also had condensed (cooked) pigs blood so if you are not comfortable with it just request “no pig blood”. On the other side the pho was much better, the broth had more flavour and depth but the amount of msg that was in it was ridiculous. The meats weren’t generously given but I can sure say the pho noodles overweighed the proteins. Don’t come here for excellent service, it’s a speedy restaurant with no fuss. When we came our seat was still dirty as it had some meat on it therefore we had to manually remove it ourselves, which might not be normal to others. We also had a drink called “mung bean smoothie” which was a bit on the thick side.

I have been here over the past 14yrs no less than 30 times. It has been my No 1 pho place for this long. Sadly, this joint is finally tiring, running out of steam and losing its brilliance. Service was never 10/10, but now it is loud and careless, and staff yell out orders and wipe tables in such a frenzy that bits of food fly all over your clothes. Prices are higher than elsewhere, but trimmings such as liver and beef balls are non-existent or scarce. My guess - high Footscray rent is putting the squeeze on profits, and management is in cost cutting/greed mode. It is still a good place but it is time for a new market entrant to wow the Vietnamese community, just as these guys did 14yrs ago! I will be on the lookout for the next “pho place”
Sinfully Delicious
Footscray is filled with so many delicious Vietnamese places and we discovered this place by accident as our first pick was closed. The service is quick however not all staff speak or understand English very well. The food however was amazing and one of the best Vietnamese places I’ve tried in Melbourne. Although the menu is quite limited what they do serve up is pretty damn good. We had the pork bun was so flavoursome and chargrilled, the chicken bun is the safer option if you prefer something more toned down but still refreshing and the pork on rice was good too. Very well priced too which is always a bonus.
Patrickcoville
The pho was good as usual. The service was appalling . Partner spilled a drink. They refuse to replace it and we paid for it as well. Not happy. 50c to make and cannot replace it. Too tight. Will try somewhere next time. Enough places around there
MoZza
Fantastic Pho! The number 22 for the win! Try the prawn spring rolls...amazing! Only issue is getting a table sometimes and the excessive yelling by staff!
Gravy Lover
This place is a weekly staple for me it has one of the best pho’s I have ever eaten , the grilled Chicken pho with my added chilli sauce is like crack !
Pork and prawn spring rolls are the bomb ! The only issue is the yelling but it’s all a bit of fun . See you soon
Liuxxx
Nothing too special. overated pho. Soup flavour very bland, not enough herbs in pho.

The White coffee i ordered didn't last 5 sips before my glass was emptied out!

LingT
One of the better pho spots. Very fast service with plenty of toppings provided. Love that they serve free tea as well. Only wish they accept eftpos payment
HildaLuv2Eat
A range of Vietnamese noodles choice, I could taste a rich beef bone stock in the pho soup base, and a generous of beef meat and spoonful of garnish. The shrimp spring roll was appetizing, good for sharing!
TwoPiggyAdventure
A great local pho place! Serving was quick and straight forward. Their fried spring roll is a must try! Recommended if you are in footscray area.

My score 4 stars. J & I have had lunch here about 4 times in the past, the last visit being about 2 months ago. Always busy & justifiably so - their pho is good & great value. Service has always been good IMO, head waiter (who's very cool) has always been nice when getting us a table (I did spot her & other waiters goofing around down the back once - so they do smile)! We have tried: Grilled chicken pho (once) > Very good, but chicken a little grainy for us (this is coming from people who don't eat a lot of "non seafood" meat, so are overly picky about it). Vermicelli salad w Grilled prawns (once) > It was ok, but prawns were a bit dry (pity as this salad is one of my all time fav meals). Sliced chicken breast pho (multiple times) > Really nice. Broth, herbs, chicken, etc. all good. Last visit we had one each & I had to eat most of J's chicken (as she is now eating less meat than ever). As good as it was, I was "proteined out" by the end of the meal (we've since discovered a really good vego pho at Saigon Pho, so this was probably our swansong at PHVS 😞). If we ate meat like regular people, we would be eating at PHVS all the time & sampling much more of the menu (& give more stars 🙂)!

$14 for the chicken on rice. Look at the attached photo and you can decide.
They could have at least added an egg.
Ain't coming back for sure.
😱Lizzie’s first impression: this is one of my favourite local joints to have pho. The service is quick and the food is delicious.

🍩Lizzie enjoyed: I love the pho broth here - it is consistent every time! Their avocado smoothies are delicious also!

🍅Lizzie did not enjoy: The staff can be quite rude sometimes but that’s what you expect when they’re always so busy.

🥇Lizzie rates overall: A great local restaurant especially for pho!

food.are.excellent ,tasty and.nice always busy the only improvement was staff, they just leave the food on telhe table without asking us and not really friendly
Service and food is always so fast here, which does not diminish the quality. I always get the chicken breast pho and its so hot and flavourful. I hate places that add too much aniseed in their broth but cant taste it at all here, thats why its so good. The grilled chicken & spring rolls are tasty too. Always enjoy eating here with friends & boyfriend on the weekly!

food: 5/5
service:3/5
environment:1/5
I don't know how to rate! For food, it is 5 but for cleaning, rubbish!
I change my review because I feel the shop is too dirty now. The stuff there clean the table use a dirty duster cloth and leave the litter to the floor or chairs even fly to other table or customers. I must say I like your food, but please pay attention to cleaning even you are busy!

one of the the best PHO store in Melbourne if you don’t mind the cold service and crowded people. The soup is delicious and the rice noddle is soft and stretchy. plenty of beef include beef brisket and raw beef slices. My favorite is beef special. also have vietnam sausage and beef ball. they have three size there and large one is really huge.
by the way. it is a nice PHO shop in footscray and i often go there with a Vietnam sandwich as well.
Yuni Winingsih
Ordered large beef pho and seafood chicken spring roll, the portion is so big. Large people can be shared with 2-4 people.
The price is very reasonable and the service is good enough for the price you’ve paid.
Ferry Gondo
Super big portion of pho goodness. So warm. So comfortable. The broth was super clear, yet full of beef goodness. Always had the beef combination. Beef slices, beef offals. So delicious. Noodle always cooked perfectly. A meal fit for a starving stomach.
Melissa Eldridge
Great pho, served in very generous portions! The broth is clear and flavoursome, and not at all oily. I ordered the grilled chicken pho, although I tried the Beef and that was great too. Noodles were silky and cooked to perfection. The pho is served with complementary bean sprouts and sauces. The medium portion at $12 left me very full, and I couldn’t finish it even though it was sooo good.
LoveEatLoveCook
The best pho in Melbourne. Their soup is the always packed with favor, rich and served piping hot. Noodles were always nice and soft. Been there many times, great and consistent every single time.
Michreviews
Review comprising of my first and second visit within the 2 months. Ordered chicken and prawn rice roll which was great, the sauce compliments it well. As for the pho, the first time my partner and I ordered large as he thought of having half of my share as we always do and we definitely weren’t aware it will be that huge bowl. The noodles were way too much. The second trip I ordered a small and he ordered a medium. I wish I could ask them for lesser noodles but more meat 😅. The rice noodles were silky smooth but it was too much that it breaks up easily. The soup was good and flavourful. Consistent taste on both trips. Will be back!

Our regular place to eat pho.. pho is great and the broth is tasty and msg free.. spring roll are super tasty and the lettuce wrap makes the combination most satisfying.. I would recommend to try avocado smoothie as it is one of my favorites.. this place always full of people during lunch or dinner..
Ken Leung
I think they are worthy of 4 rating because their pho quality is consistent as ever. Soup base is always clear and doesn't consist of msg like other pho place. Highly recommended
Michael
Best pho in the heart of Footscray . Top it with some pickled onions and an avocado smoothie for maximum enjoyment. Always busy but the line usually moves quite quick
Katie Robinson
Food is always delicious and so reasonably priced.
Service is extremely efficient if not a little abrupt, but consistent.
Our go to place in Footscray!
Juli A Lawono
Best place and never go wrong with the pho, broken rice, ice coffee and many more foods. But one thing should note down!!!

Come either early or late lunch - otherwise will have long queue - once you finish wasting if peak hours they will sort of kick u you (trying to be polite way)

If your craving for pho this would be the place to go. Have tried a few places but I seem to be coming back here. Tried the pork rice and was tasty, the grilled chicken pho is my go to, with egg noodles instead of the rice noodles. Service is quick which is always a plus point when your starving!
Big Jess
Average pho, in my opinion the broth is fairly lacklustre. Staff are friendly, unless super busy, which is often. Not sure what the hype is about. Do like the pickled onion condiment.
TinaZzz
Went there on a Sunday night with my family. We didn’t really know what to order but everyone in my family enjoyed their food. The pho was beautiful! It was especially great on a cold winter night.
JtotheG
My favourite place for pho. I love how it is always packed and don't even mind squeezing in and sharing a table with others just for a bowl of this goodness. Yes, I also load it up with chilli.
Jonno
Staple “go to” place in the area, been here numerous times and have taken visiting friends and families, quality is consistent all the time, hearty soup with delicious variety of meats, LOVE the Bun Bo Hue!
The Food Book
My family and I always go here for pho and I wouldn't really choose anywhere else. The option of pickled onion with their beautifully tender brisket is just so perfect with the delicious broth. It just warms your heart.
Pandy
I’m always amazed how blazingly fast the service was in this restaurant, considering it’s always packed during lunch time. The beef pho is really tasty. They also serve avocado juice if you’re still not full after that big bowl of pho.
Jessica Cumine
Great service and nice decor. Good food as well! Only rating a 4.5 as I’ve had the best pho elsewhere and it wouldn’t be fair to rate it a 5. Pretty great however

Quick service, delicious Pho broth. I have been coming here since I was a kid! I always order my favourite Sliced Beef and Sliced Chicken Pho.
Leslie Yapi
The favourite place I go for Pho
I like the one with the beef ball and beef meat.
Portion is quite big so if you are not a big eater, the small should be enough for you.

The rice roll is also very refreshing and tasty.
Janine Vasquez
Lively atmosphere, prompt service and I would reckon they have the best pho. This is now my go to place when I'm craving for some of that soupy goodness.
Lalala
Looked up to the street with so many Vietnamese restaurants. Went straight away to the busy one. It was great indeed but the rice paper roll was not what I expected..
Hangry Jules
Pho was great, if you get medium size, it might look a bit small BUT there will be plenty of meat and noodles in there :)

Unfortunately, it's most likely that whatever you like other people will like too. It was packed with people still when we went in around 2:30pm and Sunday and I would have to say, the service was a little downside. Yeah the food came out fast, but we asked for an extra bean sprouts (we had one plate between the two people to share and we LOVE bean sprouts on our pho haha) but it never came out 😞 we didn't bother to ask again or complain cus it was just so packed with customers and yeah they could have forgotten about us das orite. Please don't expect any customer service when you come here haha.

And the beef was too big, maybe I should ask for it to be cut smaller if I go there again and there arent heaps of ppl around but then again I can just chew it off with my teeth if I get forgotten again as well 😭
Evon Tan
It was packed when we arrived for our dinner.
Being a beef pho lover, I ordered that for myself. I simply love it! We also ordered spring rolls, nothing to rave about. #bestbeefpho

Food flavours on point, fresh food, quick & tasty. The atmosphere is a bit dated & limited but the place was buzzing with people.
Value for money. Meals are large.
We will be back.

Me and a group of friends were regular customers here! I always go with the egg noodles pho, with grilled chicken at the side. Never had problem finding seats. Although the place was always crowded, the turnover was pretty quick.

Hint: Small pho should be enough to calm your stomach. But spring roll size was too small!

Best pho place I’ve tried in Melbourne. It gets really busy but he line moves really quickly because people go in eat and leave. It’s not a place if you want to relax and have a chat. It’s a place to go when you’re hungry, eat and get out 😆

Special beef pho was good ingredients were fresh , shrimp spring rolls were just ok ordered another fried snack forgot what it was, chilli sauce was good. It's a convenient joint, price is lovely and pho and soup are quite filling.

One of the better places to have a meal in Footscray. The pho here was delicious and if you have a spare room in your tummy, you should try and order their spring rolls, they are one of the better spring rolls I have tried in Melbourne. My only complaint was the tables were not cleaned up faster than it should be. So new customers might find tables full of leftover food. But hey considering how busy this place is, I guess it could be overlooked.

Great place to get a feed. Really fast service. Had the slice chicken rice noodle soup and the grilled chicken in rice. Only thing from me giving them a 5 is table space but would still go back here

I just love Vietnamese food. We had the beef pho and the vermicelli salad here. Amazing! I highly recommend this place. Expect a busy place when you come here on peak hours though.

I like to start off by saying I’m not into pho at all. Not that I hate it I just never crave it and would choose a lot of other cuisines before I would have it. Saying that a mate of mine invited me to go to his local pho place and I agreed just because I couldn’t be bothered thinking of something and boy was I in for a surprise!
The beef pho I had was delicious and the prawn spring rolls we ordered weren’t bad either!
Service was like every other pho place I’ve been to which is “hurry up and order and no smiles from me” lol
Definitely would recommend this place to anyone looking for good pho.
Super duper delicious food.

Been coming here for years. Quality never compromised.

My favourite place in Footscray. Their Grilled chicken on rice to die for.

Yes staff need to work on their customer service skills a bit more. More smiling communicating and welcoming would make a lot of difference. Guess that never put anyone off as its always packed. Great place for sure.

Needed to wait in line but was very fast. Portion was huge. Flavour was average and prefer the ones in Springvale. Car park may be hard to find on the street.

I've been here twice and ordered both beef and chicken soup noodles. 2 boys out of 4 of us think tasteless and needs a little more flavour. I would say it is ok to come during lunch break. Very fast and efficient customer service. For tasty soup noodles, I would recommend at the food court in Footscray market.

One of my favourite restaurants to go to fill my appetite.
Always a pleasure to have their delicious Pho and spring rolls.
The rice dish was also surprisingly worth it 👌👌👌.
It’s usually busy when I go so the place may get a bit humid. Don’t be expecting clean sparkly floors.

Long time no review!
And I’m more than happy to come back with a straight 4. Well, as a Vietnamese, I have always been serious about my Phở (yeah, seriously, why shouldn’t I?). So finally, I found this place and had a pleasant lunch with my new friend. She was the one who dragged me here thanks to her obsession of Phở (she said she loves Vietnamese food so I asked her ‘what vietnamese food do you eat?’ -> ‘Phuh and Banmi’ 🙄🙏🏻). I was like a parrot keeps repeating to her ‘vietnamese food is not only Phở and Bánh Mì’).
Anyways, I enjoyed the Phở here. There are two main elements that I consider whenever I have this Vietnamese signature dish. Broth and noodles. It’s always a challenge to find a place that can tick the boxes for both of them. The soup was very clean, clear and light. I thought elegance was the right word to describe it. We had rare beef noodle soup so I did expect a stronger and more punching kind of flavors (usually chicken Phở is supposed to be on a lighter side). I do realize that for people who eat saltier than me, it would be a bit bland. But for me, it was just enough. I wish it could have been hotter so the aroma can be brought to a next level (later on, i realized that the air-con was the culprit lowering the soup temperature 😤). I also cant complain about the noodles. Nice texture and shape. Very smooth and silky. They might have been a bit too generous with the noodles so the ratio was not so ideal. Beef was fresh and juicy. I usually don’t add herbs because I like to enjoy the true taste of soup.
At last, I’m so proud of myself for showing my friend another tasty Vietnamese dish. Broken rice with pork chop, shredded pork and fried egg (like a Vietnamese version of English big breakfast- meaty and fulfilling)! She was totally impressed by the rice and that gave me the best enjoyment. Though I would suggest a bigger piece of pork chop. Well, maybe they do need to distribute their generosity equally.

Pho Hung Vuong Saigon is one of the best restaurants i’ve visited so far! My boyfriend introduced me to this place when he moved into the area last year. And i’ve been eating at this restaurant sooo many times!

And each time, i’ve never come home with empty-(or sick)stomach and felt disappointed. Their service is always great — they always greet and seat you right away after you enter the restaurant. The staffs never “ignore” you, they’re always moving around making sure each table is good.

In terms of food, i’d say it’s preeeetty good! Their pho is always yummo! Their chopped chilli used to be hotter, but now I think it’s not as hot. But they’ve got a really good chilli oil, if you like your soup slightly hotter. And the price itself is pretty decent, even quite cheap i’d say — $11 for the small pho, and it’s a lot of portion! Drinks are all nice too, i usually order custard apple smoothie — might be a tiny bit too sweet, but i still love it!

I’ve never been to Vietnam yet, so I don’t have any grounds to say that this restaurant is the best one ever — but it sure is the best one so far in Melbourne (but this is just my opinion). Took my family here when they were visiting from overseas, and boi, they got hooked right away. They wanted to go back to the restaurant the following day!

Lovely experience, always happy with food + service + price + everything! Will defs come back again soon :-)

Lived in west few years, then moved. Every time when I want to eat pho, here is the best place to come. Very nice pho! And the staff are still same, warm and welcome. Love it.

While I prefer the Vietnamese offerings from Springvale, this restaurant offers a great selection with delectable meat options. Rice paper rolls were soft and chewy but lacking a good amount of meat and were split. The pho was flavourful but the noodles were a bit broken and shorter than usual, smaller bowl than expected for a medium size.
