Great food, excellent service and very friendly staff. We were accommodated as a large group. Food was delicious. Didn't take very long from order to food on the table. Which was good as the beautiful smells were making us hungry. Highly recommend this place.

Have been here a few times now and tried a few different dishes. SO YUMMY!! LOVE the rendang beef curry and also the Hainanese chicken. Have also had the rendang roti wrap from the food truck...omg they are the new end of night kebabs for me haha yaaaahm drooling just thinking about it...

Having ordered online from Roti Road, we already knew we weren't going to be disappointed and it delivered in spades. Great location just off the busy end Footscray with good parking available, Roti Road is a must visit for simple, delicious and fresh food. Well the Roti is anyway as we could see the chef making it through the very large viewing window into the kitchen.
Service is prompt, helpful and friendly however we did find that they were a little scarce when we wanted to order dessert and hand to look for them.
Ambiance is welcoming, open and inviting. Cleanliness is kept well and the overall state of the restaurant looked very presentable. The food overall was delicious and we were very pleased in particular with the Roti Cenai with a side of Beef Rendang. Delicious. The Hainanese Chicken Rice could do with some work, a little more flavour with the ginger and the stock could do with extra chicken bones. Perhaps just a personal preference? For dessert we ordered the Ice Kechang wjich even for us was slightly on the too sweet side but still so very enjoyable.
We look forward to gping back and having some more home style soul food but till next time, this is Our Foodie Find!
Food was delicious and came out really quickly. We ordered satay chicken skewers, plain roti with a side of beef rendang and hainanese chicken rice. Enjoyed everything and it was well priced as well.
Another Malaysia restaurant I would also recommend!! But this one - if you’re craving for roti! This is the restaurant to go to!!!!! The Roti was the main highlight stand out dish! And have you tried the ROTI fried ice-cream???! It’s definitely a must try!!! Perfect dessert dish I reckon!!!!

1. Amazing smoothies - avocado with ice cream & watermelon & lychee smoothie
2. Roti Canai - the traditional malaysian roti
3. Stir fry noodles with fish cakes & prawns
4. Salt & pepper chicken ribs
5. Nasi Goreng with fried chicken.
6. Netella Roti - this is amazing roti filled with banana slices served with nutella & ice cream scoop.
These were few of the classics which you must try along with heaps of other dishes when you head here.

It’s a really good place for big groups, casual hangouts and have drinks & food. The dishes we ordered at lunch time were quick, tasty, value for money. Staff is very friendly. Apart from uncomfortable chairs the place looked really huge and was divided in to two sections. Could see the kitchen from dining area so that was a good sign that the kitchen was clean so the food was clean and delicious.
Best Roti Canai! Really reminds me of Roti I ate during my internship time in Kuala Lumpur. The portion is generous and the sauce and sambals are yum!!! Their nasi lemak and grilled chicken are just so so. nothing stand out. The staff is not quite friendly. I don't feel like any customer engagement.
Had the stir fried combination flat noodles also known as Wat Tan Hor. Loved how it had the charred flavours and was topped with a silky rich egg gravy. They do have a wide range on the menu and there are so many good choices.
Cant wait to be back to try their nasi lemak. The staff were really friendly and we enjoyed our meal

Malay eatery in Footscray.
The place is pretty big, with lots of seats inside. The food took a reasonable time to come, the nasi lemak was quick though. Staffs were quite nice, but sometimes hard to call as there was none in our area.
Nasi lemak with beef rendang was yummmmy. The portion was so generous, the rendang was so flavorful, not that spicy and on the sweeter side which I love. The rice was fragrant as well, and love the sambal and the anchovies!
Hainanese chicken rice was quite good too. The rice was quite tasty, though I'd prefer more ginger. The chicken was tender and good amount, the sauce was on the sweeter side.
The laksa was pretty yummy. Portion was definitely generous, there were all kinds of meats in there, came with yellow noodle and some veggies too. I do think it could use atad bit more flavor kick, and I like my laksa with vermicelli and noodle mixed.
The char kway teow (normal) was yummy. It'd the KL style aka it's on the sweeter side, aka didn't look like the photo in the menu which was lighter in color. Anyhow, good portion and well balanced flavor.
The vegetarian version was lacking though, it was less saltier which was a shame and they didn't mention they had vegetarian menu so we had to add a $2 for tofu.
Milo was yummy, really generous with the milo, though came quite warm for an iced one lol.
Lemon tea came in a cup with lipstick stain on it, but the staff apologized and changed it to a new one.
Overall, a pretty great casual style malaysian eatery with a need of small improvements.

Made an online booking which was confirmed by the restaurant, however, they didn’t have my reservation down upon arriving. Thankfully they had a table anyways. This place can be quite busy but definitely worth it. Staff are attentive and very friendly. Usually my go to for a quick dinner

Taste quite good for they Nasi Lemak. I tried the Beef Rendang and the Chicken Rendang at the same time. Pretty affordable, but other menu quite pricey. Environment pretty good as well. Recommended to try for Malaysian that miss Malaysia food.

I would say you must def visit this place.
Roti road is a lively restaurant with great atmosphere. We went as a group of 4 and opted with banquet 2... The quality of food is good, the service is great. I think that’s what made it as enjoyable as it was. The staff know their stuff and are always smiling. Will definitely come again.
Malaysian restaurant with a wide range of choices. They have individual dishes like Char Kuey Teow or you can order main dishes like stir fry veggie or fried fish. The char kuey teow and hor fun tasted nice but missing that charcoal flavour. The roti is cooked nicely and fluffy. The sambal sauce that comes with the roti is very good.
Simple Malaysian restaurant and awesome taste. I love the Laksa and hainanese chicken. Staff are very responsive and helpful. It is in main street, it was bit difficult to find the parking at busy time.
Love a bit of Roti Road, great food and service and very affordable prices. Our favourites are their Nasi Goreng, Laksa’s and Roti bread. The roti bread comes with three dipping sauces and it’s really fresh too!
Great service and great food at a great price. Not much more you can ask for! We ordered a couple of laksas and they came quickly. Will definitely go again and again.
Apart from the amazing food, I left here so impressed by the service, most notably by Alan the manager who remembered names from before. This guy is amazing! I’ve never met someone as attentive, happy who enjoyed serving people.

Staff is really friendly and tried to help us non spicy fried noodles.
The fried noodles were served pepperly hot but tasty and Vegetables laksa was chilly spicy.
My boy left half of dessert so it scored half.

Amazing roti & delicious laksa! Took the family here for the first time tonight, and we all rolled out of there an hour later having stuffed ourselves with all manner of delicious food. Highlights were the roti canai & curry laksa, as well as delicious bubble-drink creations. Chicken satay, salt & pepper tofu, dumplings and spring rolls also quite tasty, although not as amazing as the roti & laksa. With four starters & three mains, we ended up taking enough home for at least two people to eat dinner from the leftovers. We will definitely be back!

🍩Lizzie enjoyed: the more noticeable dishes are the laksa - always the same consistency and generous amounts of noodles. The hainanese chicken is also cooked superbly! the satay chicken skewers and the roti starters are delicious.

Entertaining & amazing restaurant. Service with an absolute smile, the waiter (possibly owner) was so helpful giving us tips on what to order.

I don't like the tofu used here.I've had it as salt n pepper fried tofu and also in soups and stir fried.it has a funny taste,a little bit preserved and vinegary.not nice and on a recent visit bnb i noticed the table next to us, didn't eat theirs. Special vermicelli vegetable soup on the plain side (prefer the Sapa Hills one by far)

Be aware menu changed from 16th april 2018 so some of the much loved specials and menu items are gone like fish curry and red prawn curry but there are a few new veg options on the specials menu but no red prawn curry anymore 😢
Pretty good! Just a bit spicy for me though but still had really good flavours. They are very generous with their portions too! Good for a food court food. Surprised they don't have their own restaurant

So I’m amending my last review which was, deservedly, pretty harsh. We had a really bad experience here but I guess any place can have a bad night (though it still irks me how often you go to a restaurant and see uber eats orders flying out the door while the people sitting there are left to wait...) so we gave it a second chance.
Man I’m glad we did. We’ve been back several times and the Laksa is excellent. As is the char kway teow (maybe a little on the small side though I am a pig so it might be enough for anyone with a normal appetite. I coveted my girlfriend’s mee goreng - which was a good size - from across the table). The roti is everything it should be and the Nasi lemak with rendang beef is just delicious.
I’ve been a bit gun shy about ordering stuff from the “Main” section of the menu because seemingly that’s where our bad night started last time but I’m sure they’re all yummy. Anyway, between the soups, noodles and rice dishes there are heaps of options anyway.
Prices are good, service is quick and the staff are friendly.
I had the laksa, the roti, fried rice, some noodles, deep fried dumplings and dumplings in chilli oil. I don’t really recall the exact names. The roti and laksa were to die for with both flavours being on point. The laksa, for my first ever one, was brilliantly tangy and became immediate comfort food for me. The dumplings were both let downs as the deep fried ones were over cooked and the filling became exposed since the “skin” of it appeared to have popped in the hot oil. It was very dry and the meat had become shrivelled rendering it practically inedible. Maybe some people will like the spicy dumplings but I found them overwhelming due to the imbalance of black vinegar and definitely was far from spicy. The fried rice... a little bland and mundane, but it’ll hit the spot if you’re craving just a standard fried rice. Maybe it could’ve used some of the salt from the stir fried noodles.
Great set up here in Footscray with heaps to choose from on the menu.
The roti are made fresh on site daily, comes out fluffy and light.
Char Kuay Teow is rich and a generous serve. Nasi Lemak comes with prawn sambal and the side of your choice (albeit the sambal is more sweat than spicy)
In a larger group recently we tried the share dishes instead: Kung Po Chicken, Sambal Prawn, Salt and Pepper Tofu, Kangkung Belachan - all were good.
Will be back, maybe the Yum Cha next time.
Spicy seafood laksa was delicious. Only thing that let me down was that it appeared to have a decent amount of ingredients when you first look at the dish, but once you dig in I found it didn’t have as many ingredients like the other eateries such as the other Malay stores; ie Laksa King Newmarket or Sambal Kampung at Edgewater. Had other dishes last time I was here and they were good. Would stick to the Rotis however next time but had to try the Laksa, just in case it’s a winner. Chilli dumplings were tasty, definitely give them a go.
I’ve been to Roti Road at the Highpoint food court a number of times but this is the first time to the Footscray branch. The ambience and setting of the restaurant is a lot more cosy and inviting than the food court environment. Service is pretty good and friendly. We ordered the roti canai, chicken satay, char kuey teow, teh tarik and iced Malaysian coffee. The roti is made fresh and very light and fluffy. The Satays are hot , tasty and generous in portion. The only let down was the Char Kuey Teow which we find a little too soggy, maybe too much dark soy sauce? The price is very reasonable and I think we will return again very soon to try the other menu.
Our favourite restaraunt! Amazing food, wonderful service; the waiters recognise us and are polite & helpful. Clean, friendly atmosphere. Always enjoy coming here.

I’ve been here a few times, and all my experiences have been quite alright. The service isn’t amazing here, and it’s quite hard to get the waiters attention as they always seem to be on the other side of the room.
Food:
Ipoh fried noodles - egg gravy sauce is nice and thick and silky, they’re very generous with the sauce. The noodles were delicious and flavourful and coated in a nice soy sauce.
Indonesian seafood hot pot - served piping hot in a pot on top of a burner, this seafood curry is sweet and coconut-y and so delicious. The curry is very similar to laksa - very creamy and coconut-y, except not very spicy at all. Lots of seafood and fish cakes, and green beans and okra.
Stir fried water spinach with spicy shrimp paste - sauce was delicious and flavourful, not too salty or spicy. It was a bit oily as we got to the bottom though.
Fish head noodle soup - super flavourful, fish was very tender and fried perfectly. Tofu and vegetables soaked nicely in the broth, and the sour pickled vegetables were delicious.
I’ve also tried the char kuay teow and roti here, both of which I’d highly recommend!
The food is really good. The roti, the dim sum dishes, and other noodles/rices dishes, are authentically Malaysian/Cantonese. I also love their Teh Terik, so smooth. We eat here all the time!

I absolutely love getting Roti Telur from here. The pastry is fluffy, with hints of egg coming through when you're lucky enough to get a good chunk in your bite. The accompanying sauces are delicious and fragrant.
The Special Salt & Pepper Flounder Basket thoughtfully had the meat taken off and sauteed in their delicious combination of salt & pepper while the bones were deep fried. This is one of the few times I can confidently say we finished the whole fish!
The Thai Style Vegetarian Fried Rice was decent, the tofu didn't absorb the flavours so it tasted a lot like nothing.
Service was lacking. Waitresses spent a notable amount of time on other side of the restaurant getting their attention was awfully difficult. As a result, I had to go up to the counter to order which is where I was greeted with a smile which did show they were hospitable.
I would've liked to see them coming around to the 'full' side of the restaurant just to see if the diners would've liked anything and to see if they were okay.
It was a great experience. Roti and Chicken rendang were dishes of the day. Thought Mamak had been the best til I tried this place.

It was good but not what I expected from an Malaysian restaurant . The steam chicken wasn't good at all ..I don't know if I can recommend someone or if Iam going there soon .. May be I will since I live close by and I don't have many options to choose.
The roti here is excellent and you can see it being freshly made. They also put on a bit of a roti throwing/flipping trick show at dinnertime which was a highlight. The laksa was a let down, they only put hokkien noodles in rather than the usual mix of hokkien and vermicelli. I missed the lighter vermicelli. Char kway teow was nice but also noticed the usual Chinese sausage was missing. Not bad but better malaysian options out there.
I am absolutely hookled on the barbeque chicken - a real bbq char and moist ! Noodle dishes are great and their curry laksa (vegetarian) very generous with the silkiest eggplant. And roti of course - flaky, buttery, yum! I can't wait to eat in but in the meantime its become my Saturday night home delivery favourite. Quick delivery too.
We celebrated my sister's birthday and I found it to be a pleasant experience. The wait staff were lovely and delivered speedy service. The food was reasonably priced and tasty.

Usually grab lunch here on weekdays. Pretty consistent with the quality of their food. One of the best Malaysian restaurants around. Favourites on rotation: fried kueh tiaw, roti telur bawang, mun yee meen, wat tan hor, curry chicken with egg noodle. 👍🏼 customer service can be inconsistent at times though - eg. missed out on special requirements, which can be frustrating sometimes!
