Review Huong Viet Vegetarian & Vegan - Footscray

Eclectus Cappy
This has to be the best vegan/ vegetarian restaurant I have been to. Since becoming vegetarian, 6 years ago, I have not had sweet and sour pork - and OMG it tasted so good, like how I remember it. The rice paper rolls are highly recommended with the peanut, spicy dipping sauce. The crispy mushrooms - delicious, crunchy and absolutely not soggy at all.

Great portions, great prices, great food. This place is amazing, if you’re vegan (and even if you’re not) this place is a must visit. Only a five minute walk from Footscray station, making it super convenient. I’d recommend seafood or pork but everything on the menu is delicious. If you need gluten free, most of the tofu and vegetable dishes are okay.

Exceptional, delicious vegan Vietnamese. Had the broken rice and rice vermicelli and beef rolls. All the mock meats and proteins were amazing. The egg and pate was very convincing. Highly recommended.

This place does not disappoint! Yummy vegetarian food at your doorstep. The decor of the restaurant makes for a very tranquil dining experience.

Friendly service with delicious Vietnemese vegetarian & vegan food in Footscray. My must order is their Bun Rieu (tomato crab noodle soup) and Com Tam (broken Rice)! Check them out and let me know what you think 😊

I've been here a few times now and always blown away by how delicious all the food is. The all vegan menu has so much variety - we had the mock duck pancakes, fried wontons and combination pho which all had so much flavour and great texture to the mock meat. The pho especially was full of flavour which is often missed in vegan pho. The prices are very reasonable, the food came out quickly and the staff are lovely - you can't go wrong!

The best vegan pho I've eaten so far and the staff are super friendly. Will come here again ! Edit. Came here again with my wife after lockdown 6 was eased and shops opened up for dine in. This place definitely did not disappoint. Food is amazing!

Best vegan restaurant in Melbourne! No doubt.. everything was so flavoursome. Better than some non vegan restaurants. Even friends who don’t normally eat vegan food came back here on their own after I took them. 10/10 in all the dishes we’ve tried. Highly recommended! 🤩

I have eaten here twice in five days and have loved the food! Huong Viet is my new favourite restaurant and am looking forward to eating my way through the menu. I've tried the rice paper rolls, the delicious spring rolls and WOW the dipping sauce tasted so like fish sauce! ( But NO fishy smell!) I tried the fried wonton special, snail soup, the shark fin soup, the rice Noodle salad and the yummy S&P tofu. The mackeral was interesting to try especially the "skin" which I loved. My favourites though we're the duck, so yummy and the sizzling beef. That sauce is amazing on the beef. But oh that dipping sauce that tasted like fish sauce is so yummy ( giving up fish sauce was one of the hardest things for me). *disclaimer I promise I wasn't by myself when I ate all these things... LOL *. Lastly the staff are friendly and delightful and happy to answer my many questions. Thank you and I'll be back soon!

The food was delicious! The staff were incredibly friendly & the service was fast. I recommend the vegan saute duck, so good! Will definitely visit again :-)

The duck sautè my favourite paired with the Mangolian beef on jasmine rice is a win all the time, would eat their regularly, if I could. 🍛🍛🍛🍛🍱🍚🍥🍲🍙🍣

I have learned about this place from a friend so we tried their food and we were so delighted. Very friendly service and excellent choices of vegetarian and vegan dishes. It is a restaurant you won't hesitate going back to.

I came here today for lunch very excited about Vietnamese food incorporating mock meats and it did not disappoint. The service was amazing, the staff were more than welcoming and gave my partner and I free tea on arrival, we then shared some rice, satay "goat" and sweet and sour "pork chops" and it was so amazing, the flavours were incredible, especially the sweet and sour sauce, I wanted to lick the bowl clean. As it's only a short drive from me I'll be coming back at least once a month, if not more. I love it, I can't say anything bad of it. If I had anything I could recommend it would be to possibly close the door during the more colder days, I can completely understand why it would be open to draw customers in, but it was quite chilly in there today, luckily I had the tea to warm me up! Also, some background noise (tv/music) would make it just that little bit more relaxed and comfortable, just my thoughts anyway. Anyway, I'll be back again next week to try more things and I can't wait, thank you!

Love love love love it! Best vegan/vegetarian Vietnamese Restaurant in Melbourne. The flavours are so authentic, reasonable price and the service is amazing. Now I'm eating their vegan congee as I type to get over this flu. Such comfort food, reminds me of my childhood. Love it

Fantastic food. Faux beef just like the real thing. Great to see Vegan restaurants and or Vegan option becoming more common place.

Stumbled across this place while killing time before a getting a tattoo. So so happy I found it! Food is amazing, service is great!!

Great place! The best vegie food I ever had! Would recomnend this to everyone.

My score 4.0 stars (avg of 2 reviews). J got takeaway from here on Fri 21 Feb.Entrée Faux chicken nuggets – Looks like the real thing, slightly firmer innards and slightly drier (wouldn’t have again). Fiery but not very sweet “sweet chilli sauce”. Forgot to photo them we were so hungry!G1 Vego and faux meat claypot – Glad-wrap seal for traveling (nice touch), cashews on top, same as last time (yummo)!!! Jan 2019 > Staff and service good! We had: H3 - Vit Quay Ram (Vegan sauté duck $15) > Masses of really good faux duck. Nice chunky veg (esp capsicum) and some of the nicest zucchini we’ve had in a long time. Sauce was a bit too peppery IMO. G1 - Tay Cam Bat Buu (Tofu, veg and mock meat claypot – no rice BTW $16) > Our preferred dish of the two. Tofu, cashews and “meats” were great, except the “chicken” which was just a little chewy (I could pass on the “fish balls” too). Standout veg was the baby bok choy and shitake mushrooms (yum) – carrot pieces were too big and a little undercooked for me. Sauce was also peppery, but more in balance and less sweet than the "duck" dish. Not as cheap as some of the nearby Vietnamese places, but so nice to find another restaurant doing tasty meat-free food – we’ll be back.

Order some food from this restaurant on Uber Eats. One of the dishes has hair and I'm not very happy about it.

Amazing tomato rice! As a vegetarian, it can be challenging to find good food and mock meat. This place serves one of the best tomato rice I've ever had.
Price is $15 for a huge serving.
Complimentary tea
Great atmosphere, relaxing music and not too packed.

We went here on a Zomato Gold trek; no problems redeeming Gold.
The food however is okay, the service was a little awkward and uncomfortable.
We were questioned if we were vegan even before we stepped into the restaurant. Does it matter if I'm a vegan or not? They could clearly see I was reading the menu...
There is one worker with head phones who was rushing around in a unsafe manner practically running inbetween the tables.
The food was nothing special, basically everything had mock meat.
I got the sizzling 'beef' and rice. It didn't come on a sizzling platter and I thought fair enough maybe they don't have them. I look up and there goes a sizzling platter..
The rice they served me was hard and dry; not soft and fluffy the way it should be.
The sauce was nice however not enough of it.
I've had better mock meat so I don't understand the praise this place gets.
The spring rolls were inconsistent. The ingredients were not spread evenly through the batch.
I don't think I'll be returning.
And no I'm not hating on this joint just because it it vegetarian/vegan.
I've been to many that don't need mock meat to be tasty.

This is the kind of place you'd take a meat-loving friend to, just to see their face of pure disbelief when they take their first bite of this magic food.

I have been a numerous places that put a focus on their mock meat, and Huong Viet's level of imitation for all of their dishes is almost scary. Their food somehow substitutes meat in a way that's both appealing to people who love the texture of meat, but also satisfies people who don't like the texture of meat... Like, this must be witchcraft then, right?!

Ugh, just stop reading and go there. You deserve this food, and they deserve the business and praise.
Olive
What a pleasant surprise this place was. The place is a basic little Vietnamese restaurant with standard decor but the food was fantastic. I ordered the sauté duck and it tasted delicious. They use mock meats which taste scarily like real meat.
I went with a group of friends and I tasted their dishes and I could not fault a thing!! If you’re a vegetarian or vegan this place is a must try. If you’re a meat eater definitely give this place a try and you’ll be amazed at how you can fulfil your meat cravings with something cruelty free.
This place is heaven for vegans and vegetarians! So many varied options.

We tried:
Salt n Pepper Tofu (fried and tasty!)
DIY rice paper rolls with 'whole fish' (so fresh and delicious!)
Tomato Rice (so yummy!!)
Vegan Spring rolls (so crispy!)

I am definitely keen to go back and try more of the many many vegan Vietnamese dishes :)
FOOD TRIP
Huong Viet is a vegetarian and vegan friendly restaurant in Footscray. The restaurant is simple with a quiet ambiance. Good variety of vietnamese dishes and well flavoured too. Would recommend for those with dietary requirements. Pho Dac Biet $12. A very herbal tasting soup. Meat was very tender and easy to eat. Not the usual pho flavours. ★★★
Masumi
This was my first experience to eat Vegetarian Bun Cha which was very light for stomach but with deep flavour. Will go back to try other menu.
Open-Kitchen
Restaurant was quite full, however the service was good and efficient. Friendly staffs. The vegetarian sour soup and claypot duck were delicious, will definitely visit again..
Not until i became vegetarian only i found out that Huong Viet in Footscray is a Vegetarian restaurant that always been around. Most dishes here are great with a great taste and generous portion. However some noodles may not be tasted the same as I tasted else where. For example their Bun Rieu is okay but slightly different taste to other Bun Rieu I have tasted before. Overall this is a great place to visit when im craving for some Vietnemese food.

Good ambience. Peaceful place. Delicious Viet dish with tasty mock meat! The spring roll is also delicious. Very recommended for vegan. The staff are also friendly
Full Time Wholesomeness
Mindblowing mock meat. First ever footscray exploration of vegan/ vegetarian food. Vegan saute Duck was closely resembling the texture, the layers and the flavour of duck. Combination popular pho was also a blend of different type of mock beef, even beef bone marrow/ tendon! I gave overall a 4 out of 5 because I would hope to see more vegetable varieties in the dishes which would make my trip with a stronger Asian blow!

3.5
I really enjoy their bun bo hue and will recommend to all vegetarians/ vegans, as well as non-vegetarians coming with vegetarian/vegan friends like myself. For meat-eaters, I believe that there are more flavorful and tastier noodle soup places around Footscray, but this place is a great option to consider especially for those who can't eat meat! The variety of mock meat provide different tasty textures and the noodles are yummy- I guarantee you will end the meal feeling very satisfied and only $12 out of pocket! Service is just standard as expected, but never rude, and the place is clean. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
Suparups
Tried Vegan Viet sizzling beef with rice. Vegan beef is my go-to dish in vegan Asian places. Didn’t hear any sizzle, but it was quite delicious. Soup was like a light consommé, and the welcome tea was free.
Yayy!
Rozzi Ta'eed
Food is yum. Only complaint is I want more veggies! Most dishes very heavy on mock meat, would like to have a few more options that have a bit less mock meat and lots more veggies :)
Iris Myandowski
This is the food of my dreams. I would eat here everyday if I could. We had the sizzling beef and the duck. I can't choose a favourite so far.
Whalesfoodadventure
Got the N2 (pho with mock meat) amazing pho especially since i am vegetarian and can not eat meat. However really like the mock meat and broth! Great service here
Thiên Bảo
I ordered dry Nam Vang style noodle (Hủ tíu Nam Vang khô). The order took like 20-25min which is too long. The noodle has no sauce so it was plain and too dry. I have to order some more soy sauce to eat with the noodle. Not really recommend this place, but I will give it another chance.
Sally Wu
Went with family of 4 ( all vegetarians) we’ve had the most wonderful pho and Viet cuisine with extremely friendly service provided. The highlight for the evening was the spicy beef lemon grass noodles in soup and fried chicken.....Devine 😻 will definitely return !
Lizzie’sFoodventures
Amazing options for vegans and vegetarians!! The best Viet veg restaurant in Melbourne for sure. The pho is amazing and loaded with so much authentic aroma and flavour! Also located super close to the station so it's very convenient! Would 100% come again

Pretty yummy Vietnamese vegetarian / vegan food. We always order the rice paper roll (ask for tofu instead of mock meat - it's healthier and even yummier) because the sauce is just so delicious. The portion for rice dishes is also very generous, making it value for money.
BBQ fried rice in claypot is very nice too.

Very good and attentive service too. Some of them cannot speak English but most can so no issues here. The music selection is also random but surprisingly nice.
Melb_Belly
This little vegan/vegetarian Vietnamese restaurant is located on Leeds st. It's your typical Vietnamese restaurant set up, tissue box on table, cutlery and a chilli oil on the table. The waiter was friendly and had these massive over ear headphones on but it didnt affect his hearing, had me wondering what he was listening too 😅

We ordered the spring rolls and banh hoi, a d.i.y rice paper roll with fried "fish". Let's start with the spring rolls. They come in a serving of 4 and they are massive. Over half the length of a tablespoon and almost as wide as half the spoon itself 😲. It comes with a generous amount of lettuce and mint and a vegan fish sauce. It taste quite similar to normal fish sauce actually. The inside is what you'd find in a typical vego spring roll 5/5.

The banh hoi was very interesting, enough to share between two you get a mount of greens, a small jug of peanut chilli dipping sauce and a plate of fine vermicelli and this fried loaf looking thing on top. You're provided with a pair of scissors to cut the "fish" into smaller pieces. The "fish" is quite unique, it's very hard to explain the flavour, it's savoury and a bit seafoodish from the seaweed. Being fried it's nice and crispy when you bite into it. Inside it's not rubbery or mushy nor does it taste like tempeh as most mock meat does. Also there's a process on how to eat this. Dip the rice paper into the water provided, put a layer of vermicelli and some "fish", then your greens and roll it up like a rice paper roll 4/5.

Overall I enjoyed the experience and didn't miss the meat component at all. I'll definitely be back to try their authentic soups like pho, bun bo hue and bun mam.
Quince And Cheese
Love love love this completely meatless eatery offering all the Vietnamese classics I could hope for. Mock fish congee?? Vegan salt and pepper chicken? You can't go wrong here. Tofu dishes also available for those who don't like faux meat. Prices are reasonable and serves are all pretty big. Staff will look after you, but note that they're cash only, so withdraw some before visiting.

Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Taste: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ambiance: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Value: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

One of the best-tasting Vietnamese vegetarian and vegan restaurants in Melbourne. I have tried many vegetarian restaurants, and I can say that this restaurant is the best.

The noodle soups and rice dishes tastes almost the same as their meat counterparts. The vegetarian Phở, Bún Bò Huế, and even the chicken nuggets taste almost the same as the real thing but without the meat of course! My favourite right now is the vegan Hainanese Chicken Rice. I am really impressed how they can use mock meat and vegetables to create a range of delicious vegetarian and vegan dishes that taste almost like the real thing. Service is always great, and this place also does UberEats!
Thuaners
Wow! I tried the duck, because a lot of reviews here said it was really good. Im so glad i did! I took one bite and it blew my mind! The taste and texture, so good! Id love to come back here and try other things on the menu! And id love to recommend this place to my vegetarian/vegan friends! :) the service was really great! Also i liked the music they had playing when i was here, it reminded me of the chinese wuxia series i used to watch as a kid :)

Cute and delicious!
Saw this place while driving past and thought we would give it a try.
Has the chicken strips - faux chicken and the combination soup.
Both delicious and packed with flavour.
Jasmine
Incredibly affordable Vietnamese vegetarian comfort food at a no frills restaurant.

Ordered:
🍲 Bún bò huế: Viet spicy lemongrass noodle soup with mock meats ($12.00)

Review:
Nothing is as spicy/earth shattering/face trembling as fina's incredibly spicy vegetarian bun bu hue but huong viet's version is not bad.
Plethora of mock meats give you fun texture and flavour while the broth itself is very full bodied.
The noodles were a little too soft which broke apart with the snip of my chopsticks. I prefer my noodles more al dente.
Be aware the orange broth may stain your clothes lol.

Service isn't super amazing but it's as no frills as you'd expect. It's nice to see a restaurant primarily focusing on vegetarian, vegan food when Vietnamese cuisine is very much meat dominated.
Jenny Quan
Some of the most delightful vegetarian you will have in Melb, Aus. Ordered 'Banh Hoi' with the faux fish, very flavorful. This little restaurant has very friendly staff. Overall experience was lovely.
Teeny Reeny
I really love this place! It's perfect if you're a vegetarian craving meat - the faux meat is really good. I would suggest ordering anything with beef, as I have found it's the most tasty of the 'meats.' It's probably on the more expensive side for restaurants in Footscray, but still very affordable! Great for take-away.
Amy Kidd
I have loved every single dish I've had here. I particularly love the combination fried rice, the sauteed 'duck' and the pho. Delicious, fresh, tasty food and great customer service.

I’m almost here once a week. At times I find myself craving their rice paper rolls so much that I have to go out of my way to go to Huong Viet. The sauce is also die for. Another go-to/cannot-go-wrong/goes-down-a-bloody-treat is their lemongrass noodle soup aka bun bo hue. My goodness. It is better than the temple’s version and even better than the meat version. I love Huong Viet and am always recommending it to my friends!! Their chicken nuggets aren’t too bad either.

Maru Guidale
Great quality for the price! I had a super fresh noodle salad with tasty spring rolls. Simple but well done! Coupled with complimentary lovely tea. I would definitely come back :)
Cameron_james1993
HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Very polite staff, amazing food, mainly vegan, but all my friends who eat meat love it. Ubereats favourite, but the atmosphere in restaurant is so lovely, love song music plays, they serve hot tea when you sit, cold water, and everything comes out fast.
VYN
Love this place - best mock duck meat I’ve ever had. The green beans, lemongrass tofu and tomato rice are fabulous too - will definitely be back!
May Li
I like the environment on the restaurant and I went there 3 times because I enjoyed the food too much. Recommend the mock fish with rice roll, really nice and feeding.
TigerTreeEats
We had the lotus stem salad and spring rolls noodles. Spring rolls almost tasted like a healthy version of mini chiko spring rolls. There wasn’t much salad, very minimal herbs. Lotus stem salad was nice but slightly drenched in its dressing. Some more mint would have added more balance and perhaps replacing some of capsicum with beanshoot or carrots instead of having both green and red capsicum.

I’m not a vegetarian but I love my vegetables and have a few vegan friends. There are not many vegetarian or vegan cafe around so it’s good to find more of them. Hong Viet is a Vietnamese vegetarian cafe and was quiet on
Sunday lunch. There was only one staff standing at the counter. It’s table service, so the waiter came to take our food order by our table. Usually not a fan of mock meat but I wouldn’t mind a few pieces. We ordered the pho soup and the duck meat with a bowl of jasmine rice. You can’t compared to the original dish as obviously they don’t serve you with real meat. I like the flavour of the pho broth which was mushroom based instead of beef. However I find the mock meat for the beef and duck are a bit too artificial. It’s not expensive but I think I’ll prefer to pay the same money for the real meat!

First time diner but definitely worth it.

My friend and I are always looking for new vegan restaurants and today was our lucky day. Not far from Footscray station which is great.
Easy to find as well. And not so bad to find parking.

We were seated right away and it was so nice to see all types of ethnicities dining at this place. The place was very clean and spacious. It looked like it could feel up quickly for lunch though.

We got served by this lovely man which was so spot on with the menu and his recommendations. He was really friendly and truely wanted to get to know his diners.

We had the Vegan Mongolian Beef and the Vegan Goat. Both came out sizzling and we got the choices of 5 levels of spicy. We love spicy food so it was refreshing to have that ability to have it really hot.
We also ordered 2 bowls of steamed rice and dessert for after the main meal.

The vegan beef and goat were to die for and so many veggies as well, so pleased. The ratio from “meat” to veggie was spot on.
The Vegan meats were so well made and served.

Afterwards our desserts arrived right on time and so beautifully

We ordered the Jelly and a serving of the young Tofu

Bother were amazing. If you have a sweet tooth the jelly is right up your ally with little cubes of fruit inside and covered in Rose water.

And the tofu has a nice pudding like texture but not too sweet. Great for kids and a great palette cleanser.
Having them together is so inexpensive.

We both ordered a drink also. I got a bottle of flavoured mineral water in lime. Loved it.

My friend ordered a coconut water which conveniently came in a small bottle also.

This place was great and fast. Definitely go again.
Can’t wait to try more dishes next time.

Zee
Ordered on über eats. Great spring rolls, nuggets and lemongrass tofu. The "fish" in ginger sauce wasn't what I was expecting. Just generic faux meat but the sauce was delicious.
Jayson Vu
Came here as I saw it being featured on the Liven app for a 25% discount plus the awesome reviews it had on Zomato. My girlfriend and I ordered the vegan duck as recommended by other reviews alongside with their special fried rice. The fried rice was fresh and tasty, the duck was also delicious. Beside the language barrier and the staff on duty not knowing a thing about the discount Liven app offers, we would recommend this restaurant for any vegan lover for their fresh authentic Vietnamese cuisine.
Jesskaar
It seems that another of my friends is a vegan at the turn of every month. My way of supporting them through their meat weaning days is to take them here, to Huong.

Vegan or vegetarian Asian food doesn't seem easy to find in Melbourne, and Asian cuisine is so heavily associated with meat (e.g. KBBQ, BBQ pork and duck, sweet and sour pork, etc) that it becomes hard to try and convince someone that vego Asian food can actually be good.

The rice paper rolls filled with mock seafood and served with the northern style glutinous dipping sauce are amazingly refreshing and good value. Followed by some mock shark fin soup and mock duck meat, I challenge you to say that it wasn't as though you were even vegetarian. For those of you who find mock meats challenging, there are still plenty of options for you. A vegetarian or vegan pho perhaps, that doesn't taste like an afterthought to cater to the minority.

Located near Footscray train station, it's easily accessible delicious vego food. We can all contribute to making the world a better place by eating less meat and instead eating at Huong.

So delicious! Absolutely loved my satay beef noodle bowl in this convenient location. Can't wait to go back and try the acclaimed duck dish :)
Kim
Very impressed. The food here is delicious. The duck is the best. But everything is cooked perfectly and all the veggie meats are juicy. The food comes out pretty fast and the service is great, very nice people.
Muffin Man
Genius. Pure mock meat genius. Old mate with the Spotify premium gives great service at a very very affordable rate. Them springy rollers are equally parts decadent and filthy good. Well done sir.
Moneta Tan
Great little vegetarian and vegan restaurant in the west - we need more like it! Similar to loving hut in terms of flavours and prices which I love. The owner was so nice as well. He gave us recommendations and was very helpful when we explained that our friend was allergic to nuts. Great flavours and great value. Thank you! Will be back :)
Judy Ni
Good service and good food. We ordered nuggets, fish noodles and claypot tofu combination. All mock meats taste like the real one, especially the nuggets and beef in that clay pot dish. Also it's near my home, will definitely go again next time!
Vivek
Clean food with great customer service with a genuine smile, keep up the good work. Had the pho and spring rolls which are flawless in texture and taste. Will definitely come back to try more
Alice In Wonderland X Icebear
Easily the best vegetarian restaurant in Footscray if you're after Vietnamese food.
DO:
*get in early if you've got a hankering for Pho as seems to sell out quite quickly
*try anything with the mock duck - that amazing gluten will make any carnivore happy!
*order the salt and pepper tofu. Crispy pieces of happiness!
DON'T:
*try the BBH unless you like it super sweet! I didn't mind it but icebear thought it tasted too strongly of pineapples
*over order because the portions are HUGE! But if you do, make sure to ask for a takeaway box
Alexandra
Went here for lunch with two friends mid week. The service was amazing with the man serving us greeting us warmly, walking us through our food, joking and checking on how our meals were. Two of the three of us are not vegetarian/vegan however all of us agreed that the food was awesome (and slightly addictive with some going back the following day). Between us we ordered the Bun Bo Hue, Pho and Banh Canh Cua with all dishes hitting the spot on a very cold August day. All dishes were packed with flavour and heaps of noodles, veggies and mock meats. The servings are massive as you would expect ordering Vietnamese in Footscray.
Would recommend to anyone in Footscray looking to warm up on a cold day and wanting to try something a bit different to the usual packed Vietnamese restaurants.
Afrovegan
I finally made it here and glad that I did. I ordered the vegan combinations soup and vegan springs rolls. I love the way that ingredients were separated and had the fresh veggies alone. I enjoyed my vegan pho and would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting authentic Vietnamese veganised food. Ps I couldn't resist how delicious the spring rolls were, I finished them before heading home.

I'd been dying to try this place, and finally got the chance to so we ordered five meals between 3 people to share and try a little bit of everything. We got the Satay Tofu, Claypot BBQ Fried Rice (not pictured), Vegan Sweet & Sour Pork Chops, Vegan Sauté Duck & Vegan Viet Sizzling Beef. Everything was fresh, delicious and flavoursome. My favourite was definitely the Pork Chops, the sauce was divine. I struggled with the beef and duck textures (a bit too real for my liking), but the sauces were still yum.

I will definitely order from here again. Note: We ordered via UberEats, and the only reason this didn't score higher was due to having to wait over an hour and 15 min for delivery.
Jo
A very descent Vegetarian and Vegan restaurant for people who love Vietnam cuisine but prefer not to have meat. We tried fried tofu with vegan vegetarian sauce, and rice paper roll with mock fish, both taste amazingly fresh and succulent with authentic zesty sauce. Will definitely come back again and recommend to our friends.
George Williams
Really nice vegetarian options with some gluten free options as well. The broth does seem a little oily but nothing too bad. Mock meats are really believable! I just had the pho and it was extremely filling! Amazing portions and YAY they are on Deliveroo!!!
Kate M
Delicious vegan food, lovely staff and good value for money. My favourites are the sweet and sour pork, salt and pepper fried chicken, spicy 'beef' vermicelli, popular noodle pho and crab noodle pho. Definitely recommend! :-)
Linda Nguyen
I've actually been here many times since its opened and is probably the most convenient and reliable vegan restuarant closest to me. ive had both take away and dine in options and have found their dishes very consistent. The venue itself is very basic with minimal staff, english at times a barrier and the tables/cutlery could do with a bit more cleaning. Ive tried most items on the menu and i will say that there isnt a single dish i hate - all of them are flavourful and comforting. Wouldnt recommend this place if you dont like oily food as it can be quite oily at times! Otherwise the main reason i keep coming back is that the food is GREAT. Id recommend this place for everyone to try and dont let its appearance throw you off!! Definitely dry the saute duck and claypot. I also love the vegan nuggets as a treat, makes me feel like im at mcdonalds but im really not (haha)
Mia Phan
Excellent!!
Im Vietnamese and this is my first time I've eaten such an amazing and yummy vegetarian traditional dishes. I've tried and really lookin' forward to coming back. In addition, the price is reasonable with high quality bowl of noodles
My 5.0 rating review as the first time xxx
Ryan Jonestown
Large portions big selection of mock meats. Friendly staff. Food always presentable and tasty af especially when you're high. Location isn't too far so maybe tram or walk it (probably take about 20mins aye daz?). Yeah sick place

West Melbourne vegans celebrate! This place is soooo delicious. I am normally unsure about mock meat but this place does it so well!!! We had the lemongrass tofu and the satay beef noodle salad and I left so full.
Jay Stiles
Great service. Great food and excellent prices. Something for everybody and interesting and creative veg/vegan takes on classic Vietnamese dishes.
Sophia Nem Singh
The food was delicious, even for a meat lover like myself! The vegan sauté duck was my favourite! On top of that, prices were very affordable for a student budget 😊👌

Amazing food!! So fresh and so delicious, and cheap too!! My favourite vegetarian place in the area!! Will definitely be back again. 10/10 :)
James Andersen
Amazing, couldn't have asked for more! Give them a go, great value for money! Not sure why there rating is so low, my experience was fantastic. Will be back.
Monty
My new favorite Asian vegetarian/vegan restaurant. Much prefer this place over Finas or Veggie Hut. Have been twice now and will keep going back. The mock duck is incredible and soups and salads are very tasty. Highly recommend.
Jessica Nem Singh
LOVED the vegetarian and vegan food here. Extremely good value for money, and very tasty. Have been here twice now and ordered a range of their dishes and have been very satisfied. Great variety of meals both with and without mock meat. Looooved the bun rieu!

Went with my meat-loving Vietnamese boyfriend, he ordered 'porkchops' with rice and I ordered the BBH, extremely impressed with everything!! The mock meat was seasoned extremely well and the texture was spot on, the BBH was slightly on the sweet side but the flavour was impressive. Such a cute little tucked away restaurant, so happy I discovered this, since becoming vegetarian I've been craving BBH - craving satisfied! 👍🏼

Meals really well done and reasonably priced, with a great variety including some mock-meat dishes. Clean and attentive, this new restaurant adds great value to the slowly growing vegetarian offers around Footscray.

My friend told me this place is to die for, the best Vegetarian & Vegan Vietnamese place in Melbourne.

And yes, that's absolutely right when you taste their food. It's surprisingly good.

Do yourself a favour, go and try this place soon :) before it's becoming a hotspot then you have to wait in a long queue to get in.

Fantastic service, great range, and really nice food. If you're an afraid meat lover, don't be scared to come here as most of the dishes have delicious mock meat option in them, and they actually taste great.

Amazing vegan food, the staff are efficient and helpful when asked. All the food we ordered was tasty and flavoursome; we had a range of mock meat, tofu and rice congee. The Mongolian beef is great!

Service was friendly.

Ordered:
Tea
Combination BBQ Fried Rice served in clay pot.

My dish was served without a claypot, the service staff quickly apologised no biggie. But actual food did not disappoint.

Tea is satisfactory.

If you're Vegan/Vegetarian Asian, it's so hard to escape all meat and seafood, but this place makes me feel more inclusive to the Vietnamese diet.
My family went to this new vegetarian restaurant today & we were very impressed by the quality of the food. All dishes were delicious & surprisingly not oily! Service was polite & fast. The restaurant is clean & bright. I'll definitely come back.
